Just as Sora intended, his combination of a wall of wind and the strike to his leg was sufficient to take down Yasashi despite his greater size and weight. He watched as the younger man surrendered and pushed himself to a sitting position, seemingly frustrated as he muttered about not being good enough. This made the hero frown. Their first exchange and he was already so down on himself? Sora walked in front of Taka and extended a hand down, smiling as he offered to help him to his feet. "Nonsense." He insisted, shaking his head. "You did precisely as I told you. This hardly even qualifies as the training itself; I just needed to get an idea of how you do things. You know the old saying, 'the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step'? Well before you take that first step, you need to know where you're going, right?"Whether Yasashi accepted his offer to help him up or not, Sora would then cross his arms as he looked up at the sky for a moment. "When my wind crashed into you, how did it feel? Physically, mentally, any way you can describe it." Sora held up one finger. "If you can address one issue with how a problem has stymied you, you'd be amazed at how much of a difference it can make. Believe me, a wall is made up of many bricks; and the more bricks removed, the less of an obstacle it provides."Taka Yasashi

Sora smiled as May turned off and removed her headphones when he approached, chuckling a little bit at her joke. "I love your confidence, but why is it that I'm the would-be stalker?" He asked, crossing his arms. "I turned around and you were already looking at me, after all; maybe you're the one stalking me!"May went on to explain why she was out today, simultaneously explaining why she was dressed as she was. He hummed curiously. "I see. A show, is it? What kind of show?" He asked, though he nodded in agreement with her assessment of the weather. "Oh yeah, it's beautiful today. I prefer it colder personally, but I wouldn't mind if it stayed like this for a while longer."The hero student took note of his own outfit, and he nodded. "Not too far off, really. Just taking in the festival today. As for the clothes, well, I don't really have much in the way of lightweight stuff, heh. My training clothes are about as cool as it gets for me."Sora did take notice of the glove May was wearing, recognizing it as one worn while practicing archery. Given that she had mentioned such a skill, he wondered if perhaps she had been training earlier or planning on it later. When the announcement came over the speakers, Sora followed her gaze to the stalls and crowds before turning to face her with an easy smile. "If you're not too busy with your cardio, would you like to join me in checking out the festival? I basically just got here so I have no idea what all is going on here." He considered saying something along the lines of an 'all work and no play' quotation, but decided against it; playing around in a festival probably wouldn't be comparable stamina training compared to jogging. Ishtar cackled, befitting the witch she was, as the debris kicked up by Sora's wind began to pelt her. To be perfectly honest, that hadn't been a priority of his at all; if anything, seeing how easily her power dealt with the tiniest of the mess swirling around in the air just served as more information. It wasn't everything that hit her; some smaller bits were still able to strike her, but it wasn't nearly enough to actually put her on the back foot. A fact she was well aware of as she taunted him, forming spheres of that same sickening light as she encouraged him to continue his struggle. At this, even the serious Dericho couldn't help but let the tiniest of smiles crack across his face, though the fierce wind and debris made it all but impossible to see. "Struggling, am I? You just go on thinking that, Ishtar." He thought to himself as Gleipnir pressed the attack. The girl swung another chain towards the villainess, who allowed it to catch her wrist and cooed at her opponent in a tone equal parts fond and menacing as she used a spike of her odd energy to anchor herself to the ground. The balls of light began to compress, and Sora had an idea of what was coming. Fortunately the smallest of her attacks were dispersed harmlessly by his wind, but in preparation for the others he commanded the wind to shield him in their directions with the debris he had lifted. He wanted to protect his fellow hero as well, but he didn't want to risk impeding her while she was connected to their foe and just had to hope that Ishtar's attacks wouldn't be as targeted near herself. His eyes fell on the spike Ishtar had planted in the rooftop... that could work. Sora made a show of raising his hand into the air, in the hopes that Gleipnir would get an idea of what he was about to do, and then slammed it down. A fierce blast of wind rushed from directly above Ishtar, aiming for her arm holding the spike specifically. He couldn't use his full plan yet, but he could pave the way for it; with winds precise enough to make leaves dance through the air and powerful enough to smash through buildings, it was a trivial matter for him to break just the surface where Ishtar's anchor was planted. And if her arm suffered from the force too, well... that would just be a nice bonus. Sadako Gotoh Amano Ito Miroru Sonya Chernovna

