It was nice to get out of the house for once. Not heading to work, not on any sort of official hero business, but just as herself, taking the twins on their first play date. She had pushed her baby stroller up to the edge of the park where she waited for Chrysopoeia to show up. Imagine her surprise when she found out another renowned hero had recently become a mother and returned to heroism too! It almost seemed too good to be true, she simply had to reach out and organize a play date with her. They could have met on the job too, heroes on patrol, but Kazashi found it was much easier to get to know people when they weren't constantly worried about fighting crime. The stroller was wide so it could it could fit both of the twins. Zenji and Yuzuki, even though they were already like night and day they seemed to get along just fine. Zenji, her son, was the energetic one, his hands always looking for something to hold onto. They had resorted to getting him a soft, tiny plushie which was working out so far. Yuzuki, her daughter on the other hand was already preparing herself for another nap. Both babies had blue skin like their father, but also a pair of little, red horn stubs that were slowly growing out just like her own had been when she was little. Zenji also had a pair of auric cross eyes like hers, while Yuzuki had an auric cross eye and a milky white eye like her dad's. ''Ya two look cozy in there, wish Ah could join ya.'' She smiled down at the babies, occasionally looking up to keep an eye out for Chrysopoeia. Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Super Mommy Playdate
Crys wasn’t sure if she was doing this right. She had taken a lot of advice from her mother on what to expect for her first “Mommy Playdate”. Crys had been a mother for roughly a year to her daughter Amria but she still was not great with social interactions. Crys was a stoic most of her life and only started to become expressive after meeting her husband. Once Crys gave birth to their daughter, she wanted to become a more socially adjusted person for her daughter’s sake. So when she received an invitation from another professional hero who was also a mother for a playdate Crys saw it as an opportunity to study more motherly demeanor and behavior to emulate.
Crys manipulated her hero uniform to become an adorable gold sundress and she put her huge mass of hair up in a tightly-wrapped thick bun. She loaded Amira into her stroller and headed for the park.
Crys was happy, even if her face didn’t read as much. She was so short that the stroller she pushed looked more like a child’s toy baby carriage.
Crys saw Kazashi across the way, so she strode towards her. “Greetings Mrs. McCoy.” Crys said in a monotoned greeting as she parked her daughter next to Kazashi’s stroller. Crys looked over at Kazashi’s babies with an unchanged stern expression for a long moment before speaking again in an unemotional patter. “These infants are adorable. Congratulations on your successful genetic distribution.” Crys ‘complimented’ Kazashi.

She turned to look at Crys. ''Hi! Ya can just call me Kazashi, or Kaz for short.'' Her accent was distinctly rural, but hopefully that wouldn't make communicating any harder for them. She was surprised that Crys was so short, not that it really mattered, but she was used to working alongside giants in the hero industry. ''Yer sundress looks lovely, did ya buy it here in Tokyo?'' She smiled warmly, blinking her eyes as Crys congratulated her on her successful genetic distribution. ''Uh, thank ya! The energetic one is Zenji an' the sleepy one next to him is Yuzuki.'' She leaned over to look at Amira. ''How cute! What's her name?''She gestured for Crys to follow her into the park so they could walk and talk. ''Ah heard ya got back inta the hero business recently too. As someone who also just started goin' on patrols again Ah was wonderin' how yer experience has been?'' As they walked Zenji suddenly flung his little plushie out of the stroller, but before it could hit the ground she activated her quirk. Turning her hand into a red scarf, she wrapped it around the plush and caught it. ''Zenji,'' She said in a soft, but firm voice, stopping her stroller to face him. ''Ya can't throw this out here, we might lose it.'' She wiped some drool from his chin and handed him the plushie back, turning her hand back to normal. Yuzuki, the twin who had been dosing off now looked up at Crys with big her big curious eyes, reaching her tiny hand out towards her. ''Children are a handful, aren't they? Maybe Ah can learn a thing or two from ya.'' Kazashi chuckled. Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Out for a Stroll
Crys was well-versed with a number of languages, most prominently English and Japanese, but her speech pattern was very formal. But she still understood Kazashi well enough. So when she she heard Kaz's thickly rural accent, it was surprising but actually quite comforting. It reminded her of her home back in Colorado. There was plenty that she wish she could forget about life back there, but it still had plenty of comfortable memories too. "Noted." Crys said taking in the preferred name Kazashi wanted to be called by.
