[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... In the days after everyone's quirks went back to their original owners, Jun could be found cheerfully doing work within the kitchen within the dormitories. Normally, she'd just go down to the cafeteria and get food herself, but this particular day she was in the mood to make things herself. On top of it all, she would be singing a song that would otherwise be cheerful, if she was on key (Jun didn't know how to sing), knew the words (she had all the laws of Osaka prefecture memorized, so there wasn't much room), or could remotely speak English (the song itself was in English, which was arguably one of her worst subjects; she could barely speak, read, or write it). And while the meal she was preparing was looking fantastic (mashed potatoes with cheese, bacon, and a number of spices with a block of tofu with fish flavoring), the kitchen itself was a wreck. Vessels that were used for preparing the meal were all over the place, dirty and precariously placed. Packaging would be all over the counters, and food remains were baked into the counter. One might ask themselves (or the reader; I see you, stalkers!), what is going on? Is this really Jun? And the answer might surprise you: yes. Except in this case she was still recovering from her fight with the Concoctor and was on pain medication. Medication that was making her act outside her head. It was Jun, but also not Jun. And can you really blame the girl for wanting to make her own food? Masao Ando

Masao was on her way to the common kitchen when an odd sound passed her ear. A bird singing? No, it was much rougher, maybe even a little grating. Could it be that a villain had snuck into the school and was using a quirk to ruin the perfectly fine ambience of the dormitories? It was unlikely given the defenses UAU had at its disposal, but you never knew. Ready to face whatever was awaiting her in the kitchen, Masao increased her walking pace, going a little faster until she came to a halt and just... Stared in silence.

She didn't know that Junsuina Kanjo was one to sing, especially not so poorly. Actually up close the singing wasn't so bad, doubly so when you took into account just how bad the kitchen looked, making her block out everything else as she looked around in disbelief. How was it possible to trash the kitchen so much while cooking? She didn't know much about Jun's background, but it was safe to assume they weren't raised remotely the same way from how uncouth this whole situation was.

She took a deep breath before raising her voice. ''Kanjo-san.'' She started, hoping to get her attention, finally opening her eyes when her singing ceased. ''I see that you two was thinking of fixing a meal for yourself. A rather nice-looking one I might add.'' The one saving grace Jun had right now, her plate of food actually looked really good. ''I wish I could say the same for your surroundings.'' She wasn't going to attack her singing. It was already embarrassing enough that she had been caught in the middle of it, and Jun wasn't named Ylva so there was no need to go for the kill. ''I don't see you in the kitchen often. Did you decide to skip the cafeteria food today?'' Without so much as a second thought to what she was doing Masao started cleaning up Jun's mess, but still looked her way when she asked her question.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun turned to look at Ando, her eyes blinking out of unison. If there was such thing as a stoned Jun face, Ando was looking at it. "Look! I made taters!" She showed her plate, almost dipping it a little too much before she took a forkful of food, shoving it in her mouth. "Ah whanned tah-tors!" While answering the cafeteria question...it wasn't much of an answer. There wasn't much telling what was going on in her head. She gulped down what she head, looking at the mess she made. "Ohhhh. Yeah, that's a lot. But taters first. Gorgon-san said I had to take it easy, so I made taters. But only for me. I sorry." She'd watch Ando work, rocking from side to side as she continued to eat her meal. "...Wait. Did you want taters, Andy-san? I can mape...ma-eeee...make! Some for you!" She set her plate down, reaching for the pot she made her own with. Followed by singing yet another awful song rendition, off-key and in poor English. Masao Ando,

Seeing Jun's stoned face and her exclamation caused her to pause for a moment. ''...Yes, you did.'' She confirmed, those were indeed taters as she liked to call them. ''It is good to listen to the needs of your body. No hero can function without sustenance after all.'' She had never dealt with anyone who was in the state that she perceived Jun to be in, and it wasn't like she knew Jun that well, but even she could tell that this wasn't how she usually acted. ''Gorgon-sensei did? It's good that you are following her advice. I wasn't looking to have taters myself, so save your apologies for someone else.'' She started wiping the counter clean with a piece of cloth soaked in hot water, wringing it over the sink before she got to work.

''That's quite all right. My diet does not contain food such as taters. Although, I suppose trying it wouldn't hurt.'' She couldn't put a finger on it, but it felt unsafe for her to leave Jun alone right now. She was clearly under the effects of some powerful medication and Masao didn't trust most students in this school to look after Jun. ''That song, what is it from?'' She assumed it was some kind of reference she wasn't getting. Even if Jun was singing in poor English, there were still some words she could make out from the mess. ''Also, Kanjo-san, this isn't my place to ask since we hardly know each other, but are you all right?'' She turned to rinse the cloth over the sink before hanging it to dry over the tap. ''You do seem rather unlike your usual self. Did your visit to the infirmary make you so?''

