Jason Riviera had always been pretty good at public-facing work. A combination of natural charm and knowing how to leverage it. As a result, a lot of his choice/elective classes had been required classes for management majors. Many had approached him as a case study or subject for their projects, and most of the time he accepted. So, when he heard about this extracurricular that Zipper and the other students had worked so hard on, how could he not offer to help? He'd spend most of the day up to now, what was supposed to be one of his rest days this week, practicing his little entrance routine. It was like his father always said, 'why leave to chance what you can ensure through preparation?' Fifth in the lineup, Kupo had also gotten the chance to watch the 4 exemplar performances before his own. After each, he tried to offer some kind of compliment/positive feedback. As everyone who'd gone before him was doing their intros, he'd been watching from a cross-beam above the stage.
He'd clapped both after Zipper's short speech and when Vox finished his intro. The madlib hero seemed so confident, and his acrobatic moves were pretty cool to see. He made a note to try and tell Ryota that when he'd finished his own performance. Next up, the ballerina. Kupo was massively impressed by her grace and poise, and her tagline (while it definitely needed work) was short and sweet. As she left the stage, Kupo hopped down from his perch alongside her (backstage). Hyped, he was bouncing on his feet with starry eyes. "That was amazing, Red Girl-san! It was so pretty, and I wish I could pull that off with perfect form like you did!" He'd entertain a conversation if she wanted to start one, but was quick to get back to spectating when the next intro started. Speaking of which, his recent friend (were they friends? he thought so) Hikari was up!
He'd been trying to ignore the seraph's rudeness towards their fellow students, thanking his elevated position above the stage, and was glad that there were no particularly nasty remarks he'd needed to challenge her on. He'd dealt with too many mean girls to not know that he must pick his battles. Hikari's initial entrance blew Kupo away, figuratively, her model-like form and backlighting technique reminding him of one of his older sisters. As she spoke though, it was the fox's turn to stifle a giggle. Did... did she not consider how that sounded as a hero intro? Either way, Kupo became acutely aware of Jun's presence a short distance below him... while Hikari was still on stage? As the upperclassman panicked and fell, Kupo was about to jump in and help, but stopped short of dropping down when she caught herself with a chain. What a cool maneuver! Unfortunately, also an improvised one. He saw Hikari fall off the stage, and immediately anyone perceptive enough would hear a childlike giggle from above the stage's curtain. "Oh, no!" he said, with the cadence of 'oh, you~'.
Despite the rough start to Jun's intro, she managed to clutch it. Probably the best speech part of all the ones he'd watched! A solid, clear message (and the seeming lack of confidence was entirely understandable given the context). The finger gun drifted into cute from its intended cool, but the vibe was still there. Kupo was quick to hop down to the area beside the stage, crouched to avoid obscuring Jun as he made his way to Hikari. "Are you okay, Kirameki-senpai? Your entry was beautiful, though you prob-" He was shortly interrupted by Gen's whole bit, one he couldn't help but hear. He focused on getting back behind the curtain, knowing that if he addressed Gen now then he'd inevitably end up telling off the heckler. He wasn't really going for 'little kid', nor 'nerd', for today's vibe so he chose to ignore the outburst for now. Ana's 'support' was also weird, especially given her proximity to Gen, though he had no way of knowing whether the nekomimi was being genuine or sarcastic so he let that one pass. Passing backstage as Jun did, he spoke up. Betraying the presence of genuine joy, his tail was wagging behind him. "You did great out there, Mood Ring-senpai! I probably wouldn't have been able to save myself after that start, but you did! Great speech, too!" He couldn't stay to talk this time, realising that he was next up! Time for some warm-up exercises...
...Or so he thought. 'Zipper', the organiser of this whole exercise, apparently had other plans. The mic feedback hurt, but the words were clear. "I guess I'm going sixth, now?" He squeaked, not to anyone in particular. Getting back to his viewing spot, Kupo sat (like a good boy). It was Gen's turn, not his.
