| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Tokyo Bay, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Let's go to the beach, beach~! Now Playing: Shady Cicada - Lay 'Em Out "Am I?" The upperclassman had been caught off-balance, quite literally if the reflexive grounding with the third arm was any indication. He got it wrong. Kupo frowned, though invisible to Kei ahead of him. Apologies would have to wait, though.
Having already warmed up, some mixture of rightful confidence and quickly-diminishing hubris told Kupo he was ready for this exercise to accelerate. Slight turn, moving to ready. Hand to the ground! Alarm bells, 15 years of experience with earthbenders had taught him to stay off the floor. But didn't Kei have a water Quirk? Sensory, then? Both boys' pulses quickened, a rhythmic feedback loop that excited the hunting instinct he kept way in the back. The frown became a grin, unlike his practiced smile. 'Let's go!' The sudden rush of water was met with a yelp.
Once, he dashed to the right. An anomaly. They followed. Two steps. He circled to Kei's front. Outpacing? No. Hop, step, jump! Three is a pattern. Noise to his left, water closing in. Confined. Pupils dilate, catch up with the sound! A second to breath, grounded at the boundary. A second to make a choice. Option 1: Aggressive. Rush forward, kick off Kei's stable knee or shoulder, force him to divert the attack or else hit himself. Most effective, it came naturally, but... it'd be a lot of force if he misjudged it. What if he hurt Kei?! Risky, too. Puts him in striking range. Option 2: Defensive. Stand your ground, kite the water to take glancing blows, maneuver to near-miss the quarms. Riskier, and less effective, but it'd be better pacing. Stall the danger to recover stamina. No. The water counts as a tag, right? That's not allowed.'They're coming, decide!' Option 3: Desperate. Jump! Use the full space, every airborne object, and your reaction time to juke & outrun. Find the safe spot, or else find a lapse in concentration. Step it up!
Kupo makes his choice. A sharp bound up-and-right. Then down, off the closest of the water jets. They have to stay high or they'll leave blindspots. Striking arms need to change direction or wrap around. Ground contact, lock-on. Knees bent, shift weight, redirect. Break contact, over Kei's crouched head. Faster, less contact, more explosive! Fast breathing sounds out, shallow but heavy. Panting. No sweat, but hot breath as the mouth passes by. The number ticks up.
This is unsustainable. Kei Hada

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Home, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: rest day, might stream later w/ guests :3 Now Playing: AToby Fox - Snowy Quiet. The soft crescendo of a yawn, multiplied before the blanket of warm silence falls once again. White mixed with cream and yellow. Purple, black and red met in their own corner. Kupo sat in the lap of the elder Orion cousin, Yuma. Their natural pillows prompt a closed smile and something like a faint purring, more felt than heard. Dulled expression. Something at his back tried to signal this feeling, but was blocked by the embrace. Muted clicking of gamepad keys resounded throughout the bedroom. Through an open window, slow sunday traffic passed distantly and kids with high aspirations mimicked heroics they couldn't fully understand. Silken strawberry dissolved inside. Outside, subtle aromatics cut against the scent of well-washed fur.
Suddenly, the quiet stopped. Kupo covered his ears, whining at the unwelcome yelling from elsewhere in the house. The enchanted vibe broke. Ears twitched in search of something. "I'm gonna go see what's wrong." A childish mumble arose in harmony. The first instance of the smaller fox's voice in 2 hours. He stood, stretching with a sigh. Without drawing attention, the light footfalls on carpet would've been no disturbance to the Orions, but instead synchronised with the shattered peace. Downstairs, the deliberate steps increased in volume, now audible above the talking ahead. 'They don't like it when you sneak up on them. Remember?' Dressed in a chocolate-coloured onesie, the Snow Fox now stood in the doorway. The high tones briefly lacked their typical vibrance, then were corrected. "Are you okay, Kenta-san?" He processed the words that had been exchanged. Pieced together what the problem was. Wide eyes turned to the other speaker. "Hi to you too, Mizuno-san!"