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun paused, the water running under into her pot as she zoned out for a moment. "I dunno! My Mom sang it to me when I was little. She doesn't want me to go to school here, but it was either this or the hard life for both of us!" She grinned, the water filling over the sides as she was getting dangerously close to spilling one of her greatest secrets. And she didn't even know it. The other questions made her pause, and as she shut the water off and moved the pot towards the stove (splashing water all over the place and herself) she began to think. "Uhhhhhh. Well. Gorgan-san picked me up from the hospital, and she had to do that 'cause I got hurt. I fought a Wish lady with lotsa swords and bad guys and stuff. Look!" She pulled up her shirt just enough to show a bandage over her abdomen, something that was out of character. "I almost died!" she says in a stage whisper, giggling after. "But I dieded once already, so it's okay! Nothin' can keep me down! Where's those taters..." She began to sift through the packaging on the counters, spilling over a box of the instant potatoes in the process. "Ohhhh, here they are!" Masao Ando

...Okay, she was way out of her depth with this one.

She didn't typically hang around people. Only her support classmates whenever class was in session and Ylva begrudgingly because that was part of her school obligations. Jun was... Definitely not herself and whatever she was going through Masao couldn't really relate or draw on her own experiences. ''I see. You're forging your own path.'' She couldn't imagine going against her own parents' wishes, but it also just so happened that her parents had pushed for her to be a hero for as long as she could remember. That wasn't the case with Jun? That meant that her passing the exam and attending UAU was done truly of her own volition. Luckily for Jun, Masao wasn't the type to pry about her past, especially not when she was doing her best to just navigate this unexpected social encounter as is.

''Careful, the water..'' She started, but cut herself off as she watched Jun spill water everywhere. It was no use, the girl was clearly on some form of autopilot and not entirely in control of her fine motor skills at the moment. She took a small step back when Jun showed her, her bandages, only looking briefly before looking Jun in the eyes. ''I hadn't the faintest idea that such an event had occurred.'' She knew that a lot had gone down recently with the Dream World incident. Heck, she had been caught in it too, but to hear that Jun, one of her fellow students had almost died? Not only that, if her words were to be believed she might have died before? ''What a fortunate thing that you didn't. The school would be markedly different if you were absent.'' Although she remained stoic it was her way to try and deliver a genuine compliment. ''Kanjo-san-'' She let out a small sigh as the girl proceeded to spill a box of instant potatoes. ''Let me assist you.'' She took a step forward. ''Consider it a collaboration between the hero and the support course.''

Do you think they'll make it?" She reached up, wiping at her face as she sniffled. "This is almost as bad as Gen getting my quirk, or Ylva not listening to me. And those are pretty bad!" She set the box down, incredibly disheartened by the fact that precious potatoes had gone to waste. "Masao-san, can you forgive me? I wasted food like this, and I normally don't do that, and and and I just wanted to make you taters!" Masao Ando

''Of course, Kanjo-san, they merely fell on the floor.'' She crouched down to pick up the spilled potatoes. What she said next started to complete part of the puzzle of why Jun was feeling the way she was. ''I see... You must be referring to what happened at Dream World? It was a tough ordeal, but you made it through.'' She stood back up, putting the potatoes on the counter. ''It may not feel that way, but you are all the stronger for having made it through, Kanjo-san.''

She smirked when Jun asked whether she could forgive her or not. ''Naturally, there is nothing to apologize for and I never thought ill of you in the first place.'' Was she doing okay? Was she reassuring her? She had never had to comfort someone like this before. Since she grew up pretty much on her own and was always dedicated to her craft and to her mission there was little time for such things as friends, allies or companions. Not that they were worthless, it was quite contrary, she just didn't have the time for any of it, or so she thought.

Jun wasn't exactly a friend, probably, but she needed someone right now and that someone was apparently her in this given context. ''Kanjo-san, I am not particularly hungry so do not worry about me. Instead if you need to converse about something, anything... I am here to hear you out.''

Can you still help me make the taters so we can eat dinner together?" It wasn't a complete turn around, but it was at least something. "I wanna talk about my models, and what anime you watch, and your boyfriend, and whatever other stuff girls talk about 'cause I dunno what girls talk about 'cause they're weird. Like me." ''As you wish, I will aid you in the cooking of the 'taters'.'' She nodded her head firmly. The topics Jun brought up were curious to say the least and she felt even more unprepared than she had before. Typical girl talk... What did girls typically talk about? ''By models, do you mean to say that you are involved in the modelling industry?'' She wouldn't expect that of Jun, but with students like Auden at the school it wasn't unthinkable that hero students got into modelling to further their careers. ''I do not know who told you about my supposed 'boyfriend'. There is none, I do not have time for such things as frivolous as romance.'' There was a bitterness to her tone when talking about love. It didn't come up often, most likely because she was a bit of an abrasive person and because she hardly knew anyone well enough to talk about personal stuff like this. ''Between my studies and my training I do not have time for anime, perhaps you could tell me about what you watch instead?'' She was slowly realizing how boring of a person she was. If it wasn't talking about heroism or weapons her life was extremely shallow.

