Food wasn't just important because it tasted good, it was also important because she needed to eat to stay alive. So far she had been happy just living off of street food, takeout and whatever she could buy at restaurants, but since she had an apartment in Meguro and said apartment had a small kitchen, why not try to learn a thing or two about making her own food? She was pleasantly surprised to find that this was indeed a thing! That someone was offering baking classes and that she could learn how to make things such as bread, pastries or even cake!

Eager to learn she had showed up 15 minutes early to wait on the teacher, bombarding them with a few dozen overly excited questions before the rest of her baking classmates arrived. ''Do you like baking? I haven't tried it before but I think I'll like it!'' She gushed to the person next to her, the person she had been paired up with. ''I'm Amber.'' She smiled, using her fake name. ''I love a good bread, I hope we get to make bread, what kind of baked goods do you like? If it's bread maybe I can make some for you one of these days when I become a pro!''

Pro assassin and pro baker, she was picking up skills left and right! Maybe she could open her own bakery one day and make a killing, as in the type that makes her a lot of money, by selling special cakes.

No one could expect on where in the life would lead you to after reading a manga on the corner of convenience store to fill up a free time. Because of that she found herself amongst the eager baker and now she felt out of place. The girl that she teamed up with looks very gung ho to attend the class. Well,might as well humor herself a bit by teasing her team mate a little bit. Nice to meetcha' Amber, it is funny how your name is Amber cos my name is Ash now all we need to find is someone with the name of wood to complete the set... wood meet the amber of fire to produce Ash Kirara yapping nonsensically without any direction, not like she would meet her again after this class is over. As far as baked good, I like baked alaska. It has baked on it's name after all. So, you were talking about going pro... why? Kirara raise a question bluntly.

She had no reason to suspect Kirara of lying. After all, why would she? Who would lie during a baking class like this of all people? Well except for Kirara and herself, maybe, only if she was asked whether she was secretly a trained assassin. Otherwise she would never have to lie, right? Nevertheless, when Ash told her joke, Amber was practically dying laughing, slapping the table because she had never heard anything that funny before. ''You're funny! I don't know what a baked alaska is, but I want to try one!'' She beamed enthusiastically.

''Going pro?'' She blinked her eyes, looking a little bit clueless before she smiled again.

''Why, because I might become a pro baker one day! Who knows, maybe I'm like, super good at this baking thing!'' She replied optimistically, always looking forward to learning something new. The fact that 'going pro' could be misconstrued as her talking about becoming a hero was completely lost on her. There was so much she didn't know about the world and what exactly pro heroes were was just another thing she didn't know. ''So...'' She looked at the ingredients in front of them with a blank expression. ''Where do you think we start?'' She picked up a bowl. ''Is this to be used as some kind of weapon? The empty space down the middle seems wasteful, but I suppose if you swung it hard enough it could do some damage to a person. What do you think, Ash?''

She raised her eyebrow feeling unsure if she heard it right or not, admittedly she lose interest on what she was saying midway through but suddenly got jolt back in when she partially hear the last sentence - it raises a question on her mind. However, before she could ask her any question - suddenly the door open. A fragile looking elderly woman that could easily buckles down to the ground at anytime soon if it wasn't for the cane that she is holding, followed by a tall young man that exudes intense authoritative aura and the large scar stretch across his face doesn't help his first impression enters the room and eventually stops at the kitchen table that is set apart from the other. The elderly woman starts to talk but very quietly where no one in the room able to hear what she is talking about, wave of confusion starts to gather around the room but suddenly a blaring voice startled everyone there - including Kirara.

Students! Today we will be baking a simple cheesecake! A famous delicacy where everyone should know about it right now The man shouts as if he is a drill instructor and for a room that size; his voice is way too loud. The recipe is on your table! If you follow the instruction very well, you will go home with cheesecake on your hand!The person that is right next to you will be your partner! ANY QUESTION The man finish shouting and glares at everyone as if he is daring anyone there to ask a question. As expected no one dare to raise a question, there is not even whisper can be heard as if everyone got scared. While the elderly lady that stood beside him just smile and nod once in a while.

