I know this is super last minute, but my dad surprised me with a visit in town and all my other friends are busy, wanna hand out at a history museum today? Jun was already off campus and on her way to the venue in question, and already she was processing the events that lead to this moment. She had gone through her morning routine, and by seven had made it back to her dorm. Checking her phone, she was met with a surprise: a message from her dad saying he was going to be in Tokyo for the day and that he was inviting her and Kaida out for a day of fun. Having not seen him since the last Obon Jun was absolutely ecstatic! Unfortunately Kaida wasn't answering her phone, and messaging Yaoyao found that she was busy with work. Having gotten herself together and out the door, she didn't want to see that other ticket go to waste; who knew how much her dad had spent on that? Well, she knew, but she still didn't want to see it squandered. So she fired off an offer to Miroru to gauge her thoughts and feelings on the matter before debating who else she could ask. Miroru

"History museum?"

Miroru made a bit of a face. History museums weren't... AWFUL... but they tended to be kinda dry. Science museums had a tendency to have hands-on stuff, art museums could be enjoyed entirely at one's own pace, but history museums tended to have, like. Corollary stuff you had to read to understand the significance of the items on display.

But Junsuina was her senpai, her friend, and she didn't-

Wait. All her other friends?!

Miroru puffed her cheeks out, weighing the implications. First implication, she WAS an acknowledged friend, and that was awesome! On the other hand... she tried everyone else first?!

Eh, it was fine. They were still pretty new friends.

[Definitely! Gimme the address and I'll make sure I'm there when you are!]

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun has to rush out the door to meet with him first and foremost. Looking over his message again, she figured out what museum this was exactly! It was one she never had the chance to visit, and as she started to make her way to the bus stop she got a message back from Miroru saying she was on board. That was great, too! She sent her the museum in question and directions to it, and after a bit of time caught the bus going in that direction. Once Miroru got there she would find Jun locked in the strangest staring contest right outside the museum with another man. He was tall, leaning more on the scrawny side, and their gazes were intense. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Finally, he struck a pose and pointed at Jun. "Six fours, all at your squad on the ridge! I activate rapid fire, your marines are toast!" If this were an anime and Jun wore glasses, this would be the moment she pushed them up before pointing back, a confident smirk on her face. "You failed your spot check, and my bloodletters ambush your squad. All hits, twenty-six damage in total. Your squad's skulls will make excellent additions to the Skull Throne!" The man finally broke eye contact, his shoulders slumping as he faked a sob. "I taught you this game, how did you get so much better at it than me!" Miroru

Miroru chose to make her own way across town rather than take the bus or train. This had a couple advantages, and a couple downsides. For one, she was moving entirely under her own power, so it certainly wasn't as effortless as taking a seat on the train. More importantly, though, she got to travel as the crow flies without any consideration for traffic, stops, or obstructions for the most part.

Primarily because she was running right above the rooftops.

Before too long, Miroru got close enough to skip down to street level and take a break to catch her breath and fix her hair, determined to make a good impression on Jun's family- only to arrive to that peculiar standoff and the terminology that was clearly some sort of mental wargame she had no context for.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey, guyyyyyyyyyys," she forced out as she approached, doing her damnedest not to make it any more awkward than necessary. "How goes the, uh... mental warfare..?"

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun paused, turning to look at Miroru. "Oh...OH! Uh, Hi!" Her face had turned a bright red as she held up her hands, waving them back and forth. "Uh, this is...Miroru, this is my father, Kazuto Kanjo." Almost like a switch the man's face went blank, offering a short and polite bow. "Dad, this is Miroru. She's one of the first years of the hero department, and we've done a bit of training together." "Miss Miroru," he says, appraising her for a moment. "Thank you for coming out. Ever since Jun-bug went away to college-" "DAD!" A wry smile crossed the man's face, walking over to pat Jun on the head. "Can a father be happy that his little girl is making new friends all the time? I'm proud of you!" He turned to Miroru, his demeanor open as he indicated the entrance. "I'm sorry you had to see that spectacle, I've been playing 80k for a long time and we don't get to fling models at each other like we used to. How about we head inside?" Miroru

"Hajimemashite, Kanjo-san~" Miroru stated, dipping in a perfect, polite little bow of greeting. "You're welcome! I'm happy to be here! And you SHOULD be proud! Why, little Jun-bug had a whole LIST of friends she went through before she asked me~ but you know how it is, there's so many demands on time and energy, everyone else was occupied -just- right now." There wasn't any sass in Miroru's tone, just a gentle tease that she'd noticed she'd been at the end of that list, turned into a bolstering pat on the back for her father's delight in her social life and a prod at her nickname all at once.

"Oh, no! Please, don't apologize. It's the sort of thing I think I'd have adored, if my family had had much in the way of time for me. What with my older brothers taking up all my dad's time, though, it just wasn't in the cards, you know?" Her tone was couched carefully to keep things light. The comments were sincere, but she also didn't want to delve into any pity or such silliness on a happy occasion such as this one!

"So! I haven't been to this museum before! Is there a particular display we're hoping to see this afternoon~?"

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Kazuto raised an eyebrow, looking at Jun with intense curiosity. "A whole list, you say? You've made more friends outside of Kaida and Ana?" "Well, there's Yaoyao, too, Dad...you forgot her..." "Oh! You're right, I did!" He brings a hand up, thinking for a moment. "So there's more than those three? Wow, you must be real popular!" "Daaad!" Jun crossed her arms, sighing. As they moved in Kazuto glanced over at Miroru, a worried expression present as she explained some of her family history. Nothing that made him say anything, but the words must have been foreign to him. The next question did get him to change direction just a bit. "Ah, there's some paintings that went on tour in America that are finally getting displayed again! A return home, if you will. I wanted to inspect the brushwork on them, not to mention there are some old plane parts that were discovered some time ago. Apparently they were some experimental frames during the war that got dredged up. I couldn't find a lot of information on them online, so I wanted to see them for myself!" Miroru

Miroru paced along, feeling particularly proud of herself for both building up her dad's esteem a bit and for the little prank built in as a treat for herself. "See? I've never even met Ana or Yaoyao! How come I don't get to meet all your cool friends, Jun-senpai? Is it the ears?!" Of course it wasn't, and there was no indication she thought for a second that it was.

As for that worried expression, Miroru patently ignored it. Slandering her dad beyond implying he had better things to do would do her no good until she had a platform as powerful as his to buy the belief of the people. "Oh, is that so? I'd love to see them, then! I've never thought to like.. study the brushwork, but I suppose if I was a painter, the idea would have occurred to me. Does that make you an artist, Kanjo-san?" As for experimental plane parts? Miroru immediately cooed in excitement. "That sounds super interesting... I'm kind of a hobbyist inventor myself, as it happens! Maybe I'll get inspired!"

I'm just busy all the time, and well, I don't get the opportunity to hang out with more than one person at a time and...and..." she trailed off, shoulders slumping for a moment before her father patted her on the back. "Now, now, I'm sure if you figure out a way you can spend time with everyone," he says, looking back over to Miroru. "Of a sort. I've tried all kinds of painting since I was a kid, but doing anything professional was out of the question and even as an amateur I wasn't very good. It's why I stuck with model kits and testing what I could do there. I've gotten pretty good at that, but I still enjoy looking at actual paintings to see how I can learn an improve!" "I didn't know you were an inventor," Jun says, tilting her head at Miroru as her father went to go take care of the tickets. The inside of the museum had a traditional feel about it in the lobby, but it was clear that beyond it there were several exhibits pointing to different times in Japan's history. "So...hm. think we should check out the plane things first?" Miroru