Problems with digital footprint, huh? He could definitely relate, and from what he'd heard along the grapevine, so could Ikki. The advice the speedster gave was a little crude, but Kupo nodded along enthusiastically. "I agree! You can be super thorough, like a sniffer dog, but you'll never get every copy of your video offline. You're playing Whack-a-Mole with otakus who have way more time for this than you~" Jason's tail moved only with his body, betraying the verity of the smile. He'd had to deal with hundreds of terminally online 'fans', and once they had something... "They'll never let it go, not until they get bored of it! Either way, have you addressed what happened properly? If you own up to it, you can talk on your terms, and they'll get bored when they can't get to you any more! A video, a post, really anything works~" That was it. He had the business mind to know that Ikki's proposed solution wasn't wrong. It just needed completing.
Speaking of, he clocked the other speaker. Ikki hadn't been here long, but that outfit was distinctive. Vanilla & chestnut struck a chord on Kupo's sharp senses. He sniffed the air once in the runner's direction. "Oh! You smell nice, Mizuno-san! Good luck on your patrol, stay safe!" He poked out his tongue, a giggle punctuating the message. A non-verbal tone indicator. He'd considered adding 'be careful', but no. If Ikki was the type of hero his attitude suggested, that wouldn't resonate. They didn't know eachother like that. Not yet.
tl;dr - quiet day Jack Orion Yuma Orion- loud moment - what's all this, then? Muruyama Kenta- i concur ikki mizuno

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Tokyo Bay, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Let's go to the beach, beach~! Now Playing: Aaron Smith, Krono - Dancin So far, so good! Kei's comment sparked some confusion though, Kupo's head tilting to the side briefly. "That's silly, why would I lie?" Just a moment of expression before he had to get back into evasive mode. Right side both latent, top-left sweeping back up, bottom-left jab. He's anticipating a jump? Eyes focused on my head if he hasn't dropped the conversational habit. Kupo's ears twitched, taking in the information before his eyes would get the chance to. While he didn't figure himself a combat hero, his familiarity with combat strategy was certainly up to snuff. He had years of sparring and combat training at home to thank for that.
Taking advantage of the height differential between the two, Jason tried to duck right out of Kei's line of sight. He avoided the sweeping quarm with a back handspring, body arcing just over it. He landed in a low crouch, still mostly centered in front of Kei. Closer to the boundary than he'd like, though. As Kupo landed, the conversation that accompanied this exercise was being processed in the back of his mind. What had Kei meant? While it could easily be chalked up to lightening the mood, that didn't line up with his demeanour. Had Kei been holding back to start? In a quick burst, Jason hopped forward and up onto the quarm extended for a straight jab. Right up in the upperclassman's face. "Are you going easy on me, Hada-senpai?" It took all the discipline he could spare to not fully pout, or do something else weird with their faces close together.
Letting the question hang for a half-second to gauge reaction time, Kupo then rolled forward over Kei's right shoulder (his left) to a position behind. Ideally, there'd be a reprieve while the left two were extended in front, and it'd be harder for Kei to precisely aim in his blind spot. Surely this was where there'd be some kind of trick? He continued the thought, trying to keep his tone friendly. "I know I look like a kid, but I'm in the hero course! I can take it!" A hint of desperation slipped past his filter.

There's a lot of things in life that you take for granted. Water is bland until you find yourself in the desert. Any food tastes like a gourmet meal when you've been starving. And breathing? You only realise how good breathing feels once you're gasping for air or choking on smoke. Contrary to popular belief, the smoke is the deadliest part of a fire, which is why it's so important to stay low. Staggered steps on shaking legs carried Kupo out of the 'coffee shop', dropping the dummy civilian and collapsing about 10 steps past the threshold. Not as far the protocol he'd learned would deem 'safe', but as far as Kupo could make it. Heavy breathing, akin to panting, could be heard. Alas, of all things to complain about, it wasn't much quieter outside. Hearing something that wasn't his name but might as well be, he realised he was being addressed. "Nope, not dead~" he squeaked, transitioning from a 'fell over and ate shit' position to actually sitting up to face his teacher.