tl;dr - familiar with the management department - practice practice - playing support - vox is cool and confident! (inside thought) - red girl is pretty and graceful! (said) - nova luna is stunning, and she got what was coming to her! (inside thought, went to help) - mood ring is inspiring, doing great! (said) - showtime! wait, what? - not showtime yet, waiting his turn Zipper Aimoto Momo hikari junsuina

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Non-training day (only combat class), mutuals/friends hmu if you wanna hang out! Now Playing: Static-P - Sugar Popped Sunshine Theory lessons were always Kupo's least favourite part of Combat classes. At least with his PR & Business of Heroics, Ethics & Hero Law, and Quirk Science classes, there was a lot that could only really be learnt in the classroom or through independent study. Combat, though? He felt like any theory or technique in this class could be just as easily taught out on the training field. He was a kinaesthetic learner, gosh darn it! Regardless of this belief though, Kupo was an attentive student. Always one of the first to raise his hand or offer an alternative explanation to students who weren't as quick to get it (and typically second to be picked on to answer, given that he could only raise his little arms so high). He'd learnt the names of almost all his classmates, but until today one in particular had evaded him. She was rarely ever in class (but with an appearance striking enough to draw his attention each time she was present), with today being a notable exception. He couldn't escape hearing her name today.
"Kirameki Hikari, how kind of you to finally join us!", "Kirameki, please pay attention!", "Kirameki, get off your phone before I confiscate it!" It was incessant. Normally, Kupo was pretty tolerant of less engaged students. Not everyone enjoyed learning about this stuff as much as he did, totally understandable! This interruption to the class was starting to get annoying, though. This annoyance focused in on the teacher. If she didn't make such a show of it, would Hikari even be bothering anyone? About mid-way through the period though, the teacher decided it was time for a practical exercise. She'd just been explaining the importance of positioning/mobility and spatial awareness during combat scenarios, and asked everyone to head out to the training field in their PE uniforms. Kupo was one of the first to rise to his feet, and scanning the class drew his eyes to Hikari, who looked confused. She... she didn't know what was going on, did she? Ever one to jump in if someone needs help, Kupo deftly hopped over to the space beside the angel's seat. "Let's go, Kirameki-senpai!" She... was a second-year, right? He thought he'd heard as much during attendance, anyway. Showing some social grace and trying to avoid embarrassing the upperclassman, he leaned in (on his tip-toes) and whispered the next part. "We're doing a practical exercise on the training field, gym uniforms. Something about tactical positioning, I think~" Even though Hikari was sat down, Kupo was still a little over a foot shorter, so the voice wouldn't quite be coming from eye level. When seen, though, Kupo's enthusiasm would be pretty clear to see (his perked ears, warm smile, and wagging tail all telling the same story).

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Tokyo Bay, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Let's go to the beach, beach~! Now Playing: Life By The Sea - Tubbo, CG5 This was Kupo's first (time celebrating) Sea Day. A whole dedicated to having fun on the beach and swimming in cool water sounded like a pretty nice prospect though, despite the relentless sun of a hot summer day being in full force. School was closed, too, meaning at least he didn't have to worry about focusing on classes and taking notes in this heat. It wouldn't quite be smooth sailing today, though. Since the day of the Elementalist's trial and the ensuing flooding (among other disasters), it had become abundantly clear to Jason Riviera that there were a number of gaps in his rescue skills. He wanted to get better at water rescues, and better at operating in summer in general. Why not kill two birds with one stone? Kupo, as much as he enjoyed training, wasn't stupid though. Outside, in the summer heat, he would need someone to at least supervise his training in case he misjudged the temperature and ended up passing out or something. Someone smart and careful. Like Kei!
He'd met the support major upperclassman just a minute or two away from this very beach a few weeks ago, both caught in the flooding in the wake of the Tide. Despite not being a heroics major, Kei Hada had stepped up anyway to help rescue people and had been vital to the main rescue effort. They'd both faced that disaster together, each unprepared in their own way. Who else would he have asked for help today? When training on the best of days, Kupo dressed lightly. Exercise is a damn good way to raise body temperature after all, and safe to say dissipating heat was not a strong suit of his. So today, barely sweating at all despite the hot air, Kupo was wearing as little as he could get away with. Fakémon-branded swimming trunks and plain white flip-flops with a very loose green t-shirt. He'd liberally applied high-SPF sunscreen, standard practice whenever his family (many of whom as heat-sensitive as he was) went to the beach, even below the shirt (which he would've ditched, were it not important for shielding his torso from the sun directly). As Kei broke the ice, Kupo stopped where he had. "Yeah, feels weird to be back so soon for sure." The more direct question caused the smaller boy to look up at Kei, meeting his gaze. "I'm doing okay, for now! Excited to get started mostly, thanks for coming with me, Hada-senpai!" He beamed at the older boy, a wide smile with all the sweetness of the ice cream sold nearby. Punctuating this reassurance, though, the dark grey band on Kupo's wrist beeped in protest. This place was outside his literal comfort zone, thermally-speaking, and not far from his danger zone. He dismissed the warning quickly, well aware of the risks here.
