It was almost a fair trade. Normally, Elias required quite the monetary sum for his services, but occasionally, other similarly specialized services were adequate recompense. Like eliminating those that proved to be a thorn in his side. Maybe he took extra interest, given the new face in town, too. Wherever she was from, Elias hadn't heard of her, so she was definitely new to Japan's criminal underbelly. Yet, she found the Hibernacula. Kudos to her. It was there, in the club below the club, hidden beneath Nirvana, that Elias could be found and contacted for his more illicit dealings. There, he was known as Djinn, the Wish-Maker. So, a new face, an eye-catching one at that, appeared before him and requested a rather specialized weapon. Given the man's extensive resources and reach, it wasn't difficult to see the blade forged, but he demanded a demonstration in kind. The blade was to be used to eliminate a rather rowdy group of vigilantes that had avoided his underlings - until now. Sitting along the edge of the building, clad in his villainous attire and owl mask, he watched. The vigilantes, known as the Fist of the Unheard, were holed up in an abandoned apartment building across the street. The place had been set ablaze some few months ago, and reconstruction hadn't yet begun. The plan of attack was entirely up to the new girl. If they fled, Elias was ready to pounce, but if even one of these fucking nuisances got away, the sword would be reclaimed - by one means or another. That would keep her motivated. "Let's see what you've got," Elias said, waiting for Olivia to make her move.

New to Japan, but not new to this lifestyle her instincts led her to exactly where she needed to be. Having nothing better to do and a lack of her arsenal and Amber, she immediately found the seediest place in town. She would shake down a few people who underestimated her as just a 'little girl', and yet the two before this one ended up in the hospital for their naivety.[break][break] "Hibernacula? Ya, I'll take the side entrance."[break][break] The benefit of being quirkless was that Olivia could blend into a crowd and get past specific sensors. Her senses sharpened as she didn't have a fallback. If she got injured, it hurt; if she fought, it wasn't easy. Still, the boss of this place was amiable, and when Olivia laid out her situation, they came to a deal, one where she would benefit the most. Testing the first of her new arsenal and doing work she already did for a living? No prob.[break][break]
She would pull up her mask to cover the lower half of her face and inspect the building and her new 'Armor-Piercer,' giving it a couple of swings. It functioned nearly identically, but she could tell that she'd need some adjustments on the hilt and that the high-tensile steel wire that made up the whip would need to be exchanged for carbon steel. It was pricey, but everything down to the last detail should be perfect. If one slips up, she dies. [break][break]
Pulling herself up the wall flexibly, she landed on a burned-out window frame, catching a group of three huddled around a small desk. She would thrust the 'Armor-Piercer' as a blade before flicking her wrist down and splitting the segments that dug into the first person, and Olivia pulled on the weapon again, making a jagged tear across the man's chest.[break][break]
"Hey. I'll need upgrades to the sharpness of the blade that should have split the man in two on the first tug."[break][break]
Bouncing off the window and into the darkness of the room, she took a few moments to watch them. What were these criminals capable of, and why did the Wish-maker need them gone?

Beneath his mask, a smirk crawled across Elias's face. Zero hesitation, huh? Well, well, well. What exactly had hollowed this young girl's soul so? Robbing a life from the world required emptied caverns, an essential something missing from inside someone. Whatever this essential something was, Elias exhumed his own quite some time ago. This one had nearly split a man in half. Whatever was missing inside her, it was familiar... and extensive.
"That shouldn't be a problem," Elias mused over comms.
Little was beyond his reach now. In two years' time, Elias developed one of the most successful nightclubs in Tokyo while simultaneously carving out authority over a sizable portion of Japan's arms trade and info dealings. With Ouroboros behind him and the Hibernacula below - yeah, he could see the sword sharpened.
"Need any help down there?" He asked.
Meanwhile, the Unheard mobilized. Olivia cleaved one of their guys' chests open. That couldn't go unanswered. The other two would turned about, hunting for the assailant. One was armed with an assault rifle, while the other drew a handgun. And that was only the beginning. Both seemingly turned invisible. And therein lied the problem.
Quirks held no duplicates. There were no exact twins, but that didn't mean siblings didn't exist. Many quirks were similar in nature. Who knew how many pyros were out there? The Unheard? Unseen would have been a more apt description. Each of their members possessed a quirk that made them difficult to keep track of. One of those tracking Olivia now had a form of active camouflage that blended him in with his surroundings, while the other created a shadowy miasma around himself that obscured him almost entirely.
Measures had been taken, measures to ensure they would not escape this time, but first Elias would see what the new girl had in her.

