Lola "Lily" Crest is a Shadow Broker who works from the shadows under the alias known as The Mouser within the Adachi District of Tokyo, Japan, one of the recognized poverty stricken districts of Japan. Often, when local gangs, criminals, and villains alike get their hands on vital information which helps aid criminal organization operations in the district, there are rumors that such secrets and information has been purchased or traded by the Mouser. However, the recent reemergence of the alias being used in present day isn't something that few would celebrate over, but rather find dread in it.
Born in Hawaii, and raised by a European mother and a Japanese father, Lola's upbringing wasn't a bleak one. In fact, for much of her youth, she had lived a happy life. That was, until her father had been discovered murdered by a gang in Tokyo during a business trip and her mother shortly after fell into illness back in Europe. Traveling to Japan alone, at the age of 16, Lola was stricken with spiteful vengeance to track down her fathers murderer and bring an end to the criminal. This path would lead her to not only discovering that the murderer worked for a gang in the district of Adachi, but also join a rival gang to help them in their endeavors with the promise of exacting her revenge. For the next year, she began making a name for herself within the gang for excelling rather well at various jobs which involved theft, robbery, black market dealing and even assaulting rival gang members. Then, finally the day came when she received an assassination order to take down the rival gang by going after a list of leaders in their organization, one of the names being her father's murderer.
On the night of the assassination, Lola found herself amongst a gang raid. Their job was to infiltrate the rival gang's HQ and take out as many of their members as possible. Their numbers were a lot smaller compared to their competitors but their mission was merely to serve as a distraction. As for Lola, her job was to carry a bag of explosives to the top floor to take out all of the leaders at once. It wasn't long until they gained access to the building that chaos ensued. The two gangs were fighting one another throughout the building on intense skirmishes, all the while Lola snuck her way to the top floor to finally confront the man who murdered her father. Instead, what she found was her gang's leader shaking hands with the rival gang leader. The raid was a setup. Her boss intended to backstab his group in the most violent way and join forces with the more powerful rival gang. In a fit of rage, Lola went on the assault, but she was stopped short by a stray bullet that punched a hole through her stomach. That stray bullet came from non other than the man responsible for her father's death. In a last ditch effort, Lola set the charges in her bag on a short fuse timer and tossed them at the men in the room before receiving another shot to her chest. Crashing through the top floor window, Lola could only look on as she fell into a river ravine, watching as the top floor of the building burst into a fiery blaze.
After that night, surprisingly many of the leaders were still alive, some completely intact thanks to their quirks, while others were gravely injured. Despite such setbacks, the bloodbath had came to an end and the more powerful rival gang ensured that most of their "attackers" were executed. Police arrived on scene and apprehended most of the gang's members, but after the leaders pleaded that they only acted in self defense, it was stated that they'd have negotiations for a significantly shorter sentence in jail. As for Lola, her body was nowhere to be found.
Three years passed. In that time, missing person reports began spreading in the district of Adachi. Those missing people were connected to the gang that presided in the district from three years ago. Even those who retired from the gang lifestyle ended up going missing too. However, once those bodies were discovered, each of them had a... strange and mysterious "calling card". It was a type of symbol or clue that sent chills down the backs of every member involved with the gang. It was a message, written in red lipstick on the foreheads of the victims... and that message was "Mouser".