Pacing himself initially, Kupo headed down from the pavement onto the beach proper. The beach was packed, making finding a suitable place to train where he wouldn't endanger others difficult, but eventually the duo were able to find a spot with enough clearance that (unless he entirely fumbled his movement) there wasn't significant risk to/from civilians. Kupo placed his bag (with all the items in his app) and a football (soccer ball) he'd been carrying down there, near enough to an unused parasol to provide some shade. "Alright! I'm gonna do some warm-ups before we get started. Wanna join me, Hada-senpai?" Regardless of the answer received, first step warming up was some light cardio (which Kupo completed by doing about 20 jumping jacks, tail wagging quickly as he moved). Next step would be stretching!

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Non-training day, feel free to hmu :) Now Playing: The Stupendium - Shine Through Wednesday, the midpoint of the academic week and a non-training/rest day for Kupo. He'd gotten up at the relatively normal time of 07:00 (as opposed to 04:30 on training days), attended his morning lectures, and now was free for the afternoon. Despite this freedom, Kupo had decided to get lunch at the UAU cafeteria. A product of his great speed, compact size, and cute charm, he often managed to be one of the first in line, so typically had his choice of seat at lunch time. If he wasn't coming out of class with his friends, this typically meant taking a seat and waiting for some extrovert to decide that he was cute and/or weird enough to catch their eye. Most commonly this was the jock or social butterfly type, keen to ask him the same 20 (well-intentioned) questions about his Quirk or family (if they knew his father was a hero). Today, Kupo had so far had nothing of the sort. He enjoyed the interaction and interest in his uniqueness, but sometimes it made him feel like a zoo animal. Maybe today would be peaceful?
Haha, no. That wasn't how this worked. There were never enough tables in the cafeteria for anyone but the outcasts/'freaks' to get their own, so inevitably someone would end up at his. Kupo heard Pallas a good few seconds before he saw him. Heavy footfalls, slowly getting louder as they approached. The boy's sensitive ears were very tuned to the sound of footsteps (and people approaching him in general), so it didn't take much to fully pull his attention. There was definitely someone coming his way. Initially, Kupo looked around to find the source of the steps. Then, he looked up. Ah. Seeing the 8'6" titan in front of him, there was some kind of involuntary fear response for the first couple seconds. The little fox's ears flattened back against his head, muscles tensing as he leaned back in preparation to run if needed. Then, Kupo's conscious thought kicked in. Scared? That was hardly fair or nice, the person hadn't even done anything yet! So, he took a deep breath and regained his warm smile. Just in time for the larger boy to speak up. "Aww, thanks! I get that a lot. Love your outfit by the way, super cool!... Beyond the uniform, I mean, like accessories and stuff!"
Of course, Kupo didn't need to respond to the compliment in kind, but he did genuinely like Pallas' look. Then, tail swaying quickly behind him, Kupo realised he forgot to actually answer the other's question. "Oh, and of course you can sit here! Hope I'm not taking up too much space~" An obvious joke, given his diminuitive size, punctuated by the dog-like boy poking out his tongue. PALLAS!

Entering the second-floor office, Kupo was immediately hit with the heat of the room like a wave washing over him. It was incredibly uncomfortable, to start, but not quite painful yet. 'Okayokay, I can handle this!' He takes a couple seconds to take in the room. One 'person', fire close, wooden internal door. Kupo bursts forwards, landing behind the chair with the dummy in it. Partly to follow protocol, partly to reassure himself, Kupo took a second to speak. "Hi! I'm pro hero Snow Fox, here to help you!" Yes, a hero, that's what he's trying to be. Heroes can't hesitate. He pulls the dummy backwards out of the chair, rolling it to douse any flames on the clothes before jumping back towards the window. Now, how to deal with window rescues again? He ran through the process, mumbling what he'd been taught in order to stay focused. "Help to window- yep. Minimise harm, have another hero catch... heck." No other heroes, just him. Thinking on his feet, Kupo used them to jump up against the top of the window frame, launching himself off it down to ground level. His trailing foot nudged the dummy sat on the windowsill, knocking it down after him. With a little difficulty, Kupo caught the dummy once he hit the ground.
