On the surface, Kupo seems to be an incredibly open person, easy to read and understand. This assessment isn't entirely inaccurate. Above all, Kupo is two things: curious and compassionate. His curiosity drives him to see everything, consider every point of view, and better himself to be able to see & experience more. His compassion drives him to be always kind & friendly, even in times of stress. To reach out to everyone in need of help and step in to help them, hero or villain. To better himself so that he can save anyone he needs to. The two combine together to give Kupo a polyanna's view of the world, rose-tinted shades firmly on. Nothing & no-one is truly bad, and everything & everyone can be good, is worth caring about and is worth exploring.
In day-to-day life, this conviction manifests less intensely. Kupo is habitually polite and friendly, greeting everyone enthusiastically with his beaming smile and going out of his way to help people with tasks or chores if needed. He tries to be constantly upbeat, though empathetic when others are sad. While this positivity and keenness are appreciated by some, for others it can be smothering or overbearing and Kupo is pretty bad at taking cues about this unless explicitly told (a side effect of his middling Autism Spectrum Disorder). Kupo certainly believes what he says, too. His naive view of the world as one where good will ultimately win out (as long as good people work hard enough) makes him incredibly trusting. Too trusting. It wouldn't take much at all for a suitably sympathetic person to take advantage of Kupo's nature, using even a moment of hesitation to put him in real danger.
Despite his naiveté and lack of experience though, Kupo isn't reckless. He was taught from a young age to analyse situations subconsciously: how can I be of most use? Could I beat this person if I needed to? What's my easiest escape? Because of this, Kupo is also somewhat flighty. While he'll stay to fight if others are in danger, Kupo knows that his mobility is his greatest asset and strength his greatest weakness, so if he sees past his optimism enough to actually sense danger then he'll flee as a first resort, not fight. In a sense, it could be said that this tendency is more stereotypical of foxes than Kupo's overall persona, more typical of a dog as people often confuse him for.

Kupo is certainly an interesting boy to look at. A constantly bright and cheery face that he tries his best to keep up, yet on a body dwarfed by everything around it. He has to look up at everything, and so together with his childlike appearance always looks awestruck or excited. Kupo is a canine mutant, displaying: triangular vulpine ears peeking through his hair (though he also has half-deaf human ears), enlarged canine teeth, a silky fur collar around his neck, fur-covered paw pads on his hands (palms & fingertips) and feet (front of soles), and (most evident of all) a 2' fluffy, bushy fox tail extending from the base of his spine.
Kupo also exhibits some behaviours reminiscent of dogs/foxes (i.e. sleeping curled up, tail wagging when happy/excited, yelping when surprised/in pain, playfully jumping/pouncing on friends, running/moving around quickly to burn excess energy etc.) but he has learned to suppress any more animalistic behaviours/impulses (i.e. certain ways of expressing even platonic affection very physically) due to ever-present stigma around animal mutants.
Kupo is a small ectomorph, being quite lean/lithe with difficultly building up muscle. An exception to this is Kupo's core and legs, which are surprisingly muscular for someone with the physique of a literal child. Kupo always walks with perfect posture, having been trained to do so ever since he could walk, but about half of the time he's instead crouched to fight or jump, making him look even smaller than he already is. The hair on his head is usually short, halfway to his shoulders, and kept down with bangs framing his face and one in the middle, It's just as likely to be a disordered mess of white fluffy hair, depending on the intensity of training and headpats received that day. Kupo also regualarly experiments with different hairstyles, a holdover from growing up with 4 older sisters who were similarly experimental with their own (and Kupo's) appearances. He has wide, round eyes, full of the joy and wonder of a world he will one day be tasked with protecting. With such large, twinkling eyes, people say they may just be the cutest part of him, but Kupo doesn't really see it. Kupo also has a very distinct scar all along the left side of his neck, from a villain attack on his home (and subsequent hostage situation) when he was much younger. He usually tries to cover up the scar with his fur collar and when asked about it, he'll often deflect or say it was an 'accident' when he was little. He also has a tattoo of a sleeping arctic fox along his left forearm, which he got on his 18th birthday.