She may have already had her prize in hand but wanted more. If this man were a resource to rebuild her arsenal, she would play her part until he became a roadblock. Not that he needed to know that, and based on her intuition, she doubted it would have mattered much. It was foolish to put your faith into one person and Elias didn't seem like a fool which was a nice change of pace compared to Cali. [break][break] "Help? No, but it is a free country."[break][break] Invisible or otherwise, these two were more of the same, entirely beholden to their quirks. What happened to Olivia was tragic and yet, in a way, a blessing. When you can step outside the box, it offers a new perspective, and she liked to believe that it was because of this incident. She would steel herself, crouching down to maximize her stealth potential and held her breath. A single small fragment from the building was by her feet and she'd put it between her fingers and give it a solid flick to the other direction. A quick pivot from the two stealthed individuals and Olivia had a good approximation of where they were. She'd swing the sword out horizontally to bisect the two with a stronger swing than before to compensate for the differences between this and her old sword. She'd flick off the blood from the blade and stand up, hitting her comms.[break][break]
"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that wasn't the full 'gang.' If it was, yikes."

One of the Unheard sprinted for the building's front entrance. It was boarded up, but with one kick, the wooden panel groaned. The second cracked it open. He thought himself safe under the veil of another form of invisibility, but that didn't save him from the red threads that wrapped around his throat. Elias yanked the man into the air and, with a resounding crack, snapped his neck.
"Not this time," Elias muttered to himself, his mask now swapped out for a pair of thermal goggles. Perhaps it would have been wise to offer Olivia the same, but this was as much about gauging a potential investment as it was pulling up some weeds.
The hanging body slumped to the ground, dead. It was time to plug up the front entrance.
"They've cracked the front door. I've done away with the rabble that tried to run and will head off any others that attempt the same. And no, were it so easy. There should be a dozen of these guys."
Without another word, Elias plunged off the side of the building into free fall. His hands rose above his head and unleashed hundreds of red threads. The cords wove together, forming a parasail that caught the updraft and slowed the WIsh-Maker's descent.
The man landed on his feet, the threads receded, and he marched to the front entrance. His perch above provided greater oversight, but if any of the bastards had a quirk that masked their thermal signature, his goggles would be useless, which meant being up close to listen for them. Hopefully, Olivia could handle all the heavy lifting.

She knew she cut the members of the gang in two and yet visually they didn't appear bisected on the ground. Perhaps their quirks didn't deactivate on death? That all too familiar smell of rust permeated the space, and the reaction by Elias on the comms seemed to indicate they were truly disposed of. If there was something special about them, he likely would have spoken up.[break][break] "More for the test, then."[break][break] Olivia was nothing if not consistent. If doing this meant that she'd get the ideal weapon she wanted to test her usual maneuvers first. Moving over the bodies she'd enter the charred stairway, catching one of the gang moving in her direction. From the shadow of the staircase she would wait until this person passed a support. She would step forward and shoot her blade out in a straight line intentionally missing the grunt who readied his gun. Before he could shoot, Olivia quickly flick her wrist, which caused the blade to change direction and head back towards the man's blind spot, cleaving through his chest and without missing a beat she would move towards her next victim, pulling the 'Armor-Piercer' with her.[break][break]
"A little slow on the return."

