The chain disappeared into thin air too? How convenient. She could only imagine the types of crimes Jun could secretly pull off if she wasn't such a nerd and fell into villainy one day. Not that she hoped that would happen, that would only create a bigger pain in the ass for her and everyone else here. ''Why? Did you get into a fight with your mom or something?'' As blunt as ever she showed absolutely no tact in asking her question.

''Uh huh. If you say so 'senpai'. I still don't trust any of them further than I can throw them.'' And the words of Jun alone wasn't going to be enough. It was her right to be a stubborn little shit and she wasn't about to let anyone change who she was. What she said next about the support course made Yoko pause and stare at Jun with that judgmental stare again. ''...Weird, okay so they're all nutjobs. I'll keep that in mind.''

She absentmindedly took out her phone and started scrolling through a list of games, thinking about whichever one she was going to boot up later. ''Finals? Does that mean you're about to become a hero?'' A girl like her? Yoko hoped that if she ever needed a hero to save her it wouldn't be such a nervous wreck, or someone who was such a big fan of potatoes. The slight change in Jun didn't go unnoticed and she had to admit getting to see more of another emotion quirk was very enticing. The only part that upset her was the fact that she would have to use her own quirk too. ''Maybe.'' She concluded, putting her phone down on the table. ''You helped me, but that doesn't mean I trust you.'' She pointed a finger at Jun. ''I get that you're a hero student so you've got everything to prove and nothing to lose, but our situations aren't the same. I've got something to lose here.'' She pointed back at herself with her thumb. ''I'm a Yanai, that's not a nobody name in the hero world.'' It was a complete lie meant to mask the truth behind her hesitation. So far Yoko had been eagerly ruining the Yanai name wherever she could with her behavior. The excuse she gave Jun didn't add up, but it was a nice cover that protected her from showing more vulnerability. ''So maybe. If I can learn something from it then you have a deal. But if you waste my time I'll hold that against you.'' She paused for a moment before continuing, using Jun's own phrasing. ''How does that sound?''

She never offered an explanation, so it was a mystery to Jun why her mother acted the way she did. She then shook her head. "I still have another year of classes. Not the funnest thing in the world, but we're not here to have fun." She tilts her head. "You shouldn't rule them all out, though. There's a few people I can recommend you connect with, get to know a little. Maybe help expand your level of knowledge?" She raised an eyebrow as Yoko pointed the finger at her, setting her hands on the table. "Heroes aren't people that are meant to be praised, and anyone that is one shouldn't be looking for validation," she says, slowly. "We are a special branch of police. As such, we are civil servants, people that put our lives on the line for the good of Japan and, more importantly, her people. I am not here to prove anything to anyone, I'm here to continue my family's tradition of service." She was solemn when she stated this, and it was something she was comfortable with sharing. "I'm not forcing you to share your secrets or to even show me what your quirk can really do. But I do want everyone to succeed. Whether you want to test your boundaries or not is entirely up to you." She smiled, something small and genuine. "Whether you learn something or not is entirely on you. I just want to give you that opportunity to grow, away from prying eyes." Yanai Yoko,

''Yeah, well... That's family isn't it?'' She looked away as she stuck her hands in her hoodie pocket. Had she said too much? Nah, Jun wasn't reading into what she was saying, or at least she didn't think she was. Besides, she was getting uncomfortable with Jun seeming sad so she couldn't help but offer a few words of solidarity being that she was a fellow family hater.

''Guess we aren't. If school was fun it wouldn't be school.'' She said, looking up at the ceiling as she thought about how she had her part-time job to look after as soon as the weekend rolled around. ''Oh yeah? Like who? Not the one that has a girlfriend that adopts people, that's too weird, and I won't put up with that.'' She kind of wished she had taken more food, was it too late for seconds? She glanced at her bowl before looking back at Jun. ''This one girl I talked to mentioned two names, Kei and Ana. They ring any bells?'' Maybe she could gather some more intel on either of them, assuming Jun was more sociable than herself. ''My 'level of knowledge' is fine, by the way.'' She sneered.

''Well... that's just how you see it.'' She said with her usual grumpy expression, having no actual comeback to what Jun was saying. ''How very noble of you. I assure you not everyone in our school feels that way.'' She added sarcastically, thinking over Jun's offer a little more. Why was she being so sincere? Didn't she know people would take advantage of that or bully her? So annoying, if only she could control her quirk perfectly she would have no reason to even spare her senior another thought. ''F-Fine!'' She gave up with a frustrated sigh. ''But I'll learn something, I always do. And I don't want a crowd there, it's just you and me, no friends, no girlfriends, boyfriends, parents or plus one or any of that. No prying eyes, like you said.'' She sat up a little more straightening out her back. ''Is that our deal? Don't expect me to shake on it. I hate that shit, but that doesn't mean I go around breaking deals either.''