Once he made the catch (and lowered the dummy to the floor), Kupo set off around the building to enter via the other second-floor window. If he could avoid travelling via internal hallways/stairs, where his exit routes could well be blocked off by fire, he would. Once inside, Kupo assessed the situation once again. Wonderful. He found himself at the top of the stairwell, with two doors visible on the floor. The one opposite was most likely the room he'd just been in, so what about the one nearer to him? The landing was indeed on fire, some of it having started to lap at the floor and doors. Kupo went to try the door, but found it wouldn't open. Locked. With a few steps back (almost touching the flames himself), Kupo kicked open the door. A broken lock was minimal collateral damage, he thought. He looked into the room, checking for any more 'civilians'. The device on his wrist beeped in protest, noting that Kupo's core temperature had risen to dangerous levels. He dismissed it, at least for now. 'Yeah, I know!'

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Somewhere in the forest, Japan. | Current Status: Out on a nature walk! Now Playing: Scotty Sire - Mister Glassman No thought. Just perception. Running. Fear leads the charge. Over, under, across. Kupo starts to be more aware of the terrain he's moving through, all the snags and thorns. He stops being cut. More aware of just how expansive the forest ahead of him is, how small he is in comparison. He starts pacing himself. More aware of the sounds of the forest as he-
W h a t ? .........W a s ? ........................T h a t ? ! A voice, booming as thunder and befitting the one named King with its command. The thing about language, or at least the many varied and nuanced languages of humanity, was that it was a signifier of greater intelligence. The ability to convey shared meaning to another. Bestial monsters do not speak. Big scary predator animals do not address their prey. Tiny scared prey animals do not know the word "wait." Kupo does know that word. This word cuts through the fog and chemicals and instinct driving his mind to strike at the core. The civil human core that is polite and curious and brave and happy and obedient. Kupo very suddenly becomes consciously aware. Aware of what he is doing and where he is, beyond simply doing it and being there. Heeding the command, at least as much as he can bear to, Kupo races up a tree in his path. He stops crouched on a branch. He begins panting, like a dog.
Once Kupo had caught his breath (and checked his medical device to find it running on empty, uh-oh), he took in the situation with rational sight and alert hearing. He was a little beat up, but not seriously injured. He had a refill of his medication, provided the vial hadn't shattered. He could run, worst comes to worst. And while his stamina wasn't the greatest, he could most likely make it to the forest's edge and back to a bus stop if he needed to. The hare only lost the race because it got cocky, after all. The hare wasn't scared of the tortoise. So, he wasn't in immediate danger. The voice he'd heard, was it real? Could he have imagined it? No, a voice like that was not something the boy's mind could conjure, or at least not outside of his nightmares. Could it be trusted? Memories of fairytales where monsters and fae lured children into the forest to gobble them up played out in his mind. But then again, those centuries-old stories knew nothing of Quirks or what real monsters looked like. Kupo scolded himself for assuming such a thing about someone (?) he didn't even know. It would be impolite and rude to assume that of anyone, he thought. So then, what would he do?
Kupo decided to wait. Wait and see what they (?) wanted to say, what they chose to do. He was trying to be a hero, and what kind of hero just decided someone was a villain? If his instincts were right, though, Kupo would have to trust his legs to power though. He took the short time needed to refill his medicine pump. Kupo waited, up in the tree.tl;dr - Booking it - S n a p . b a c k . t o . r e a l i t y - Word. Word? Word! Words mean sentience, uh-oh. - Well it'd be rude to ignore them. - Waiting, up in a tree.

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Work hard, play harder! Now Playing: OneRepublic - Counting Stars The immediate hand on his shoulder really shouldn't have been a surprise for Kupo, but it managed to catch him off-guard regardless. The boy very briefly froze up, a small gasp escaping his mouth, before regaining his composure and following Zaya down the hall. He looked back as she did, slightly unsettled by the sudden change in demeanour of the other male student. In a tiny voice, he piped up. "Hey, please don't touch me without asking, especially from behind." Kupo smiled, so as not to seem hostile with how he made the request, then looked up at Zaya. "Anyway, are you okay? Like, really, that seemed super uncomfy." He didn't wanna make any assumptions about her being sensitive or anything, but providing comfort and reassurance was one of his strengths, so always good to ask if somebody needed some.