There was a giggle at the suggestion that he simply 'stop' being dead in that scenario, but supposed that wasn't impossible given what Quirks could do. Maybe, in a more sound state, Jason would've been concerned that his potential death posed more of an annoyance to Lone Wolf than a concern, but right now he was just happy to be alive and out of that building. The summer midday air wasn't cool in any respect, but compared to actual fire it felt great... for a moment at least before the beeping protest of Jason's medical device woke him up a bit. Idly, he reached into his tail fluff and was glad to find at least one vial intact. "4/5... but I don' really think that's what you were testing me on, right? I could've been a lot quicker, spent less time in danger myself focusin' on the injured ones, should call for backup first of anythink... how would you deal with a rescue like that?" Without much consideration, Kupo posed the question to Lone Wolf. While talking, he'd been refilling his device. It was important to check for motor control and mental clarity after potential heatstroke, keep himself thinking and fidgeting. And hey, he wasn't throwing up, so that was a good sign.
Getting to his feet after a minute or so, Kupo was noticeably off-balance, but managed to go a few paces back-and-forth before looking around for something. "Where... there it is!" Retrieving his bag, Kupo pulled out a sports bottle decorated with star stickers and drank from it. Back to sitting cross-legged, now further from the building, it wasn't hard to see the swaying tail despite his obvious rough condition. As it dawned on Jason that there was likely nothing more to this training exercise than that test, he wracked his brain looking for more. For some additional 'twist' or lesson that he'd missed. Had he... been set up to fail? Surely not, right? Hopping up as quickly as he'd sat down, Kupo moved to exit the USJ. "I'm gonna go see the nurse now, see you later Mr. Lone Wolf!" lonewolf

While Jason was certainly happy-go-lucky, one thing he wasn't is socially unaware. Acutely conscious that he was a step away from being laughed at, his smile briefly cracked with ears flattened against his hair. catching this in a few seconds though, Kupo tried put his brave face back on. At Zaya's agreement to walk home with him, Jason's mood definitely lifted. "Oh, yay! It's not far, only a couple blocks from campus. Noblebright House! Should be time to rest while we work on that homework~" He began to walk with Zaya out of the building and off-campus, skipping to keep up with her due to his shorter stride length and tail even more active than it had been earlier. While Jason was used to animal jokes, somehow Zaya's highlighting of "teacher's pet" didn't register with him. The comment instead earned an oblivious smile with the foxboy's head cocked to the side.
The next topic was one he absolutely got, however. He listened attentively to Zaya's perspective before taking a couple seconds to gather his own thoughts. "A hero prep school? Nah, we only have a few of those in the UK and my mum really didn't want us going to private school. My senior school had Heroics courses, though! It was way less formal than hero prep. More about hero law, PE, and quirk science than full practical work & training." He paused for a bit, processing the second half of Zaya's question. "Oh, I did a lot of training with my dad, too! Me and my twin sister both want to be heroes, so we train together. My cousin joined us a lot, too. He's a student here, actually..." While he'd let Zaya speak, Kupo was deep in a special interest, so most of the walk was filled with his vibrant rambling.

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Tokyo Bay, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Let's go to the beach, beach~! Now Playing: Toby Fox - Death By Glamour As Kei outlined the parameters of the exercise, Kupo merely nodded and make some kind of affirmation noise. He was too focused to know what fox noise came out from the attempt, but hopefully the intent was clear. In the seconds before Kei began his 'countdown', Kupo kicked off his flip-flops to put them outside the circle. The sand was hot, yes, but that was preferable to loose shoes messing with his sensitivity and potentially coming off mid-fight anyway. The first clue Jason got was that Kei's Quarms drew the arena circle, so clearly the full area was within his reach without him needing to move. Ranging wouldn't be an option, that was expected.
