[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]In search of a Master [attr="class","rhythm"] Having awoken from the dream, Megumi was convinced that her visions were reality thanks to her quirk giving a slight confirmation bias.  There seemed to be no plausible reason to her that her quirk's transformation matched the same appearance.  With her own confirmations affirmed, the next step was to transfer the skills she had learned within that Dreamscape into reality.  She could still feel her Goddess' training within her soul, yet her body lacked the same exact training.  Having no Trick Weapon of her own to practice with, the next best thing would be to train in one of the local dojos. After having finished her services at Sunday Mass, Megumi changed out of her priestess garbs and into a simple yet elegant looking black-and-white dress.  Such a dress covered her compression fits and gym attire pretty well, as the cold skinned woman would head out of the greater Shinjuku area to where more of the suburban buildings were at. In particular, following her phone's map application towards a local dojo that had favorable enough reviews.  The young woman held an ever present smile upon her face, crimson eyes half glued to her phone and every now and again glancing up to look at the sidewalk she was walking on. Turning the corner at at the high wall fencing of the dojo, Megumi would find herself entering the front entrance of the Dojo...  Uncertain of what to expect, as she held onto her stylized duffel bag holding spare clothing and other bits and bobs.  Hopefully this Dojo, the second one she visited today, would be able to help instill proper sword discipline in her physical shell.  So it could match the experience that Kindness taught her through those years of personalized training. Arms tucked behind the small of her back, with the ever-present swish of her hakama, the fledgling master was indeed watching, but not in silence like a panther. Instead, she barked out commands over the hour, instructing and demanding that her students move in unison as they practiced their drills. From the initial warmup of stretching and balance exercises to the culmination of the session when each held a shinai in hand, her feminine voice carried a presence with it that expected obedience. To say that Nox enjoyed teaching her favored style was an understatement. For the young ronin, the ability to command came with its own intoxicating allure. Arguably fair, for she needed to be with paying customers, the fact was they had all chosen to train under her. Aggressive in her training style and forward with her approach to interaction with her students, each and everyone of the sweat soaked louts accepted the treatment for the payoff at the end of the bumpy road. As far as she saw it, the situation was win-win for all of them. Ultimately, the reason for the power dynamic was because she had earned her place at a young age while they still strove to find it. If only they would break from the norms of society in other areas beyond a less than traditional sensei, then they might realize what a crock it all was. ”Enough. We are finished for the day. Practice your drills at home and I will see you all in three days.” The gathered students were quick to welcome the end of the intensive session, a few opting to breathe and stretch before gathering their things. Gradually though they would flow out of the dojo. Nox herself had been trained here, but as the actual owner grew older, he allowed for her and others to teach their own classes for a small fee. This was not as lucrative as other activities, but it was close to her heart so she continued the practice a handful of times each week. This crowd would no doubt pass the stranger who approached outside, as her phone guided her towards the dojo. As the students left and another individual approached, the door to the place was left open. A common practice to let the area breathe naturally, Nox set to getting things back in order. Thinking little of the laws of society, this place meant something to her, and she respected its rules because she chose to. The aging owner was one of the few people in the world she was comfortable with referring to as sensei or anything close. He had earned that respect unlike so many others. Adjusting the racks that held the shinai and quietly humming to herself, she expected her day to be done. Dressed in black, hair up in a high ponytail with several bangs hanging free, the woman of average height sported a katana at each hip. With the majority of those she knew misled on her quirk, they suspected her choice to wear them here was because it was allowed. On the streets it became difficult to stroll with two bladed weapons so visible. [attr="class","rhythm"] Entering the grounds of the Dojo, she was met with a crowd of people swarming around her.  All of which were making towards teh exit, a great amount of them looking rather exhausted from all of the supposed training they had endured.  Left and right as they left, Megumi continued her well-trained smile as she looked at the historical culture of this dojo.  The weathered building and the gravel floor lent to the authenticity and ambiance of the culture here... Passing them by, she would soon make towards the main entrance of the building to which there was a young looking woman with dark hair dressed in black training gear.  