Festivals were not something that Calliope was enthusiastic about. They were loud, busy, and usually involved a lot more than she was privy to having around her. Most of the time, Calli chose to stay away from crowds and instead watch from a vantage point on her own; this type of view allowed her to not be disturbed by the things that would usually get to her.

Perhaps it was because she had drank a little bit before, but she decided to break her rule. Tonight, she decided to have some fun. dressed up in a more revealing dress than she would usually wear, she screamed in victory as she won the water gun carnival game. "Suck that!" She said to no one in particular, and happily took her prize. It was a huge chick plushie. Grabbing it with both of her arms, she would hold it by her stomach as she walked around contently. Thankfully, most of the people here still avoided her eye contact; they were either little kids with their families, or couples. She had neither.

That was fine, it wasn't like she wanted to go to a stupid festival with anyone anyways. It wasn't important, she didn't... The frustration of the situation made her hungry. Looking around, the closest stall was cotton candy. She'd get a mixture of blue and pink, saying a polite thank you despite her tipsy state and moving away from the stall. As she started to munch down on her cotton candy, she had to do a double take. In front of her, there was someone with the same hair color as her cotton candy. Reaching out, her hand would caress the back of his neck, before she would move to his side. "Wow, I almost ate your hair! Better be careful!" Looking at him in the eyes with no care, she would blush and be taken aback. "Oh shit, and you're hot! Win win!"

A young man in a white modern-style hakama slipped through the crowds with sprezzatura, his pink & blue eyes giving a relaxed expression as he scanned his surroundings. Although he might have lost his bet, his new cotton-candy themed appearance did give him some breathing room to get out more, for now anyway. That said, what better place to get some fresh air than the Nest of Heroes? Not doing so seemed like a wasted opportunity, and he wondered what little birds could be running about~

However, rather than finding a little bird to pester, one found him as he paused to the side of the path and felt something suddenly brush the back of his neck. Instantly his senses shot to alert-status, but rather than react as one might expect, he seemed to simply enjoy the spike of adrenaline and smiled unconcerned as the girl appeared beside him. However with their rather even height, it wasn't long before his gaze flicked up to her eyes and he immediately felt something wrong.

He blinked as an unsteadiness came over him, and casually leaned back a little to adjust his center of balance against the sudden dizziness, but otherwise acted as if unbothered, his gaze not leaving hers as he smirked at her words.
"Do you whisper sweet nothings to all the boys you run into?"

He was so pretty. He looked like cotton candy. Not caring for the fact that she was for sure making him dizzy, she would just stand beside him and smile. "Nope, only the pretty ones! You're of course the prettiest." Alcohol could not be smelt on her breath, but it was clear that she was a bit tipsy. "I like to speak my mind, and I think you're hot." Looking around him, she would try to see if he was with anyone. "If you're free, wanna hang out?" She'd offer her hand to him with a genuine smile. "These festivals aren't as fun if you don't have fun people to do them with! Don't you think so?" Whether or not he grabbed her hand, she would stay beside him. "Name's Calli, nice to meet you sweet heart. I hope that you have had a lot of fun because this type of stuff has a lot to do." She would move her chicken plushie more into his view. "See? Did you win anything? Want me to win anything for you?" There was a lot of talking for someone that was usually quiet, but he seemed like someone that she would want to get to know. Whether that was a good or a bad thing remained to be seen.

As Church looked into her eyes, his gaze flicked to and fro slightly for a moment as if considering something before he paused and let a smirk grace his features. What he supposed was an effect of her quirk quite intrigued him, and before he knew it he found himself wanting to see what it could do. Besides, this was the safest place in Tokyo was it not? He might as well have a little fun~

"Pleasure is mine, sweet-talker." He gave her a humored wink and took her hand without care. "My name's Xander, and it's my first time here so such a cute guide would be perfect~" For now he decided to use his middle name for once, a little switch up to match his new looks. He assumed she was just a student, but you could never be too careful in the Heroes home turf either, and a name like Church wasn't exactly common.

