The swelling tide of fear flooded her senses as she tried to reconcile the fur she felt with the skin he had. Even as she managed to compose herself, her mind lost itself in pasts that were not hers. The dogs around her were friends, enemies, and rivals. She felt hungry and knew she wouldn't be fed unless the next dog she faced died.[break][break]

Thea felt teeth sink into her shoulder as imagined sensations overrode her reality. She turned to face the titan whose image was warped and distorted. Her heart raced, adrenaline pumping through her veins along with cortisol. The size difference between them was staggering; all she could feel was fear. Fear was the mind killer.[break][break]

She wanted to scream, to claw, to bite. A sliver of her mind was all that held her from baser instinct, and it struggled to keep her human. She fell to the floor with a crash as her knees slammed against the floor. Her hands pressed against her head as she did her best to hold onto the single thread of humanity.[break][break]

"I will face my fear."

"Fear is the mind-killer."

"Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

"I will permit it to pass over me and through me."

"I must not fear."

"Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration."

"And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path."

There was no way for her to know how long it took; seconds or hours all meant the same in her delirium, but eventually, she came to. Her surroundings changed. Dog cages no longer surrounded her; instead, she found herself slung over Zenkai's shoulder. The Titans hurried pace causing her to flail about and irritate the wound on her arm.[break][break]

"Put me the fuck down," she huffed in a rage despite knowing full well what had happened. She lost control; fortunately, Zenkai was there to bring her to safety. She wanted to hate him for it, and on some level, she did. [break][break]

Once released, she'd check their wounds before issuing a proclamation. "You didn't see anything happen to me, okay?" If it weren't for the fact that she was both injured and beyond her limit, she'd just as quickly have erased the memory. But for now, she had no choice but to trust the titan's ability to keep its mouth shut. "understood?" She opened her hand in a faux threat.[break][break]

Her quirk was taking a toll on her mind, she seemed lost in her own head, not herself anymore, caught somewhere between herself and the memories she had apparently taken on. It quickly became apparent to Zenkai that she wouldn't be able to finish what she started. And that was okay. No one needed to take on such a burden, it was more than enough that she had located the dogs and helped eliminate their captors. The rest of the rescue could be left to the police or actual heroes.

Just as the sapphire eyed titan was turning around to tell his partner to leave her legs gave out and she began to collapse. Before she could even hit the ground the Mentat was in his arms. Zen was surprised by how light she was, he barely even registered her weight in his arms. Honestly she seemed peaceful at the moment, far from the glare that he had been accustomed to when she was in his presence. Though the titan knew she was far from at peace, he could only imagine what kind of nightmare state her mind was in at the current moment.

"As much as I'd like to carry you like the Disney princess you are, I've got to make a phone call so...Sack of potatoes it is." The titan let out a small sigh as he tossed his unconscious companion over his shoulder and turned to the German shepherd and the other calmed dogs. "Alright, Cerberus, Striker, spot, Odin, Zeus, Shadow, Banshee, Sir sniffles, Mr. Peanut butter, Arganoth the destroyer of worlds, Bobbert, Steve, Brooklyn, Meti, Mia, Pegasus, Kirito, Akito, Banjo, Mrs. Pennyworth, and Kobi, I need you guys to stand outside the Door to this place and lead the police in when they get here? Got it?" He assumed from the various yips, barks, and confused faces that the dogs understood his request and he was grateful to them. Their help would be needed to save the other puppers who were still locked up.

After a quick phone call to the cops the golden boi was on his way to the nearest hospital. He would have waited until they got back to the university but they had both been shot and Thea seemed like she needed help as soon as humanly possible. His fears seemed to be all for naught though as he heard Thea's disgruntled voice coming from behind him telling him to politely put her down, which was a nice way of putting it.

After putting her down and listening to her request Zenkai shrugged his gigantic shoulders and turned around. "I have no idea what you're talking about dude, we went in, saved a bunch of dogs and left the rest to the authorities, easy as pie" If his partner wanted it a secret it would go with him to the grave. He might never forget what happened but no one else would have any idea of it as long as he could help it.

"Now lets go get some food, I'm starving" He groaned as he rotated his sore shoulder sending another wave of pain coursing through his body. "Oh wait, we got shot, we definitely need to go to the hospital first."
