"Hello?"
Miroru stepped into what sure seemed like an empty martial arts studio or maybe just a repurposed store front, scratching her head in confusion. Was she in the right place? Really?
"Is this the right place for the creative combat workshop? Or did I get the address wrong?"
She knew she hadn't taken it DOWN wrong, but it felt more polite than openly wondering if the address had been listed incorrectly.
The redhead's mind spun with possibilities. Was this a trap? Had it already sprung? Maybe someone else had shown up earlier and already been kidnapped. Was she too late to help? Or was it on the level and she'd misread the time? The date?
What was going on?!

Mochi was, as she so often did, scurrying around a lot today. Lots of errands to run, places to be, things to do, people to see! Today she was running a little study program, offering her expert pro hero advice to people who needed it. It wasn't official teachering, but she was licensed and Quirks were so tricky to figure out sometimes that she thought people would appreciate it. Besides, with her graduating she had to leave the Ultra Revue Club behind at UA and that left a big old gap in her schedule. That's where the Ultra QWork Study Program came in!
It actually hadn't had too much use yet, so when she heard someone call out the blonde was quick to scurry over - in shadow form.
Easy to see if you were looking for it, or exceptionally observant, Mochi looked almost identical to a shadow as she slid across the ground before reforming near the fox-like student with one arm up over her head and giving a big "Hoiiii!" in greeting. To Miroru it might seem like a woman in baggy blue overalls with long blonde hair and takoyaki-themed earrings in her ears just plain rose up out of the ground, if she hadn't noticed the shadow. "If you mean the Ultra QWork Study Program, this is the right place!"
Hands settling on her hips, she had a big broad smile on her face as she introduced herself very simply and with no real elaboration at all, thrusting a hand out for a handshake rather than a bow. "I'm Mo'!"
Mochi wasn't going to force the handshake and roll right past it if it was turned down, but if Miroru did shake her hand she'd probably notice what seemed like a complete lack of bones in her solid-but-squishy grip.

Miroru turned and tilted her head as she felt bodyheat move through the area, flattened against the ground, staring at the shadow with a curious frown until Mochi emerged, startling all the same and jerking back, one arm folded past her face in surprise. "E-EH?! A blonde?! Aren't you Japanese?" She cried aloud, shocked.
"Q-QWork study..? Is that...a ... pun..?" The redhead paled abruptly. "Oh no. I thought that was a typo. Please tell me you're not one of those goofy heroes that quips every other sentence, are you..?"
She looked down at the hand offered, entirely off guard, and took it out of sheer social pressure to conform, abruptly letting go with a shriek! "YOU'RE SQUISHY!!!"

Of all the reactions she could have gotten Mochi didn't expect her hair color to be the thing that was focused on, tipping her head to one side. It was true for sure that blonde hair wasn't common in Japan - at least, undyed blonde hair anyways - but as far as Mochi knew she was absolutely full Japanese. From her parents to their parents and so on. But she'd address that later, giving a short laugh at the pun reaction and leaving that question unanswered as well as she introduced herself and shook the other girl's hand. The reaction to that was one Mochi wasn't surprised by, even if she hadn't gotten it in awhile, and in the past it probably would have made her self conscious but the Mochi of today just raised her hand up to lightly wave it from side to side.
"Yup! I'm 100% Mochi-shaped Goo! But, don't worry, I don't really do the quips thing a lot or anything - its just easier for people to remember a weird, fun name than something cut and dry, I think." She explained, completely glossing over the fact that she often said stupid or silly things regardless. Bringing her arms up to cross over her chest and closing her eyes in mock-seriousness, she made her hair swish from side to side almost like it was in a breeze. "My hair is like this due to my Quirk, you see."
Which was probably not true at all - her dad had the same blonde hair she did - but it wasn't impossible that there was some weird Quirk-y trait passed down over the generations. She'd have to ask if her pre-Quirk great grandparents had any blondes or not.
Peeking one eye open again, and then the other, Mochi let the girl have a moment to get her bearings before unfolding her arms and clapping her hands together. "You're here for some advice and practice though, right? Figure out ways to make your Quirk more useful at your job, or in your studies...?" She left that question lingering - the two main reasons people trained their quirks was for work stuff or hero-in-training stuff. Granted, it could totally be some girl who was up to no good... but Mochi considered herself a good judge of character!

"... is your hair goo too?" Miroru asked without thinking, unsure if it was actual person-hair or just hair-shaped blobby bits. "And good. I really just wanted some help finding good ways to use my quirk as a capture tool, I'm not looking for a one-way ticket to the psych ward from being mentally punished by quips and quotables for hours at a time."
"Yeah, I am. Studies is the right guess. No prizes for nailing which school it is, either. I've got a useful quirk, but it's sort of all or nothing- utility, or complete overkill when it comes to interacting with criminals. I really don't think there's many situations where its most commonly available offensive application can really be used in this line of work, so I'm trying to expand my horizons and look for other ideas instead. Is that in line with the workshopping you were offering, miss... um... do you just want me to call you Mo?"

"Yup!" Mochi repeated, to confirm that first question about her hair. She got the impression this girl really didn't like quips, but the important part in there was the mention of using a Quirk as a capture tool. She could think of lots of things like that for a lot of different Quirks, some that she had seen from others and some she had tried herself and some that she was just thinking of randomly as what-if's. She was still listening too, though, and she nodded along. UAU student with a not-immediately-super-useful Quirk when it came to heroism was a more common thing than you'd think.
Her own Quirk had been like that until what, second or third year?
"Mo, Mochi, whatever you like!" Mochi paused after a moment to raise one finger up to tap on her chin as she glanced up at the ceiling before adding. "Although probably not Pretender or Punichi, since I'm not working, and Mogu Mocchan is more a hobby nickname than anything." Mochi had a lot of names and nicknames, mostly because she didn't mind whatever people wanted to call her. That was neither here nor there though, and she quickly glanced back down at the girl and asked: "More importantly, what's your Quirk do? What kind of experiments have you done to try and make it capture-y? Just so we don't go repeatin' ideas you've already had and all that... Although sometimes an old idea ends up working later once you understand your Quirk better, so I wouldn't scrap them either."

"Interesting... it looks glossy and lovely. Is- it EASIER to keep looking nice since it's goo, or HARDER?" She couldn't resist asking.
"Mochi, then, if it's alright with you. Are you sure you don't want your more official hero title? You ARE working, after all. Leading independent study courses for heroic-adjacent topics would be considered working by... anybody else ever," pointed out the redhead.
Then the question. Her quirk. Miroru twisted her lips up and sighed a bit. "It depends. On... the weather. And the time. And the location. I can control electromagnetic energy. Direct current, magnetic fields, light, that sort of stuff. Super useful if I want to turn on the television without the remote or send a text message without digging out my phone, but in most cases, it's pretty useless for captures unless I get to jam a fork in an outlet and they don't, you know. Just leave the area. It's got a ton of utility to like, deny vision to an area, direct evacuations, all the stuff you'd expect from being able to control light, but when it comes to collars, it's just me and the Wonder Twins," Miroru said, holding up her fists. "... which only gets you so far when you're my size."