It did take Crys a moment to recognize that Kaz was complimenting her dress. Crys was use to using hero uniform and just changing its appearance and style however she pleased with her quirk, so she didn't really think about it in a separate sense. If it wasn't for Akira, Crys likely wouldn't have found much taste in fashion but she had developed a taste for looking nice. "No, this is a modified version of my hero uniform. It is much more practical to have it readily available and reduces the need for an abundance of separate clothing pieces." Crys said rather clinically, but it was how she expressed gratitude for Kaz's comment.
Crys looked over the twins as their mother introduced them. The faintest of smiles curled her lip as she took in how cute they were. Crys always adored the idea of twins. Always having someone that was there for you, looked, thought and acted like you. Being an only child, Crys would have been happy to just have siblings, a desire that she would remedy for her daughter. While she was not eager to go through pregnancy and be taken out of hero work again so soon, she did want to give Amira some siblings of her own. Crys smile faded away when Kaz asked about Amira and Crys' expression returned to neutral to register the comment. Her smile then returned even more prominent and beamed with a pride and love as she looked over to her daughter.
"This is Amira Crystine Isaacs-Yumano." Crys said tenderly as she smiled at her little daughter. Crys stood on her toes to bend over the side of her stroller to lightly tuck Amira in.
The pair of mothers began to walk through the park and chat about their experiences. Despite her facial expression having returned to a stern blank slate, Crys was enjoying the company and conversation. "It is... more uncomfortable to be away from Amira to return to the field than I expected to be..." Crys admitted furrowing her brow slightly. "I love being able to perform as a hero again but I do not like being away from her..." Crys looked over to the fellow hero mom and asked, "When do you think will be a suitable age for me to just bring her along on patrol?" Crys was asking seriously, but with her monotone and rather ridiculous thought of bringing a young child out crime fighting made it sound like a joke.
Crys watched as one of the twins tossed their stuffed toy from the stroller and Kaz used her quirk to catch it. Crys examined the process, mentally breaking it down trying to figure it out. Crys was deeply fascinated by quirks and the application they could have as a hero. But Crys got distracted by the tiny Yuzuki reaching out towards her. Crys reached over and gently let her take her finger as a gentle baby hand shake.
"I am merely taking my lead from my mother, mother-in-law and grandparents. I read many books on the matter of parenthood but it is not one to one when applying..." Crys said as she glanced back to Amira. Amira started to blink heavily as she woke up from her nap. She began to hiccup and sniffle solemnly without her father in sight. "Shh shh shh. It's alright, we'll see daddy later." Crys said as she gently lifted Amira from the stroller bed to rock softly in her arms.