''Also, a note. What you call weird I call being authentic. Many people are scared to be who they really are, Kanjo-san. You do not strike me as one of them. You stand up for others, you call out wrong behavior even if it might put you in a worse standing with your peers.'' She vividly remembered Jun trying to stop that idiot Yoko from giving Michael alcohol. ''Besides, if you're looking to inquire about what girls usually talk about I'm afraid you're asking the wrong person.'' She paused, looking down at the kitchen counter. ''If my name wasn't enough indication, I was not raised as a girl. My father desperately wanted a boy to carry on the Ando legacy and inherit the armor. Perhaps he sought to defy fate itself when he gave me a boy's name, or had some other reason.'' She looked over at Jun again. ''So, much like I can infer from your situation, I do not know what girls talk about.''

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun placed some butter on the counter, thinking. "Yes. No. IIIIII work for Auden, but I don't look good enough to be a model. So I build models." That in of itself could be confusing. And what made this even worse was she didn't elaborate. "Whaaaaaa?" Jun leaned over to Masao, blinking. "Whoa. I totally get that! We should totally form a, 'don't need a guy' club!" Anyone remotely close to Jun knew her aversion to touch, and even more to dating. The latter was explained as, "There is no time for it!" And then the anime comment caused a gasp to get stuck in Jun's throat. "We gotta bridge something sometime! Like Tank Police...or Gunbuster...or Alita!" A pause. "Wait, one of those isn't like the others...oh well! It's on the list now!" Jun had a staggered blink as Masao explained her childhood. She didn't know why, but some of it didn't make sense to her. But that was fine. "Oh. That's sad. I feel sad for you, Masao. I just saw fun stuff my dad did and he taught me stuffs. Like comics, and model building, and fishing, and history- WAIT! You don't know about girl stuff either? We should, like, invite Yaoyao out here! And she could teach us some stuff!" She fumbled with her pocket, her phone falling out and smacking against the ground. "Oops." Masao Ando

''Auden Verchetty? I see, I was not aware the two of you were acquainted.'' It barely answered her question, but it did clarify that Jun didn't mean models as in the ones that went on the covers of magazines, although that was Auden's whole business... Whatever, it was an answer, well, a kind of answer, but it was as much as she needed from the clearly overworked Jun. When Jun leaned over she instinctively leaned a little bit away from her. ''Is... That the type of clubs students form these days?'' She asked, a bit perplexed. Did she suggest that their lack of pursuing a romantic partner was something that should be celebrated and not simply a lifestyle choice? Also, did Jun not have a fear of touch? Perhaps it wasn't a fear exactly, but she knew Jun didn't like people being up in her personal space. It only further cemented that something was clearly wrong with her, that the medicine was making her act all weird.

''I doubt I would watch anime on my own, but if you want to arrange a screening of these series I wouldn't mind watching them with you.'' She smirked. She wasn't sure if Jun meant right now, or later, or another day entirely, but she wanted to keep her company as long as she was like this. Since the medicine was presumably numbing her too, chances were that her situation wasn't going to get any easier once they wore off and she had to return to the day-to-day. ''Your father sounds like a good guy.'' More than she could say for her own.

''Well, no I haven't the faintest. Frankly it has so little to do with being a hero or a weaponsmith that the thought of engaging in such activities never crossed my mind.'' She looked down at Jun's phone, before bending down to pick it up for her. ''By Yaoyao, do you mean Hada-senpai's girlfriend? I do not mean to be crass when I say this, but she does not strike me as the most amiable individual.'' She handed the phone back to Jun.

She's crass, and vulgar, and can be mean sometimes, but she's a great big teddy bear!" She stared at her phone screen, thinking. "What was I doing again...? Oh right, taters!" She put her phone away, turning back to the task at hand. Which was dumping salt in her pot. "We can make a day of it! I have a disc player, and we can plug it up in the commons, and have pillows and blankets and stuff like a big sleepover!" She'd start adding a few other things, like butter and milk all haphazard-like, pausing every so often. "Do all you do is be a hero and weapon fling? How do you weapon fling...? Is it like that weird axe throwing stuff? Or is it more like archery? Do you have a bow? Like a samurai?" She looked over at Masao, blinking. "'Cause samurai are kinda bad. They scheme, and they're mean to other people, and they don't have honor...wanna know who does have honor? Ninjas!" And then she'd strike a dorky pose, chopping with one of her hands. "Ninjaaaaaaa!"