The second clue was the noise of the arm moving towards him, heard with twitching ears before Kei skipped a number. Front, left. Kupo knew he could move faster than the arms could in short range, faster than Kei could immediately react to. That meant he could, and had to, pace himself. Kupo bounded forward, dodging the side-swipe and closing the distance slightly. One behind, crossing to his right. Three ahead, 2 right and 1 left. If he could get the arms to block eachother or cross paths, that'd be great. Stay in front, stay grounded. Another noise, this one of excitement. "brrrii~!"
notes: - 'combat' initiated, so shorter posts from me to keep good pacing - Kei Hada

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Somewhere in the forest, Japan. | Current Status: Out on a nature walk! Now Playing: half•alive - creature Terror is often worse than horror. The creeping apprehension in anticipation of pain, one might say, is painful in its own way. As time seems to stretch on forever, the shape that parted the treeline got closer and closer with each steady step. Jason took this time to prepare himself. To steel his resolve and decide what to say. As King broke through into his line of sight once more, the urge to run was almost overwhelming. Almost. He overpowered this impulse, breathing in... and out. It was certainly an interesting sight to watch King sit down, but not the most pressing matter on his mind.
As he spoke, Kupo's fear began to dissolve into concern. How long had it been since this person had last spoken? Since they'd last had human interaction? Kupo waited for King to finish speaking, processing what he'd said. He wasn't technically a child, but Kupo guessed that compared to this person, he was probably an infant. No, instead Kupo focused on the real question. "The forest is beautiful, and quiet. I come here to calm myself-" he stifled a giggle at the irony of that statement, quickly continuing, "-calm myself down, because big cities are noisy and crowded. I don't like noise, or crowds. Normally the only animals I see here are birds, squirrels or tanuki. A couple have had Quirks, but none were as big as you. Or the bear." He paused, an air gap to let King process what he'd said.
A warm smile graced Kupo's face, slowly returning to his normal expression. "Thank you for your concern, though. It made me feel better, or at least not as scared. Do you normally see other people here, ever?" Another dawning emotion had returned to him now. Curiosity. His tail swayed back and forth under his perch, betraying more than his words did about his lowered guard.

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Tokyo Bay, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Let's go to the beach, beach~! Now Playing: OneRepublic - Counting Stars As Jason kept his eyes trained on his upperclassman, it wasn't hard to notice Kei's focus broken by the alert from his wristband. Oh, he'd almost forgotten! It was no good bringing someone to train with him if they didn't know what to do in an emergency- "Oh, oh, Hada-senpai! I need to show you something. It's super important!" Kupo walked a few steps closer to Kei in the circle, giving a complete non-sequitur to his question. He held up his left wrist, like a kid showing their parents a cool rock they found. "So, you know how I call my Quirk Arctic Fox? I'm really good at doing stuff in the cold, but one of my... umm..." he wracks his brain searching for the right word in Japanese, "hard things is that I'm really weak in hot places. I overheat quicker than other people, cause I can't sweat to cool off and my body is too good at staying warm. So I have this medical device!" He beams, seeming excited to talk about Quirk science more than anything. "It takes my temperature all the time, and when I get too hot, it gives me medicine to help cool down. When I'm training in the summer, unless I'm inside at home, I train with someone else so they can help if anything goes wrong. That's why I invited you today, but I should be okay. I have a lot of spare medicine, and-"
Another beep! interrupted him, this time signalling that the device was about to run dry. "Quand on parle du loup! I need to refill the meds, so I can show you how to do it!" He spent the next 20 seconds or so closing his cannula, turning off the device, switching out the glass vial screwed in at the back, and then reversing the process. "There we go~!" Jason began stretching, tongue poking out as he did, then faced Kei again. His eyes filled with remorse. "Oh, you asked me a question right? Sorry, sorry, that was rude of me! Ummm... I think dodging is one of my strengths, yeah! Always room to improve, though." Humility was a shared vice between the two boys, with Jason quite understating his prowess. In reaction speed and evasiveness, he was second-to-none in his class, if not all of first year.
