Yuudai was not a sentimental type of guy, but he did have a heart. It was tiny and shriveled, sure, but it existed. When he heard his friend Dai was expulsed for certain actions taken he had a come what may type of attitude, but deep down her was concerned. Concerns that were founded when he started to catch wind of a new vigilante making the rounds. Knowing something had to be done sooner or later, Yuudai decided to take fate into his own hands. He had many a method of bouncing signals around the city, using cafe hotspots to mask his true location, and having multiple devices in the event one was compromised, and after doing a bit of work managed to track down Dai's phone. All it'd take was a simple, anonymous message: a time and a location, and Dai's gamertag, and he could potentially get a hold of the goober. The place in question was a fairly public restaurant. Good food, decent service, and plenty of people around. But the important thing was to show up on time and not disguise his presence. He was trying to get back in touch with his friend, and the best way to go about it was to be open with who he was as possible. What was the worst that could happen, the school would suspend him too for meeting up with a friend off campus? Daisuke Hollow

[attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] Dai moved like a shadow through the crowd, keeping his face obscured by the oversized hood of a white fox costume-hoodie. Fashion tastes aside, it was the only thing with a hood he owned, a gift from back home. It made him seriously question how his mother saw him, but he had to admit it was well-made and useful regardless. Had it not been for his mother's care packages he'd be sleeping on the street and he knew it, but he wondered how long that would last as long as he continued to refuse to return home. His mother was doting, but she was also just as fierce as his father, if not worse since she had his half-brother a year ago. He was dreading her finding out what he was up to, but for now he'd ignore the problem a little while longer. He had been surprised to see his gamertag in the message that brought him to the restaurant. He had few he would dare call friends enough to share his gamertag with, and by few he meant two. One had left him a nasty message after that video went viral, and it had made it pretty clear he'd never reach out again. There was only one other person who knew it. Still, he was nervous as he approached the spot and stuck his head in, his gaze instantly searching out anyone familiar while remaining wary. It wasn't an exaggeration to say he had more than a few enemies these days. He was relieved to see Yuudai after a moment and felt the tension leave his shoulders as he wandered in and sat across from him, but he felt awkward as he wondered what kind of interaction he was in store for. Was he pissed at him too? "Been awhile." Yuudai was lazily looking over a menu, trying to decide what he wanted; coffee for sure, multitasking on a project plus a match last night caused him to get four hours of sleep. Food wise...he wasn't sure yet. This decision would be interrupted when a voice broke him from his trance, looking up with a partially annoyed expression. However, seeing who it was a small, wicked smile appeared, and he set the menu down. "Well, if it isn't everyone's favorite shit kicker,~" he says, not bothering to stand up. "You know, you really gotta be more careful. Few more videos like that, and people might start to hate you. How about you take a seat?" Not long after a waitress came by, bright and sunny as she asked them what they wanted to start with. Naturally, Yuudai ordered his coffee, and after Dai made his selection his friend would set his elbows on the table, creating a platform with his hands to rest his chin. "Word is you've been getting into all kinds of trouble. At least, according to the law. I, of course, like to make fun of said laws and the people that wrote them, though, so I figured I'd ask you out, maybe get a bit of a scope of what you're doing exactly. That, and ask why I've been able to track you so easily." Daisuke Hollow

[attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] Dai looked at Yuudai for a moment as he told him to take a seat, but the trepidation he felt at it's friend's choice of words didn't make it into his expression. Despite the coffee-date theme, he had a feeling the meetup would resemble an interview more than catching up, but he couldn't exactly complain, all things considered. He had basically fucked up his life because of his own naivety. Not that he wouldn't admit he was defective to begin with and a criminal, but the fact that it was on video was embarrassingly careless, especially for someone from his linage. Still, although he didn't regret his actions, he felt rather stupid for assuming it was out of public sight because it had been on a rooftop. "Pretty sure they already hate me, actually." He mused as he looked over the menu, not really hungry but not remembering the last time he ate either and knowing he probably should. In the end he ordered coffee and a toasted bagel before leaning back in his chair and regarding Yuudai as the other man asked him a question, but he wasn't too sure of the answer himself. As it was, he had no idea what he was doing. Since he left U.A. he felt like he was wandering in the dark trying to find a light-switch, but nothing had come of it. No leads. No mention of the villain he was really after. Nothing. He shifted his gaze to the side and suppressed a sigh at that simple fact. He had been working as a contract killer as of late, and although he picked jobs that only involved targets society would be better off without anyway, it did little to change the fact that he wasn't a good person now, either. He had heard the term 'become what you hate' a lot growing up, but he hadn't expected it to become the theme of his own life. "Frankly, I don't know what I'm doing." He answered the first question after a pause, looking back to Yuudai. "I thought I could track down someone, maybe.. but I didn't think, really.. as I should have." He was a bit embarrassed by his own lack of planning or thought to consequences, but at the time he had taken U.A. and it's protection for granted. His tunnel-vision and lack of forethought had cost him nearly everything. "As for the second question, because you out-nerd me." Yuudai could help but laugh, leaning back in his chair. "You do have that problem. I gotta plan around your antics in teamfights because of that," he says, a grin plastered on his face. It wouldn't take long for their orders to make it out, and as Yuudai dumped plenty of cream and sugar in his coffee he kept an eye on his friend. "Of course, that's not me trying to drag down your efforts. You weren't top of the hero course, but you have talent and drive. Even if you forget to turn your phone off." Little jab aside, he started to think over this predicament. His own antics were about on par with Dai's, but he was much more secretive. More careful. At least, in the three times he had gone out at the dead of night. "You're right, I do out-nerd you. But there's a good reason for that. You know how I am in some of the games we play. I like setting things up, and striking only when the time is right...and never showing my hand until I'm ready." A more genuine smile came across his face as he lifted the mug up to take a sip. "Let's say, hypothetically, I know someone that could help you. Maybe not track down this person you're looking for, but someone that can potentially cover your tracks. Would you be open to the idea? Last thing either of us want is you ending up in jail."Daisuke Hollow

[attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] As Yuudai spoke, Dai added a little creamer to his coffee and stirred it absently, his focus still on his friend's words more than what he was doing. If he were more normal, a smirk might have appeared at the game references. Though to someone that knew him better like Yuudai, the amused look in his eyes was likely more obvious. "Rogues rarely get to the top anyway." He knew what class he'd land in if this were one of their games, the same class he often played when he wasn't mixing it up. Rogue. Good at stealth, recon, and tricks. Nothing really else. Not that he ever had goals of being a Top Hero or popular per say, none of the Heroes his family had produced were the kind you saw or read about. You could look them up, but even his uncle who was known as the loudest of them all still stayed unrecognized on the street. The flashy ones with strong quirks were the ones to rise to the top, not ninjas with Bluetooth senses. "True, that nerdiness is why you called the shots, and why half those missions didn't end in utter failure." Dai took a drink of his coffee and regarded his friend for a moment as he spoke of someone that could help him. Although it was just basically a referral, he still felt rather bothered by the idea of Yuudai getting involved even a little. The last thing he wanted was to end up ruining the lives of those around him, too. "Is there any chance of it biting you in the ass later?" As he asked, his eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at him across the table. As much as he wanted to refuse outright, he also could admit Yuudai was right that he needed help with hiding his tracks. Growing up his family hadn't had so much as a telephone on the estate's grounds, so he had had to learn and catch up on tech during his first two years at U.A. It had led to a love for videogames, but he still wasn't great at it and he knew it, let alone everything involved in tracking tech. The question got a laugh out of Yuudai, a little too enthusiastic as he clamped a hand over his mouth to stifle the laughter. "Bite me in the ass? Do you know who you're even talking to?" Composing himself, Yuudai let his hands rest on the table, leaning in a little as that same shit-eating grin crossed his face. "No one alive can track me. No one. Including you, if I so chose." He was every bit confident about this claim, too. It was a little odd, considering Yuudai's hobbies and talents, and even stranger since he was part of the General Studies department. While there was methods to get into the hero course, though, he didn't seem the type to want that. "Guy I know is called Wraith. He's not well known, but he knows his stuff. Can't say I know much more than that, but I can hook you up. I won't get into any trouble, and I have a bit of peace of mind knowing my best friend isn't floundering out there in the world." [attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] The corner of Dai's mouth formed a barely-noticable smirk as he looked at Yuudai. "Me not being able to track you is no flex, not in that context anyway." He mused, ripping a piece of his bagel off and popping it into his mouth. Although his art was becoming outdated thanks to technology, he still knew enough on espionage to get by without needing to mess with digital footprints, so he never bothered to try. He knew enough to understand information he got his hands on, but he preferred to track irl than on the web and was far better at it. Wrath sounded a bit edgy, but with an alias like Kagesaru, Dai couldn't really judge. Besides, he trusted anyone Yuudai did. His friend had always had a much better grasp on people than Dai did. "Fine. I won't say no to help. Do you know what he'd even want in return?" Yuudai shrugged. He wasn't exactly sentimental, but how many friends did Yuudai have exactly? He wouldn't mind maintaining this contact, as it made the gaming sessions that much more enjoyable. That, and it was fun to meme on him from time to time. That said, there was something he did need: he had a deadbeat father he had to find, and there was only so much hacking he could do to turn up a lead. Sure, he could talk with Recall and Lone Wolf to get a better picture, but Recall would ask too many questions and Lone Wolf would tell him it wasn't worth his time. Even asking other students, like that Kanjo person, wouldn't be ideal due to their sheer sense of right and wrong. Yuudai wasn't afraid to break a few eggs to make an omelet. While he wasn't as brutal as Dai, sometimes you had to color outside the lines to paint a pretty picture. "I wouldn't know. Guy's kind of a mystery to me, hard to read. He's keen on favors for favors, though. Pretty sure there's a few lines he doesn't cross, but that's something you two will have to talk out." Daisuke Hollow

[attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] It sounded reasonable. Not that Dai was too worried about it, if they had lines they wouldn't cross than he doubted they were the kind of person he couldn't get along with. He couldn't really afford to be picky, so as long as the guy wasn't a piece of shit then he was game. "Do you have a way to contact them that isn't too overly complicated?" He really hoped there was a simplified version, but with Yuudai he somewhat doubted it. He and Yuudai had two very different versions of 'simple' when it came to technology. "Preferably, a way that does not involve code..."[newclass=.alpha]background-color:#ffffff;padding:20px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.beta]background-color:#444444;color:#ffffff;padding:20px;line-height:15px;text-align:justify;letter-spacing:2px;word-spacing:1px;[/newclass]

Yuudai couldn't help but laugh. Partly because...well, Dai was talking with Wraith. But also, code had infected every part of his own life that it was stressing out those around him. "Man, we have different thoughts on what is and isn't complicated. No code is ever simple." If it looked simple, there was in no way that it was. A hard lesson, and a recurring pit trap for anyone in the biz. Instead, Yuudai pulled out a card. At least, it looked to be in the rough shape of a card; in reality, it was a flap off of a cereal box cut in half wrapped in notebook paper. At the very least, it had this funny looking logo in the top left corner, with the words: Wraith: making your problems disappear, one criminal at a time! followed by an email address. "Suggest you use a library to get in touch. Harder to track that way. Or a coffee shop. I found this place not long ago, ah, Random Slay or something like that? Anyways, better to do so in an anonymous place. And not check your email back two places in a row. Or, ideally, set up a day and time that works best for you." Daisuke Hollow

[attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] "Actually that's where we agree, which is why I hate code." He could adapt to do it and deal with code if he needed to, but he always preferred not to. Frankly, it was always a pain in the ass. Had his hair not been white already since birth, he was positive coding would have turned it white by now anyway. He was relieved that Yuudai's method was actually simple, though even Dai's issues with expressing emotion did not stop the raised eyebrow as he looked at the make-shift business card. "What do you suggest I ask his help with?" He asked after a moment, not even bothering to pretend like he knew exactly what he was fucking up tech-wise. Usually he didn't have his phone on him, but rather stashed it and checked in periodically, but admittedly that was the best he had. A few times he had forgotten to turn it off before leaving it, but he wasn't smart enough to know if that even mattered. "Can you track phones that are off..?"[newclass=.alpha]background-color:#ffffff;padding:20px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.beta]background-color:#444444;color:#ffffff;padding:20px;line-height:15px;text-align:justify;letter-spacing:2px;word-spacing:1px;[/newclass] wraith,

It was a question that Yuudai wasn't prepared to answer. He scratched the side of his face, thinking. "If the phone is off, no. However, just about everything is designed to give off a timestamp these days. If your phone is turned on and sends out a signal, one of the default things it does is reach out to the network. Using this call, depending on where you turn it on it could be used to triangulate your location." He shrugged. "It'd be a challenge even for me, so if you're keeping it off most of the time then you're doing something right." Credit where credit was due. "He can help with the simplest things. Put a scrambler on your phone so when you do turn it on it's even harder to track, for a fee he can probably keen an eye on your signal and bounce it around so it's harder to find you. He might even be able to work as an informant, but I haven't asked." Daisuke Hollow
