[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]Random Partner Time [attr="class","rhythm"] Another event in the Sports Festival.  There was enough time between her last event and this one to recuperate herself, and she felt a bit more confident in her own competency.  Granted she was doing her best to keep her own ego in check, as she was still a first year and definitely had difficulties going face to face with a dinosaur guy.  Also with the fact that a combat-centric portion of the Sports Festival behind her, she can at least utilize her more capable traits... Which apparently was another physical competition in the form of a three-legged race.  Not to much a step above a fight, but this was something the young adult felt pretty confident in.  What she wasn't confident in was that it was a three-legged race.  Meaning she had to work with another student, a random student even.  So when she was given notice about teaming with a 'Yasu Okamoto.'  The Three-Legged race was just about to begin, and the glasses wearing redhead just kept her head down as she moved herself to starting position number four.  It was where she would meet Yasu, all the while keeping her own eyes from meeting her competition. [Yasu & Yume]

After narrowly escaping a beating from one of the many gangs in Tokyo on his way to the arena, Yasu was both relieved to finally be here, and dreading to take part in this embarrassing competition. Why was it he was a hero student again? Oh right, his quirk had signed him up for it. Not like he had many other prospects in life before all this, but wasn't it kind of super embarrassing to have to participate in a race and easily be the worst participant? To make matters worse he couldn't suck on his own either, it was three-legged race competition, meaning he was going to drag someone down with him. Way to make friends right away.

Not that he wasn't used to being an outcast either way. Maybe university was just going to be a repeat of high school. ''Yo, you're my teammate, right?'' He stood there with his arms crossed as she made her way over. ''I'm Yasu Okamoto. First year, just joined up for this hero course thing-'' He cut himself off and glanced next to him, as if he was talking to an invisible person. ''Introduce yourself, I'm not your concierge.'' Yume was such a pain in the neck, always interjecting, always interrupting. ''If you were hoping to win this race then I'm sorry you got paired up with me.'' He gave a casual shrug and rolled his eyes, clearly giving off the air that he didn't really care much for this whole competition and just didn't want to embarrass himself. ''I have a quirk that makes me fast, so you'd think that's ideal for a race, but I don't know what its activation condition is.''

He looked at the obstacle course ahead as their legs were tied together. ''Since we have a moment to strategize, what's your power? Are you willing to use it or should we just coast by doing the bare minimum? I'm fine either way, it's been a long day.''

[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]Defeat Defeatism [attr="class","rhythm"] She didn't have to wait long for her partner to find their way to the number 4 starting square, as it seemed she was paired up with...  A guy that was smaller than her.  Kikurage figured that this guy was probably the shortest guy she had ever met that was this short naturally, outside of quirk influence kind of natural that is.  She kept that bit of observation to herself in order to maintain a commonality between them, as she wanted to avoid irritating her partner and ruin her chances to make herself stand out.  He would inquire if she was his teammate, which was met with a shrug and an indignant, "If you're Starting Position #4, then yes." The next words out of his mouth were standard fare introductions for Yasu, though he would cut himself off and blurt out in another direction about telling someone to introduce themself.  No one was there, so Kikurage was thinking this was him trying to cause problems, "Kikurage.  First year.  Flattered," Her voice was completely flat in this, unimpressed with this bit.  And then her mood soured for the worse as soon as he became defeatist about her being teamed up with him, "Excuse me?" She gave him the opportunity to explain himself, as he mentioned that he had a work that made him fast, with the caveat being he didn't know how to activate this quirk.  Keeping a deadpan stare with, she listened to his next couple questions and just left it on an awkward silence.  Trying to figure out which words to use until deciding on, "So you're just wanting to not take this seriously...  Just my luck...." Groaning in annoyance, she decided to at least answer his question as she slumped forward a bit, "I can make mushrooms and fungi, have pretty decent control over them.  Since I don't strive to do the bare minimum like a coward, I'm going to use my quirk.  You can either actually step up or I'll drag you along." Oh, oh no. Had me misread their conversation? Wasn't she the totally lazy type who didn't want to do anything either? He thought she hated being here, so by indulging in their shared pain of having to do this exercise they could have gotten along. Granted, that was incredibly presumptuous of him, and he couldn't just explain his position either. 'Oh hey sorry I thought you looked like a lazy student who doesn't like doing physical exercise'- how exactly would that go over?! ''Uh...'' Was all he managed, realizing how fast he had messed up.