''No way! That's yer hero costume?'' She took another look at the dress. She was able to modify it on the go?? That sounded so convenient! It almost made the fashion lover in her a little jealous of Crys. ''So yer suited up for work even though ya aren't on duty?'' She grinned. She had picked up that her friend seemed to be talking in a monotone or more clinical way, but she assumed it was just the way she talked and didn't have any issues with it. If anything it was really memorable. The pride and love in Chrysopoeia's smile as she introduced her daughter was a feeling she knew all too well. She never wanted to become that parent who just talked about her kids and nothing else, but it was hard to resist when she loved them so much! ''Amira C-Crystine..'' Her hopelessly poor language skills were catching up to her as she had problems pronouncing her full name, but she didn't let that stop her! ''What a beautiful name! When Ah first heard about ya, yer own name sounded very unique too.'' She smiled at Crys. ''Are ya from overseas? My husband is American, but Ah'm not so good with languages myself.'' She was taking English lessons, but it was an uphill battle. ''In any case, it's nice ta meet ya both. Didn't expect ta find another hero mom around my age.''Kazashi listened as Crys answered while they walked, the duality of being a mom and a hero was all too relatable to her. The love of the work, of protecting society, but the heartache of not knowing what the kids were up to. Were they okay? Did they miss her while she was gone? ''Ah know that feelin' all too well. Ah call my husband all the time when he's home an' Ah'm on the job.'' She admitted with a sheepish smile. ''When?'' She looked down at the twins, then back to Crys. ''Ah wish Ah knew! Hopefully soon, right?'' She looked down at Amira. ''Do ya want yer daughter ta become a hero one day?'' Maybe it was a bit early to ask a question like that, after all, Amira was just one year old. When she handed Zenji his plushie back she looked over to see Crys and Yuzuki in the middle of their baby handshake. ''She's a charmer that one, that's how she gets ya.'' She grinned, tucking her daughter back in before they continued walking. ''Yeah, Ah've read plenty of books too. When applyin' it, it's like every kid is different because they have their own personalities.'' She looked over at Crys as she picked Amira up and rocked her gently in her arms. ''It's a full-time job, isn't it?'' She offered with an empathetic smile. ''She must love her dad. What does yer husband do?'' Noticing that the twins were getting a little restless and moving around in their stroller, Kazashi casually turned one of her arms into a red scarf once more, snaking it down in between them so they could hold onto it and snuggle it for comfort. It was a gesture that, despite their young age, they were already very familiar with and it tended to keep them calm, at least so long as it wasn't an emergency. Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Heroic Aspirations
Crys was pleased by Kaz's observation of being 'suited up' even while off duty. Crys enjoyed the practicality of always being prepared and the utility of having such adaptable attire. Crys took a small step away and with a brief spin she activated her quirk to manipulate and shift her dress as smoothly as the cascading of water to become her hero uniform. She showed her friend her heroic costume for a couple turns before shifting back to her sundress. Crys was already felt a comfort in Kaz's company. Crys didn't normally enjoy many social interactions due to her ineffective demeanor. She was much better than before she met her husband, but not everyone found her stoic nature as cute as he did. Crys was relieved that Kazashi did not seem off put by it,
"I am originally from Colorado in America, I moved to Japan with my mother nearly 5 years ago. Aside from Japanese and English, I speak 8 other languages with near fluency not counting Spanish and Portuguese which I am learning and the manner of speech I have that my husband deems a language all its own." Crys wasn't bragging, just sharing information she believed was relevant. She had a bad habit of either undersharing, keeping things brief and their logical explanation, or over-expositing, giving far more than was needed, believing it emulated empathy and understanding of a conversation. "Agreed." Crys responded to Kaz' declaration of how nice it was to meet another hero mom their age.
Crys beamed nearly as proudly at the idea of Amira growing to be a hero as she did from her introduction of Amira. "Yes. I wish to institute a higher standard for all heroes to be held to. Having children to achieve and continue that level of acceptable competency is an additional aspiration now that I know the value and pleasure of being a mother. The sooner I can help her establish herself as a hero the easier it will be to seek implementation of my intolerance of current pro hero standards and practices." Crys wanted the world to have better heroes, so by having more examples than herself held to her standard, she believed would prove her view's validity.
Hearing Kazashi's views on each child being different with unique personalities did make Crys wonder about her own plans of subsequent children. After all, even if Amira was receptive to her parenting, additional babies might require wholly different needs. "Noted." Crys said nodding along in contemplation while she rocked Amira in her arms.
"Yes, Amira prefers her father for everything but feeding, though even with that I am uncertain that is not also because of necessity." Crys looked down to Amira with a faint smile. "It is hard to fault her for having good taste."
"Akira is also a professional hero. So when we are both unavalible to watch Amira, she is usually left in the care of my mother, Akira's mother, or my grandmother. They are happy to take care of her, which only makes sense considering their interests in my husband and my reproduction has never been subtle." Crys said, despite early in the relationship she was oblivious to her mother's hints for grandchildren. Crys' only experience with romance and intimacy at that time coming from reading spicy fiction where all the emotions and innuendo was literally spelled out.
"Is your husband a professional hero as well?"