Behind the smile, Church's world was starting to spin like crazy. However, he was holding himself together quite well besides the occasional twitch of his shoulder as he fought the feeling telling him he would fall. Half of his attention was devoted to his body and remaining upright, but instead of being distressed he was enjoying himself in an odd way, taking it more as a challenge than a threat.

"Oh? You must be a Hero-to-be if you're that confident~" He chuckled and headed towards the other game stands, gently tugging her along as his world tipped dangerously before seeming to suddenly go back to normal as she glanced away for a moment. Due to his over-correcting, the sudden change made him falter a little, but he recovered quickly and merely chuckled to himself as he continued to the next game stand.
"Well then, lets see your skills Miss Calli~"

"Pleasure is all mine!" Calliope would laugh at that thought. Was it a pleasure to get to know a stranger? Probably, because this stranger was pretty. "Xander is a cool name, it's like Sander." Did she know a Sander? Nope, so her point was irrelevant. "I'd be happy to be your guide!" She was cute? That was a win of a comment! With a big smile at his praise, she would look away for a moment to figure out what game she wanted to play, which would break off her quirk.

"One of those bitches? Not really, but I'm in it. I'm not a wannabe, I will be one, and I won't be stuck up or full of myself like others are. That's just a fact." There was confidence in her voice, despite being a little tipsy. Wrapping her arm around his, she would move with him to some of the games that she wanted to do. The first was a water gun one, and she would happily pay for the two of them to do it together. "Okay, whoever loses this one uh... has to say something embarrassing about themselves!" Her hands were ready on the handles and she tried her best to win.

"Well that fact is a relief, too many Heroes these days act lame as fuck." He grinned as he caught someone giving him a look from the corner of his eye, but he paid the guy no mind. It was true anyway. He had met a few interesting Do-Gooders now, but they were still lost in a sea of fellows with shit personalities. Not that he could claim villains to be any different, but you expected it with them.

As they approached the water gun game, Church eyed it for a moment with a wryly smile before stepping up to the gun beside hers and taking hold of the handles. He doubted he would win, guns weren't really his thing, but who cared?

"Deal.~" As the sound went off he pulled the trigger, and missed entirely. Although he corrected it to hit the target and remain on it after some adjustments, he still lost time at the get go. Regardless, he was smiling and unconcerned, seemingly just enjoying the game regardless of their little bet.

"I agree! Some of them are so lame! They're like oh look at my powers, I'm better than you! And in reality, it's all for show." It was a sad fact of being around heroes; they could so easily get hyped up for no good reason. It made her sad to realize that her view of heroes was so jaded, but it wasn't really a bad thing that she saw it like that. As a hero in training, she hoped to be different.

Watching him miss the first little bit of water, she couldn't help but snicker. "You suck bro, that's funny!" Calliope said aloud, but in reality she was really only hitting it half the time. "So do I though, shit!" She didn't care who won in between them; she was just happy to be having fun and feeling the smile on her face. It was nice to feel that she could have fun with something like this, when she knew that little moments like these were sometimes forgotten. She didn't care about who was winning or not, because she was laughing too hard to be properly aiming like she knew she could. "I haven't done this since I was a kid, really!" Doing something like this with a stranger was exciting, because if he chose to judge her, she could just never see him again.

As the game ended, she honestly wasn't sure who won as she was kneeled over rubbing tears of laughter out of her eyes. It seemed that her companion won, and was handed a huge panada stuffy. Looking over to it, Calliope felt like it suited him. "Congrats! That'll look cute for you to keep."

Church chuckled at the humored jab about him sucking, flashing her a smirk as he ignored the impulse to say a rather dirty joke.
"Hey I'm not the Hero~" He pointed out instead, keeping the water on his target better now that he had figured the trajectory out. "Can't be harder than classes surely."

"I haven't either~" In fact, Church had only done this once before in his life. He and Faith had snuck onto the bus to go to a fair in the next town over, and their older brother had followed and caught them red-handed. But, their brother had caved to them and the three had spent a few hours at the fair before going home to face the music. The last time he had played this game, his sister had smoked him.