Ever-perceptive, Jason's expressive eyes and empathetic heart were nearly as keen as his perky ears. Everything, from Kei's tone to his laughter to his body language, suggested anxiety or discomfort. Why was he so nervous? Jason could understand the apprehension from being at the seaside so soon after the flooding, but that didn't seem like all of it? Oh no, I hope I'm not making him uncomfy! Is it something I'm doing, maybe? I need to be careful with dog stuff getting through, there's too many people here. He'd passed the insight check, but chose not to say anything yet. Either way, the only emotion shining through now was more excitement. Were they gonna start with a dodging exercise? That'd be so fun! More than his face, the tail moving at a mile per minute behind Kupo gave the game away. He took a 'ready' stance, slightly crouched to ready that explosive action potential in his legs.

Now Playing: Derivakat - Blue "It's fine, Ina- Zaya-san (sorry), at least you weren't petting me without asking, or anything." Although there was a smile, there was no joking tone to that statement of forgiveness. Kupo listened as Zaya described how she and the other boy knew each other, and through context clues managed to piece something together. "Oh, you're a legacy hero too! Crystal King's my dad, I don't think many people here would know him, but back home, he's pretty popular... I get the vibe you don't really wanna talk about that, though. Sorry~" He promptly shut up about the topic, making a ':p' face. Even the semi-whisper that Zaya spoke in earlier could not escape his ears, and Jason connected another pair of dots about who she 'didn't want to associate with'.
Luckily, there was another topic to move right on to. Zaya immediately outed herself as a slacker, but lucky for her, Kupo didn't really care. He very much cared about his own academic integrity, but how other people passed their classes was none of his business. He just really liked helping people out. "Nice to meet you too, Zaya-san! I'm a bit of a teachers' pet honestly, so I'd be happy to help! Let me just get my..." the fox boy's words trailed off, as he got something out of his backpack and held it up. It was a tablet, and much to Jason's dismay, it wouldn't turn on. He started the next sentence with an exclamation in English. "...oh sugarlumps, my tablet's dead! Umm, umm... I guess that won't work then? We could go to the library, or the IT lab, or... maybe to my computer? My place isn't far from campus if you wanna take a walk." He seemed more excited for the prospect of a walk than anything, wagging tail and smile saying more than he did. "Totally understand if you'd rather do it here, though! We should probably find somewhere to sit down, either way."

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: There's always higher to climb! Now Playing: Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us Awareness: A+ | Speed: A+ | Fighting Style: B | Dexterity: C+ | Acrobatics: C | Vitality: C- | Strength: C- | Durability: D- As Leo's Quirk expanded outwards from him, cutting Kupo off, the young hero quickly stopped talking. It's clear this guy didn't wanna talk, clear that he was taking this just as seriously. Finally. As the wave of darkness swept past and around him, removing all light, Jason just took a deep breath. Step 1: Don't panic. Nobody is all-powerful, none without weakness. If he let himself be overwhelmed by an enemy's power, he'd lose before the fight began. Instead, Kupo honed in on his other senses. Spring green eyes did not see, but they shone through the darkness with that same twinkle as in daylight. No matter what, he was gonna keep fighting today. Otherwise, what had he even come out here for? To give up? This was the only way to truly get stronger: an opponent in a league of his own.
The landscape seemed lost in the infinite darkness, but was that really the case? Was his advantage really lost? Jason decided to debut a technique he'd been working on for a while. Initially, there was a high-pitched whining noise that could be misconstrued as the fear of a dog. This would quickly increase in frequency until it became hypersonic. A pulse of noise, too high for Leo to hear, rose from Kupo's throat and reverberated throughout the dome of dark matter. From each surface and detail, Kupo heard the staggered echoes and roughly built out a map of the space in his mind's eye. Bright eyes closed, blending in with the darkness that wrapped his form. Sure enough, in a second or two, he'd confirmed his suspicions. The dark matter obscured the urban playground around them, but did not delete it. With careful maneuvering, Kupo could still use his superior 3-dimensional mobility to somewhat level the playing field.