''Oooh!'' She applauded Crys at the display as she changed into her hero outfit using her quirk. ''Ah'm so jealous! Yer power seems so useful!'' So she was from America just like her husband Chuck, that explained why her name was difficult for her to pronounce. When her friend mentioned how many languages she spoke Kaz damn near felt her jaw drop and hit the ground. ''Th-That many?! Ya got hella smarts on ya, bet yer daughter is gonna become a genius too.'' She smiled warmly. ''Ah speak just one, well.. Ah'm improvin' my English and Spanish slowly!'' She laughed, embarrassed at her own lack of linguistic skills. ''Really? That's ambitious.'' She didn't mean it in a way that meant to downplay her goals, Kaz was genuinely impressed with Crys and wanted to see her succeed, even in something like changing the hero system for the better. She looked back down at her own kids. Were they going to want to become heroes one day? Would she even allow it? She might grow too attached as a mother and want both of them as far away from danger as possible. Only time could tell and besides it wasn't just her choice to make it was Chuck's too. ''Ah know what ya mean!'' She laughed, ''these two are obsessed with their dad too, if he sits down on the couch they immediately want ta cuddle up ta him.'' Can't fault the kids for having good taste indeed. ''Oh really? Ya both met on the job then, or in hero school? We usually get my mom ta look after the lil ones if we're busy, or my husband's cousin.'' She blinked, ''my Chuck? No, he works in construction an' cleanin'. We met in high school, love at first sight.'' She reminisced, looking at the ground shyly. ''Love's a funny thing, it just sorta happens, doesn't it? Love for yer soulmate, love for yer children.'' She took both of the twins out so she could nestle them, one in each arm. ''Ah think it's the closest thing we have ta real magic in this world.''Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Quantifiable Friendship
As they spoke about the languages Crys knew and was studying, Kaz said a phrase that Crys was unfamiliar with, "Hella smarts on you..." Crys repeated the phrase out loud to try to see if she had heard it correctly. After a few brief moments, she broke it down by context until it clicked. "Ah yes, 'hella smarts'. Noted." Crys nodded along as she comprehended the meaning as basically as possible. "While I wish for Amira and all of my eventual children to be intelligent and competent, I actually wish for them to be more socially versed and emotionally eloquent such as yourself."
As they moved on to discussing Crys' goal of society change and systematic upheaval of the standards of Heroes, Crys never took Kaz's comment of being ambitious negatively. Crys knew her goal was ambitious if not improbable, but for the sake of her future children and all children and weak around the world, she needed Heroes to be better. She never wanted anyone to be let down by heroes as she was, to lose loved ones because heroes weren't good enough. There was plenty of good people could do without taking the responsibility of hero without the capabilities needed to uphold that responsibility.
"Akira and I met in hero school. He was an upperclassman and I scolded him for not being efficient enough during classes as a student teacher. While I am older than him, I was forced to start classes at a lower level to catch up with my peers when I moved to Japan." Crys briefly described meeting her husband and Kazashi replied in kind. "Construction and custodial work, both fine vocations." Crys said honestly.Crys in truth felt a little envious of Kaz's love at first sight. This was a common enough trope in her romance novels she regularly consumed. The love story for herself and Akira could hardly hold the same water romantically. She still cherished it and occassionaly fictionalized it in personal writings herself, but bonding over deceased fathers and vowing to help him bring his father's killer to justice were hardly tantalizing or passionate.
As Kaz mentioned the ideas of soul mates and the intense love that brought being magical, Crys lost herself in thought again. Crys did not believe in supernatural concepts like magic, religion or luck, however there was a rather kindred connection that she had with Akira and now her daughter. Something that she hadn't really put much thought into since it just existed freely and unconsciously. It could be studied and possibly broken down, but there was a contentment in just being unmeasured. This likely was the closest she would agree with the idea of soul mates, and so Crys just gave a gentle nod and said, "Noted."
Crys placed Amira back down into the strolled, stroking Amira's soft tufts of hair softly as she tucked her in. "This is a pleasant outing. I would enjoy joining you in the field while on duty to see your aptitude personally." Crys said in her own bizarre way of saying she would like to meet again sometime.