Sora sighed contently as he made his way through the busy festival crowd, finding the whole situation a little bit overwhelming but in an oddly peaceful sort of way. Why couldn't more days be like this? No crime for him to stop. No villains to fight. Nobody to save. Not to say that Sora resented his job as a hero; far from it. But when it took up so much of his time most days, it was nice to take a moment to just relax and enjoy the peace he helped to maintain. On this day the young hero was wearing a black tank top with a pair of faded grey jeans and black & green shoes on his feet, a simple white cotton jacket tied around his waist as he wandered the stalls and games that were put out on the street. The charm necklace he normally wore was instead wrapped around his wrist, not wanting to tuck it under his shirt today like he normally did since it wasn't as loose as most of his shirts were. For the past while now he had just been wandering the festival, no particular goal or destination in mind besides to enjoy himself. It was nice to not have to have a plan for everything for once, after all. But as Sora's eyes scanned the various points of interest strewn about, they caught sight of a newly familiar head of pink hair, with a flash of blue just below. He stopped looking around and instead turned to focus on what, or rather, who, he had seen, and his face split into a smile as he confirmed his suspicions; there, staring back at him, was May! What a nice surprise! The two of them had exchanged numbers after their lovely time on Greenery Day just a few days ago, but had yet to really take advantage of that. Sora being Sora, he felt a little awkward about initiating a conversation with someone... even through texts, apparently. However, seeing his new friend in person made for a much easier time in such a thing. "May, hi! Good to see you!" He said as he waved, making his way over to the girl with a laugh. "Man, I didn't expect to see you again so soon! How's it going?" He asked. Sora took a moment to look at his friend's change in clothing; it was certainly more sporty than her outfit when they had first met. Had she been exercising today? Come to think of it, he usually only wore the tanktop he was wearing at the moment when he was training. Not exactly his usual style. May Twenty-First

Sora simply gave Emilia a small nod when she managed to let out a thank you for his compliment, going on to admit to having had difficulties determining additional ways of using her power. He hummed thoughtfully; he could offer suggestions and ideas, but without seeing more of her Quirk in action it might wind up being stuff outside her reach; that would definitely be more discouraging, so for now he decided to hold off on voicing his opinions. Instead he offered a reassuring smile. "Experience breeds ingenuity; the more you come to grasp your limits and the nuances of your Quirk the more you'll be able to figure out. Of course, I'll try and help where I can as we train together."Emilia continued, explaining that she tended to rely more on her brute strength and resilience than technique or skill. But while she seemed embarrassed and unsure of herself, she nonetheless enthusiastically told him that she was up for whatever he had in mind. "That's the right attitude!" He commended her with a pleased laugh, thinking about how exactly they could begin. After thinking on her words, he nodded. "Well, by your own account, you say you aren't an especially skilled fighter, yes? I have some martial arts training; as I said before I'm no expert, but I do know proper form and how to take advantage of my strengths. I will admit that some of what I know won't be of use to you, as it's tied to my own Quirk, but I think we can get you started on your own path, so to speak. Does that sound agreeable?" He asked in his usual polite, friendly tone. Once he did, Sora stood up from his seat on the fallen tree and taking a few steps away from it, turning to face the hero student. "Personally, I think the best way to learn something is by seeing someone else do something, and then trying it for yourself. Learn by doing, and all that. Though I'm not sure how good a teacher I am of this sort of thing, I promise to try my best." He told her, waving his hand in the direction he had come from. The tree they had been practicing with before was suddenly sliced across its trunk in several places, splitting it into a series of disks. "For the first step of our training, I was thinking we could do with a way to test your reflexes. My idea was that, first, you would throw these disks at me, while I attempt to divert or destroy them before they hit me. Then I will do the same to you; I'll use my wind to guide them to you at various speeds and angles to see how well you can fend them off. If I see a way I think you can improve, I'll provide advice where I can. Plus I think this could help you practice something requiring more finesse and technique, when you're doing the throwing. Does that sound good to you?"If Emilia agreed, Sora would make his way to the opposite end of the clearing and turn to face her, ready to begin. Truthfully he wasn't sure his idea for training would be worth anything; it was just the first thing that came to mind, and it sounded good in his head as he thought of it. Hopefully Emilia could find some worth in such an exercise. Emilia Hall

"... and that's the end of the recording, Dericho." Spoke a woman sitting across from Sora, her own tone a bit shaky. Once word had reached him about a student of UAU being kidnapped, the young hero immediately volunteered to look into things. Those students were the future of Japan's hero community, and on top of that from what little he knew about the victim in this case, Olivia, she had never done anything even remotely close to deserving such a fate. He was approaching the island where Olivia was being held captive via a helicopter. Fortunately, the girl had managed to keep the phone call going for long enough that they could get a rough idea of where she was. He wasn't planning on wasting any time, only still in his seat so he knew as much as he could about what he was getting into with his current mission. "Have they made any demands yet?" He asked, lightly rubbing at the lens of his goggles as he prepared himself for his entry. The woman shook her head. "No, not yet. We're not sure if there's been some sort of issue or if they trying to see how desperate her family will get, or what. But as you could probably tell, time is pretty sensitive here."He nodded, understanding, and stood up as another man slid the door of the helicopter open. Sora pulled his goggles up to cover his eyes, the helicopter