Two bladed weapons sheathed at both of her hips, definitely giving an air of authority to being here. A smile grew on Megumi's face as she approached the woman with that very same smile.  A curtsy came from the taller, cold skinned woman as she introduced herself, "Fair Greetings to you.  I am Megumi Shinsetsumi, and I was search of a dojo in the town area for some specialized training courses."  Pulling up her phone to reveal how she found the dojo. "It's the second one I came to, as the first didn't have anything in lieu of swordsmanship regimens."  A head tilt to the side, the even pace of Megumi's words would continue, "I supposed your facility offers such courses, considering what is on your sides?" She found herself looking up to meet the stranger’s features. Average in height, it was still on the rarer side for the ronin to look up at another woman to such an extent. Receptive to random encounters, accustomed to it considering her position as a part-time teacher, she returned a small smile as Megumi introduced herself. Looking down to regard the phone before honey colored orbs rose back to Megumi’s face with a curious smile. ”And what might a tall drink of water such as yourself require a blade for, Megumi?” As she spoke, both hands went to rest comfortably on the hilts of her twin blades. Clearly comfortable with them, the question was a playful one over anything else. Whether the woman possessed an answer or found the question odd, Nox soon continued. ”Here at Nippon budokan we teach kenjutsu. The old man has quite the talent for it even if he lacks the speed he once did.” Another pause came with a visible scan of Megumi’s tall frame. ”That being said, I take students as well and my schedule is more open than his. What would you use it for? Be honest. I have a harder exterior than most think. I’m Nox by the way, Nox Hattori.” Curious and somewhat playful smile back on her face, Nox wondered what fueled this request. In her experience, it took a certain drive to even take up kenpo in general, never mind when one was beyond their younger years. Children took this sort of thing as a hobby or because mommy and daddy forced them. Making assumptions about Megumi’s age, there had to be something more to why she sought out this training. [attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]The Kind Truth [attr="class","rhythm"] Approaching the one who currently commanded the most authority here, the more normal sized person reacted a only little to Megumi's odd stature.  In fact using it as a compliment of sorts to segue into inquiring about Megumi's necessity for a blade.  "I require a blade in order to perform my Mistress' duties," Megumi saw no reason to tell falsehoods to someone whom she entrusted to teach her.  Wearing that smile on her face as she nodded and kept her hands interlocked with one another, almost seeming otherworldly with the elegant posture she held. Nox would follow up by mentioning that the Dojo, Nippon Budokan, they taught Kenjutsu.  Specifically her 'Old Man' who has a talent for it even if he wasn't in his prime.  "A shame that time and age has stolen his skills.  I do hope he's being cared warmly," Megumi shared her condolences, to have been given an slight answer as to Nox being an instructor as well.  "Oh, you taking up his mantle to keep his legacy alive is quite a Kind gesture." Megumi commented as she added a head bob and tilt to the side, happy to hear that Nox was taking care of his duties so he can enjoy the final years of his life in comfort. That was when Nox would share the question most pressing on her mind, as Megumi was far disconnected from the usual learners of Kenjutsu.  Having a different living style, acting style, body type and age compared to the young hyper active kids or frumpy angsty kids; it was absolutely fair for Nox to believe there was something more to Megumi. After introducing herself as Nox Hattori, Megumi responded in Kind, "Charmed.  It is quite a pleasure to meet you, Madame Hattori." Her own manners shone quite brightly as she respected the well-trained instructor, as she would reply, "To which ends I strive to use your skills are to help spread the word of Lady Kindness' message.  It is a pursuit that will put me at odd's ends with those who reject my Lady's message, and my body is currently out of touch with the level of training she gave me before I returned.  I wish to recover and hone my skill back to what it must be" Her even and measured tone almost made it sound like Megumi was reciting poetry or speaking at Mass.  That smile never faded as the majority of her movement came from slight head bobs, speaking in such a trained manner that one could honestly think she had memorized a script to share.  