''Yeah, yeah!! Big brain an' all that! They say kids take after their parents, so she's gonna be a smart one too!'' She chuckled lightly. ''Really? That's not a bad wish either.'' She looked back down at the twins for a moment before looking back at Crys. ''We wish for all the best for them, right? Ah wish Ah could just give 'em the whole world right now.''''No way, ya scolded yer senior? Ya must be pretty fearless.'' She grinned, imagining how a small woman like Crys would go up and scold another student. Kaz herself wouldn't have been that brave. Thankfully her and Chuck met outside of school and in a much more casual setting. ''Yeah. His quirk helps him get big muscles, so it makes him really good at doin' things that require a lot of liftin'.'' She wasn't exactly weak herself, but she was more than happy to let him do some of the heavy lifting at home, especially since with his regeneration quirk it just meant that he would heal back any soreness he might get throughout the day. ''Right? Ah'm happy ya think so too! When Ah saw there was another hero my age dealin' with becomin' a mom Ah couldn't believe my luck. It's nice ta talk with someone who understands what it's like.'' She lowered the twins back into their stroller too. ''Yeah? Ah'd love ta plan another hang out then! Either on the job, or goin' ta a park like this. Chuck an' Ah are in the process of movin' inta our own house, maybe we could invite ya an' Akira over sometime when we get settled in?''Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Happily Blended
Crys nodded along with Kaz's desire to give her children the world. It was an unrealistic sentiment, but one Crys understood fully. She wished everything for Amira, every joy and pleasure, every comfort, eternal peace and happiness. Crys was a rather realistic kind of person, she didn't believe in divine forces or unmeasurable concepts such as luck, but since she married Akira and had Amira, her narrow logical scope felt more open and lenient. Her desire to become a top class hero and change the standards of heroics as a whole felt more tangible than ever. Not because she believed more in her dream but because now she had a specific person that she needed to change the world for, no matter how impossible.
Crys liked the idea of spending time with Kaz again. "Yes, perhaps we can find a time to go on patrol together but at the very least I believe these 'playdates' would benefit us both as a regular occurrence. It is always better to accumulate resources and experience when cooperating with others, and motherhood will likely seem dauntless with us cooperating. I would also like to see this Chuck and his big muscles, I am fascinated at what a quirk like that will contribute towards any possible meta-abilities your offspring could form."
The thought of quirk amalgamation and mutation had been on Crys' mind a lot lately. Her quirk had been inherited from her father's side and it seem to have been nearly identical to her late father's, aunt's and grandmother. She, and to be fair her grandmother, were interested by what Akira's quirk might bring to their children when combined with Crys'. While her grandmother would have preferred keeping their family's quirk unaltered, the potential was intriguing. Crys wondered if Amira developed a quirk what would it be like.

She couldn't be more thrilled that Crys wanted to keep up these playdates too. Maybe she didn't make such a bad first impression after all! Here she had been overthinking and nervous all week, but Crys was such a sweetheart and Amira was just the cutest. She was also curious about Akira, eager to invite them both over to her and Chuck's humble little countryside house. Socializing had become a lot harder for her after Zenji and Yuzuki entered the picture, but it was refreshing to not only talk to someone again, but someone as kind and understanding as Crys. Maybe part of what made conversations with her so easy was because they could relate to one another. ''That makes it official then, let's schedule another playdate an' if our patrols line up we can go walkin' the city together as heroes too.'' When she mentioned Chuck and his big muscles Kazashi laughed. ''Right?? They'll be hella strong these lil ones, they got the blue skin from their pa's mutation, so they'll most likely take after him in some way.'' She looked down at the twins with a smile. ''Besides his charm of course, they got that an' more! It's gonna be impossible ta say no ta them.'' She joked and gave a small shrug. The twins being younger than Amira meant that Crys and Akira were also ahead of her and Chuck in terms of the process of raising a child. ''But quirk fusions are weird like that. My father's got a devil quirk.'' She pointed at her horns, sharp teeth and auric cross eyes. ''-but my mother's got the ability ta make clothes out of thin air.'' She then transformed her hand into a boot. ''So Ah got the ability ta turn inta clothes, an' Ah guess these devil mutation features along with it.''Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Plentiful Possibilities
Crys went silent at the flood of possibilities from their potential quirk fusion. Even more fascinating was that with them being twins, there was even more chance that they would not share the same quirk. Crys' father's side proved to be rather selective in their "breeding" before Crys married Akira in attempts to not mutate their quirk, but they had warmed up to the concept and now accepted Akira and the idea of future children as openly as Crys did. Crys didn't even think about what the twin's capability would be as possible heroes, but the way they could contribute to their community. Imagine if they could make clothing that could give people strength or even the ability to assist the disabled like helping people to walk or see. What if they could generate clothing that could be edible and nutritious? What if they even just could change the color of clothing to blue?! The possibilities and probabilities were endless.