Of course, Kupo knew that Leo had the massive advantage of range, and fine control of their environment. He couldn't just rush in wildly, that only worked for people like Jack, able to over-power a tactical advantage with raw strength. Kupo hopped on his feet, testing the resistance of the floor to his motion and adjusting accordingly. His max vertical and leap were overkill for most navigation, so there was more than enough power to move freely here. He bounced back-and-forth within a small area, limiting the time he was in contact with the Quirk's substance, even with his usual fighting posture of standing on the front of his feet. He'd heard from Jack that Leo was fast, and smart, making great use of his strong and technical Quirk. He'd have to be reactive until he saw Leo's capabilities for himself. He waited, ready and alert to react to whatever Little Devil was about to throw at him as (he presumed) an early 'killing blow'. The only reply Leo received would be an excited yip, as Snow Fox took his own fluid stance.
Staring into the abyss without fear, the quick white fox jumps into action! With the will to live, fight start!

Now Playing: Shady Cicada - Breaking Point As soon as he'd clocked that the upper floor was now free of anyone needing rescuing, Kupo made his way back to the top of the stairs. Seeing that they were already engulfed in flame, the small boy made a pinpoint jump down to a spot on the lower floor. As he fell, the wave of heat assaulted his body. Now in the café area, the temperature was already past a point where his medication could no longer help. He was way too hot. There was pain now, beyond the prior discomfort. Nausea and dizziness.
Still, he couldn't give up yet. His mind fixated on the heroic drive that spurred him to action in the first place. There are no other heroes here to help these people, only you. Are you gonna let them down, you little kid? Are you gonna fail, pup? No. The reality that this scenario was fake slipped his mind, bordering on confusion. One bounding step at a time, he rushed to the civilian by the window, bringing them to the door.
Kupo hadn't even been in the building for more than about a minute collectively, ignoring the time spent navigating between rooms outside. Still, his rapidly worsening state could be seen on any cameras throughout the café. It could be seen clearer, as he exited it. The fox boy dropped to the ground, rolling this 'civilian' to extinguish any flames. He almost vomited, barely preventing this with a hand over his mouth and some deep breaths. God, the cooler outside air felt so good. Jason took a moment to catch his breath and cool off (as much as he could), before heading straight back in.
The couple in the back would've been next, had a wooden object not snagged his tail as he passed, briefly transferring the fire to the fluff before Kupo put himself out. This sharply snapped Kupo's attention out of the trance-like state he'd seemed to enter. 'This is fire, what am I doing?! I can't be here!!!' He realised quickly that if he wasn't more careful, he could become another casualty of this fire. Self-preservation now snatching the reins from blind heroism, Jason assessed the situation. He couldn't carry 2 of the dummies quickly, in his state. But he'd seen another one, down behind the counter, as he was clearing the stairs. An injured civilian? He needed to save them first. If this were real, surely the able-bodied ones could get themselves out the door?
Losing this clearness of thought to the heat haze, Kupo acted before he had any more time to think. He vaulted the counter, propping up the fallen dummy over his shoulders. He needed to get out. Escape, right now. He didn't have much more time before the fire consumed him. Oh, he knew it wanted to. 17 kg of fluff and naivety, perfect fuel. He began to make his way to the door.
Notes: I plan next post to be dealing with whatever last complication there may be, then Kupo getting out and collapsing. Whether you wanna end it there with Mark's reaction, or skip forward to a conversation between the two once safe, can be discussed :)

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: There's always higher to climb! Now Playing: Lemon Demon - Eighth Wonder 'I have to get stronger.' This thought had been repeating in Kupo's head for years, burrowed in his mind since he could remember. Lately, in the few months since he'd started at UAU, it had gotten louder. All of his peers were so strong, almost all of them more geared towards combat than he was. Even having trained with his father and sister since he was small (mostly combat training), he was still outmatched. Of course, he wanted to be a rescue hero, but that was no excuse to be a subpar fighter. No excuse to give up or stop focusing on it. He could train his martial arts technique and (limited) strength as much as he wanted, keep challenging other students that he thought were on his level, but that was slow. Inefficient. Cowardly. The fastest way to improve was to fight people stronger than you, let them show you where your weaknesses lie and then target them. It meant he was far more likely to get hurt, of course. More likely to push himself too hard or exhaust himself. Kupo had done both, before. He entirely dedicated himself to his training.
