Megumi was born with an overt appreciation of everyone's ability to enjoy life. However, in that same sense, if people are not enjoying life or are suffering too much in her eyes, then it should be the ultimate kindness of giving them death. She was a modest person growing up, tending to be a bit more soft spoken although taking the time to appreciate all aspects of life. Especially the boundless creativity of life as she visited plenty of Art and History museums, even when her sect was against such experiences as they feared she might get corrupted and lose her faith. Megumi is very open minded to learning new things and new ways of life, although becomes very closed to the idea of rejection as everything is always permitted. There is no boundary that shouldn't be crossed if it means people can improve or feel better, which contributed to her advanced levels of learning within her private school and studying within libraries and museums.
Though a notable shift occurred upon having unlocked the full potential of her quirk, in which she had fell into a bit of a psychosis. This psychosis wound up with her creating a brand new personality and reality for herself, in which she believes in what she calls the Fundamentals where all aspects of life are blessed by what is colloquially known as the Seven Heavenly Virtues and Seven Deadly Sins, and that she was graced by the Goddess of Kindness to act as her Vessel and Prophet. Despite the source, Megumi soon became completely in this new religion, very much willing to share these beliefs and thoughts to any who are ignorant to her newfound discoveries. To her, the Goddess of Kindness delivers the Ultimate Kindness of a restful, painless death to remove all of the worries and anguish one has on the mortal plane. Hence she sees Death as nothing more than the ultimate act of kindness to grant upon another, unable to comprehend as to why people would fear death when it finally comes for them. She also seeks those who embody the other 'Fundamentals,' hoping to learn and ally with them to share their religious/cult following to the unknowing masses.

Megumi is a tall, slender woman with piercing red eyes and long orange hair. Her skin has a deathly light pale blue hue to it, without a single blemish to her soft skin except for build-ups of Soul Energy coursing through her body to create patterns or designs that glow a soft cyan blue hue [the glow is usually strong enough to glow right through the brands of Compression Clothing Megumi owns]. To mitigate her body's colder nature for her own and other people's comfort, Megumi wears special varieties of black compression tops and bottoms that fit well to her body. Over this layer of Compression Clothing can be a wide variety of clothing when she is dressed as a civilian, but whichever style of clothing she wears there's always a level of cleanliness or elegance to her attire that seems to make her stand out. When in her Ritualistic or Priestess garbs, her wardrobe tends to fall into much darker tones that flow quite heavily in ornate patterns. The cloths can drape along the ground, and half the time result in a pointed hood that interlocks with her own hair through a mixture of ritual and fashion.
When activating her Danse Macabre, her skin and hair entirely darken to black, with her skeleton being able to be seen through her body. Body paint in reds and light blue adorns her face similar to Painted Sugar Skulls, and an ethereal energy sprouting from her body to transmogrify the clothing she is currently wearing into her Danse Macabre's clothing. This transformation can also affect objects she is touching to match her transformation's aesthetic. See Quirk section for more.

Megumi was born quite privileged into a loving family in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. Both parents were religious through Christianity, being quite devout followers to the point where Megumi's mother was a Priestess for a sect and her father was an accountant for the clergy. With both of their salaries and Megumi's father making smart trades within the Stock Market, the cold-skinned girl had all of her needs and wants met. These loving parents instilled very good values into her, choosing to teach her lessons more through the actions and morals of the stories than attempting to be quite literal with the religious allegories. With these values and a very safe home life, Megumi was growing up to be a rather kind hearted woman. Even in High School her parent's kind nature had infected the young woman to offer her own services for charity work and being one of the people to organize thank you gifts and retirement parties for her teachers. She even had a good idea as to what she wanted to do in her life, which was to follow her mother's footsteps as an ordained Priestess.