Crys nearly asked for a family history for Kaz and her husband just so she could spend the evening writing up genetic punnet squares and statistics... but she snapped herself out of the thought. Maybe that was better left for after they knew each other longer, maybe after their third playdate. Crys didn't want to scare off a new friend with her mildly intrusive analysis.
An reminder came in on her phone which pinged that she was due to meet up with her mother and mother-in-law at the mall to go dress shopping. It wasn't something Crys was keen on for the context considering she felt no need for anything beyond her hero uniform and its transformative capabilities but she did enjoy the outings none the less and it gave Akira more time to bond with her grandmother. "I have an appointment to meet my mothers for clothing shopping. It is frivolous, but benign, if you wished to join us." Crys extended the offer to her new friend to join them. They had spent the afternoon together already so it would be understandable if Kaz was ready to take her twins home, but Crys invited her regardless.

Ironically, despite both her and Chuck having very pronounced quirks, it wasn't something she had ever really thought much about before the pregnancy. Sure, she knew their babies were going to be adorable little stinkers, with all the best from both their parents, but in terms of how the powers would actually manifest she hadn't the slightest clue on what to expect. Regeneration and clothing transformation? Her head hurt just thinking about the possible combinations. All she hoped was that the kids would have their first quirk manifestation at home, and that her and Chuck could be present for it to make sure they would get the best first quirk experience possible. ''Yeah, that so?'' She grinned, ''If ya would have me an' the lil ones we would be happy ta join ya! Ah just need ta bring 'em back home before dinner time.'' The perks of cooking up a storm last night so she could settle for just heating up the leftovers today. ''What kinda clothes were ya lookin' at? Anythin' specific in yer sights? Tell me all about the family too! Ah'd want ta make a good impression.'' She found that sometimes people already had an idea of who she was, but only based on her hero persona. That wasn't the kind of friendship she wanted with Crys. Sure, being hero colleagues was nice, but she wanted a real, genuine friend, someone who could see her as Kaz and not always as Apparel. She would follow Crys's lead once it was time to leave. She had so much to tell Chuck when she got home!! Chrysopoeia

Chrysopoeia Happy Partings
Crys was happy to have a friend joining her for shopping. Crys told her how she was looking into some clothing for a date night out with her husband. She wasn't exactly sold on the idea of shopping for something when she already had a dress that could basically take on any shape and style she wanted, but her mother and mother-in-law had talked her into it. If for no other reason than a bonding experience, Crys reluctantly went along with it.
It was very obvious whom was Crys' mother as Colleen looked like an average proportioned version of Crys. Crys had a relatively unfortunate youthful appearance that with her height made people believe she was younger than she was. Standing next to her mother didn't help this either. Colleen was not like her daughter in demeanor. Where Crys was very reserved and stoic, Colleen exuded a friendly and bubbly personality, which only contrasted her daughter as much as their height difference.
Crys' mother-in-law was a comfortable median between Crys' emotionlessness and Colleen's welcoming behavior. She was kind but more easy-going and calm. She had short straight blond hair and a rather slender body. Colleen and Aiko were happy to meet Kaz and especially the twins. They all went around the store, chatting, trying on clothes, and having a great time. Colleen was thrilled for Crys to have found such a lovely friend.
When they all parted ways, Colleen had invited Kaz and her family to join them for dinner one night. Crys and Colleen adored cooking meals for people they cared about, so this would be their way of extending their welcome to them. They said their goodbyes, excited to see each other again soon.
