Rhea took a sip of water as the music went into a lull, just long enough for her to take a short break. She had been at this for about thirty minutes and had made a decent amount of money, at least enough to cover part of the rent for the month. As much as she wanted to go all out, it was getting late in the day and she had to get ready for work eventually. Picking up her phone she set up her final song of the day, taking a breath and preparing herself. It was a slow melody, something to enrapture those watching and listening. She even put a little bit of her quirk into it, though she had to go a little lighter than she would have liked as she had been pushing it all day. She just had to hope that the push got her a bit more money for the evening... 0 Victims

What a wonderful sound, that voice which hovered right above the air. [break][break]
Xyu was wandering around Shibuya for no reason whatsoever. This was how he approached most things—with either zero interest or a dangerous passion. Today was seeming destined to join all the other pointless days, but then he heard it. It was on a street no different from the others, emanating from a place no fancier than the rest. He floated in, as though the voice had formed a cloud underneath him.[break][break]
It was a woman, younger than Xyu, who was singing. He walked past some other patrons, who also seemed entranced by her performance. What was this? Had he ever heard something so elegant? It was when he was most of the way across the room that he noticed something about her. Compared to him, she was very human. But compared to other humans…[break][break]
There was the matter of her eyes. Vertical slits, something many found intimidating. When she vocalized clearly, he could spot the shine of some fangs, and along her shoulders were some scales, though one could mistake them initially for some nouveau fashion statement. Xyu knew better. This was her quirk. Or at least part of it. Perhaps it gave her an excellent voice? [break][break]
He wasn’t going to get answers just standing around. Once she was done singing, he was going to ask her.

A few other people put in to her tip jar, though from the corner of her eye she didn't seem to get a whole lot from it. Her time was up, so there wasn't much more she could do about it. She felt her throat itch, the barbs irritated despite her attempts to remain hydrated. Clearing her throat once she was finished she put on a broach smile, looking over the crowd gathered. "Thank you all for coming out! If you wish to catch the next show, I'm here every Wednesday and Thursday in the afternoons.~" She gave a slight bow, flipping the small mic off before turning to start putting her things away.
She thankfully didn't need much to perform. She had a pair of robust but small speakers that connected to her phone, several tip jars, and a sign advertising herself. She'd start to turn things off and put them away, but as she worked she couldn't help but feel another set of eyes on her. It was strange...and upon looking up she noticed a snake-headed individual not far away. She gave a polite smile, hefting her bag up. "Good evening! Did you enjoy the show?" 0 Victims

“I did,” Xyu replied, calmly. He took out some bills and put them in the tip jars. Sometimes he forgot the amount of money normal people spent. He got paid to kill, and sometimes that paid really quite well. Though it seemed no one else was tipping all that much. For the first time, he actually paid attention to the other people in the venue. This was an odd place for her to be set up. [break][break]
“I liked your singing.” He paused, letting the words linger. Xyu was usually one to ignore others, but he felt the scales on his head perking up. This was not a fan of the singer. This was someone studying Xyu. Odd. He wasn’t nearly as good a singer. Sure, he may have killed someone recently, but could that really have mattered all that much?[break][break]
“Hey,” he said to the young woman. “I think that guy over there is staring at you. Do you know him?” Xyu asked. Lying came as easily to him as eating mice whole. He knew that man was suspicious of him, but using this singer as a proxy—that was the smart move.

This man was strange, but he wouldn't be the first one that Rhea had run into. And what made it even better was he was tipping. There wasn't enough to distinguish if he was just being overly polite or if there was a level of fascination, but regardless she was in no way going to dismiss him. Not yet, at least.
"Why, thank you,~" she says, smiling. She finished getting her things packed up, shouldering her bag. "I've spent a great deal of time practicing."
The comment raised a few red flags, and her thieving instincts warned her she shouldn't take her eyes completely off her new serpentine friend. So she glanced over at the individual that was indicated, shrugging. "I can't say that I know him," she says, raising her voice a little so that he might hear, too. "But bravery is an attractive trait. He could use a little more of it to say hi, at least." 0 Victims