Come graduation and the young woman had a perfect in into becoming a Priest thanks to her mother's own seniority and having been instilled with these beliefs for the longest time. As a young adult she helped lead mass and performed duties at local churches in the area, sharing the kindness and charity to everyone in the community. Working as a Priest during the day times, and enjoying all sorts of arts and history and mythologies when she wasn't actively working as a Priest. Her pursuit of knowledge and culture soon had her encounter music as a whole, to which she soon heard a song called The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. Something in that song awoke something different in her, as that was the first time she heard the words 'Don't fear the Reaper.' It was almost automatic, like something otherworldly was possessing her as a string of words escaped her lips. Upon uttering these four lines, her body completely transformed as she fully realized her Danse Macabre quirk.
It didn't help that her quirk spontaneously erupted in the middle of a mall's music store, and a rowdy hero upon seeing someone use their quirk leapt into action with a stretchy-armed punch decking the young woman in the face. Knocking her out completely from the strike, and hitting her head against a counter's corner definitely rattled her brain pretty extra from that point onward. Having lost consciousness, Megumi had fallen into a coma that in reality only lasted three days from the head injury.
Due to her quirk awakening and the head trauma, Megumi underwent a Psychosis of sorts where it felt like she spent three years inside of her own mind. Having awakened in her church and living her life accordingly, until she met a woman wearing clothing reminiscent of something a woman would wear during The Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexican Culture. In bodily structure and facial features she looked nearly identical to Megumi, although definitely had a unique appearance of having her bones visibly shine through her skin. And despite the cold aura this woman exuded, Megumi almost felt a loving warmth from her. This woman introduced herself as Kindness, Lady Death. She assured Megumi that it wasn't her time to pass onto the afterlife, but rather was chosen specifically to become her envoy, her prophet, her vessel.
Lady Death elaborated upon the influenced and mentally fragile Megumi upon what was called the Fundamentals: Pride, Humility, Envy, Kindness, Gluttony, Temperance, Greed, Charity, Wrath, Patience, Sloth, Diligence, Lust, and Chastity. Colloquially known as the Seven Deadly Sins and Heavenly Virtues, these Fundamentals were what said colloquialisms were based upon. The Fundamentals were essentially gods who gave their blessing to those who embodied their respective Aspect. Each Fundamental may act on their own or have their own intentions, but all fourteen vow to keep balance to the world through their teachings. And of the Billions of people in this world, Megumi inhabited Kindness' teachings the most. Having fallen for the sweet words of this Psychosis-induced illusion, Megumi who had seen this concept in passing whilst reading internet web-comics and browsing the art-side of social media, had crafted an entire mythos inside of her own head and took it as reality.
Kindness took Megumi under her wing, teaching her the Fundamental of Kindness. Reinforcing Megumi's current beliefs on what Kindness is, but also adding the layer of how Death is the greatest act of kindness one could give to another, sending them to the afterlife where Lady Death herself can care for their souls for the rest of eternity. Teaching Megumi that while the Fourteen Fundamentals work in unison to care for the well-being of Humanity and the World at large, they often butt heads over the methods they use and that Kindness would give Megumi the skills necessary to fend for herself to avoid falling to those who reject the Ultimate Kindness. Moments turned to Days turned to Months turned to Years within Megumi's head, spending what felt like an eternity training with and learning from Kindness herself. Though, rather abruptly in the middle of one of the training sessions Kindness imposed upon Megumi, she would halt the girl's Scythe and Blade training in order to give her one last affirmation. Affirming that Megumi was ready to finally accept the Blessing of Kindness, and was ready to venture out into the world to act on Kindness' behest. She trusted Megumi's thoughts and mindset, saying that Megumi learned well.
Kindness would impart that when Megumi 'returned' back to where she belonged, if Megumi needed to borrow her Lady's strength then all she had to do was recite Kindness' Mantra. The same mantra Megumi would need to utter in order to transform into the Danse Macabre. Along with one final gift, a name for Kindness' newest Envoy/Prophet/Vessel. After all, Megumi herself wasn't the Goddess of Death herself, but rather her prophet. So Megumi was bequeathed the title...
Mercy.