''That's... That's not...'' He was desperately trying to save face, all the while taking in the information she gave him about her quirk. Mushrooms, huh... He couldn't help but feel a little jealous. He would have taken a nature-themed quirk over the one he got stuck with any day of the week. Speaking of which, Yume was laughing her ass off inside his head at Kikurage's response. ''I like her! She's funny! Let me talk to her!'' He could feel Yume's voice practically bouncing with energy, overwriting his own inner voice.

''Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I'll help however I can, but I've only had my quirk for a week. We don't understand how it works yet, I can switch when my life is in danger, but I doubt that'll happen here.'' He gave a casual shrug. ''In any case, my quirk is called Sleepwalk-'' Just as Yasu said the name of his quirk he slumped over and would almost appear to faint and fall over if he hadn't caught himself.

Or rather, if Yume hadn't.

''Mighty Magical Fire Warrior Princess Hero!!'' Yume danced before posing dramatically. ''Sparking Girl, Yume is heeeere! ~'' Yasu looked just the same as always, but somehow his mannerisms and way of speaking had completely changed. Not to mention, a very noticeable girl's voice was coming out of his mouth when he spoke. Oh, and the telltale sign that his quirk was active, her bright, neon green eyes. ''You're my hero, Kikurage!'' She pointed back at Kiku, offering her a handshake. ''You insulted Yasu and I needed that! I haven't laughed like that in a long time.'' Just as the three-legged run was about to begin Yume looked over at Kiku. ''Hey Kiku-chan, do you want to go first?'' Without giving her much of a chance to protest, Yume would try to take off, presumably dragging Kiku with her if she couldn't stop her or keep up.

[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]Drag Through Hell [attr="class","rhythm"] Having confronted her randomized partner over trying to act lazy, she maintained eye contact as much as possible since the despair just washed over him.  She opted to then be the one to kneel and start tying the two of them together, knotting after knotting the rope to ensure that they would be snug against one another.  Even if he was going to wind up being a lazy sack of potatoes, she would drag it behind her to ensure she did well.  At first wanting to do it only because it'd make her look good, but now she wanted to spite her partner who only wanted to do the bare minimum in her eyes. The guy started to make empty platitudes and apologies, finally starting to say that he'll help however he could.  The guy then finally explained his quirk in more detail, making mention about how he 'switches' if his life is in danger.  Yasu seemed like she was calming down with each word spoken, but soon went dead silent upon saying his quirk's names. He went slack and slumped over, almost about to fall over.  In that split second, Kikurage was worried that she was quite literally gonna have to drag Yume as if he were a sack of potatoes.  But soon he caught himself, with his eyes now glowing quite vibrantly and speaking in an alternative voice.  Like as if he was a different person, as there was a new person she was tied to with such energy to the point of being some sort of anime character. "H u u u u u h?" A long drawn out exasperation upon witnessing Yasu's 'transformation' into Yume.  Just waiting for some camera man to pop out along with some washed up celebrity to shout 'PRANKED!' but no, that never came.  Instead Yume would offer a hand, which instinctive reflexes kicked in and the Redhead shook in kind.  Feeling covertly narcissistic with this interaction, she was extremely put off as she wondered what the deal is now.  Though maybe it's that kid's quirk working, as to the how who the hell knows.  "Um, thanks?" Kiku inquisitively spoke, only for Yume to go on a tangent about how she was so amused by the redhead putting 'Yasu' in place.  Okay, at least there's a distinction of this glowing eye person being Yume, and Yasu being the passive coward.  Got it.  The competition was about to begin as many were taking up starting positions, and Kiku would do the same with Yume.  The Sleepwalking partner would offer to go first, "Isn't this a team eff-" She couldn't get another word in as the competition went off and Kikurage would slam into the ground, bouncing along the pavement as Yume took charge.  "AAAAAAAAAAGH!" Kikurage screamed in absolute shock, billowing out spores across her body to cover herself in cushiony mushrooms.  Trying to detract the amount of damage she took as SHE was being dragged like a sack of potatoes.  At this rate Kikurage wouldn't even be able to showcase her skills as she was quite literally being dragged by her partner.  Yume was willing to win, but was too good at this.  Yasu was being a defeatist, but he would allow Kikurage to take some charge here and there. The redhead had to figure out how to force a transformation, but had to currently go over the facts in her head.  Other University Students were doing their best to trail behind as many started to resort to using their quirks to amplify their speed.  Caught off guard by Yume's blinding speed, but were quick to adapt and start catching up. A hand darted out from the Mushroom Cushion-Bag Kikurage had put herself in, as spores would blast out in a wide arc behind their duo.  Black spores covering the ground, giving growth to bad mushrooms that were overdeveloped and advanced in age.  Slimy, sticky mushrooms that if people were to step on them would cause others to lose footing.  And if someone had the misfortune of trying to use a fire or heating quirk to burn a path through the shrooms, the results would be explosive to say the least. ''We're gonna be great friends, I can already tell.'' Yume smiled confidently, having just decided that on her own. Or maybe that was just how it seemed. In actuality, once Kikurage saw how fast she was friendship was the only way! With Kikurage recruited to the party, that's one more person who could fight the Dark Lord and his forces.

