It was her first festival of this nature. As quickly as Freja had taken a liking to Japanese culture, she still had yet to participate in the little events like these. It didn't help that she was participating as a girl and there was the whole yukata/kimono business. Despite her circumstances and despite having been swapped with his sister years ago, he still wasn't used to all the girly stuff. At least not all of it yet. So how did Freja find herself in a dress room getting fitted into a yukata? Well, trying out new things and pushing personal boundaries? ''I'm gonna come out now, but don't look!'' She begged, completely unreasonable considering the girls were all going to spend the day together at the festival. As she stepped out from behind the curtain Freja herself had her eyes closed, holding her arms up to cover her face, as if she was expecting the girls to throw rotten tomatoes at her. After a few moments she finally built up the courage to open her eyes. ''H-How do I look?'' It felt so unlike her to be wearing something like this. The only time she really ever wore a skirt was through the school uniform, otherwise it was pants, shorts, hoodies or jackets to cover up her chest. All those physical traits she was still uncomfortable with presenting to the world. The yukata, although abstract and colorful in its design was clearly owl-themed. She instinctively put her hand down to her hip, feeling naked without her bat by her side. People with quirks would never understand what it felt like to be defenseless. At least Emi and Rin were here with her. Emilia HallRin

Even though she already had a yukata back at home, Rin ended up getting fitted for a new one herself. Partially because going home to retrieve it would be a bit of a pain this short notice - the festival approaching had entirely slipped her mind - but mostly because she was concerned it'd be too old or ratty or something. Not that she thought Freja or Emi were judgemental people! But it was just easier to take that possibility off the table entirely by getting a new one, and it probably maybe made it less awkward for Freja by not being the only one doing so. Rin hoped so, anyways, since the actual fittings were still done seperately and by coincidence of timing Rin was done first and waiting for Freja.
Rin herself had gone with something very simple, a soft and muted green with black and white accents - and a sharp blue strip coming down the front. As small as she was and even though it was properly fitted to her, it looked very baggy on her all the same.
Bringing her hands up into a light clap when Freja came out, Rin gave her the best attempt at a reassuring smile she could muster. "It really suits you, Freja-san. It... it brings out your hair, I think!" She was being sincere with that, but like whenever she said pretty much anything she immediately found herself wondering if it was a weird thing to say or if she could have phrased it better. ▲ A summer festival! Emi had only heard of these when she started applying to UAU. She may have experienced a lot of different places and cultures but a festival like this was completely new territory. Even if she didn't seem like it she did really enjoy dressing up from time to time, especially when it came to anything fancy like dresses. A yukata was sort of like a dress, wasn't it? When she had told her mother the day prior that she was going to the summer festival and her mother elected to send her some money to buy her something nice to wear especially since she was going to be there for a few years. Emi had wanted to surprise the girls so she had picked out her wear in private and was changing at the same time Freja was. "I'm coming out too!" she called out fixing her hair before she stepped out of the dressing room. She was wearing a blue yukata with white accents that was decorated with stars and moons. Her hair had been put up into the style that was traditional for women wearing yukata and had a flower kanzashi (hair pin) to keep it up. Before she could even show off she had turned to Freja exclaiming "You look great! That color really suits you! You too Rin!" she wasn't one to hype up her friends for no reason they really did both look beautiful. "So what are we going to do first? My suggestion is Takoyaki! Didn't you say your older brother was going to be entering a cooking competition?" Rin had mentioned in passing that her older brother and his coworker would be at the festival and she was curious to meet him! MADE BY VEL OF GS

''Really? I-I guess it does.'' She admitted shyly, finally taking the courage to look up and seeing Rin there. ''You look great too Rin, is this your first time in a yukata too?'' She could feel her shoulders slowly relax more and more as they eased up, maybe wearing one of these things wasn't so bad, maybe it wasn't so scary after all. She turned to look when Emi made her bold announcement, standing next to Rin to give her roommate some space. When she emerged in her blue yukata, Freja mimicked what Rin had done earlier and clapped her hands together lightly. ''It's like looking at the night sky! It really suits you.'' It wasn't until Emi complimented her that Freja felt her face grow and felt the need to hide it. ''M-Me?! We're complimenting you!'' Her friends were too nice! ''Takoyaki sounds great right about now.'' She smiled, peering outside carefully. ''Think we could order it over here or something? I-It's just there's a lot of people around and with these flashy dresses I don't want to draw too much attention.'' She had psyched herself up to wearing it in front of the girls, but walking into a tightly packed festival? Yeah, she was terrified. ''There's gonna be a cooking competition? Your brother is Gotoh-sensei, right? I didn't know he likes cooking.'' She looked back over at Rin and Emi. Amane Gotoh the student counselor was someone Freja was well-acquainted with, to probably the surprise of no one. The quirkless student who was attending the hero course needing additional career advice was hardly surprising. RinEmilia Hall

Emi managed to comment on her look before Rin could do the same for Emi, hastily replying back a "You too, Emilia-san! And thank you, Freja-san! Uhm, it isn't, no." before mentally kicking herself over both repeating pretty much what Emi had said to her and being slow on the draw after complimenting Freja promptly like she had. She didn't want Emi to feel bad or anything, but now the brunette wasn't sure if she should just leave it be or try and accomodate or what! Thankfully while she was agonizing over it the conversation moved on, and she gave a sincerely enthusiastic reply: "Ah, takoyaki sounds great... and it really would be nice wouldn't it, to get it over here?"
She wasn't just being agreeable like usual, she was eying the crowd with the same apprehension that Freja was. It was awkward enough trying not to look like a loser around her roommates, who were also pretty much her only friends. Minimizing social stress was always something Rin was in favor of if she could get away with it, and Freja suggesting it first was a perfect out for her. Tilting her head briefly, she gave a faint smile and a nod at the mention of her older sibling. "Ah, yeah, she is! Uhm, she would probably prefer to be called Sadako while off work... I think?"
She wasn't sure about that either, but she knew her sister was a lot less stiff than most people.
Holding her hands up slightly, she hastily added: "But yeah, takoyaki time!"