As far as clothing goes, Kupo's style is intentionally pretty cutesy, often with hairclips in his hair, collar or tail and animal/fandom pins or patches on all his clothes. The types of clothes Kupo wears, besides whenever he gets something tailored for a formal event, are the ones which are easiest to get in his size. These tend to be for much younger children, leading to his childish aesthetic and hence why he leans into it. Dungarees, onesies, kids' show graphic shirts and shorts, all typical garb for Kupo.
Kupo does have one custom article of clothing, though. A navy blue hoodie, big enough to be baggy, with his hero symbol on the front and 'Snow Fox' on the back. The hood has cloth pockets to fit his ears, which have headphone speakers for listening to music or comms. While wearing this, Kupo typically tucks his tail into the extra space at the back, to prevent people grabbing it as he'd often experienced growing up. He also can always be seen wearing a particular device around his wrist, somewhere between a smartwatch and an insulin pump in appearance, connected to a cannula somewhere on his body by plastic tubing. This monitors his body temperature and helps with hyperthermia within a certain temperature range, the details of which I'll explain in the Equipment section.
Due to Kupo's voice, appearance and fashion sense, it's not uncommon for people to confuse Kupo for a girl (especially since he isn't vocal about being male/masculine), and his mannerisms often see people confusing him for a (domestic) dog mutant, rather than a fox as his physiology is closer to.

In early 2082, Jason Riviera was born in England, the product of two Quirkers who found peace in each other despite adversity for both. His father is Nathan Riviera (44), also known as Crystal King, who is currently one of the top Pro Heroes of the UK (and one of the strongest). At the time, he was a police officer by day and vigilante by night. This transition from hidden vigilante to full-fledged Hero was the background to Kupo's early years, culminating in 2090 with the founding of his father's Agency alongside other top heroes: Hearts of Gold.
Kupo's mother is Kali Riviera (née [blank])(45), an animal mutant born around a time with even worse discrimination around that than there is today. She pursued health & social care, and through a lot of hard work, landed a job as a special needs teacher. It was this foundation that enabled her to see her own childrens' unique quirk-based needs, leading to them getting proper medical and social support (including Kupo's medical device & knowledge of sign language) where many mutant children would often go without this support until their later teens at least. Frustration with this led his mother to take action, heading a national charity campaign for better Quirker support by public schools & the NHS, with Kupo as something of a poster boy.
With the family background out of the way, it should be plain to see the conditions which Kupo grew up under, on the shoulders of giants and with history's eyes on them all. He is the youngest of 5 siblings, with 3 older sisters (Natalie, Bea & Katie) and his 'older' twin sister (Maki). While his sisters (except Maki) wanted to join the growing quirker entertainment/fashion industries, the twins had always wanted to be heroes as early as they can remember, and so were intensively trained by their father from a young age to master their quirks, combat and the attitude expected of Heroes: do whatever you can to help, save and protect those in need of it.
While Maki inherited most of her father's Crystal Manipulation quirk, and so had a quirk 'awakening' around 4 years old, Kupo's quirk was more like his mother's (Grey Wolf), and so he had to learn to deal with both its benefits and its drawbacks from birth. This led to a distinct difference in fighting style between the two and Kupo developing his own (Flying Fox Style). This intensive training was sometimes excessive (Kupo being pushed past his limits of both heat and cold multiple times), but it gave the twins a strong work ethic and a great foundation for their heroic education.
Early on, the family's life was pretty standard and lower-middle class bar the occasional scare with vigilantism or local quirker rights protest, but as both parents stepped into the spotlight, things quickly got more and more intense. Kupo found himself making media appearances with his family, becoming more and more recognised as the 'cute small one', and his father attracted more and more of a reputation as a paragon quirker Hero. This all came to a boiling point when Kupo was around 10. A group of anti-quirker extremists had managed to break into the Riviera family home one night while Kupo's father was out on patrol, and subsequently took the rest of the family hostage at knife/gunpoint. Knowing that fighting back with their quirks was illegal at the time, the family surrendered until Crystal King made his way back. At this point, Kupo tried to break free from one of the villain's grips, and was slashed across the neck with a knife (leading to his scar). Crystal King was infuriated by this, and killed the villain in front of his son. The incident was covered up from the public.
