Sometimes, there was a right and a wrong time to go shopping. A lot of the time, Auden would just go whenever he felt like it or whenever he was free to. Being a pro hero, a CEO and just wanting to be alone sometimes left his schedule so constricted. Nonetheless, today was a special outing that he had been looking forward to for a long time. Today, he was going to meet up with Lucille Arbogast after a long time.

Auden had gotten to know Lucille through his friends Lucas and Jeong, two people that he met in the first few years of him being in Japan. They were kind souls who had settled down in a smaller town in Japan to start a family. Though Auden wasn't sure he would get the time to make it out there to see them, he wanted to make sure that he could get them a worthwhile gift.

Auden would wait patiently in the front entrance of the mall, holding onto his purse and making sure that his outfit looked good enough. With his red sunglasses covering his eyes, he would lean up against the wall of the building and doom scroll through fashion trends to see if there was anything that he liked and wanted to try to get inspiration from.

"A lot of bright colors... I can pull that off." He'd cross his legs and keep looking it over. Even when he felt that he couldn't wear something, he tries to pick out new things to expand what he could look good in.

With the holiday season fast approaching Lucille was starting to feel the gift buying rush herself. After having failed to tail and capture Diego in this very same mall she decided to uphold one of her promises, that her and Auden would go shopping together. Imagine her surprise the first time she found out that the famous model who could get on the cover of any fashion magazine was friends with her very own step brother! She could hardly believe it since Lucas and Jeong were such down to earth people. Not that Auden wasn't, he was just very different from what she had initially expected from such a superstar celebrity.

As she walked up to the entrance in her long coat and scarf she made sure to keep an eye out for the most cool and colorful person around. Usually that was a surefire way to locate Auden. Sure enough, it didn't take her long to notice him in his red glasses. ''Hey Auden-san!'' She offered a little wave, making sure that he could hear her without speaking up in case it brought them unwanted attention from any of his fans. Unlike him, she had it a little easier since she was more recognizable in her hero outfit than when she was dressed as a civilian. ''What are you looking at? Scouting for good deals?'' She smiled, putting her hands behind her back as she swayed in place. ''Have you thought about what gifts to buy today? I'm at a complete loss on what to get Jeong!'' She admitted with a little chuckle.

Auden would look up as his name was called, a smile coming onto his face almost instantly. Lucille was very beautiful and it was always a pleasure to have her around. "Heya!" He'd wave and put away his phone as he didn't want to be distracted while he was with her.

"Ah, just looked at what was popular right now. I wasn't sure what to look at store wise... I hoped you'd have a better idea!" As the mention that she wasn't sure about what to get Jeong, he had to take a few seconds to really think about it. "I think maybe something for sure for the kids, but otherwise..." He'd pull up his phone again and show her a photo- it was a custom made hoodie with space for his ears. "I was thinking of making him this, it's almost done, I just need some more fabric to really seal it up nicely!"

Pushing himself off of the wall, he'd move to stand beside Lucille. "I think since they're in the countryside, maybe some Tokyo treats could be good too- I'm sure they're missing some of the local snacks!"

''Is that so? ~ Then I'll have to give it my all!'' She held up a fist, channeling that UAU Plus Ultra upbeat energy she used for work too. ''Absolutely! It's our job to spoil those little ones, I can't wait to check out the toy stores.'' She wasn't a mother herself, but she could absolutely see the appeal of being a parent every time she visited Jeong and Lucas in the countryside. Maybe one day she could start her own little family...

''Hm?'' She blinked her eyes and leaned in a bit to look at what Auden was showing her on his phone. What an adorable hoodie! ''That's so cute! The holes for the ears must feel nice too, that actually gave me a good idea for what to make him. I'll crochet him some gloves, do you mind if I color coordinate them with the hoodie so that they match?''

When Auden joined her she would start walking. ''A gift that says here's a little slice of Tokyo. Nostalgic gifts like that are always a safe bet.'' As they walked up to the first store to check out she looked over at Auden. ''I was thinking of getting Lucas something practical too.''

"Oh really? We can both make something for him then! That'd be a great thing to go for him." He was sure that someone like Jeong would love something that was made by the people he cared about. "I honestly can't believe that the kids have gotten so big... It seems just like yesterday that they had their first." Auden couldn't fathom having kids himself right now, but he was happy for Jeong and Lucas.

"We can for sure color coordinate together, I'd love to do something like that with you." He'd grin happily, knowing that something like that would be extra cute on Jeong. They'd walk, and Auden would think about what type of nostalgic thing would be best for them. "Hm... Practical how? What does a reindeer boy need?" He wasn't sure off the top of his head. Antler trimmers? Was that even a thing? "Maybe something warm? I know he's used to the cold, but it couldn't hurt to make sure they bundled up."

