that’s all anyone ever talked about. when they told me i could own everything by killing that one guy, i didn’t think they meant i’d inherit his problems, too. before this i didn’t have anything. that included problems. i was living a free peaceful live. but now everyone wants to be up my butt about the darn thing. well, i’ve had enough.

oh, wait. that makes it sound like i’m quitting. no, i’ll be back and deal with all the assassination attempts and people trying to one up me… they think it was a fluke for some reason? cos they’ve never heard of me before this? i don’t get it, man.

and, ew. yuck. for whatever reason there seems to be a swarm of bugs congregating around here. let’s head inside where it’s nice and bug free.

trust me. i really don’t mind them. when you sleep in a dumpster you get used to weird little creatures crawling all over you. heck, you even gotta eat some of them when there’s nothin’ in the trash. but when there’s that many of them, a shiver goes up my spine. feels like a biology thing, probably. i know they’re harmless, so why is it so friggin’ gross?

“aw man…” turns out there were more bugs on the inside, than on the outside. “an infestation…?”

That accursed buzzing sound, the familiar sounds that she despise the most. She is not a religious kind of gal but oh god why! why must it be today compared to the other day. Those f**cker should drop dead! Kira curses silently as she tries to walk faster to the opposite direction of where the sounds come from.

Apparently, those filthy bugs can detect her curses and now the voice multiplied and surrounds them which it becomes unnatural. Her sudden yelp upon the very first appearance of the cloud of bugs floating on the upper floor invites another chaos which is an explosion, from where she is currently she can't see what exactly happened there but she can easily see several debris of rock is falling down. People are starting to scatters around trying to get out. Some where unlucky and got 'swallowed' by the cloud and lifted to unknown place. 'Shit, I might be a hero in training but today is not my day for being a hero, bye bye!' Kirara talks selfishly inside her mind and start to leave the panicking people.

Then she reaches the lower floor and when she is reaching to the exit where a man just enter, suddenly a huge boulder of debris is falling right onto him. "Tch" Kirara clicks her tongue and quickly scan the distance and the situation around her before she contracts her muscle for a quick sudden speed burst. "Watch out" Kirara shouts, with a fast movement she land right next to the guy and in a normal speed she tackles him inside rather than outside With that, they are effectively stuck within the mall unless they find another exit as the huge boulder blocks the entrance/exit.

I almost got out but you exist, argh. Kirara shout frustrated while looking around frantically trying to think if there is another way out. To her luck, she is very unfamiliar with this mall as this is her first time there.

“whoa!” someone pushes me into the building, like, really quick. i’ve seen people move like that before but usually they’re crazy strong or they’re been gathering speed up for awhile. maybe i just didn’t notice them which happens a lot honestly. but the attitude confuses me tbh. “why’re you upset? you pushed me…” i grumble a bit. “...mean.”

as i get up and wipe the dust off of my shoulders, i can’t help but notice the giant debris on the floor where i was standing. omg. wait… was that…

“im so sorry! you were saving me thank you so much.” yeah i would’ve been fine. i’m a tough cookie. it would’ve hurt but i would’ve gotten back up, but… the fact that they were trying to save my life really changed my whole darn perspective on what happened here.

“are you tryna to get away from those bugs too? they're everywhere…” i start to examine the boulder. if it’s the way of the exit, i should just try and move it, right? it shouldn’t be too heavy…

This going to sound like non-heroic at all but her fear has come true. The chaos from the people screaming around her starts to hit her mentally, she starts to feel bad for thinking for herself when she is a hero in training. However, the voice of buzzing nearing making all of her guilt swept away - lighten her heart a bit in a weird way.

'Hero should be fearless but right now I am not a hero yet' Kirara thought to herself. Then she stopped when she is going to walk away leaving the man that she just save a minute ago. She stay silent for a moment, pondering over something, then she let out a big sigh. "Follow me, there should be other way around. I don't want to see you die after I just saved you a minute ago" Kirara order, forcefully, as she grabs the man hand and lead him. Before they could go far, in an embarassing manner; she trip and fell. Her fall conveniently thrown off her student handbook that clearly display UA logo and her name on it.

"Shit" Kirara curse and swipe the book away to where it belongs "You don't see anything" She tries to convince him

Meanwhile, right on top of them - a figure of person floating surrounded by a swarm of bugs facing at a crater near the floor. It attention start to wander from the hero that it is facing right now to the rest of the people beneath it. A swarm of bug starts to fly toward Kirara and Rem. This time, Kirara is not aware of it.

“yeah sure i’ll follow you.” normally people tell me to get away and pull out some blunt or sharp object to threaten me with! guess i must have gotten lucky with who i ran into. there’s some people out there who would push you into the bugs… not even to save themselves, just because they could! what a crazy, crazy world we live in.

then it hits. almost cry. dont want to see me die? that’s so kind…. so few people have ever wanted that… and usually it was just in a fleeting moment. but she saved me once and was going to save me more. i’ll follow her to the ends of the earth and make sure she’s safe, too.

“wow you’re observant.” i really couldnt see much tbh. so i missed the whole uau student thing even though i wouldnt have thought much of it. “yeah ever since i put these new eyes in my head things have been a lot harder to see. i’m thinkin they have to heal more is all.”

“anyway,” while she was busy picking stuff up there were some bugs coming over. “while you handle that i’ll deal with the bugs.” i rip off a nearby door and trying using it as a fly swatter. it’s a bit harder than it looks though… but i keep swingin’! “don’t worry i’ll get ‘em!”

She doesn't comment much on his attempt trying to swat away the bug, handling bugs head on is the last thing she wants to do and from the looks of it - he is not that helpless. Kirara scoots over to the map of the mall, trying to figure out a way for an exit - the main door is impossible for them to get out now. Then her eyes dart over into something and she slaps her head realizing how stupid she was "Duh, Kirara how can you be so stupid" Kirara groans. This is a mall, a quite large one - so there must be a basement parking and their own exits. They could use those place to get out. Kirara quickly scan the map and memorize it.

You... Kirara trails off for a moment doesn't know how to call him, then she shakes her head this is no time for this as she quickly dash backward real fast when she notice a bug is diving right to her position. "You! I know the way, leave those goddamn bugs alone we need to get out!" Kirara calls for Rem and run toward the nearest emergency exits. One thing she didn't expect is that - she is not alone thinking that plan. Many civilians are panicking trying to enter the emergency stair to the point of congest the entrance.

"Shit, we can't go through here" Kirara looks around, there is a dead escalator and there is a same amount of people rushing toward the basement - the difference is that there is an open space for a person to just jump down if they dare to do so. "By any chance, would you find any problem if you jump down? Kirara asks Rem, trying to brainstorm.

yknow, i thought this would be goin better but i was still enjoying tryna hit them. at some point it became more about the journey than actually gettin them all. almost like a game we were playin… one of the happier times i’ve tried to kill something after it tried to kill me. well, i think they’re tryna kill me. what else would they be doin’, yea?

“okay,” i listen to her and stop playing with the bugs. “sorry, friends. murder another day, maybe? but not today! make you sure you escape, too, i think there’s gonna be exterminators soon.”

they prolly have no idea what i’m saying.

“oh i’m rem btw it’s not really my name because i wasn’t born with one and when i was given one it was haku but that one kind of hurts to hear right now cos my friend died so i started going by rem so i’d like for you to call me that instead of haku. thanks.” that should clear everything up! “yeah, sure i can jump.”

there’s a little crater where i land and i look back up to her. “oh wait.” i jump back up to where she is. “did you want me to carry you down by the way?”

if not i guess i’ll just jump down again… maybe catch her?