not bothering to stop on its path. He turned to the woman he had been talking to. "I'll be sure to contact you once I know the full situation or have the girl safe. Keep moving! I'll be fine from here." The woman barely had the time to acknowledge his instructions before Sora jumped out of the helicopter down towards the island, eyes shielded from the fierce winds of his descent by his goggles. The hero was under no illusion that his entrance would go unnoticed, but the real question was if the kidnappers would be able to stop him. A watchman spotted Sora and trained his gun on the descending figure, his aim centering just in time to see the intruder reach up to his chest to pull the chord on his parachute. The sail opened up and Sora began gliding down... straight towards the man?! He cursed under his breath and had trouble deciding whether to take aim or reach for his walkie talkie to report the incident, but as he looked up at the man he realized that he was approaching unusually fast; Sora was using his control over the wind to guide his parachute more precisely. Just before the guard could fire off a shot, Sora released his parachute and propelled himself forward with a powerful blast of wind, tackling into the criminal and bringing him to the ground. Sora quickly disarmed the man, throwing his gun into a nearby pond and stealing his walkie talkie as the parachute landed a few meters away. His hand was clutched over the man's mouth, his blue horns and the sharp glare of his green eyes making the normally friendly hero come across as much more threatening. "Your call-sign; now." He instructed in a quiet but commanding tone. "And tell me everything you can about this whole operation. Afterwards I'm going to restrain you out of sight. Make any more trouble for me, and this rescue operation's gonna get a whole lot messier. Blink slowly if you understand."Olivia Favager

Sora nodded as May asked about Aella, certain his sister would do whatever she could to help someone asking for pointers. "Oh yeah; Aella has always been the sort to help people who ask for it. She was a big help for me during my first year at UAU."It was then that she asked about the villain he had mentioned, Don Blood. Her comparison of his name to a vampire made him smile wryly. "It's not too far off from that, actually." He informed her. "Don Blood was the adoptive father of the sisters I told you about. And he was a fearsome criminal kingpin who had been active in New York for several decades. His Quirk was, in fact, basically a form of vampirism; he could drain the blood from people and had the ability to fly on bat-like wings. But the worst part is that he could temporarily wield the Quirk of anyone whose blood he stole."Sora crossed his arms as he thought back to that battle. "He sought out people with powerful abilities and would capture and imprison them, keeping them alive so he could have access to their quirks whenever he needed." A mental flash and Sora could see the cages that had lined the room where Blood had locked away those he had kidnapped, as clearly as if he were there again right now. "He was a twisted man. Only cared about expanding his reach and influence. I think his Quirk was like a drug to him; he was addicted to acquiring new powers."It was clear from Sora's words that Don Blood was no longer among the living. His death and the fall of his empire was pretty big news in the United States for a good while, though the specific details about what killed him were largely a mystery... for all but Sora and the sisters, at least. The final stage of their battle had taken place away from prying eyes. And while he was fine with talking about the whole deal, that particular detail was one he preferred to avoid thinking about. It was Sora's turn to listen with rapt attention, however, as May explained to him the origins of her name and how she got to be here today. Vaguely Sora did recall reading news a long time ago about a girl being discovered. The fact that she was here beside him, and that they had just been chatting for so long, was almost dumbfounding. He couldn't even begin to imagine how strange and unnerving it would be; to wake up in a world over twenty years after what you were accustomed to. Just two years in America had made his home of Japan a borderline roller coaster since he returned. For May, it must have been like stepping out into another world. "I can't begin to imagine what that must have been like for you..." He told her, voicing his thoughts out loud. He wondered what she might have made of her life had she continued living in her original time. Would she have still wanted to be a hero? Or taken to a more mundane life? Would she be as cheerful and positive as she was now? Among all the thoughts to that effect, however, one was at the forefront of the young hero's mind. He smiled at his new friend. "...but for what it's worth, I'll count myself lucky that it gave us a chance to meet. Probably wouldn't have otherwise." He told her. Maybe it was a bit of a selfish thing to say, but it was the truth. He had come out to the park today with the intent to just enjoy some peace and quiet on his own. Instead he had spent it getting to know a fascinating young woman who had led a life he could scarcely comprehend. May considered how his Quirk had developed and admitted an interest in seeing his power in action for real. He laughed a bit at this. "I'd be happy to demonstrate, but uh... we'd need a big, empty space." He noted, scratching his cheek. "I don't know my exact limit, but I do know I can at least generate wind stronger than any ever recorded on Earth. So... probably not something to try in town, heh." He tilted his head curiously, thinking about what she said. "I wonder how a Quirk such as yours could evolve? Perhaps alternative ways to manifest your power, or maybe allow you to use it for things other than attacking?" Talking about Quirks was a good way to get Sora geeking out a bit; he loved discussing the potential and