''Right? Homemade gifts are so heartwarming, and they're an Arbogast family stable.'' She had learned how to crochet from their mother, just like Lucas. In fact, everyone in the Arbogast family was skilled in sewing, stitching or crochet of some kind. ''Kids grow up so fast.'' She remembered when they had their first too. Was that the first time she met Auden, when they both came to congratulate the new parents?

''You flatter me!'' She giggled, holding her hands up. ''I should be honored that I'm going to be making something with the fashion icon Auden Verchetty himself!'' It was interesting how Auden was famous, but didn't act like it at all. He felt like one of those people who got famous at a young age, but never let it get to his head. ''You won't believe it, but his number one wish every Christmas growing up was always sweaters.'' She smiled. ''I know he likes beanies for winter, since reindeer shed their antlers this season.'' She looked at a mannequin wearing a beautiful suit in a nearby shop window, her eyes immediately seeing Diego in it, smiling back at her. With a blink of her eyes Diego was gone, replaced by the mannequin again. She felt a bit somber, but didn't want to get her mood down. ''I know he works a lot around the house too! I live in an apartment, so I don't know much about it, but something for yard work, for fixing things?'' She shrugged back at Auden.

"Well then, I'm glad I can keep up the tradition even if I'm not one of you." It was a nice sentiment to think about, at the very least. "Do you think they'll have more?" He'd ask, wondering if they'd stop at having four children. Not that there had to be a limit, but he was still surprised they had that many at all.

"Oh shush it! I'm not that amazing. I may have a lot of things going for me, but that doesn't mean I'm anything super special." Auden didn't want to make it seem that he wasn't famous, but he didn't let it get to his head. "Sweaters? Doesn't surprise me at all. I swear, he'd wear a ton of layers all the time." He would think back to a time that Auden literally had to count on two hands how many he had on.

"Yard work... Like maybe a good part of sheers? Or a rake?" He didn't really know either. "I live in a house, but my front and back lawn doesn't need maintaining like that." He'd hum, before thinking of something. "Maybe... We could get them things to play in the snow with? Like... Toys?" It sounded like a cute idea to do with the kids, after all. "Sweaters, hats and snow toys?" It was a weird combo, but it seemed like something that could be fun.

''Me too! You've been practically family for years now.'' She could imagine Jeong and Lucas's kids growing up to be confused that Auden wasn't actually family since he was such a close friend to their parents. ''More than four kids? I don't think it ever occurred to me to ask!'' She chuckled, ''four kids seem like a lot of work, but I guess we can't know for sure. They're still young after all.''

Humble as always. She couldn't help but laugh with Auden as he downplayed his own achievements. ''That's right! Even waaay before he moved to Japan and started at UAU, he always wore sweaters year round.''

She nodded her head, agreeing with Auden as she crossed her arms. ''That's a wonderful idea. Gifts that are connected, and they do get a lot more snowfall out there than we do here in the city.'' She stopped in front of a store that had a bit of everything and motioned for Auden to follow her. ''How about we check in here first? They sell all sorts of things here, and the deals I saw online looked pretty sweet.'' Her eyes immediately wanted to a kid's clothes section when she saw a row of cute, cozy winter hats. ''For hats, we might need to modify them to make room for ears and antlers.'' Assuming that the kids had mutations as visible as their parents. She held her hands up to her head to mimic a pair of antlers to underscore her point.

"Really?" He would blush at the idea of him being family. "I'm sure they'll call me aunt or uncle at some point, maybe." He'd be fine with that. "That's true... That's what scares me. They'll have an army if we aren't careful!"

Auden would pay to see younger photos of Lucas. "He's always been cute like that, I can see him continuing it now and probably for the rest of his life." He'd follow her to the next store and nod, immediately opening up his eyes more to try to find something that would work well for their growing family. "Right... Well anything that we buy here I can make alterations to, so don't worry too much." He wouldn't want it to be a hassle later on in the future, or for them to not be able to use their gifts. "You'd think there would be more brands that would make clothes for mutations, right? Or alternative fits for it." Maybe that was something he could focus on himself.

''You'd be the cool aunt or uncle for sure, rocking up wearing your sunglasses.'' She teased with a little giggle, but that was the aura he gave off after all. ''A-An army?! You think they'd have that many?'' She could already picture her and Auden getting swarmed by little ones the next time there was a family gathering at their rural, countryside home.

''That's right, this is kind of like, your specialty isn't it?'' She took one of the beanies in her hands to feel the material as she visualized where they would put the holes if they ended up using the design. ''For sure. I'm guessing the world hasn't quite caught up with the fact that quirks are getting more and more common yet, but surely that's an untapped market.'' Clothes specifically for mutation type quirks... Most probably just got stuff custom made, at least that's what she did for her transformation clothes, not that it mattered as much for her since she didn't have any permanent mutations herself.

After a long day of shopping Auden and Lucille would take a quick break and get a drink at a nearby cafe to cap off the day. She had been so busy she hadn't seen Jeong and Lucas all year, so she was excited to spend the Christmas at their place together with Auden.