Yume was laughing at the top of her lungs as Kiku screamed. ''This way Kiku-chan, quick! If we get first place we're going to get the most experience!'' The path ahead of them was fraught with obstacles, and what had started as basically just an open field was turning into a sprawling forest. Trees, underbrush, logs, boulders, there was plenty of stuff they would need to navigate slowly. Yume was trying to identify the fastest way through, her head looking this way and that like a hyperactive dog. This moment of pause gave her time to look back at Kiku who had changed a whole lot since they took off. Had she covered herself in mushrooms? Wait no- more importantly, what was she doing to the ground behind them?

Yume grimaced at the thought of stepping in the hazardous spores. ''I don't know what you're doing, but it's gross and it's useful!'' She smiled, offering Kiku a hand if she wasn't already standing up. ''Say, have you ever considered saving the world? The hero's party could use a Mushroomancer!'' She kept moving, but jogged a little slower this time as they got up to the edge of the tree line and started working their way past all the obstacles. ''Think about it! There will be lots of treasure and adventures to be had!''

''Wait, what's that? Hey- watch where you're going!!'' Another pair shouted out from the spore field as they got caught in Kiku's trap.

''By the way...'' Yume was unbothered by the other students, looking down at her feet as they walked around a thorny bush. ''Why are you wearing a pajamas?'' She was referring to Kiku's makeshift armor, asking directly, if not somewhat insensitively.