So, when Jack had come home ranting and raving about another strong emitter student, Kupo's interest was piqued. He'd sent this 'Kaiser' an email via their university accounts, sometime in the past week.
Another hero, requesting help! from: riviera.jason.2100@uau.ac.jp, to: vonkaiser.leo.2100@uau.ac.jp Hi, Kaiser-san! I'm Jason, another first year hero-student. My cousin (Jack Orion, I think you met him?) said you were really strong, so I was wondering if you could help me with some combat training? I'd really really appreciate if you could please meet me at [exact location] in Ground Beta at 6am on Friday. Thanks in advance! If you have any questions, or don't wanna meet up, please email back! Sincerely, Jason Riviera. Then, he went to sleep at his usual early hour.
On Friday morning, a little over an hour before the scheduled meeting, he'd woken up to the annoyingly early dawn of summer. Kupo took a shower, got dressed in his PE uniform, had breakfast, and brushed his teeth, before heading off towards the now-open Ground Beta. When Leo arrived at the meeting point, he'd find Kupo standing across an empty city crossroads from him. They were in a more built-up area of the grounds, false skyscrapers rising all around and providing areas of both cooling shade and intense light focused almost like a magnifying glass. Kupo stood on the edge of the former. Streetlights, though turned off at the moment, stood along each of the roads leading away from them into different parts of the 'city'. The air wasn't cold, but had not yet warmed up to the summer day's heights.
Kupo was dressed in uniform, as stated, with the only notable exception being the medical device around his left wrist (attached to his forearm). He'd just done an aerobic warmup (evident by his light panting) and was now stretching as the other approached. He quickly hopped up to a proper posture, waving. "Hi! Thanks so much for coming, Kaiser-san! I hope the area I picked is alright, I thought this would be pretty boring for you and pretty short for me unless I gave myself a little terrain advantage, so now this can be worthwhile for both of us!" He finished stretching, then took a ready stance. "I, Snow Fox, challenge you, Little Devil, to a duel! Please, don't hold back!" His last sentence was not just a request, it was a plea. So many people saw the childlike form of Kupo in front of them, and went easy on him out of pity. It was clear by his tone of voice that Kupo was deadly serious about this.

He wasn't sure how Gen had managed to get there quick enough to push past Kupo on his way to his spot above the stage, but the initial comment rolled off his back. He wished he could say the same for the performance. From even the first act of this show of force, Kupo was immediately on edge. The hackles of his fur collar stood on end, though intimidating no-one. See, while the star of his Quirk was his sensitive ears, Kupo's other senses were still exceptional. Night vision was essential to a creature of this arctic, and his olfactory senses (scent and taste) were at least sharper than average. The darkness, with even-darker shadows dancing about within it. The booming voice, humming of insects, hundreds of footsteps, the music; it all pounded in his ears. It was too much, too loud! The gasoline, solvent-like smell almost intoxicating. It made him want to vomit. Every sensory neurone screamed with either too much stimulus or not enough. It was hell, fittingly enough. Too much, Too Much, TOO MUCH! He could barely even make out what Gen was saying over the cacophony. Just barely make out the declaration of overwhelming force, of true evil, so that his conscious brain was screaming too. How unfair it was, that something could so completely overwhelm him and that that power belonged to a malevolent force.
'just shutup, stopit, stop it, Stop it, Stop It, STOP IT, STOPIT STOPIT STOPIT STOPIT STOPIT STOP STOP STOP PLEASE ST-AAAAAAAAAAAA!'
