Mai took a deep breath as she approached the McCoy household. It'd been far too long since she'd seen Kazashi and if she had to be honest with herself it stung. Managing an agency was a lot of work but deep down the Numbing Hero knew that was no excuse. It was her own lack of skill -both in managing her own time and the ability to delegate- that led to it taking so long but she was determined to make more time going forward. Either way when she heard about a potential new applicant for the Tranquil Soul Agency she was glad to finally have an excuse to make time in her busy schedule and had insisted she'd check it out herself.

Having heard that Megumi hasn't been in Japan for long Mai elected to wear something more western than her usual outfits to make sure they weren't overwhelmed by culture shock. She'd considered wearing something closer to the style she vaguely remembered Kazashi wearing in the past but didn't want to create confusion. Nor was she confident she could pull it off for that matter.

Clearing her throat and straightening her back she adjusted her hold on the gift basket in her hands to ring the doorbell, nerves running through her despite knowing there's no need for it.

Ever since she had taken her maternity leave, Kazashi had been busy managing her body and the little things around the house. That didn't stop her from checking emails and doing what she could from home, but her work admittedly only helped in a limited capacity. The truth was Mai was saddled with most of the workload. At least she could make up for it, or so she hoped, but introducing Mai to a brand new, promising applicant! ''Don't ya worry, Megumi-chan, Mai is very down ta earth!''

Kazashi was walking back and forth around the apartment, fuzzing with this and that as she got everything ready. She had offered for Megumi to take a seat and relax while she got out a little tray of chocolate snacks and put the water to boil. She knew this was kind of going to be an informal job interview for Megumi, but she also couldn't help but be excited to see Mai again after what felt like an eternity. Hopefully she was going to be as impressed with Megumi as Kaz was!!

When she heard the doorbell she immediately dropped what she was doing. ''That must be her!'' She opened the door, fanged grin greeting Mai. ''Long time no see, Mai-san! Yer lookin' great! Come in, come in! Make yerself at home!''

Traditional money was a big no-no for her and that meant that working for anyone, except for herself, was never an option. She was flexible with a lot of things but not this. Luckily for Mai Kazashi knew this and had arranged for Megumi to join their agency as the chief of medical staff (the only one) without a traditional pay! The only caveat is that Megumi and Mai would meet first

Megumi, who was a very social person, had virtually no apprehension when it came to meeting Mai. She had heard of some of her exploits on the news and the radio, and as Kazashi's senior, she was certainly building up an image of someone very impressive! "I'm excited to meet her!" she would say, helping put away some laundry as she helped with housework as she did whenever she visited.

As the doorbell rang Megumi debated changing her outfit into something more dojo-like. Perhaps a white stage, a black kosode, a black hakama, a white hakama-himo, white tabi, and waraji? (Author note: This is a shinigami outfit) Nah. Too formal and stuffy. Her regular clothing was good enough!

When Mai entered, Megumi was admittedly surprised by her small stature, expecting someone much more tall and imposing based on how Kazashi talked about her exploits. Either way she'd approach eagerly, setting down the laundry at the nearest table "Hello~! Megumi Okumura, nice to meet ya!"