[attr="class","rhythm"] Kiku covered in her Mycobiotic Cocoon was thoroughly protected from being dragged along, having avoided a lot of the damages inflicted from random skids along the ground.  Along the way she created rough terrain for the competitors trailing behind, who Yume was blowing past through.  It felt way too long before Yume started to realize what was happening to the redhead, and even then it felt like a backhanded slap as this new personality was completely unaware of what she was effectively doing to their partner. Thankfully the forest-like obstacles force Yume to slow down, giving Kikurage enough time and headspace to be able to get up.  Her head was spinning as she continued spritzing out the slippery fungi, creating gross terrain for others to slip and stick on.  Only now did Yume realize what was happening, complimenting the red head's efforts.  What followed next was a question about saving the world as they needed a 'Mushroomancer.'  "Egh?" Kiku quacked in disbelief at the absurdity of this proposition, "I'm here at UAU, of course I'm here to save the world"  Lying through her teeth as she didn't completely give a hoot about the world itself, only being pulled along as Yume increased the speed to a jog in order to accommodate the forested terrain.  "I said I'm already saving the world, also what party?  What?" Completely lost in Yume's nonsense, Kiku was easily able to tune out the cacophony of other competitors getting caught in the Mushroom traps.  Definitely slowing them down as Kikurage and Yume extended their lead even further.  Though many of the paths ahead of them were trying to get them to go around trees and going around boulders. Going around a thorny bush, Yume's question was met with a resounding, "Cushioning."  It was best to play along with this nonsense then trying to devote actual brain power to figuring out this nonsense, because it didn't feel like she was being listened to.  Soon the duo would come across an entire wall of boulders that, if no one had a good way to get through or over, would force people to take a long path far round. Kiku spared no expense in shooting spores at their feet, growing a mushroom platform that would rise out of the ground.  Up and up ten to twenty feet in the air, well above the height of this wall of mountainous boulders, with Kiku giving Yume some acknowledgement by timing their leap off of the boulders to get to the other side. All the while the redhead was trying to figure her partner out, as she asked, "Say, what was your quirk's name again?  I thought you'd be asleep with what you called it, Sleep...  Something?"  Phrasing it in a way to see if she could figure something out about this guy's quirk, as she had a moment to finally internalize and reflect on when Yume emerged from Yasu. ''High aspirations! That's good in this world or so I've heard!'' She chuckled, satisfied with Kikurage's answer. Of course she wanted to save the world! She had hero written all over her face, and she was studying to become one too. ''Why, I'm glad you asked, Kiku-chan! My party! You might not know this, but I'm a experienced adventurer where I'm from.'' She boasted proudly. ''They don't call me Sparking Girl for nothing! I don't blame you for not recognizing me since I'm stuck in the body of this average idiot. Don't judge a book by its cover! ~''

''Don't push your delusions on her, Yume.''

Yasu's voice sounded in the back of her mind, but she made sure to ignore it as she always did. ''C-Cushioning!'' She cleared her throat. ''As expected of you, Kiku-chan!'' She gave her an encouraging pat on the back or uh, mushroom armor. ''Do we have to climb that?'' She stomped her feet in frustration at the wall in front of them. ''Don't wanna, it's not fun if I can't go fast.'' She pouted, but it turned out to be a preemptive tantrum on her part as Kikurage was quick at using her quirk to come up with a solution. ''Nice!!'' She laughed, clapping her hands together. ''Hey, you're actually kind of badass aren't you?!'' She made sure to leap in time with Kiku, following her lead for once as she realized she could rely on her extremely capable teammate.

She dusted herself off when they made it to the top, smiling back up at Kiku. ''Oh me? My name is Yume! ~ The quirk's name is Sleepwalk-'' Just like that, Yume's control was switched off and through a process similar to when Yasu had first activated his quirk, Yume took the backseat and Yasu returned to control over his body, immediately falling to his knees. ''Yume you asshole.'' He writhed in pain, ''I told you my body can't handle it when you run that fast.'' He looked up at Kiku and slowly composed himself again. ''I hope she didn't do or say anything stupid to you?'' It was just then that he noticed the layers of mushrooms on her. ''...Sorry.''

[attr="class","rhythm"] Yeah, this Yume was absolutely overwhelming with their own chattiness.  Going on and on about being some sort of adventurer 'from where she's from.'  This was definitely someone who was completely out of touch with reality when the quirk is active, trying to play it off by Kiku not recognizing her.  All the Redhead had to do was keep playing along until the two reached the wall of boulders, and Kikurage utilized her quirk to rise and over them. "Yeah, I'm pretty great!" Kiku had to play along, becoming rather passive to this new personality.  She couldn't keep going at this pace, and was trying to reverse engineer Yasu/Yume's quirk.  Only putting two and two as to the sudden emergence to it with Yasu uttering the quirk's name, and thus trying to trick him to say Sleepwalk. It didn't take much any further prodding as Yume would answer her pretty succinctly, once again confirming the Sleepwalk name.  Yasu would soon fall to his knees, only to get up and resume his original personality.  She currently tuned out his own self-whining as thoughts churned in her head, a smirk growing on her face upon realizing something.  An incident happening once can be happenstance, but twice is a start of a pattern.  A pattern that Kikurage was more than happy to continue testing out, and potentially see if Yume was able to recognize it. "No worries, Yume got us ahead.  Just help me get down while you rest up from your Sleeptalk quirk," Kikurage would speak in a friendly enough tone, though intentionally misnamed his quirk.  Attempting to use the psychological trick of Cunningham's law to try and get him to correct her, just as the duo was about down to the ground.  "As long as we make it to the front and beat the other teams, we'll be good-" With that uttered, one of the boulders next to Yasu and Kikurage would start to shake, as someone was doing something to drill right through the boulder.  People were catching up and, if Yume came out then Kikurage would be proven correct AND would be ready to continue dragging the shroom gal through heck. [Yasu & Yume]