As Zaya spoke, Kupo simultaneously felt proud to have made a difference and concerned that what (to him) was a simple act of kindness seemed so monumental. A hero? Well, he was trying super hard to be a hero (hence attending UA), but that phrasing still seemed off for some reason. "I guess? I mean, I overheard the conversation and saw the whole 'nice guy' bit. You sounded super-duper done, so I felt like I had to do something. What kind of hero just stands by while people do bad stuff, right?" He'd always been taught to be an upstander, not a bystander. Stand up if someone's being bullied, or excluded. Stand up if someone's uncomfortable. Of course, because of Kupo's size and mutations, he was most often the one being teased. Made uncomfortable. Usually Maki stood up for him. Kupo's mind caught up to the first half of that statement, as he realised he'd forgot to introduce himself even when he called Zaya by name. "Oh! And I'm Jason Riviera, by the way. We're classmates in Rescue 102, or at least I'm pretty sure that's the class... We do have an assignment due tomorrow, but it's just an online quiz ahead of the field lesson. Not a big project." Realising he was starting to ramble, Kupo cut that statement short. His smile softened, more natural now.

Nilmimi had started crying. She started crying? Kupo looked up at this woman he'd admired so much, clearly touched by his words, and couldn't help but start tearing up too. He didn't know anything of what she (or anyone else) was going though, how could he? Kupo knew the emotion well though. Being unable to process praise, so focused on your flaws or somebody else's brilliance that when your own is acknowledged, you're blindsided by it. He cried as well, then, out of sympathy more than anything. "-a heart as brave and wonderful as your own..." Brave... and wonderful? Nilmimi Chou, someone he'd looked up to as a symbol of mutant self-acceptance and confidence for as long as he could remember, thought he was brave? Thanked him for helping her find bravery? For some that would've been a 'never meet your heroes' moment, but for Kupo it was eye-opening. Entirely shifting his perspective on the matter. He wanted to hear her story, all about her.
Kupo was about to speak up and express this desire, but no sound bar a small squeak could escape him as Nilmimi wrapped the boy in a hug. His body was very briefly stiff, a small backwards motion felt against the embrace and a glint of caution in the eyes, but Kupo quickly calmed down and leaned fully into the hug to return the gesture. It felt great, two very soft people being physically soft together. It felt just enough like a hug from Kupo's mother that when he closed his eyes, he moved without any thought. A small lick on Nilmimi's cheek, just enough to be felt. There was a couple seconds of silence before Kupo's polite and proper brain caught up with his impulsive and friendly body. He just... bad, bad, bad, bad! In a tiny, private voice, he apologised. "Uwah! Sorry, sorry, sorry! I... didn't mean to do that..."
As the hug ends, Kupo looks around, sitting down with his legs crossed. He sees Hebiru and Kei join them on the rooftop, watching both with interest. He saw Hebiru's posture, coiled to strike out like a predator but with intent to save. She looked so tired, but was immediately ready to keep going. It was inspiring, and Kupo rose to his feet himself. He saw Kei, not even a heroics student, stagger onto the roof and crash. He'd done so well! "You were awesome too, Surplus-senpai! Wait, did I say sensei earlier? Sorry about that!" He giggled, not exactly surprised that (non-native as he was), he made such a basic Japanese mistake under stress. Then, Kupo's attention is drawn to the sky as the caulder of green moths ascend into the sky from Nilmimi's fluff. It's beautiful, entrancing. "Woah~" Seeing her Quirk in action truly was a highlight of the day, and he wondered if some of the prettier scenes from the various films she'd appeared in were inspired by it. Wondered if this was why they got less visually striking after she stopped acting.