In reality, this was just Megumi's new normal as she was a bit out of touch with reality itself. "I can assure you that money is no matter, as I value your skills first and foremost and believe you should be properly compensated for such thing," Megumi would attempt to reassure Nox, making an incorrect assumption as to why her instructor was quite curious about Megumi's intentions or purpose for the training. What a curious thing to have.” Unsure what context came with the mentioned relationship and Megumi’s duties to the woman, Nox made a mental note to delve into that deeper. Compared to her average students this one was unique and held a certain mysterious appeal. A mistress, duties that included swordplay and not to mention the size of the woman, the ronin would be a liar if she said she did not want to learn a little more. Her approach was bold, yet the way she held those hands clasped together was so primp and proper it hinted at an abundance of discipline. An interesting mix. Nox could work with that. ”Mmmm, yes. He has earned comfort in the twilight of his life. I have chosen to continue his teachings to honor them and what he has given me. Few in this world are worthy of my time, but he is.” Even as she praised him, Nox withheld her Sensei’s name. By design, she kept the relationship between them to herself. The same way she did with her mother and father. For as devious as her desires were at times, she did nothing to bring the few she cared for into it. Smiling in acceptance at the use of “Madame Hattori,” both hands remained set on her the hilts of her blades, letting Megumi explain why it was she wished to hone her skills. The words only furthered the warrior’s interest in this woman’s Mistress. Her statement sounded rehearsed, another show of discipline. Unsure of the woman’s actual strength, her size alone suggested she might be above average, yet she was brought to heel by another. Nox wanted to meet this woman. Against “the establishment,” Nox wasn’t against the idea of those with strength taking leadership via that strength and influence. In an attempt to test the potential prospect in her own way, Nox began to circle Megumi, watching her movements to see if she offered anything beyond clasped hands and small nods…or if she held the obedient pose. ”If money is no option then you can definitely afford private lessons with me and I am willing to teach you, but…” She hesitated as she stepped back in front of the woman. ”…I want you to understand that kenjutsu is more than swordplay. We focus on balance, speed, control and precision, it is a discipline I do not take lightly. Will you commit if I accept you? Will you take my teachings and do them honor? I care not what means you use them for, only that you stay true to the core of what I teach you. If you can agree to that, we can start today.” Nox’s eyes met Megumi’s, stern and direct with a spec of a challenge in them. A forward woman herself, she expected others to meet her code if they wished to learn from her. Should Megumi agree and Nox hoped she would, the woman’s smile would return. ”Excellent. Do tell though, what is your Lady’s message? The fact you mentioned there are those who reject it has me quite curious.” Smile shifting to a grin. ”You might be surprised, but I often find others who disagree with my views on the world as well. However, I think that is because so many think so small.” Unafraid to be honest as well, the ronin was curious if this woman and her mistress went against the grain like she did. [attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]Kindness of the 14 Fundamentals Megumi wouldn't comment on the curiosity of having a mistress, and seemed to agree on the sentiment of being able to care for her Master's teachings.  Madame Hattori smiled at the name she was given.  Nox began circling Megumi, who remained ever still, facing forward as she would allow her teacher to observe her potential student.  Nox in her circling would seem happy at the moment to hear that money wasn't an issue and that she was more than willing to teach Megumi.  However, there were some disciplines that Nox wanted to instill within the Kindly Priestess.  Instilling a belief that Kenjutsu was a way of life, and that she wouldn't be happy if she takes it lightly.  Having quite a great amount of Pride in her own craft, Megumi's smile would grow quite a bit at seeing the glimmer of a Fundamental within this woman. "I vow to accept your skill with grace and honor, to dedicate myself to honing my body to a point worthy of the skills you'll bequeath upon me," Megumi would iterate and pledge to Nox, meeting the woman's gaze with a kind intensity.  Finding no sort of hesitation nor doubt about herself, as the young woman felt that she could absolutely follow through with such disciplines.  Lady Death believed and trusted that Megumi could undergo her training regimen, and thusly Megumi believed that Kindness' Prophet can undergo any training regimen. Nox returned a smile as she would inquire about Megumi's Mistress's message.  "Oh?" Megumi would hum out with her smile, feeling like a door was opening right before her very eyes.  "I don't believe in the idea of rejecting other people's ideas or values.  Always keeping an open mind to new ideas allows for Humanity to grow in splendor.  My Lady's message is of Kindness, one of the 14 Fundamentals." Taking pause, she would elaborate in full, "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear, the blind can see, and the dead can feel.  Lady Kindness welcomes those who are at the end of their lives and are suffering, welcoming them into her realm for which she can care for the souls for the rest of eternity."  Straightening her posture a bit, her voice seemed to pick up a bit as she continued, "People who suffer or despair should be comforted and be given comfort in their darkest of times, in their final moments.  For Death is the Ultimate Kindness one can give to those in their final moments of life."