He was stopping himself from screaming out loud. He was willing his body to move and not to curl into a ball forever. There was no willpower left for anything else. Backstage, his bag! His bag had his comforter. His bag was safe. Where was his bag, where was it, where was it?! He dropped from his high place to the floor behind the stage, rushing through the area as fast as he could. There were people back here, stagehands and helpers. There was fear in their eyes too, but also concern. Pity. Too many people, too crowded. DON'T TOUCH ME STOP IT!!! Then, he found it. Brown and cream, a kid's backpack in the shape of a fictional fluffy creature he found cute. Inside, a plush toy of the same creature. Nothing else inside mattered right now. Kupo curled up in his small, private corner of the universe for what felt like forever. The noise couldn't touch him here, the people wouldn't dare. They'd better not dare to invade his safe place. Slowly, step-by-step, he ran through a checklist in his mind. 5 senses wouldn't work here, there was too much to notice, he'd be overwhelmed if he started listening again. Positive affirmations it was, then. 'I am safe, I am not in danger, I am awake.' He repeated this under his breath, over and over again, in a language he was sure nobody else here spoke. "Me so heki, me ni so fekenda, me so riya. Me so heki, me ni so fekenda, me so riya. Me so heki, me ni so fekenda, me so riya." He repeated it until he could feel his heartbeat slowing back to normal, feel the deep breaths he was forcing himself to take. In... and out. Another thought, the first in a short while that was made consciously, crossed his mind. 'Sorry, Zipper, I don't think I'll be able to-' Huh?
He was snapped out of the cocoon that he'd retreated to, within his own mind. As Zipper spoke, he became suddenly very aware of where he was. What he was supposed to be doing. As he looked up, though Kupo immediately tried to force a warm smile, it was evident from his posture and the tear marks on his face that he'd not been having the greatest time, to say the least. She's bowing to him. Apologising? For what? He paused, then stood up and bowed in kind. "Ah, Zipper-san, sorry for going missing like that..." Another small stretch of silence, before standing up straight and taking an energetic stance. "Yeah, as ready as I'll ever be, I think. Allons-y, let's go."
He'd asked the support department to set up some suspended rocks and/or platforms (a few meters above the stage) and a device resembling a t-shirt cannon just behind the curtain. He was wearing his hero outfit, with a bell (like one you'd find on a cat's collar) embedded via clip into the fur around his neck. When given the go-ahead, Kupo rushed out onto the stage, taking only one step on the ground before leaping up to make contact with the first 'floating' platform. He then kicked off to the next platform, and the next, pouncing between them with speed that made it pretty hard to track him visually. There was almost no sound as he moved with light touches, save for the bell jingling at each impact, until he reached the furthest-forward (and highest) platform. From that, Kupo leaped straight up into a double layout backflip.
At the apex of the jump, something was launched out from backstage, and Kupo caught it in his arms (knees up and tail curled around it). Landing safely in a roll, the object was revealed to be a real-looking doll of an infant. "I believe the role of a hero is to save lives, first and foremost!" Laying the doll down, it descended into the stage. "I'm the Search & Rescue Hero, Snow Fox, here to help as many people as I can!" A couple seconds later a football (soccer ball) rose in its place. Kupo skillfully flicked it up into the air, briefly demonstrating his dexterity and coordination with a few keepy-uppy tricks. "With focus, perseverance, and-" perfectly placed up in front of him, Kupo jumps and kicks the ball as hard as he can, sending it flying over the audience's heads to land somewhere behind them in the USJ, "-strength! I hope to change the world through acts of heroism & kindness, with compassion for all as my guiding principle!"
Kupo lands softly, taking a quick bow. Looking over to find Gen in the crowd, he pipes up once more. "I didn't get to say this earlier, but great performance, Gen-senpai! Your constructive criticism could use some work, though. Critique, done well, can help people improve!" With no further comments, he walks backstage. As soon as he's behind the curtain, he breathes a deep sigh of relief. To anyone observing, it's only clear after he relaxes that he's trembling. It'd look like he was shivering, if it was at all cold enough for that. Panting, too, the burst of athletic activity having warmed his body significantly and the meltdown on top of it all having nearly exhausted him.
tl;dr - Sheer Heart Panic Attack - Calming down a little backstage, trying his best to be brave. ( Zipper ) - Okay...sh-...showtime! - Backhanded paying of respects ( Kurokami Gen ), then cooling down.
