It was a nice day. Beautiful, even. The sort of day that made Sora glad to be back home; while he had loved his time back in America, it felt almost liberating for him to be back in Tokyo after so long away. So much had changed during his absence, and yet so much had stayed the same. Both with the city, and with Sora himself. Sora was currently walking out of a local sweets shop, having been feeling a little peckish after an early morning patrol. He wanted to get back on track with the time difference, so he was a little dreary but otherwise ready and waiting. While some people he had met thus far recognized him, mostly it was just people who would see him regularly during his days as a student. That, combined with his rather mundane hero costume, made it pretty easy for the uninformed to miss the fact that he was even a hero at all! Of course, he was fine with that for the time being; Sora dislikes being the center of attention, so blending into the crowd was nice. Though he did know that he would need to start being a bit more public if he truly wanted to make a name for himself as a hero. Back in New York, his accomplishments made him a familiar face and name. It was nice to know that his presence alone was enough to ease the minds of civilians, and deter criminals. But here, he felt like he had a long way to go bedore he regained that level of notoriety. “Thanks for the pastries, sir!” He called to the man who ran the sweets shop, who waved absentmindedly since he was busy with other customers. Sora was taking the last few bites of his donut when he noticed an electronics store nearby, with a bunch of tvs up in the window. A news report was on. “All citizens are advised to stay clear of the road! A car was stolen and is currently attempting to shake the police by driving through the crowded streets of Tokyo!” Spoke a reporter, the report also having overhead footage from a news helicopter following the offending car. Sora looked at the roads and stores visible in the footage, and his eyes widened. He had just passed these stores on his way to the shop… it was heading this way! Immediately Sora switched back to Hero mode, putting on his goggles in preparation for the car’s arrival. He cupped his hands to his mouth, wanting his voice to carry as far as it could. “EVERYBODY OFF THE STREETS!! THERE’S A STOLEN CAR COMING DOWN THE ROAD!!” He shouted, causing a bunch of heads to turn his way. Though he didn’t look much like a hero besides the distinctive goggles covering his eyes, Sora’s voice carried enough authority and urgency that people quickly began to get onto the sidewalk, the particularly cautious squeezing into alleyways for extra security. Sora stepped into the middle of the road, inhaling deeply as he awaited the stolen car. He stood strong and ready, eyes straight ahead as he braced himself. Either it’d head straight towards him or swerve around… either way, it wasn’t going to get away from Neptune. Jackie Maradona

[attr="class","hiraeth"]私は世界を変えたい | [attr="class","achee"] [attr="class","castleonthehill"] ❝ "What's the word, Criosho?""Carjackers; three involved. The driver's evading the police well enough, the passenger's armed with a low-caliber weapon, and the one in the backseat seems to be equipped with a dangerous quirk."The vigilante, adorned in her typical manner as "Grinta," flew forth above the cityscape, shooting through the air in pursuit of their would-be thieves. Though such action wasn't irregular for her, Grinta's niche presence in this superpowered world granted her not the amenities of her more law-abiding counterparts — namely, the assistance of existing law enforcement wasn't a benefit she'd known. Rather than a passive observer that acted when the situation presented itself, however, the Argentine sought out the places where the fire burned the hottest and dove straight into the flames, hoping to douse them before heroes were even a necessity. "How dange'ous?" She'd ask aloud, the wind whipping at her mask as she soared along near rooftops. "The type to crush a car with its force, Lady Grinta.""Some pe''y crook ha' that level of fi'epower?"It wasn't impossible, she supposed. The advent of quirks had, too, included the means to enhance them — whether that be through diligence or through external boons, stepping into the next level wasn't as impossible of a feat as it may seem. Really, the willingness to do so depended entirely upon one's will to manage it. "Quirk 'timu'ants must really be ta'ing new 'teps to get this far.""Two blocks on the left, southbound. They appear to be ranged-type who releases tremors, ones that can even travel through the air.""Not ma'ing it any easier on me, eh?""