It was a warm day, all things considered. There was a reason he'd chosen to go to the beach, after all. He was almost dry now, besides his sodden fur, and hopefully the man he'd saved was drying off too. In fact, this lighting was almost perfect for a photo, as Kupo's media training had taught him. A photo! His family would love to see his first rescue, especially when he'd saved Lunara's actress! Kupo walked over to the other three, clearly excited. "Hey, is it alright if I take a picture of all of us? Especially with you, Chou-sama! I'm not gonna post it, promise!" With the consent of the trio, Kupo took a selfie with them all, wearing his trademark warm smile. He wondered then where Yasashi had ended up, how he was doing. Kupo hadn't seen him floating in the water, so hopefully that meant he'd see his friend back at Noblebright House later. "Looks great! Thanks, you guys!" After a short time, the civilian family they were sharing the roof with (or at least the kids) wanted to take a picture with the young hero hopeful too, to which he gladly obliged. This feeling - the elation and gratitude saturating the air after a successful rescue and the feeling of being able to save lives - it was everything. He wanted to feel it forever. So, he thought, he couldn't give up now. He had to be a hero.
tl;dr - Sympathy tears - Brave and wonderful? In my heart? It's more likely than you think. - The warmest hug! Initially (noticeably) spooked, but quickly leans into it. - Tiny lick. Wait, I'm not supposed to do that! Sorry! - Break hug, sees Kei, "you did great, too!" - Marvels at pretty caulder of moths as Nilmimi uses Quirk - Takes photo with everyone - Wow, saving people feels great, I'm gonna chase this high! | ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Kotoku, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Flooding in Tokyo Bay, evacuate to higher ground! Now Playing: Megami33 - Showtime~! With some cooperation, Kupo was able to get both adults (first the casualty, then the mother) over onto the fire escape balcony as well. It was a touch slower than he would've liked given they were on a timer, but that was what this kind of rescue work required. After the first had been transferred over to join the kids, Kupo got a horrible spine-chill, like each one of his delicate and heightened senses were warning him of something he couldn't quite place. Once the mother was on the balcony as well, there was the briefest moment of joy and celebration. It warmed Kupo's heart, and that warmth would have to fuel him for what occurred next. That warning feeling grew stronger, until adrenaline outweighed any sense of comfort or ease. In this moment of animalistic drive then, what thoughts could pass his mind? There was but one sole instinct: be ready, go, run! He tried to give some reassurance or order to the people he'd saved, but all that emerged were soft whines and growls.
Something compelled him to jump backwards, back to the platform even though the last 3 had already departed. In midair, he heard it then. One shout, followed by a crescendo of noise. His mind latched onto the emotion of the sound before his eyes even opened. It was painful in that one moment. He had to focus on something to stop his body reacting to the instinct to flee and hide. Cutting through the noise, he pin-pointed two voices. The first was pained, a single word. "NO!" He opened his eyes and saw the scenario in front of him. One man falling, 2 crossing the bridge. Surplus-senpai was at his limit, unable to help. His strength and resolve would have to be enough. Kupo landed on the platform, only a split second to make a snap judgement. The second was determined, an almost frantic warning. "YOUNG ONE--SNOW FOX! SURPLUS NEEDS YOU, GET THERE, NOW...!" He could not will himself to vocalise his response. 'Yes, I know! I'm going!' He bent his knees as he landed, tilting forward with the momentum into a forwards dive. Lunara-sama and Gorgon-sensei were too far away to save this man in time, and the latter was also instrumental in keeping this floating building where it was for just one more moment, let alone the bridge across the two buildings. Their support and belief would have to be enough. Kupo reckoned that catching the man in the air wouldn't work, both because he was too weak to make the catch and because he had nowhere to land. So, what could he do?
Kupo was in-flight, then he was diving head-first into the water. Blink, and you'd miss the time in-between. With his momentum, there was a short time before the rushing water started to carry him and the fallen civilian along. Kupo put his powerful legs to good use kicking towards the man and then towards the solid surface beneath the water. It was so cold. Kupo could handle the cold, though. What was harder to deal with was the pain. The saltwater burned his eyes and stung the small cuts that dotted his limbs. Despite this, Kupo continued. What other choice did a hero have? Kupo wasn't a hero yet, but the mindset had been ingrained for years now. All that ran through his mind to tune out this discomfort was 'how do I get out of this?' Touching down on something solid, he couldn't see what, Kupo wrapped his arms around the civilian and kicked off with all his strength. This was just barely enough to bring the pair up out of the water and back onto the floating building that was hanging by a thread. He took a few seconds to check if the man needed resuscitation, then a few more to catch his breath.