capabilities of different powers. To his delight, May seemed appreciative of how he interpreted the way her Quirk worked. She continued to confirm that she shared his view on her power, picking up the picture that she had taken of them earlier and presenting it to him. He took it in his hands carefully and looked at the two of them, holding their cups of tea and smiling. He couldn't help but smile again, chuckling at how awkward his smile in the picture looked. "I'm just sorry this is the picture you have of me!" He joked, honestly loving how it looked. It was very... natural. Very them. She assured him that he was definitely making his friend proud, and he smiled and gave a small nod. "Thanks. I hope so." He responded simply. Though her comment about how they were alike made him hum contemplatively, the thought rather comforting. "Yeah. I guess we are."Her blushing and accusation of trying to embarrass her brought a confused head tilt from the pro as he collected his things, offering May one more cookie before closing the tin. "I just say what comes to mind, is all." He assured her, having not been trying to do anything with what he said. There was a brief pause before she spoke again, offering to exchange numbers. The prospect of meeting up with her again, be it for sharing advice or just hanging out again, was certainly an enticing one. And so, when she tilted her own head uncertainly, he smiled and nodded. "I'd love to exchange numbers! Feel free to call me whenever and I'll pick up as soon as I can." He assured her, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone to do just that. Sora told his new friend his personal number, opening up a new contact in his phone and typing in the girl's name as he awaited her own number. A thought occurred to him as he looked at the new contact page. "Ah, would you mind if I take a picture of you for your contact page? It's okay if not. Just thought I would ask!" Picture or not, a friend was a friend after all. And he couldn't wait to see his new friend again. New Contact Added

Sora laughed as May said she would email his sister. "Careful if you do; Aella's not the type to cut it at some advice and pointers." He warned her, half joking and half serious. His sister was a great person and hero, but definitely the nosy sort. The second something or someone caught her attention it would get her full attention until she was satisfied with the results. Her musings about the sisters he helped touched Sora, and while he wouldn't deny he made a difference in their lives he wasn't sure he deserved so much credit for it. "They deserve plenty of the credit too. I wouldn't have managed to take down Don Blood without their help and information; it takes insane courage to stand up to someone like that who's been in your life since you were born... well, I assume." He trailed off. He couldn't speak for their experiences, and the closest thing to such an experience was the time he met his old friend, years after thinking she had died in that fire when they were kids... May wasn't finished however, comparing his keeping in touch with the sisters with how she kept in contact with an officer who... wait, what was it she said? "A makeshift prison?" He repeated curiously, wondering what she had meant. Had she been the victim of some sort of kidnapping in the past? He wanted to ask, but between them still having just met and the sheepish way she apologized for bringing it up, Sora got the feeling it wasn't exactly something she was eager to talk about. So instead he smiled and shook his head. "It's okay, May. I think I get what you mean." He assured her, also finishing off his own tea after saying so. She continued to insist on her being a dork rather than a lovely lady, and he chuckled quietly. He wasn't sure if she was just joking some more or really didn't think of herself in such a way, but she was certainly right about some of the things she said. "Well, you're not wrong about that." He conceded with a quick wink as he followed her lead, standing up from the ground and lightly dusting off his pants. May explained some more about her uncle, clearly fond of the man if occasionally annoyed by the things he did. But hey, that was family right? The young woman asked about the particulars of his quirk changing, and he nodded. "Well, originally, I believed my quirk just allowed me to breath in and out at superhuman strength. Super breath, basically. But as it turns out that was something of a mental block on myself; I thought it was all I could do, so it was. But in actuality, as I demonstrated to you earlier, I can manipulate the wind itself, even if it doesn't originate from me. Once I realized that, my battle... well, I won't say it was easy. But it didn't last much longer."Sora did not miss the way that May tensed up when he asked her about her Quirk, which immediately concerned him. He knew that many people disliked their powers and the effects they had on their lives; had he avoided one sensitive subject with her "makeshift prison" and wandered right into another? Her posture relaxed moments later, and were it not so different from how she had behaved thus far he might have thought he was just imagining things. Still she did answer his question, explaining how her power required her bow to use properly but rolling up her sleeve to show a shifting tattoo. Ah, so that was what he had seen earlier! May explained the nature of her Quirk, and Sora crossed his arms and rested his chin on his hand as he took it all in. So her life force itself served as a sort of ammo for her power. Or maybe a better analogy would be like the gunpowder of a gun, rather than the bullet. He wasn't quite sure, but it was certainly... interesting. She admitted to knowing how dangerous it sounded, but the soft smile and tone to her voice as she reflected on how she liked to see it got him thinking. It seemed she had long since made peace with the nature of her power. Sora stepped over to stand beside May as she looked out over the pond, hands