Was it honorable or embarrassing that Helsing took such damage this early on? Fighting beyond your limits, keeping the spirit of the cause you fight for ablaze even when the brazier of your body has crumbled; wasn't this Plus Ultra? Rahul made a necessary sacrifice to keep the flame lit, all the raiders being torch-bearers to find that final bonfire of victory together. From all walks of life, people came together.

How can Enma honor Rahul? As his consciousness slipped and he was whisked away from the mere entrance into the further depths of Takamagahara, he was treated at the heroes' infirmary. Awaking, he would look at his marred feet and wonder what he could have done differently. Relying so much on his body, he felt a twinge of guilt. Raiju was nearby with its split scabbard. Pulling the pieces together, he would began using the Journey to mend it.

In reflection, it seemed that the Journey for Raiju had come to an end. A beautiful, unique manifestation of the Arashi Inkheart that crafted legends into the steel. They weren't samurai, they weren't zealots of bushido either. They were Arashi. Enma was the torch-bearer for that at least, so he let the Journey fizzle as he needed further care. While his entrance into the next stage of the raid would be delayed, he would there when needed most.

The experience of the opening battle was only a taste of what was to come. There was more for him to do. He didn't know Rahul, but it took a grand resolve, an embodiment of Plus Ultra that justified pushing beyond those limits of his. Still feeling the burn of the ultra-heated diamond, Enma swallowed it and knew that not long from then...Helsing would rise again. Don't be weak. It's up to you.

The floor was rocked as a result of their combined efforts, with Vox having to jab his sword into the ground so he wouldn't slip from the rumbling beneath them. Then came the tense seconds of the aftermath. With the owl surely cooked from the explosion, what would become of the dragon? Was Enma's attempt at keeping it trapped under the makeshift meteor enough? Will they need to prepare for the beast's escape?

When the floor eventually stilled and the next room opened, he let out a breath. The battle was over, for now.

Vox' eyes scanned his allies. Many of them were injured. And one... Oh no, Kei's protege. Someone he'd heard so much about yet never had a chance to speak with outside the mission. Moving closer, the hero would carry the shining statue that was once one of his brother's saviours before calling out to the others. "Everyone! We have a moment of reprieve. Get yourselves treated if you need it. We'll regroup before heading further in."

With those words, Vox made his way back to the teleporter, one casualty in his arms.

The impact from her landing was much softer than Misaki had been expecting. Which was very good because that last hit had exhausted her phonic energy entirely leaving her with no way to mitigate the impact. 

"Tha..." 'Oh no, he's hot.' "Mhm, thanks. Are you alright?" Misaki asked Arc with a worried frown, one that deepened when she gave him a quick look-over. "Do you need a doctor? Uhm, I can call The Gorgon over if you'd like?" 

She was fairly sure she hadn't seen this white-haired man amongst the people ferried over by Starling Soul so it might not be an option to bring him back to base. Then again she wasn't exactly up to date with the big picture.

Looking around she cringed and pinged The Gorgon for an extraction. Masao was going to kill her when she saw how banged up Enma was. Well, at least she was still around to be berated. Misaki took one brief glance in the direction of the diamond statue before pushing the thought aside. Dwelling on something like that would have to come later. This raid was far from over and if they didn't keep their heads in the game the death count could increase far, far more. As she pulled the fingers of her shaking left hand open with her right that fact hit very close to home. Having fused to the material while her fist was clenched the burned skin ripped and forced her to swallow down a hiss. She was going to need a trip to The Gorgon herself before she continued on. Misaki could only hope she'd have the time.

Now that the threat had passed for now, Arc's adrenaline was quickly replaced by pain as he laid on the ground spread out like a starfish.
"Fuck me that hurts." Although he wasn't bleeding, he could feel that his legs were a tad mangled from the thigh down under his tattered tactical pants. His arms to either side hadn't fared much better, and honestly he was a little impressed with himself that one of his daggers was still death-gripped in his left hand. The other... he had no idea what had happened to it in the chaos. Rip.

His gaze flicked over to Misaki as her voice broke into his thoughts and he flashed her a friendly smile, quite thankful she had bothered to help him out earlier.
"Don't mention it, least I can do with you bothering to save my ass. You're an amazing Hero!" He replied with a chuckle, finally managing to open his left hand and let the dagger roll away before slowly sitting up and letting his arms hang limp at his sides with a grimace.

His gaze lingered on the diamond statue for a moment before he dipped his head respectfully and returned his attention back to Misaki. He hadn't known the man, but he wasn't completely brainless and knew the man had likely saved them even more losses, likely including himself considering he was in no position to keep fighting had the dragon escaped.
"I would appreciate the help, seems I owe you two favors now."

Misaki froze in place and turned red. She didn't know why she'd said it, nor how the thought had even come to mind. Stress and exhaustion did weird things to a person and where normally she'd think things through this time the intrusive thought had won. 

When the words came out of her mouth she heard them as if she'd been listening to herself in third person. What was done was done however. All she could hope was that the ground was still fragile enough to swallow her up and remove her from this situation. What she'd said just before played in her mind on repeat, taunting her with the truth that it had happened and that she hadn't just imagined it.

Stellar would relax, letting her quirk slowly fade but not completely as she fell backward, panting after exerting herself. She'd have to remember not to use a Super Move unless she had to go forward, but that wasn't her biggest concern at the moment. [break][break] They had injured students, civilians, and a casualty. Poor Rahul. Her quirk momentarily flashed blue as she picked herself up and approached the statue the same time Vox was headed over there. She'd gently pat Rahul's head, careful not to fracture the statue, and spoke softly, "You fought well. Thank you." She had to move on, for now, with plenty of time to grieve the fallen later, but people depended on her.[break][break] Using her quirk to assist Enma, she didn't want him walking on his burned feet if she could help it. "Listen to Vox! Treatment is the most important thing here, for now; move in pairs." The radio from Jun had Stellar open up her own. "Understood, East Wing is secure. We're heading back for medical treatment." She'd look over to Misaki and Arc. "Soundwave, please pair up with him and support him. He'll need treatment as well." She'd clap to get everyone's attention. "Okay, let's move out!" [break][break]
