sango satomi. ❝ Sango is a holy woman. She has devoted herself to the shrine ever since she first put on her sheer-white and red robes, and as a woman of holiness, she is expected to purify any evil tainting the temples she chooses to stay in. She has lost count of the amount of the exorcisms, funeral rites, and purifications she's exacted— now, it is all the same to her, with no monster or devil being able to phase the pink kitsune of the Horyu-ji, no matter how malicious they might be. If only she knew how different it would be if one of those devils she would try and purify would be a dear pupil she had taught herself. Kaida has not been herself in years. She would go as far as to say she had never been "herself" in the first place with how much time had worn down on her soul— the misfortune the world had brought her, she could only fight for so long until she was dragged underwater with it. Each day, it becomes more difficult. Each day, she loses a piece of herself. That once kind, benevolent soul that would roll her eyes at Sango in good jest would now only glare at her coldly, heartlessly, as if she had never known Sango at all. It hurts. She wants the old Kaida back. Sango races down the hallways, hair whipping around her face as she searches. Dear Junsuina said she would come today, didn't she? Where is she? Kaida needs her friend now, more than ever. Some brigands, some outlaws Sango has never heard of accidentally stumbled into the temple after hearing of the rumor of the One-eyed Dragon— and unfortunately, Kaida seemed to be having one of her bad days. Kaida did not take to trespassing kindly. She would show no mercy, and mercy would only come once their entrails had been brutally ripped from their stomachs by her. Gods, how did it come to this?"Junsuina!" Sango calls out desperately once her pink eyes land on the woman. "Please, it's Kaida! You need to help her, she's this way!" Sango takes off without another word. She can still hear their screams, even this far away.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... The gravel beneath her feat crunched as Jun walked along the path, looking back every so often. Jun had done everything in her power to ensure no one was following her, and she hated it. Every part of her said that this was dumb; she was going to visit a criminal. A powerful one at that. There were always risks whenever Jun wanted to visit Kaida, but with how the two of them slowly but surely losing their minds something had to be done. As far as Jun knew, she was one of the few voices of reason for her friend. Her sister... Though as she approached the temple she heard Sango call out. Her blood ran cold, and she was assuming the worst. She picked up her feet, darting for the entrance as quickly as she could. "Where is she?" She called out, skidding to a halt just outside the doorway before beginning to dart inside. The cries coming from within...that wasn't good. A million possibilities were crossing Jun's mind, and she couldn't just stand by and let whatever was happening continue. Unless Sango managed to info dump everything going on in those two seconds she hung around, she'd spring into action by sprinting deeper into the temple. Kaida Ikarashi taiihun

>> tw: gore, blood, deathsango satomi. ❝ "In the courtyard!" Sango shouted back, desperation edging into her voice. They exited the entrance hall, a flash of a memory seizing her mind in a brutal blaze, remembering how she had first found Kaida here, deathly wounded. They pass the veranda where they had both once caught her whispering at thin air. They dash into the main hall, where a mercenary lays over a few forgotten pews, toppled over from the body's weight. A single glance at his body is enough to know he is not breathing. They need to get to her, quickly. The kitsune is not fit enough for this type of strenuous running, but she will do all she can for Kaida. "It's been getting worse—" Sango wheezes. "each time you have to leave, I swear a part of her soul escapes out of the temple gates with you. Junsuina," Sango looks at the woman. "I don't know how much more of this either of us can take..."Despite the absurdly uncertain future, they had made progress on taking down each of the Ikarashi Clan's lieutenants and captains— but every time that happens, every time she has to see Kaida get closer to her goal by doing those unspeakable, unspeakable things, Sango cannot help but wonder if Kaida will perish before she ever sees the light of dawn. It is not impossible. She would go as far as to say that she was convinced Kaida would die from her own recklessness before her hand would ever crush her sister's throat. Oh, the lot of the fools that aspire to more. Sango wishes Kaida could see reason. She knows, however, upon rounding the final corner, that their journey to that destination is nowhere near its end. The dragon's spear is extracted from the mercenary's chest with a vicious wrench, blood spraying like a fountain into the air as she whips around and drives it into another man's stomach, skewering him like a fish on a pike. All the while the demon fights, she growls animalistically, a sight that drives Sango to her knees. They should have known better. Can't they see that coming here is akin to fighting a pack of starved, hungry wolves in their own cramped den? "Please," Sango whispered, bringing her hands up in prayer as another mercenary's head disappears beneath Kaida's heel. "please, stop this..."

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... The one thing that Jun lacked as the years went by was hesitation. There were times where she didn't act, and it was solely based on the need to be patient, to pause and to observe. Then there were times where action had to be taken immediately. This was a time to follow through on the former. The moment she entered the courtyard she wouldn't pause or slow down; the amount of death and destruction she had seen over the years desensitized her. One of her rings glowed, and she leapt forward, a pair of shields forming in her hands as she corkscrewed towards Kaida at speed and kicked at her head, intending to force her to bring the weapon up to block. "If you value your lives, run!" No doubt being forced back she skidded to a halt, keeping one of the shields up as she eyed Kaida. She had to present herself as a great threat than the chaff that had encroached on her territory. That said, it was also likely that her presence would make these vagrants think she was here to save them, and any survivors after the fact might mention how she heroically saved the day... At least, that's what she hoped. Because she knew that these people were jeopardizing Kaida's location. Vigilante or not, she was wanted by both the Association and the yakuza. And unfortunately, in both cases it was 'dead or alive'. The moment the courtyard cleared and there was breathing room she slowly began to circle Kaida, keeping both shields up; a sign of her compassion. "What are you doing, Kaida? These deaths are only going to draw attention to yourself. Roughed up I get, but this...only way to cover this up is much more extreme. Things are bad enough as it is."taiihun