clasped behind his back as he took in the gentle breeze and scent of the water before he spoke. "I think that's a beautiful way of looking at it." He told her, turning to the young woman with an easy, genuine smile. "All heroes... no, everyone in the world, devotes their time and life towards something. Learning a trade. Athletics. Reading. Writing. Or even just doing nothing."He closed his eyes for a moment, unsure himself if it was to let her process his words or if it was to work up the nerve to say what he had in mind next. "And heroics. Your Quirk is just a bit more... literal, I suppose. It's like every time you use your Quirk, you're putting a little part of what you're fighting for into it, right? Enjoying a nice meal, seeing happy kids playing, giving a sad girl a flower... drinking tea with a near stranger?" He gave another soft chuckle, shrugging slightly as he looked out over the pond again. After a moment, Sora reached into his shirt and pulled out his charm necklace, holding it out for May to see and pointing to each trinket as he spoke. "All of these charms here represent someone who means a lot to me. My mom, the hero who inspired me to become one. My dad, who was always ready to coach and train me. My sister with her endless support. My friend who... well, I hope I'm making her proud." He sniffled a little at this part, but he recovered quickly. "It's just a piece of jewelry, but having it with me gives me strength."Sora smiled at her again. "So you making the most of every moment... that's your strength. At least, that's how I see it. I can understand why you said your family might be concerned. Well, maybe I can't, exactly. But I do know that, that resolve pf yours? The resolve to use your life to make others' better?that is the stuff heroes are made of." May Twenty-First

Sora nodded when May noted her desire to look into heroism in the USA, respecting her curiosity. ”Well when you do check it out, see if you can find anything on a modern hero named Zip Hop; that’s my sister. And my dad used to work as a hero support specialist back before he moved to Japan to be with my mom.” He explained, proud of his family’s legacy. His mother was also a former top hero before she retired once she went partially deaf, but they were talking about America for the moment. He blushed a bit as she insisted on her compliment, taking a moment to grab another one of her sour snacks for himself. May asked if he kept in contact with the sisters, and he nodded. ”Ah, yeah. I do! Well, two of them. I haven’t had a chance to talk to the oldest since everything happened, but her sisters tell me she’s doing well. I’ve actually worked with one of them a few times since then; she’s decided to work with heroes to make up for the times she had to help her dad. The youngest I believe just started college. She’s actually expressed an interest in working with me once her schooling’s done since she thinks her Quirk could be super helpful, but her sisters are reluctant to let her get too involved in hero stuff. Not that I can blame them, though. Hope they find a way that makes everyone happy.”She joked about how she could wind up being really bad, and though he chuckled he just shook his head. No, he had a good feeling about her chances. At the comment about his time, Sora shrugged. ”True, I do spend a lot of my time on duty. But at the moment, I’m not a hero. Just a guy enjoying a beautiful day with an equally lovely lady. And it’s the fact that my work helps make moments like this… little moments of just peace and tranquility… that’s the time I value; the time my hero work allows to be so nice. If that makes any sense, heh.” He hadn’t batted an eye at making his compliment to her; on some level it was because he was caught up in answering her question, but it was also that he saw such a thing as more a statement of fact than anything. As she tossed one in the air for herself and mentioned both of them choking he laughed. ”Not exactly the sort of common ground most connections are made of, is it?” He joked back as he shook his head in amusement. May’s face as she explained her uncle’s position amused him, though he had trouble imagining what it would be like to have a family member as a teacher at school. Attending UAU with his sister for a time was odd enough. ”I can’t picture seeing anyone of my family at the head of a classroom I’m in.”The student resolved to search up his name when she got the chance, which made him a bit embarrassed. He was only really involved in two major cases thus far in his career, both back in America. He doubted she’d be able to find much. But May explained her own hero name, Artemis, and the reasoning behind it before asking him his own. He blinked. “Artemis! I like it! And archery is an interesting skill! Can’t say I know much about it, though. I’ve done some target practice with a blow gun but that’s it. And as for my name… well, a “derecho” is a line of intense and fast-moving wind. Like a directional storm; honestly it doesn’t match my powers anymore. But back before I moved to America, I actually thought my Quirk just gave me super strong breath. It wasn’t until a case in America pushed me to my limits that I discovered the full capacity of my Quirk; actually it was the case involving the sisters we were talking about a minute ago. And well… I like the way the name “Jericho” sounds, so I just altered the spelling a little bit. Hehe. But even though it doesn’t really fit my power anymore, I guess I’m just kind of attached to it.”Sora glanced over at May as he saw her move out the corner of his eye and saw how she was standing up, and immediately he sat up so that he wasn’t so far below her; he didn’t want to seem like he was trying to catch a glimpse of anything, after all. As she asked her question, however, something she said caught his attention. He looked up at the girl. “Actually, now that you mentioned it, I never asked you what your Quirk is! You said that it involves your bow?” He asked, curiosity clear in his tone. May Twenty-First