There was just one step left, now. Kupo was exhausted, the explosive action and repeated danger that he'd pushed himself through to try and save everyone had taken its toll and left him on his last legs (stamina-wise, at least). A growl, high-pitched as his body could not produce a low one, resounded over the air. It was all he could do to motivate himslf, drive up adrenaline and continue on. He hopped on his feet a few times to hopefully communicate the intent to the other, and then with a final effort the pair made it to the same balcony as the rest that Kupo had taken. Kupo spoke then, for the first time since he'd saved the two kids. He shouted, even. "RELEASE!" A command, letting Kei and Hebiru know that they could let go of the now-vacant building, releasing the strain on both. He then escorted the few civilians up the fire escape to the roof, where Nilmimi and the others had been waiting. His steps were slow, and voice softer than it had been, but the smile lighting up Kupo's face shone through. "Thank you... your words really helped me focus." He tried to remember the actresses name, memories of reruns and family watch parties slightly hazy in the details. "You're... Chou-san, right? Sorry, I could only think of your stage name in the moment. I'm a... big fan~" There was a tone of contentedness to his speech, a sound something like purring underlining it. "Oh, and sorry about your... friend... I didn't see what happened, but I saw them in the air! Is that part of your Quirk?" Contrary to Nilmimi's worries about being reprimanded (or worse), there was only a sense of wonder in how Kupo asked the question.
tl;dr - Taking the hobbits to Isengard Taking the two adults up to the safe zone - Gets a Bad Vibe™️ and jumps backwards towards the platform. Non-verbal as instinct takes over. - Too loud for misophonia boy when guy falls, has to focus on two familiar voices calling out - Assesses the situation in midair: -- Bad idea to try and catch in the air -- Dives into water off floating building to intercept instead - Fuck, this saltwater really hurts my eyes and cuts - Holds onto the guy and kicks off the 'floor', going plus ultra with momentum to resist the current. - Back on the platform, visibly exhausted but loud puppy growl to pump himself up. - Makes it back to the safe balcony, tells the bridge duo to "RELEASE!" Escorts civis up onto safe roof. mission_complete.mp3 - Speaking softly and moving slowly, but big smile. Thanks Nilmimi (and indirectly moth child) for the inspiration. - Big fan, asks curiously about Nil's Quirk. Nilmimi Chou Yanai Hebiru Kei Hada Koffee-Kun Taka Yasashi

| ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Kotoku, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Flooding in Tokyo Bay, evacuate to higher ground! Now Playing: Toby Fox - Hopes And Dreams Kupo moved back further onto the rooftop to make space as Hebiru ascended, responding with a simple nod and yip to the nurse's question. He had a few scrapes and scratches, some of which would definitely hurt later, but none debilitating or severe. Kupo looked out across the waterlogged street, seeing a dark barrier but no concrete evidence of the other student present. "Vigil was down there last I saw, but I'm sure he's okay too, he's strong." As the wave approached, Kupo's immediate instinct was to cover for the civilian kid. But, seeing the senior hero leaping into action, he instead opted to get his center of gravity as low as possible, grounding himself against the shock to the building and ducking under the spray of water that followed. As soon as the shock dissipated, he immediately sprang to the building's edge in case he needed to catch/fetch anyone, but again Hebiru was faster on the draw. As Hebiru explained the plan going forward, Kupo's attention was divided. On the building's edge, he had heard the sounds of desparation and fear over the raging water and was scanning the street to pinpoint the noise's source. As the order was given to accompany the two civilians across Hebiru's bridge, the small fox's body was moving on its own. Kupo looked back towards the group, meeting Nilmimi's eyes. He saw it, now. What had sparked that déjà vu, that feeling of recognition. With his typical beaming smile, he called out to the hero he saw before him now. "You can do it, Lunara!"
Already in motion now, Kupo also met eyes with Kei and Hebiru in turn. If he timed this right, there was no risk. "Let's go!" Having spotted the smaller building approaching, Kupo made the leap of faith just as it passed to minimise the distance. He was a couple meters short, but Kupo wasn't alone. Seeing the angle, just as he figured they would, the two limbs rushed past him and made contact as he landed. A short hop was all it took to make it to the floating 'platform'. What Kupo hadn't accounted for was the sharp deceleration as the building now had a force holding it back from the water pulling it forward. A couple of the civilians were almost sent off into the water because of this, but quick action helped pull them back.