Megumi's eyes shot open within the hospital, awakening to her parents freaking out and being thankful to God that their baby had woken up. The young woman felt rather off, and was shocked to learn that only three days had passed. The Hero whom knocked her out was soon called in, apologizing profusely for the attack before he and the officer with him warned her about using her quirk. Which once again confused Megumi, as her memory from the Mall attack was fuzzy, but took the slap on the wrist. The young woman tried to share what she experienced within her own head to her parents and doctors, but were both shunned and rejected by her parents for such religious heresy AND then tried to explain it away from a coma induced Psychosis in which the brain, while out of touch with reality, crafted new memories to experience to cope with what was happening. Megumi almost believed them, and went along with the recovery plan and began Christian prayers once more like nothing happened.
Upon being discharged from the Hospital, Megumi would return to her apartment and find herself looking at her mirror. Locking eyes with herself as she felt like she was losing her mind, she wanted... No, she needed Kindness' words to make her feel safe and at home. She needed her guiding hand, and that was when her final memories rung in her head. That's when she uttered it...
"Please Do Not Fear The Reaper, Nor Her Envoy For Their Job; For We Are The Soul's Keepers, The Kind Danse Macabre."
Her body erupted in a brand new transformation, changing Megumi into a whole new person almost entirely. It was as if Kindness herself granted the cold skinned woman her appearance, to act on her behalf in the realm of the living. What was her quirk responding to these new changes and awakening fully, Megumi took as her Goddess granting her strength to carry out her will. Undoing whatever mental recovery that her parents and doctors and therapists tried to impart upon her, Megumi was ready to spread the good word of Kindness to everyone in the world.

EQUIPMENT NAME: Merciful Trick Scythe
EQUIPMENT RANK: B-
EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER: Bakiri Retsu
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: A Scythe specially made by Bakiri Retsu, which when put together creates a singular scythe that locks its joints in places. It stands at 6 feet and 6 inches tall, with a 3 foot long curved blade when all put together. However at the behest of the user, it can unlatch at certain joints to have the pole staff detach from the blade and even fold in on itself, converting the scythe blade into a curved blade. QUIRK NAME: Danse Macabre (Dance of Death)
QUIRK RANK: C
QUIRK TYPE: Transformation/Emitter
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: On the surface Megumi seems to have been born with a benign quirk which causes her skin to be cold to the touch, have glowing cyan markings across her body in various changing patterns, and allows her to use minor 'Soul Energy' to levitate objects she is touching a couple inches.
However upon reciting a ritualistic chant she is able to transform into what she calls the 'Danse Macabre.' The chant she has to utter is: "Please Do Not Fear The Reaper, Nor Her Envoy For Their Job; For We Are The Soul's Keepers, The Kind Danse Macabre." Upon uttering these words, Megumi's body shifts and transforms. Her skin and hair entirely darken to black, with her skeleton being able to be seen through her body.
While transformed as the Danse Macabre, Megumi passively exudes what she calls 'Soul Energy' which drains the heat of her surroundings to create an otherworldly chill. Megumi is able to imbue this freezing aura into objects in order to create more intense freezing sensations and freezing over her surroundings. This Soul Energy can also be utilized to dull the pain tolerance of those affected, allowing people to ignore or even be unaware of their own injuries.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Megumi's Soul-Levitation she can apply while out of her transformed state can only affect handheld objects that anyone with D- strength can hold, as it's more a parlor trick than anything actually viable. Megumi's transformation to utilize her quirk requires her to verbalize her chant out loud at normal room speaking volume and complete it in full. If she is silenced in any fashion [ie submerged in water, being choked, being gagged] or interrupted in the middle of making her chant, Megumi will be unable to transform to use her quirk. Anything that causes Megumi to lose consciousness will also kick her out of this Danse Macabre state.
While Danse Macabre is active, the heat draining sensations become far more intense the closer someone is to Megumi to where someone she physically touches can start freezing over and become less frozen the further one is from Megumi. The Soul Energy itself can not inflict any actual damage, so it requires a medium to pass onto those Megumi wishes to affect within her grasp and will remain as a conduit for the Soul Energy until it is out of her grasp for more than a post round or is broken. Staying in her Danse Macabre state for too long and/or overexertion of her Soul Energy can forcibly revert Megumi back to her normal state and the sudden whiplash of 'Soul Energy' causes frostbite to affect her body, dropping her Speed down to D-.