Sora smiled and nodded in agreement as May noted her own fondness for the older style of camera and its product, her analogy of it being like a memory making a lot of sense to him. She placed the camera on her lap as she took another sip of her tea, listening to him talk about his time spent in America. At the question of payment, and considered what she had wondered. "I never really thought about the difference in pay too much, but I do think heroes in America tend to focus entirely on their heroism. At least, they usually did while I was living there."May admitted her own feelings about the way heroes were looked at, and about how impressive she thought it was that so many heroes went about their life-threatening work with smiles to keep people at ease. He nodded again, looking up at the sun through the gaps in the leaves above. "Yeah, definitely. I spoke with an agent in America who thought I could get really popular if I went for a serious, no-nonsense attitude. But I think being more relaxed and letting my own weirdness through works better for me; like you said, heroes should offer reassurance and hope to the people around them; I think being a bit less "grand" helps me be more approachable for civilians. I want people who see me out on patrol to know they can just ask me if they need help, you know?"Sora paused to take a drink of his tea, only for May's sudden compliment to catch him off guard. Now it was his turn to choke for a second, coughing after he managed to put his tea down without spilling it. Between May's compliment, her giggle, and his near-death experience, Sora's face burned red in embarrassment. "Ack... y-you sure about that?" He asked once he finally stopped coughing, feeling like any possibility of him being "cool" had just flown out the window. The hero student noted that he reminded her a bit of her uncle, regarding his opinion on the media. Sora rubbed the back of his neck. "Ah, yeah. I've never been good at the whole image aspect of being a hero. My sister's a real pro at that sort of stuff; she loves to make public appearances and use her reputation to get support for different causes. Tried to teach me, but I think that's one area of heroism I'm pretty doomed in."May smiled her brilliant, infectious smile as he recounted the story of the three girls he had helped save, pointing out how much of a difference he had made in their lives and what it must feel like. He couldn't help but return the smile; she was basically right on all counts. "Yeah... it's nice. Strange, but nice." He admitted. "And I'm sure you'll impact plenty of people just like that."She went on to share a bit about her experience at school thus far, admitting to falling behind her classmates and confessing that her family was trying to convince her to take up a different path. But Sora could see the determination in her eyes as she gave that smile, and he quietly chuckled. "You've certainly got the perfect attitude for heroism," He assured her. "So long as you keep up that dedication, things'll work out. Maybe not immediately, but I'm sure you'll get there."May stretched as she finished off the cookie she had taken from his tin, musing about the fact that she was talking to an actual pro hero and thanking him for his time. Sora smiled a bit, but then laid down on the grass beside May with his hands behind his head. "My time's no more valuable than yours. Today I'm just Sora Nakoma, bringer of cookies and choker of tea. I'm enjoying myself as well, May! So thank you, too." He said, looking up at her from his place on the ground. Sora closed his eyes for a minute, just enjoying the easy day and his wonderful company. And when he opened them, he hummed contently. "So you said your uncle was a hero, right? And now he's a teacher? Does he teach at a hero school or a normal one?" He asked curiously. It felt odd that he had hardly asked anything of May when she was asking him so many things. It was apparently how he was paying her back for buying his tea, but he liked to keep things even. "Ah, what is your hero name, if you don't mind me asking? Have you picked one out yet? Dericho is what I go by."May Twenty-First

Sora managed a small smile despite the circumstances as the mother and daughter were reunited, handing the girl to her parent so he could focus more on keeping them protected. Fortunately Kazashi heard his call for assistance, rushing to just below the window as she spoke back to him. The pair both looked nervous at the exchange between the two heroes, the idea of jumping out of the burning building not much more enticing than the idea of staying inside it. He looked back at them and placed his hand on the mother's shoulder, offering her a reassuring smile. "Ma'am, don't worry. I promise that the two of you will be fine; you can trust me and my friend on that." He told her. A thought occurred to him as he saw how scared the little girl was, and after a moment Sora reached down in his shirt and pulled his charm necklace off of himself, holding it out to her. "Hold this, Little Miss! It's a special necklace; whenever I'm scared, holding this makes me feel better. But you have to promise to return it once we're all safe, okay? It's really important to me."The girl sniffled and nodded slowly, very carefully taking it in her little hands and staring at the silver charms that adorned it. Sora smiled, and exchanged a nod with the mother. "Okay. I'm going to slow you guys down so you'll be fine; even more fine than just with my friend catching you." He instructed them, guiding the mother to the window as she held her daughter closely. Sora concentrated on the wind around them, and those below would be able to tell something was going on as he gently churned the air into a soft spiral, as a way of slowing the pair's descent and cushioning their landing. "Three. Two. One... go!" Sora timed them, and as he gave the order the mother jumped out of the window in the direction of Kazashi. Just as Dericho had promised the wind almost seemed to wrap around them, slowing down their fall significantly and directing them towards the waiting heroine below. Once the family was safely on the ground, Apparel called up to him as the firefighters arrived. She offered him help if it was needed, but Sora shook his head. "I think that's everyone! I don't hear anybody else." He responded, looking back into the building to be sure. The fires were dying down, thanks to his earlier efforts and the work of the firefighters, so he was pretty confident that they were in the clear. Nodding as he thought this, Sora turned back to his friend below. "I'm coming down! Wanna catch me too?" He said as a joke, hoping to reassure those around that everything was alright. He hardly waited for a response in any case, hopping out through the window and slowing his own descent just as he had for the mother and daughter. Kazashi McCoy