This time however, he was surprised to find he was the one to win. With a pleased grin he hoisted the panda onto his shoulders and raised an eyebrow towards Calli with a rather sly expression.
"So..~ As the one to loose, what embarrassing thing you got?"

"I'm not one either, not yet!" She would flash a big grin in his direction, but try to make sure she didn't look him in the eyes. "Some things are just not for me man! I can't just sit there and know about the history of heroes and shit... I don't really care that much!" Her aiming would get sloppy, but she wasn't really playing to win.

As Church won, she would pat his shoulder and grab up her own plushie once more. "Good work man, you can give that to whoever I guess, or keep it for yourself. I think mine is a good size to keep in my room as a cuddle buddy." She would hiccup a bit, the alcohol still hitting her pretty hard. "Embarrassing thing? Hm, well... I guess I'm pretty lonely. I don't make friends easily because of my quirk so a lot of nights I cry myself to sleep and hope that the choices I made in life will pay off." She'd say all this with a smile, as if she didn't want to make it a reality by adding her true emotions behind it. "It's hard moving to a new country and having expectations on you that seem so high... I just... I wish I could look at people and be normal, you know?" She would hold onto her plushie, pushing her face into it and closing her eyes for a moment as she walked. "Is that embarrassing enough?"

Church held the legs of his plushie to secure it to his shoulders as he walked, raising an eyebrow and glancing at Calli as she spoke. He supposed it counted as embarrassing so long as it was to her, but the cause rather surprised him.
"What, the dizzy thing?" Church smirked, remembering how the world had tilted when they had met earlier. "Maybe you just surround yourself with too many weaklings, you try raising your standards?"

"I don't see why it's a problem, and I'm weak as fuck so that speaks wonders of those bothered by it." He added, grinning before reaching to poke the side of her plush-buried head.
"But if it bothers you that much, do glasses not work?" It was part suggestion, and also part curiosity. "Something reflective maybe?"

Calli wasn't sure what to say to his words. Maybe he was right, maybe all the people she surrounded herself with were weak. "Hm, I dunno. I guess I just don't know who's a good choice to be my friend." She was still trying to figure that part out, as being in Japan made it so that she had to reset her whole friend circle from scratch.

"Yeah, I have to wear glasses." She would lean closer to him, having their shoulders touch and her plushie push into his. her face stayed buried and she only hoped he was leading her in a good direction. "I guess I just hate that I can't just be normal. I love having a quirk but it's so... In your face?" With a bit of a pout, she wanted to start crying, but stopped as she heard muttering in front of them. Her head would perk up, and a bright light would shine ahead; mixtures of red, orange and yellow would flow around. The thickening of drums would speak to her heart, pounding into her chest.

As she got closer, a beautiful ring of fire could be seen, with men and women alike drumming in a circle. So, this is what the festival was for. When she had stumbled into it, she hadn't really cared to know the reason behind the festival, only that they could get food and play games. Instinctively, she went down and tried to grab onto Church's hand; it wasn't meant to show that she was necessarily interested in him, but perhaps a knee-jerk reaction she had to seeing something so dangerous yet beautiful. Her eyes fixated on the flames and the heat that they brought. "It's... It's gorgeous, don't you think?"

"Heh, being normal is over-rated, If you were normal we wouldn't have met in the first place.~" He pointed out, not that he viewed himself a good thing to meet, but regardless it was still true. "Flaws are what make a person, and you seem like a very interesting person as you are.~"

He was distracted by the sound of drums and people, and followed her quietly as they approached what appeared to be the festival's main event. Fire, drums, people.. Church's eyes flicked here and there as he watched, a little mesmerized by the unusual scene. He had always assumed such things to be lame after reading or hearing about them, but it was strangely different seeing them first-hand.

He gave no resistance when Cali grabbed his hand, aware of it but unbothered by such a small thing. A content grin had appeared on his face as he watched the fire and listened to the drumming, quite enjoying himself despite the low bar he had set on this outing.
"Immensely. I'm not from Japan either, and they didn't have this kind of thing back home.."