Geez, louise... that is such a loud voice for a simple instruction Kirara chimes in in a normal volume where the man surely able to hear her voice really well. Kirara rest her chin on her hand while staring at him with a smile smugly. However, the man didn't pay any attention to her provocation The class starts now! The man shouts ignoring Kirara completely.

That's not fun. Kirara clicks her tongue then looks at Amber. Well, Amber do your magic. I will give you the best kind of support from the side... emotional support Kirara says as she sits and take out of her phone.

Amber looked at the presumed teachers as they entered, especially taking note of the man with the scar. ''Are those our teachers? So scary. ~'' She mused with a little giggle. Maybe people would take her more seriously too if she had a cool battle scar? ''Ch-Cheesecake?'' She asked, startled by the sudden loud voice. Turning to Ash she whispered. ''Hey, did he say cheesecake is simple? How is combining cheese and cake considered simple?'' She shook her head at mister drill instructor chef. ''No questions!'' She gave a shaky thumbs up. At least she was doing this with someone else, if she was cooking all on her own she would probably have passed out from all that pressure.

''E-Emotional support, that's exactly what I need!'' She smiled, too naive to realize that Ash was planning on slacking off on her phone. ''You're the best, Ash!'' She turned to the recipe, humming to herself. ''Beat the eggs, but not too hard...'' She looked around for a whisk but couldn't find one. No one would mind if she used her quirk, right? It's not like it gave away that she was a human weapon. If anything, it just made her look like a human whisker. ''Oh! I'll wash my hands first.'' She rushed over to the sink and washed her hands thoroughly before getting started on the ingredients, turning her right hand into a whisk so she could start beating the eggs, making sure to be careful not to overbeat them. ''Isn't this fun? It's a nice break from regular school and maybe I'll become better at other subjects by studying cooking!''

Her attention was focused on her own phone therefore it took a moment to register that Amber is talking to her right now. "Huh? What did you say?" Kirara asks since while she know that Amber was talking to her but she doesn't know what it was about because her focus wasn't there. Before she can go back to her phone, her eyes noticed that the teacher is approaching nearby them so Kirara suddenly quickly and awkwardly busy herself by arranging kitchen utensil back and forth without any clear direction.

Then, she finally noticed how her hand suddenly turn into a whisk. "Whoa! That is very neat. Wait, hold on... I don't think you can use quirk in public space. Quick deactivate it for now, the teacher is coming! Kirara quickly warn as she frantically searching for an actual whisk. You can use it again after the teacher move further from us. I don't mind it lol Kirara whisper and says lol unironically despite they are talking verbally and not through text.

''I said this is fun!'' Amber smiled over her shoulder at Kirara, not bothered in the slightest that she had to repeat herself. ''Is this really how they do it in the restaurants and cafes too? I've never seen a kitchen there before, just seating...'' She talked to herself. ''Do you think they hide the kitchens in the back of the restaurant?'' She smiled back up at Kirara, asking a question which should have such an obvious answer. ''Right? It's my whisk-related quirk power!'' She lied confidently, trying to downplay what her quirk could do to keep her civilian identity. ''I can't? I mean, we can't use our quirks you're right!'' She stopped whisking and looked back at her hand, transforming it into a kitchen knife, then back into a whisk, before finally getting it right and turning her quirk off completely. Her hand was still quite dirty though, so she hid it as she smiled at the passing teacher. ''Nice weather today, isn't it? Sensei, I'm learning so much already!''

Hopefully once they survived another encounter with their teacher Amber would turn to face Kirara. ''Thank you, that was a close call.'' She whispered, ''It was so automatic I didn't even realize I was using it, do you ever get moments like that? Where your power just sort of... Does a thing? Turns on, on its own?'' She moved over to wash her hands. ''Right, so, next step...'' She looked down at the recipe with a thoughtful expression.