Sora smiled as May complimented the name of his Quirk, feeling a bit proud, before nodding as she noted his time spent in America. When she admitted that he seemed more the dorky type than a troublemaker, he couldn’t help but chuckle as she confidently backpedaled in an effort to assure him that she wasn’t trying to insult him. “Well you said it yourself; dorks are endearing, right?”[/font] He asked, recalling her earlier statement. ”And I think that’s certainly accurate so far as you’re concerned, Ms. May.” He smiled as he teased her back a bit. May didn’t even spare him a second glance when he asked if his pose for the picture was okay, before giving her little instructions and taking the picture. ”Deoxyribonucleic acid!” Sora recited without a hint of irony, laughing again once she took the picture with her old camera. He watched as she turned the photo away from the sun. “We’ve got a few cameras like that at my dad’s store.” He noted, a touch of nostalgia tinging his words. ”There’s a certain graininess to them that I like. Not sure if that’s actually the right term, though. Not much of a photographer myself, heh.” Sora rubbed the back of his head a bit sheepishly as May gave him a bit more space before starting to question him about his time in America. He considered her first few questions. “Hm… well, for one thing, I think back in America heroes have a bit more free reign on how to deal with things at their own discretion. It’s also a bit less… not sure what a good way to put it is. Maybe… publicized? Obviously there’s still news stories and interviews and stuff like that. But generally speaking I didn’t see many heroes taking other jobs on top of their hero work there as I do here; me personally, I have no form of employment besides my hero work.”May then asked what it was like to be a pro, and he thought. Sora took a few moments to sip at his tea while gathering his thoughts. ”It’s… not too unlike what your uncle says. Heroes have a lot of expectations and pressure on them; we’re expected to keep people safe and be inspiring while doing it. People want heroes to be the sorts of people they can see and go ‘Wow, that person’s so cool! I wanna be like that’, and such things. At times it feels kinda like everyone’s watching me, even when I’m off duty and even after I came back to Japan, despite not a lot of people here knowing me.”Sora closed his eyes and leaned back a bit, feeling the gentle breeze as he rested against the tree. As he paused May began to hack as she choked on her tea. While she played it off with a cute giggle, he still reached over and gently rubbed her back. It was something that helped him when such things happen. The cheery girl dug through her bag and pulled out some candies, offering some to the young pro, who smiled and nodded, reaching into the bag to take one. ”Ah, thank you. Are you alright?” He said. Sora reached into hs own bag and pulled out a small tin, opening it to reveal a variety of cookies. He placed it next to May’s bag of candy, nodding towards it to tell her he was happy to share. He ate the sour candy he had taken, and for a moment his mouth clenched at the taste. It wasn’t bad at all, but Sora didn’t eat many sour things so it caught him a little off guard. Still he laughed at his own reaction, shrugging it off and licking his lips a bit where some of the taste still lingered. What else to say? Oh, there was something! “But the media is honestly a small part of hero work… at least, in my opinion. I don’t do much networking or the like, so my reputation mostly grew through word of mouth and what I did. All the attention in the world doesn’t measure up to how good it feels to help people in need.”Sora reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, taking a moment to dig through the pictures until he found one to show May. In the picture he was with three blonde girls, each of the trio dressed like witches. ”These girls were adopted by a villain I fought with named Don Blood when they were little, so they grew up around his criminal activities. As they got oldes he made them assist in his plans, or else he’d hurt the youngest sister. But thanks to the heroes of New York, they’re free now and making something of themselves. One’s a musician working on her first album. The middle child decided to continue helping heroes after she got us the info on how to track down Blood. And the youngest is attending school to try and make up for lost time.”He closed the phone after giving May time to look at the picture, sighing contently. “Being a hero is hard, no doubt. But knowing I can help people like them, and stopping people like Don Blood… it’s the best feeling in the world.”He looked out over the pond, following the girl’s gaze as she did the same. ”Although this feels pretty close.” He said quietly, half-joking; it truly was a beautiful day, and the company he was keeping only improved it further. Sora glanced back at May, reaching down towards her bag for another piece of candy. ”What about you, May?” He asked, curious about her after talking so much about himself. ”How do you feel about your time spent at UAU so far?”