My parents are in Osaka, so you don't have to worry about that either, and all my friends are busy with their own things right now. So it'd just be us." And somewhere in the back of her mind she heard Momo saying, "It's a date!" Which was promptly shoved out of her head. "And uh, even if you wanted to shake, it'd be better for us to not. I don't do touch very well..." Which, again, led her to thinking about Momo. This was becoming an endless cycle, and a major problem. Maybe Sadako could give her some good advice to figure out what to do about that. "I do promise to keep it between us, though. And that some good will come of it!" It might be empty to Yoko, but Jun held onto such oaths tightly, like the ninja of old. This did lead her into talking about the support students more in-depth. "Kei and Ana are incredibly talented. Kei was the one I was talking about earlier, and is a standup guy! Ana...she's unique." She paused, thinking on that one. "I'd argue Ana has more talent and ability than Kei, but she's...odd. Very blunt, hardly understands people. I keep forgetting that, and she ends up picking up things from me that might end up hurting her in the long run...we're roommates, so we have to put up with one another a lot. If you absolutely need something done, as well as have it fantastical, she's your go to. Otherwise, Kei's capable of making beautiful and grounded pieces if you need them." Another pause. "Just don't flirt with him in earshot of Yaoyao. She's vicious. And violent. Still trying to work with her on that..." Yanai Yoko,

''Perfect. That settles it.'' She was the same tone of grumpy, yet shot Jun a single finger gun as she rummaged through her hoodie pocket with her other hand. Alone time with another girl? Yoko could perhaps entertain the thought of a date if she wasn't internally freaking out about the fact that she would be using her quirk. Any chance she had at building even a friendship with Jun would be dashed the moment she saw her full transformation. That would be the moment Jun turned on her and ridiculed her, but this time she was ready for it.

No acquaintances showing up and no touch? She blinked her eyes at Jun. ''Well shit, maybe you aren't so bad after all senpai.'' She took a pack of cigarettes out of her pocket and put it on the table. ''Do you smoke?'' She kept her hand on the pack and would slide one towards Jun if she said yes. ''If not it'll be your funeral. Broken promises are a pain in the neck.'' It was the exact reason why she never got her hopes up, never let her guard down around anyone. If she got her hopes up about their sparring match working out, then she would be all the more crushed when it turned out bad. That's why it was easier to just be a hardass from the beginning.

As their conversation progressed Yoko remained her usual gloomy self, but did calm down considerably from her earlier angry rants. ''Ana sounds like a shithead.'' She replied bluntly, playing with a cigarette with one hand. ''I guess I'll see her skill for myself one of these days.'' She was completely glossing over the fact that her and Ana seemingly had a few traits in common. ''Flirt with him?'' She was visibly repulsed at the thought. ''I'd rather die than flirt with a guy. He can keep his psycho girlfriend, but if she attacks me first I'll kick her ass.'' She put the cigarette in her mouth and stood up. ''What are you doing now?'' She pointed back over her shoulder. ''I'm going outside for some fresh air.''

Like the yacht party that took place a while back, she didn't approve of vices among the student body. It looked bad on both their institution and themselves for the public to see them with such problems, and the only one she remotely gave a pass to was Sumi. Solely because her quirk depended on it. "Smoking's bad for you," she says, looking back up at Yoko. She was a piece of work, but it was possible to shape her into a tool for good. Not like Jun had that capability, it had to be something that Yoko wanted and she was getting the vibe that she didn't want that. Couldn't hurt to try. "Ana's not too bad, once you get to know you. You just have to learn how to talk to her." She then pressed her lips together. "I mean, if you're not into the whole dating thing I get it. But uh...Yaoyao is a lot stronger than you might think. Just...fair warning." There were a few times where she sparred with the Princess of Darkness, and each time it was hard. "Oh, um, I should probably get back to studying. I can give you my number though if you need anything, and it'll help when we're ready to set up the session!" She pulled out her phone, ready to send a text. Yanai Yoko

She looked at Jun with a blank expression before shrugging. ''Well, yeah. I don't smoke because I love myself.'' Although she was used to the whole preachy talk and all she didn't take Jun bringing it up as preachy. Not the way her own mom had anyway. If Jun really was a nerd as she had figured, then this was all very consistent. Nerds never smoked in fact, most of them had never even held a cigarette. Yoko banked on Jun being that kind of nerd, and thus uncomfortable talking about smoking. ''You'd be cooler if you tried it y'know. You're defying death every day you smoke and don't get sick.''

''I'll take your word for it.'' So that was one person speaking in the favor of Ana. She was still going to form her own opinions of the support student when she met her, and if she was a shithead then Yoko would call her that when the time came. ''No yeah, guys are the worst.'' She shook her head gently. ''But people that are already in a relationship? Not even I would stoop that low, that's some pathetic loser shit.'' She was a lot stronger than Jun thought too, but she didn't bring it up since from the sounds of it her and Yaoyao would never get a reason to fight each other. ''Sure thing, senpai.'' She took out her own phone while keeping the unlit cigarette in-between her lips. Once Jun texted her she sent a quick text back. It was just a simple ''sup''.

''I'll be on my way.'' She held a hand over her head as she walked towards the exit that lead outside. ''See you later, don't study too hard.'' Once she finally got outside she lit her cigarette and looked up at the clouds as they drifted by. Her attention was drawn to her phone once more as she looked at her brief chatlog with Jun. She renamed the new girl in her contacts to 'Potato Girl' before putting her phone away and walking back towards the dorms.