Yasu took a moment to look around as he got his bearings. ''Yeah, she took off didn't she? We really are ahead of everyone else.'' Yume giveth and Yume taketh. On one hand she was highly specialized for a task like this, but she was so unruly that it almost didn't matter, not to mention that he was feeling the wear and tear on his body. ''Hm? Oh, it's actually called Sleepwalk-'' Just as Kiku had predicted it happened again and in an instance Yasu and Yume switched, although this time Yume wasn't quite as energetic. ''What's that about?'' She rubbed her eyes, ''I was just taking a nap. Wait! We're winning! We were doing a thing!'' She smiled back at Kikurage. ''Did you do this Kiku-chan? Did you bring me out because you miss me so much?'' Her head turned suddenly as the boulder began shaking, taking Kiku's hand and once more as she helped pull her out of the way and continue zooming ahead to where they needed to go. ''We're gonna be out of here soon, then there'll be new obstacles, right? We can't lose here!''

The next stretch of the race looked like another more or less open field with some hilly terrain thrown in to slow them down. Surely they had to be nearing the end now? ''Kiku-chan! Can you do another one of those gross things with your power? You know make the ground all ooey-gooey!'' She flashed her a smile and a thumbs up. ''We've got this in the bag if you can slow the others down!''

[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]Ready to Launch [attr="class","rhythm"] Kiku couldn't help but smile as she was planning on throwing Yasu a curveball with making him say his quirk's name, but she couldn't help but agree, "Yeah, if only you could learn how to utilize Yume and work properly with her.  You'd be unstoppable, yeah?"  All the while she continued on with her plan to misname the guy's quirk, which soon had the intended effect of swapping the personalities once more.  Kikurage would keep that knowledge in her back pocket as the sluggish Yume had woken up from a nap, realizing the situation she was in.  The redhead only realized her own error in this situation, as that meant she was about to be dragged once more.  At least at this realization there was a solution ready and available, as she knew what Yume was about to do.  She would will the mushrooms on her body to slither down and cover her right foot in fungi in a shape similar to that of a ski stick. "Yeah, I was tootally missing you, besty," Kikurage would awkwardly speak out loud, as this words felt so foreign leaving her mouth.  However she was very much wanting Yume to come back out to help the duo reach the end, as Kiku's speed didn't reach such extremes. The boulder shook and trembled, and Yume was quicker on the drawer to pull Kikurage out of the way of the exploding stones and pebbles that would've peppered the shroom gal's back. Blinking a bit in disbelief, Kikurage would let out a much more genuine, "Thanks, saved my back there." Only to find herself being dragged into the race again, the small break over as Yume would take off like the rabbit in the Tortoise and the Hare.  Running at breakneck speeds, this time with a much more prepared Kikurage leaning a little on her ski leg and allowing Yume to take charge in the speeds as they reached the hilly terrain. At Yume's behest, Kikurage would allow spores to grow from the pores of her back.  Spreading out and covering the ground in sticky fungal slime, once again creating issues for those following too close behind.  Though as she did as such, seeing the hilly terrain gave Kikurage an idea as through the cracks of some of the hills the finish line was in sight.  "Yume, you know how the hero has the bombastic finish?" Kikurage would lean into the protagonist talk, probably starting to enjoy the LARPing a little bit at this point, "Well, if you take us to the top of that hill, we can use some downward momentum.  I can create a large mushroom to bounce us over some of these hills, and if you go fast enough we can pretty much launch ourselves to the finish line." If Yume was up for the plan, Kikurage would definitely follow through upon reaching the next hilltop.  Holding out a hand to let loose a stream of black spores that would grow a large, wide dull-red mushroom that almost had the consistency of a trampoline.  With enough springiness to it that, if Yume ran the two of them into it at full speed, could very well send the two of them flying correctly as long as they hit the Bounce-Shroom dead on in the center. [Yasu & Yume]