The Unheard had proven quite a menace to much of Elias's clientele. They disrupted trade and stole weapons, interfering with powers beyond their ken. This was their comeuppance. They had evaded capture before due to their quirks, but once Elias tapped his network to track the punks down, it was easy enough to plan accordingly.
Two more had come in search of the fellow Elias had silenced just moments prior. They hadn't faired any better. The silent approach wouldn't last, however. Boot falls against dusted tile echoed through the groaning building. Its framework was haunted by the fires still. It made everything louder and easier to track. That said, the Unheard had to know it was a two-pronged attack now.
"Okay, that's enough of the bullshit! Who's out there!" The voice echoed through the rot and wreckage that littered the building's main stairwell.
Elias didn't answer, of course. Instead, he spoke lowly over comms, "we'll see to your sword when this is all said and done. Until then, focus on the task at hand. Think you can draw a few more of them down here?"
While waiting for a reply, Elias backed out of the entrance to the building he had been covering and looked upward. He could scale the side with his threads and get behind them while their focus shifted below. If they did make it past Olivia, however, nobody would be blocking the most convenient exit. There was a clear answer. It was just going to be loud.

Multitasking is no biggie."[break][break]
To emphasize this point she would lunge at another approaching gang member, this time swinging the blade as a regular blade to cut off his neck. She would wipe the resulting blood off of her face and give the weapon a strong flick to remove some of the blood before it got caked on. Rust this early could be a death sentence and it wasn't like Olivia had much else to support her at the moment. Hopefully this was something Elias could continue to help her with, she had an entire storage of about 30 weapons and pieces of equipment that she had to leave behind.[break][break] "4 more up here."[break][break] Comms would fall silent, and so would she; the remaining group had been backed up into a corner literally with two men armed and trained on the only entry way. Well the only entry way for most people. Olivia would take a running leap out the closest window and throw her blade back, using the momentum to swing her towards the shut window. With a tuck and roll she'd into the room and brandish her weapon.[break][break]
Nothing personal, just business."[break][break]
She would send the weapon out, moving past each one of them with a few tight flips and when she was done she would tug on the hilt. The result sent the extended blade out in a sweeping arc cleaving through the legs of everyone in the room. Panic and screams could be heard for a moment before Olivia, now able to take her time, would execute them one by one until the room fell silent.

Elias looked up the building side to find the young woman crashing through one of the windows above. Well, she shared a similar train of thought with him. Given how highly he thought of himself, that spoke well of the newcomer.
Elias threw his hand up, launching dozens of threads into one of the windows. Once inside, the threads latched onto every plank and any remaining piece of furniture. Anything to create some stable counterweight as Elias soared up along his threads, then similarly crashed through the window, one level below Olivia.
It wasn't a silent entry, and the stampede of the remaining two vigilantes grew louder as they honed in on Elias's position.
"Alright, you've done fucked up now!" One shouted.
They crashed through the rotted door and were immediately met by the threads of fate. Theirs had been sealed. The cords wrapped around each of the men's arms and legs then lifted them into the air and pulled. He couldn't literally rip them limb from limb. Not easily, at least, but he could leave them exposed. Like the first of their fellows, the two were subject to noose built of red threads that tugged at their necks until they broke.
The two bodies slumped to the ground. No escape this time, fellas.
"You alive up there?" He would ask.
If she was, well, the full gang was probably put down now. As he said earlier, there were only about twelve total. With their quirks overcome, they were easy enough prey. A clean win.

The reason she liked to use weapons that provided clean cuts and left bodies mostly intact was this exact process. It was how she amassed an entire arsenal back home and pocketed more than her fair share of cash. She would take wallets and anything that she could find worth some value, wiping off the blood before pocketing it. She would move through the doorway and make her way down, weapon still in hand, until she reached the same place as Elias. [break][break] "Yes. I have a full list of modifications for the weapon."[break][break] She would take out her burner phone and open it up to contacts, handing it to Elias if he agreed to put in the best contact number. From then on, it would be a matter of begrudgingly handing over the weapon; she didn't trust him just like she didn't trust anyone. However, if there was one thing she lived by, it was this: 'Relying on people and loyalty are entirely different things.' If he held up his end of the deal, they would be in business, if not? Well...lets just hope he didn't have to find out.