They knew she grew weaker with every wink of sleep that she lost. [break][break] Kaida had done her rounds, as usual. Patrol, hunt, behead any trespassers and leave their bodies to rot so any foolish soul so daring to encroach on her territory has a better mind than come to look for her. Repeat. Every single day, a moment where she could be better spending her time elsewhere— more so tracking down those who she really concerned herself with. Not these… hounds. These dogs that some underground harbinger thought were enough to kill her. Let them come, she thought. Let them see how much of a mistake they’ve made, how laughable they are. [break][break] It doesn’t matter how many come. [break][break] She will do them their services. [break][break] If not only for this ghost of her past.[break][break] Junsuina would find Kaida to be no different than the last time she had laid eyes upon the specter of a woman. Her entire body but her face draped in black and blue armour with the fur cloak over her shoulders, and the eyepatch hiding her right eye, Kaida was nothing short of Death’s ghost— if not Death itself for the poor souls she had murdered. There was no sympathy in that one cold, icy blue eye as she glared her enemies down— Junsuina included. [break][break] Kaida’s heel leaves the red matter of what was the man’s head as she brought her yari to head-height, snarling at the woman who would dare get in the way of her joy, lashing backwards at Jun. What was she doing? Was it not obvious? “The things they have sent to kill me are but a comparison to children’s toys.” The dragon hisses. “Coming here is akin to declaring war on me. I have no leniency for mercy, and certainly not for these puppets.” Kaida took a threatening step forward, pointing her spear at Junsuina. “They know where I reside, so they must die. If you insist on getting in the way, I will strike you down.” [attr=class, punkihopecredit] template by punki[newclass=.punkihope .accentbg]background: #6ecaf5;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .accentborder, .punkihope .bulk i]border-color: #6ecaf5;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .accenttext, .punkihope .bulk b, .punkihope .bottom-text span a]color: #6ecaf5;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope]width: 500px; background: #fbfbfb; border: 1px solid rgba(0,0,0,0.05); margin: auto;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .absolute-holder]width: 500px; height: 272px; position: absolute; overflow: hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .image]position: absolute; width: 100%; top: 0; height: 180px; background: url('https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/929933081832476683/969170822839271464/blake2.png');[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .image .overlay]height: inherit; background: linear-gradient(to right,rgba(60,60,60,0.2),rgba(70,70,70,0.8));[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .lyric1, .punkihope .lyric2]position: absolute; right: 43px; bottom: 29px; padding-top: 4px; padding-left: 4px; height: 20px; background: #ffffff;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .lyric1 div, .punkihope .lyric2 div]border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; font-family: 'Roboto Mono'; font-size: 10px; font-weight: 300; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: 2px; word-spacing: -4px; line-height: 12px; padding: 5px 7px; margin-right: -4px;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .lyric1]bottom: 66px;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .image-divider]position: absolute; width: 450px; height: 1px; top: 180px; padding: 15px 25px; background: #ffffff; border-bottom: 1px solid rgba(0,0,0,0.07);[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .image-divider div]height: inherit; opacity: 0.3;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .charname]position: absolute; bottom: 15px; left: 50px; font-family: 'Playfair Display'; font-style: italic; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: 2px; line-height: 14px; text-transform: lowercase;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .charname div]display: inline-block; opacity: 0.5; width: 50px; height: 1px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; margin-right: 10px;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .bulk]margin-top: 272px; margin-left: 40px; width: 420px; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 18px; color: rgba(0,0,0,0.6); text-align: justify;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .bulk i]border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: solid;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .bulk i b]font-weight: 400;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .bottom-text]height: 50px; background: #3e3e3e; margin: -1px; margin-top: 40px; font-family: 'Open Sans'; color: rgba(255,255,255,0.5); font-size: 10px; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 50px; padding: 0 40px;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .bottom-text > span]float: right;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihope .bottom-text a]font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihopecredit]width: 500px; margin: auto; text-align: center; font-family: 'Roboto Mono'; font-size: 10px; line-height: 25px; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: 1px; opacity: 0.5;[/newclass] [newclass=.punkihopecredit a]font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;[/newclass]

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun made a face as Kaida lifted her foot out of the goop of what remained of the man's head, shield flickering briefly as other emotions bubbled up. It did nothing to disrupt the construct, which was good if she had to fight Kaida again. "Think. If they were sent here to kill you, their failure to check in will at the very least reveal your position to those looking for you. Yakuza and hero alike. By resorting to violence first you've tipped your hand. You're smarter than this, Kaida." What Jun didn't say was she also wasn't fond of the killing. Not just the killing, but the incredibly brutal way Kaida dispatched her foes. It was sickening, to say the least. "I'm interfering because you're my friend, Kaida. I still care about you, worry about you. Don't get so caught up in the little things that you fail to see the big picture." Jun, while not overtly aggressive, was still tensed and ready for a fight. The quartz she continued to wear in her rings wore out swiftly, but they weren't the only items on Jun's person that she could draw constructs from. While she didn't want to fight, she was prepared to if she had to. Kaida Ikarashi