...No one is making you do this.""And that's reason to 'top?"If danger was enough reason for Grinta to cower in the face of her ideals, then she surely wouldn't have managed to survive as a vigilante — not for as long as she had, anyway. If the fear of failure — the terror of death, even — was so potent as to dissuade her from this path, then what good would she be in realizing her dream? She wouldn't allow her standard to remain a fantasy, not while her heart still beat and her lungs continued to breathe. As she now tailed the speeding vehicle — following it at a nominal distance, as to not agitate her targets — she looked ahead to the scene playing out, and the readying of someone in the middle of the path. Were they a hero? Whatever their prerogative, the driver seemed to want to swerve out of his path; they'd rather not let their heist go array just yet, and charging headlong into a pedestrian would be of no help to help that. As a result, the passenger-side occupant reached a pistol outside their window and fired down to the street, hoping to scare the hero by shooting at his feet. Sora's eyes fell on the escaping vehicle as soon as it came into view, and he noticed a figure flying behind the vehicle as well. A hero already in pursuit, perhaps? They certainly didn't seem to be a member of the trio in the car; the outfit was enough to set her apart from the criminals. Well, he was happy to lend a hand in stopping these three. Fortunately the streets were empty, everyone either on the sidewalks or tucked away in the alleys as they watched the two approaching shapes and the man in the road. The recently returned hero took notice of the fact that the driver seemed indecisive; they couldn't seem to decide whether to drive around him on the left side or the right. That alone told Sora that these people weren't just out for random acts of violence; if they were then they likely would have just barreled straight through him without a second thought... or tried to, at least. One of the men in the car shouted out at him to move, even firing off a handgun in the process. The bullet stopped well short of Sora; between that and his plea to move, it seemed to reinforce that they weren't just out for blood. Good; the world could do with less needless violence. Still, regardless of what they actually were up to, that didn't change the fact that they were endangering lives right now. And Sora couldn't have that; from beneath his black hair sprouted a pair of blue horns, and the moment they did he could feel a shift in the air as his Quirk took effect as he took stock of his surroundings. "I'm afraid not, y'all." Sora called back to the man who had shouted for him to move, holding a hand out to either side. It looked as though he was just gesturing for them to stop, but that was not the case. Instead, Sora swung his arms in front of him, towards the ground. A powerful gale shot towards the car, seemingly from out of nowhere. But rather than simply smash into the vehicle, it seemed to... slip under it? The driver froze for a moment, looking down and stomping on the gas pedal. He wasn't getting any closer to the stranger blocking their way; it was like they were stuck. "H-hey guys, something's up with the car!" He called out. The man with the gun, from his position outside the window, shook his head slowly. "It's not the car, idiot!" He corrected the man, his eyes still wide from the realization. "This bastard 'ere's picked us up!" Just as he said, Sora had swept the car into the air with a precisely maintained current of wind; the car's wheels were spinning but it was futile; after all, they weren't in contact with the ground. Sora was pleased with his decision-making; he had any number of ways he could have stopped the vehicle; a simple gust of wind, slashing the tires, creating some sort of barricade with stuff around him, etc. But this was by far the least risky way of immobilizing the villains without getting civilians caught up as collateral. "Who the hell are ya?!" Demanded the gunner, leveling the gun right at Sora this time. Sora maintained a neutral expression, already having a plan in mind for if the man DID shoot at him directly. "You can just call me Dericho; the Wind Dragon. And I'm placing you all under arrest. If you'll come quietly, I promise no harm will come to you."The man in the back seat growled at the man, seeing his request as a sign of cockiness. "Like hell! I didn't get these stimulants just to rot in jail!" He declared, punching the air with his fist. Sora's eyes widened as he saw a shockwave of some sort rip through the air, but he regained his composure quickly. This time he thrust his hand forward, and a vicious wind roared as it met the shockwave head-on, the force of it enough to dissipate the force. Sora frowned. "Quirk stimulants, huh?" He noted, having heard the man clearly. He crossed his arms, and the wind around Sora began to whip and twist fiercely. "Then I'm afraid I have some questions for you to answer... after I've brought you lot in."He never took his eyes off of the trio, but was curious as to how the person who had been pursuing then would get involved.