Kupo vowed to be stronger that day. Strong enough to prevent another incident. Strong enough to protect people. He trained even harder from that point on, often pushing himself to exhaustion. Kupo also vowed to be more compassionate that day. Kind enough to hear every side before acting. Kind enough to de-escalate a situation. Kind enough to never have to kill anyone as a Hero.
Kupo's training extended into his schooling, studying Quirk Science and Heroics as soon as those avenues became available. His reputation for being small and harmless preceded Kupo there, though, and so Kupo received a lot of grief (even from a lot of the quirkless students) about wanting to be a Hero. His training (and connections) paid off in keeping all of the teasing from becoming physical though, and Kupo finished his A-Levels (high school exams) a term early to try enrolling in UA, one of the world's most prestigious hero academies. Here we find Kupo today, mere days after his 18th birthday and flying to Japan for entrance exams (and, if successful, his ongoing education).

21000/50000 EXP, 5/5 LB
QUIRK NAME: Arctic Fox
QUIRK RANK: A+
QUIRK TYPE: Mutant
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Kupo's Quirk is pretty straightforward. He has mutations which give him some traits typical of the Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus), these features (described in more detail in Kupo's appearance) work together to give Kupo exceptional resistance to cold ambient temperatures, incredibly sensitive hearing and shocking agility for his size.
Not represented mechanically is Kupo's tolerance of the cold (down to about -20°C/-4°F), which does not extend to direct ice or freezing attacks, and so it's mostly aesthetic (little utility in potential combat scenarios). Kupo's sense of smell is also stronger than a quirkless person's, but not by a significant enough margin to be of any use in combat or rescue scenarios yet.
Keen Ears (Replaces Awareness): Kupo's furry, canine ears happen to be very sensitive, picking up on the slightest noise around him and magnifying it 2-5 times (relative to a normal human). He can also hear quite a ways into the (human) ultrasound spectrum, up to about 50 kHz. Much like a dog, Kupo's ears can move precisely to pinpoint a noise, and so within his range he can pretty accurately determine a sound's source, even through barriers (such as 4-5 inches thick snow).
Quick As the Fox (Replaces Speed): A combination of Kupo's small, light frame and powerful legs means that when moving on foot he can accelerate to pretty damn fast speeds. A side effect of this, though, is an odd way of moving at his higher speeds. Something like Froppy, Kupo will jump horizontally along the ground from an all-fours position, rolling upon landing. When travelling below ~10 m/s though, Kupo will typically just run.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: While the three listed below are Kupo's most (mechanically) important drawbacks/weaknesses, his quirk can cause a lot more narrative grief for him too. Both Kupo's animalistic mutations and his small, cute/childlike appearance make (especially quirkless) people unlikely to take hims seriously or consider him an equal, even as the hero hopeful he is. Some people are also repulsed by some of Kupo's more canine behaviours, which could pose a problem with ally/civilian trust during rescues. Additionally, the combination of Kupo's quirk and regular ADHD make Kupo really easily distracted (except when focused due to adrenaline), especially by loud/interesting sounds or other animals/mutants he hasn't seen before.
Soft & Squishy (Restriction): Kupo's tiny body is very easy to damage, both soft enough to break from impact and light enough (17 kg/37 lbs) to literally throw around & grapple with ease (if the attacker is fast enough to grab him). Along with Kupo's juvenile upper-body strength, unimproved by his quirk's unique muscle growth, this means that (without the use of Equipment) his Constitution & effective upper-body Strength ranks can't really ever rise above D-Tier (his Strength attribute as listed only applying to his lower body/core).