Now stable for the moment, Kupo assessed the situation. There were about 9 civilians there, 5 adults and 4 children. Looked like a family. 2 of them, 1 of each, were seemingly injured. 1 other almost certainly couldn't walk unaided, being so young. Next, escape routes. The way he'd came was the most obvious solution, but only about half of the people who needed aid could possibly traverse that 2-limbed bridge. The stable building on the other side of the water was the next-safest bet. The top was too far to jump or climb with injured people though, so where?... There! A fire escape on the side of the building facing away from the waves. The stairs were still almost entirely intact, and a little higher up the inside was probably safe as a brief respite while ascending. In a few seconds, Kupo had his strategy.
"Help is here! Anyone able to climb, please head up the bridge to the roof I came from! Quickly! It's safe, and we can catch you if you fall!" With that order, the people seemed hesitant to follow the orders of (what looked like) a child, but urgency would hopefully force their hand. Kupo called up to Kei. "Surplus-sensei! Civilians coming up!" He next turned his attention to the 4 he thought would have most issue escaping from this situation. The two with injuries and another mother-child pair. He took a bit of time to try and calm them down, taking a soothing tone, though stating his reassurance more as if it were fact than hopes. "We're here to help you guys, alright? I'm gonna get you guys out of here, but you have to trust me! See that fire escape up there? It's safe, we're gonna get there!"
After some deliberating, the mother handed off their child, who Kupo took in a piggyback carry. "Ready? We're gonna fly! Hold on tight, okay?" The added weight was almost equal to Kupo's own, but within what he'd trained to carry this distance. He leaped across the gap, landing with a slide to soften the shock on the balcony by the stairs. The door to the apartment's inside was open, luckily. "Yay, we did it! Alright, now can you hide round the corner in there? Let's scare your sister when she comes up!" He quickly made the jump back, and repeated the process with the injured kid. With arms around each others' shoulders, they made the jump. "Hang in there, back soon!" The kid was on the balcony, leaving Kupo hanging on to kick off back back towards the floating building. Alright, now to deal with the adults.
tl;dr- Kupo moved back further onto the rooftop to make space as Hebiru ascended, responding with a simple nod and yip to the nurse's question. - Kupo braced himself, and as Hebiru explained the plan, Kupo heard the floating civis and looked for them. As the order was given to accompany the two civilians across Hebiru's bridge, he started schmovin'. - " You can do it, Lunara!" - Kupo literally leapt into action, landing on the other end of the bridge and making it to the floating civis. - 9 civs: 3 able adults, 2 able kids (going up bridge), 2 injured peeps, mother & super young kid (Kupo's helping). - Kupo called up to Kei. " Surplus-sensei! Civilians coming up!" - Helps the young kid and injured kid up onto a balcony w/ fire escape on building opposite, 2 adults still there awaiting aid. | ★Jason Riviera★ | @crystalprincekupo Location: Kotoku, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Flooding in Tokyo Bay, evacuate to higher ground! Now Playing: Yuki Hayashi - You Say Run Struggling to stay afloat as the wave marched onward, it was all Kupo could do to not sink beneath the wave. All he could do to not give in to panic and shock. Believe it or not, this was the second time this month that Kupo had been drenched in seawater against his will. Then, a saving grace. A foothold. All he needed was a foothold. Using the step provided by Hebiru to get above the wave, it was only a second or two before he kicked off it as hard as he could towards the building. Making contact with a windowsill on the building's wall, he scaled it in a few carefully-placed leaps. As long as there was something solid to jump off, this urban landscape was his playground. As soon as he was free from the wave, Kupo cried out as loudly as he could against the sound of the crashing waves. In English: "CLEAR!" Back to Japanese: "I'm okay! Thanks, sensei!"
He found himself on a building a little away from the others, so made his way across the rooftops quickly. The last few bursts of speed had burned through a lot of his stamina, but the boy's tank was still half-full. He spent a little time aiding any stragglers across the bridge, then returned to a position opposite Hebiru on the roof (just in case she fell). Looking and listening over the edge for any sign of others caught in the water. Especially Yasashi, though he trusted his classmate to be okay. Kupo looked like a wet puppy and was breathing/panting heavily, but there was a notable shine of enthusiasm and resolve in his eyes. "Ready for action! Snow Fox, 1st Year Heroics. I'll take your lead!"
tl;dr - Using the steps as a foothold, Kupo leaps to (and up) a nearby building as fast as he can. - "Clear!" (Loudly, in English) - Reaffirms that he's okay and makes his way over to the building with everyone else. - Perched at the edge ready to catch Hebiru if needed, probably pretty close to Kei. - At the ready, receptive to orders and looking out for anyone in trouble.
