No matter how many times Kaida dined with Kenzou after a mission or patrol, she could never not marvel over his bottomless pit of a stomach.[break][break]

She was convinced at this point that whatever he consumed got teleported by a secret quirk that he had that she didn't know about to some other place in the world. It's just impossible. It's impossible, right? No one can eat that much in one sitting. Maybe she just wasn't normal. Kaida never ate much— but she drank a lot of water. Then, if he ate a lot, perhaps she compensated for his lack of drink? No, that didn't make any sense.[break][break]

What didn't make any sense was how he was on his ninth bowl of donburi, and still hadn't passed out.[break][break]

"I need to eat a lot thanks to my quirk!" He had once said whilst stuffing five barbeque skewers in his mouth.[break][break]

Yeah. But it wasn't anything new, so she would just sip her iced chocolate in silence whilst the crowd around them marveled over the increasing number of empty bowls stacked on their table. It was getting hard to see him over the kitchenware. This restaurant could make a day's wages just off of him, Kaida was sure of it.[break][break]

"Delicious! Absolutely marvelous! Simply delightful!" He exclaimed, lifting his chopsticks once more.[break][break]

"That's insane! How has he not thrown up yet?" A man recording with his phone said to his side.[break][break]

"I don't know, but it doesn't matter! See if you can get to ten bowls!" Someone else ushered him on.[break][break]

"No problem!" Kenzou asserted before looking to a passing employee, who visibly sweated. "Waiter, another six bowls of donburi if you will! I'm going for a world record!"[break][break]

"Y-Yes, sir..."[break][break]

"There's no need to go that far..." Kaida said to her mentor, placing her cup down as she stared at him, ultimately knowing her words would fall on deaf ears.[break][break]

"Nonsense! Young Kaida, we will never know our limits until we push them! We must always go beyond!" Kenzou proclaimed, still sporting his ever-present unsettling grin. He was only six years older than her, but acted like he was wise beyond his years. Despite the seemingly annoyed nature of her thoughts, Kaida knew he was. "I will not stop until I collapse from overexertion! Only then will I get stronger!"[break][break]

Kaida paused, then sighed, used to his eccentricities. "Suit yourself."

終ノ空 [Now Playing: Kawaranaikara-Koso] I. . . wonder how long this is going to take. A part of the crowd that was mostly egging Kenzou on, Shion stood to the side with a paper bowl of Reganmian that was almost empty. He had deliberately taken his time to try and wait out the older man's appetite, but that bottomless pit of a stomach was something else. . .  Zuruzuruzuruzuru- As the youth sucked in another mouthful of noodles, his companion appeared to be content staring at a horrified family a few tables away with their dead fish-like eyes. Toto never ate, or drank for that matter. It was even a mystery to Shion as to where their energy was sourced from. But the family would feel a brief respite when the alien's beast of burden eventually got tired of waiting, taking advantage of his slim form to slip through the human cracks inside the crowd. "Umm. . . Ikarashi-san?" Kaida would hear the androgynous voice call for her softly, from the comfortable distance of two inches away. Shion's head, and only his head was poking out of a shifting, indescribable mass of human torsos and limbs. His situation quite resembled the one many characters in self-published manga would find themselves in- their bodies stuck in a wall. "Is he almost done?" Kaida Ikarashi

After receiving the next bowl, Kenzou promptly downed it whilst the crowd chanted "go" repeatedly at him. Finding the excitement too overbearing, Kaida was glad when someone called her name from the mass of people. She didn't recognise him, but from his shy demeanor she could only guess him to possibly be a student from campus.[break][break]

Exiting the booth, and shoving through the throngs, she met him with a placid look, then glanced back at Kenzou. No, he would not be done soon. She would go as far as to say not any time soon. Kenzou could chug good food like coals in the engine of a steam train. It was never-ending.[break][break]

"No." She said ultimately. "Was there something you needed of me? If not, I need to make sure he doesn't choke himself to death."