Too Loud! (Counter): The drawback of Kupo's sensitive hearing is that, as a mutant, he can't turn it off. Kupo constantly hears noises louder, and hears the drone of all the ultrasound devices used in modern life (from literal dog whistles to noise generators for repelling animals or anti-loitering systems). It doesn't take much to overwhelm Kupo's senses, and keen enemies could notice this and use loud or high-pitched noises to essentially disable Kupo's main sense along with sending him into a meltdown if it continues for long enough.
Overheating (Counter): With a body built for producing and retaining body heat in extremes of cold, with a naturally high core temperature, Kupo is unsurprisingly very bad at cooling down when he needs to. In sufficiently-high ambient temperatures (above ~15°C/59°F without his support device and above ~20°C/68°F with the device), Kupo experiences dangerous hyperthermia/heatstroke symptoms faster than most. He's liable to experience nausea, dizziness, confusion, passing out and even permanent damage if he doesn't cool himself down.

[attr="class","header2"]ATTRIBUTES
» AWARENESS (D+) While Kupo's Quirk makes him very perceptive and sensitive, picking up on the smallest details, suppressing his Quirk would massively throw him off. | » VITALITY(C-) Kupo is full of energy, able to keep pouncing and dodging longer than most. The high stamina cost of his exlosive movement style doesn't help, though. |
» DURABILITY (D-) Kupo's body is very small, light and soft, making taking blows his weakest link. If Kupo can't get out of the way, one solid hit or grapple could be his end. | » SPEED (C) Even without the 3D mobility and speed granted by his Quirk, Kupo has trained extensively to improve his athletic performance as much as possible. |
» DEXTERITY (C+) Kupo's main boon is nimbleness, and this extends to his coordination, too. While his arms may be weak, he can make up this difference with precision. | » STRENGTH (C-) His upper body may be weak, but Kupo's core & legs are suprisingly strong for his small frame, delivering devastating kicks among other things. |

EQUIPMENT NAME: ThermoSafe Band™
EQUIPMENT RANK: D
EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER: Unique Variant Solutions Ltd.®
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: A dark grey band worn around Kupo's wrist connected by a black translucent tube to a square gauze patch covering a cannula on his forearm. On the main face of the band, there is a small digital displaying Kupo's core body temperature and the status of both him and the device. On the back, there is a covered slot for a vial of medication to be screwed in to the device.
The main function of the ThermoSafe Band™ is to monitor the body temperature of those with Quirks that cause complications with thermoregulation, dispensing hormone medication which causes vasoconstriction, shivering, increased metabolic rate etc. or vasodilation, sweating, decreased metabolic rate etc. to warm up or cool down the body respectively.
As long as it is supplied with medication (~every 8 hours normally, more frequently on very hot/active days), this device increases the 'danger threshold' of Kupo's Quirk from ~15°C/59°F to ~20°C/68°F with regards to increased hyperthermia symptoms.

SKILL NAME: Flying Fox (Fighting Style)
SKILL RANK: B
SKILL DESCRIPTION: Kupo, due to his unique strengths & weaknesses, has had to develop his own style of fighting to stand much of a chance against other quirked (or even quirkless) opponents. Flying Fox Style has its inspirations in 'Lucha Libre'/high-flyer wrestling styles, kickboxing styles such as Savate & Taekwondo and even football (soccer), adapted to decrease use of upper-body strikes. The main tenet of the style is that outmaneuvring the opponent is always preferable to fighting face-to-face and that dodging or deflecting strikes is always preferable to blocking them. This emphasis on reducing potential for direct harm helps combat Kupo's lack of durability in combat and encourages use of his 3D mobility to the fullest instead.
SKILL NAME: Parkour, Poise & Pouncing! (Acrobatics)
SKILL RANK: C
SKILL DESCRIPTION: As mentioned, Kupo's body is seemingly honed specifically for jumping/pouncing, and so he has extensively trained to make the most of this mobility in a 3D urban or forested environment via successive jumps, parkour & acrobatics. He is well-acquainted with the muscle memory of these movements, but right now his knowledge of technique is still catching up to his Quirk's instincts, and a better-trained acrobat could outperform him.