Yasu was pouting to himself as he took the backseat once more. He couldn't help but feel that Kikurage didn't like him and was messing with him somehow, but he hadn't put it all together yet. Meanwhile, Yume was wreaking havoc all over the test and dragging their poor teammate along. Although, maybe for the first time ever Yasu noticed that Yume was actually slowing down a bit and staying by Kiku's side. It was probably just because Yume was hyper competitive and wanted to earn 'EXP', but at least it was a nice change of pace.

''I knew it! Take that Yasu I have more friends than you. ~'' Yume giggled as she watched Kikurage use her quirk to shuffle the mushrooms on her body around and turning them into something that resembled ski sticks instead. Talk about a useful power! Kiku probably couldn't throw any fireballs from her hands, but as far as Yume was concerned, her Mushroomancer powers were the next best thing! ''Don't mention it! Where I'm from, saving people is my job! Eh, was my job!''

She looked at Kikurage when she asked her a question. ''I do! What's a bombastic finish? I'm the resident expert on those!'' Her eyes lit up at Kiku's suggestion. ''That's a positively brilliant idea Kiku-chan!! This way the Dark Lord's forces won't be able to catch up to us! This is why I bring you along on this quest, you're the smart one!'' She braced herself as she sped up a bit. She could go fast, real fast, so fast that Kiku would lose her mind! She was panting by the time she reached the top of the hill, but Kiku's plan sounded so fun that she was all-in and fully ready to commit to it. ''Here we go, hold onto me, Kiku-chan!'' Yume charged down the hill at the highest speed she could maintain without stumbling over herself, coming down on the bouncy mushroom like a cannonball before presumably, being launched into the sky towards the finish line. Whether they hit the center or not would be completely up to fate, as Yume was far too excited to actually aim their trajectory accurately.

[attr="class","rhythm"] Having transferred the Mushrooms surrounding her body to her feet, it was now in a good position as she was now being pulled alongside Yume.  Despite it being quite the struggle, Kikurage was able to keep her foot steady for as long as possible as Yume dragged her along like some sort of arctic dog sled routine.  Soon an idea was formed by Kikurage to hopefully create a conclusion to this race, and offered to create a launching spring pad for the two of them.  Yume was immediately hooked on the idea, claiming herself to be an expert on bombastic finished and spoke well about how the Dark Lord's forces wouldn't catch up.  Calling her the smart one, which definitely pulled at one of her heart strings as praise wasn't something that Creepy Kiku was used to.  So at the peak of the next hill, the redhead spewed spores near the bottom of the hill and shouted, "CHAAARGE!" With a fist pump, she would allow Yume to lead a direct charge into the growing spring shroom.  The redhead would use all of her strength to use her tied leg to keep Yume on track, even as the duo was reaching peak speeds that were so much of a blur.  Kiku for all it was worth did her best to steer and aim Yume for the center of the shroom. And still holding onto the back of Yume's clothing, Kiku would feel their partner slam into the spring shroom.  The platform would start to groan and tremble, before launching the duo into the air.  The speed and momentum would carry through their downward descent, turning the two of them into an aerial flight.  Kiku wouldn't scream, as her face looked like she took a bite out of an entire lemon with how shrunken in it had become.  The wind whipped along her face as the duo would tumble in the sky, and things would've been disastrous if she hadn't made one last plan for this.  Manipulating the mushroom ski she had made, the woman would have it shift into a flat triangular shape, even growing more spores across her palm to grow it further.  Creating a small gliding construct to at least prevent the two crashing into the ground.  "GAH!" Kiku would exclaim as she could feel pores along her forearms start to clog up.  Having manipulated mushroom armor, skis, growing an extending platform and a springy platform, the young Redhead was definitely overworking her arms.  Arms trembled as she willed the shrooms to wrap around the arms, trying to keep herself together as her arms felt like they were about to explode. Soon the duo would glide right over the finish line, going over several hills in one gigantic bound.  Fireworks and confetti cannons shot off into the air as the duo of Kikurage and Yasu/Yume's picture would appear on the giant monitor to see.  The two had cleared their group's three-legged race with an extreme gap thanks to such chaotic methods. Once on the ground, Kiku would let go of her shrooms finally, arms trembling still as she definitely didn't like the idea of spending a lot of time in the shower room giving her arms a deep cleansing.  "H-hey...  Yume," Kiku would force herself to utter out, "I figured out...  What triggers your quirk.  Say your quirk's name."  She didn't really need to use him for this section of the Sports Festival anymore, and thus decided to help him out.  She definitely didn't look forward to him groaning in agony once he realized how far he had pushed himself.... [Yasu & Yume]