Sora nodded with a quiet hum as Taka confirmed his thought about his size, not surprised that he had been right on the money with his expectations. After the boy's words he took a moment to prepare himself, noting that he hoped not to disappoint. Sora offered him a smile. "So long as you give it your best shot, there's no concern with that happening." He assured the student in a genuine tone. There was but a few short moments before Yasashi made his move, charging directly for the smaller hero with all the ferocity and strength of a rampaging bull. "Fairly direct." Sora thought to himself, his expression showing no signs of concern despite his "opponent's" size and speed. But as the trainee approached, Sora pulled one of his hands back before thrusting it towards the giant. Suddenly a powerful, howling gale cut through the air towards Yasashi, the harsh wind slowing him down as it moved in opposition to his charge. The hero wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation, stepping to Taka's side with the aim to grab his arm before kicking at the back of his knee in an attempt to bring him to the ground, a more localized blast of wind propelling his leg into his target with more force than he could normally manage, though he wasn't striking with all his power since this was just a sparring match. Through his own strength alone such a tactic likely wouldn't work, but combined with the power of his wind he was more confident. Sora's fighting style made use of his wind manipulation to enhance and supplement his regular martial arts, hoping to bridge the gap between himself and more technically skilled or physically powerful opponents. Sora waited patiently as Emi worked up the nerve to start explaining her Quirk, offering her a friendly smile as she took a breath to steady herself in the hopes it would ease her tension. Sora didn't consider himself a particularly imposing person, and he tried to be approachable as a hero. Once she did begin, he watched with great interest as she spoke, demonstrating her power in the process as she lifted and set down the tree, before smashing into it with a single powerful blow. When Emi held her hand up to show how much it improved her durability, Sora leaned a bit closer to get a good look at her hand and examine it, staring intently. He fought the urge to grab her hand for his inspection, knowing how rude and "forward" such a thing would be despite his curiosity. Once he had finished looking he stood up straight and smiled again. "I see! That's a very nice power! Strength and durability can seem simple to someone outside looking in, but it's a potent combination and surprisingly flexible." He scratched his chin as he thought for a moment, sitting down on one of the halves of the unfortunate tree they had been using for their respective demonstrations. He leaned forward and rested his hands in his lap. "So, is there any area in particular you would like to improve on or work on, Emi-san?" He asked, wanting her to set the pace of the training since he had offered to help her in the first place. "Perhaps a way I could use my Quirk to help you with yours? Or we could just do sparring, if you prefer. I'm no master martial artist and I'm certainly not as strong as you, but I can handle myself in a fight well enough, if I do say so myself."Emilia Hall

Sora took note of the appearance of the man who welcomed him into the shop, introducing himself as Damian, the owner. He moved with a practiced ease as he stepped out from behind the counter, revealing the full extent of how his Quirk affected his form. Sora smiled as he approached, nodding as he removed his sunglasses and stowed them away in his jacket pocket. He held his hand out to offer a shake, though he'd take no offense if the man declined. "Nice to meet you Damian, and what a nice shop it is! You can call me Sora. I was out on a walk could catch the scent of tea from a good distance away, heh."
When prompted with his options for seating, he gave it a moment of consideration before deciding to take a spot at the bar. He was normally one to prefer tables, but seeing as he was the only customer at the moment he opted for the tall stool instead. No need to make the owner walk any more than necessary, right? Damian offered him the choice of coffee or tea, and it didn't take long for Sora to pick; after all, it was what drew him to the Bovine in the first place! "I think I'll take you up on the tea of the day! I've been looking for a new tea place ever since I got back to Japan!" He told the friendly shopkeeper as he took his seat, looking around at the cozy decor and listening to the relaxing music. "So how long have you been here, Damian?"damian