Through the combined efforts of Yume the Great and Kiku the Super Smart Genius, the Hero's Party took flight and what a lead they were gaining on everyone else!

''I hope you've thought about how to land safely.''

Nope! Push away Yasu's annoying thoughts and live in the moment, they were soaring after all! She had never experienced flying through the air like this. Even though she could go fast with her quirk, she couldn't exactly go up or leap far. ''Chaaarge!'' She exclaimed alongside Kiku, laughing out loud the entire time they were flying through the air.

''I knew you'd get me killed someday.''

But almost as if Kiku had read their minds and heard Yasu's thoughts, the very next second she deployed her makeshift mushroom glider. While Yasu appreciated it, he couldn't help but grow concerned from where he was witnessing all this happen, because what he could tell that Yume couldn't was that Kiku had been pushing herself.

When they finally landed on the ground Yume's whole body would be trembling, but not from excitement. Her time was almost up and their quirk was about to deactivate. How annoying, she didn't even have time to celebrate with all the fireworks and confetti going off! If only Yasu wasn't so weak!

''Huh?'' She looked at Kikurage, blinking her eyes cluelessly. ''What, Sleepwalk-'' Like clockwork, Yume deactivated and Yasu returned. Although this time, Yasu didn't exactly look his usual self, or rather, he was a lot more shimmery and blurry this time. ''S-S-S-S-S'' Every time his mouth moved his body shimmered and stuttered like lagging pixels, or someone who has having latency problems in a video game. ''So that's-'' He walked in place for a couple of seconds before falling over without a sound, then two seconds later the thud followed. ''That's how-how-how-how it workssss.'' He looked up at Kiku, raising a laggy thumbs up. ''Tha-Tha-Th... you.'' He closed his eyes as he laid on his back and did his best not to get sick from the lag. ''Kiku...age... Shim-eiji? Are you-you-you hurt? Your a-a-arms.'' Maybe it was stupid of him to care, but she had helped them tremendously. Not to mention the fact that she had actually put up with Yume for more than 2 minutes. That was better than practically anyone he had ever met.

[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]Exhaustion [attr="class","rhythm"] Kiku would just continue lying on the ground next to Yume, eyes watching the sky as whilst biting her lip to not scream in pain over her arms.  Her chest heaved up and down, as she relented her current finding over the guy's quirk.  Yume found herself a bit flabbergasted upon such a revelation, even uttering the quirk's name once.  Yasu returned to normal, and began starting to stutter and stammer as if he were in some sort of video game. Kiku didn't even have the energy to make a comment on it, as she waited patiently for the medical team to arrive and tend to their exhaustion.  "Y-yeah, just like that," Kiku confirmed for Yasu, who even had his own speech lag in place.  Yeah, she was happy to not have his quirk. He gave his gratitude, which was returned with a nod from the redhead.  She soon heard him giving concern towards her arms, to which she would go on shook her head from side to side.  "Yeah, I'm hurt, it happens when...  Too much mushrooms without a break," Breathing a sigh of exhaustion, eyes looked lidded as she refused to change her gaze, "You're in a worse state than...  I am, you're glitching out...  Let's just...  Rest." Pausing, she would snidely add on, "So, how bout first place?  Better than doing the bare minimum?"  A smug look on her face as Yasu deeeefinitely exceeded his own expectations by this point, even if it was through the utilization of Yume.
