Meara could not believe just how sgite her luck was. She had just started to get a feel for her new home when she got roped into what was turning out to be a decent sized operation. “Ain’t this a flippin turn of events. Not even a month off the jet and UAU is already asking me to hop on it and start doling out ‘Justice’ and fight bad guys.” Meara muttered under her breath as she turned another corner. She had been separated from her pro that was supposed to be showing her the ropes as well as acting as her translator. But there had been a big ass mutant looking creature that quite literally brought the building down on top of them and caused her to fall through the floor and deposit her into this underground labyrinth. “God damn it!” The young Irish heroine cursed as she walked around another corner to nowhere. She was becoming more and more agitated by all these winding turns and dead ends that caused her to retrace her steps and take a different path. Meara had been trained in tracking and navigation in the military but that was more for urban and typical wilderness like mountains and forests, not bloody cave systems. “Damn it I could really use you right now Dylan… you were way better at this.” She thought as she continued down her latest path.
Meara was lost in that thought about her dead twin brother when she stumbled upon an open cavern that was riddled with crystal formations. As soon as she stepped past the threshold of the cavern she was swarmed by a pair of these giant polka dotted beetles that went right for her head. She just managed to duck out of the way and she felt the familiar sensation of her quirk activate as her body was quickly engulfed by what from a distance looked like Liquid Metal but was in fact trillions of microscopic nanomachines that formed a power suit around Meara’s body. Meara's right arm had transformed into a cannon and taking aim she launched a grapefruit sized sphere of searing plasma at the first big she saw. The plasma splashed over the body of the beetle and sent it crashing into the wall as it’s hard shell was quickly eaten away by the white hot plasma. The second one lunged at her now armored head but thanks to her quirk it just bounced off of her with minimal damage. With her left hand she grabbed ahold of the insect and slammed it against the wall before blasting it point blank with her cannon. “I hate bloody bugs.” She spat as the partially incinerated creature fell limply to the ground.
Meara turned around as she heard someone yelling before quickly being silenced. That was when she saw it, one of these bugs had literally bit a guy's head off, and she froze in place. The image of what she could only assume was a hero lying lifelessly in a growing pool of crimson sent her brain into a spiral as images of her last mission flashed through her mind. Her breathing became quick and shallow as she failed to realize that the bug that had eaten the poor bloke’s head had transformed into a strange fluffy creature. She also failed to recognize in time to see electricity sparking between its horns as well as a figure who was hanging on a crystal on the ceiling yelling out a warning to her. She looked at the creature as an arrow of electricity was launched at her, striking her in her chest. Meara let out a pained scream as her body was wracked by the electricity, feeling it course through her entire body, a healthy number of her nanites throughout her body. She dropped to a knee as her body locked up on her, residual electricity arcing from her form. “Shite that hurt.” She said as her HUD was filled with static momentarily. “I F*****g hate electricity.” She groaned as she finally felt her body relax enough for her to stand up.
TLDR; Meara dispatches two of the nomu insects that came after her with her plasma cannon. Upon seeing the dead hero’s corpse she has a mild panic attack as her ptsd causes images of her last mission with her squad causes her to freeze. Due to this she is unable to react to Elisha’s warning and takes a direct hit from the electricity. Meara and electricity do not mix well.

Meara was out on a morning jog around the city. It was a slow jog and Meara was enjoying the cool morning air., she had been up for a couple hours at this point and was using this beautiful morning as an opportunity to get herself more familiar with the city as well as continuing to improve her running ability. There were very few people out and about this time of the morning so Meara didn’t have to worry about large crowds of people. She was wearing her old SAS PT gear and was listening to her normal mix of hard rock and metal music as she turned down a small hill towards Tokyo harbor. She continued down the hill till she made it to a dilapidated shipyard, once there she stopped and checked her heart rate and the time of the jog as she leaned against a rusted steel beam.
As she looked out at the harbor she heard the sounds of metal being moved and slammed. Taking her headphones off she followed the noise till she found the source. The source being a mountain of a person using old cranes and cargo containers as a makeshift gym. “That’s one hell of a fashion statement.” She thought as she walked towards the man. “Hey mate, you know most gyms these days make accommodations for high strength individuals.” Meara called out to the man. Meara was impressed by the strength of the man, not many people she had met were able to perform such a strength feat. “Though I have to commend you on the ingenuity.” She commented as she continued to watch the man lift.

Meara is a complicated individual to say the least. She has always had a brash and headstrong personality that always lead her getting into verbal and physical fights, which she was always happy to participate in. Another leading cause for her getting into confrontations is that she is a very protective individual, especially when it came to Dylan. After Dylan’s death Meara has been trying to do right by her brother and adopt a more calm and level headed attitude. But that’s still a work in progress. Meara also would get diagnosed with PTSD if she actually went to her psych appointments. Most of the symptoms manifest at night when she’s dreaming. And they’re always the same dream, flashing memories of that mission and that same voice from that day taunting her about how she was weak then and still is too weak to save anyone. Her pale skin perfectly compliments her muscular frame, a frame that could be compared to professional bodybuilders. She has long blonde hair that runs down to her lower back and she normally keeps it up in a ponytail. She has crystal blue eyes and thanks to her quirk they can change colors based on her mood. She also has several scars across her body, the most prominent being the one on her abdomen. [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]HISTORY Meara O’Connor was born in July of 20XX in Belfast Northern Ireland 8 minutes and 52 seconds before her twin brother Dylan to her parents Saoirse and Drew O’Connor. Meara and her brother had a pretty basic childhood for the most part. The two siblings spent most of the time on the family farm and helped their father with the sheep they raised and spent their free time running around the rolling hills and small groves. When Meara turned 6 her quirk manifested when she and Dylan were messing around in the barn when a poor fox jumped out of a stack of feed and she fired an energy blast from a metal cannon that materialized on her right arm and punched a fist sized hole in the wall. This was quite the shock as to her and her parents' knowledge, no other member of her immediate family had a quirk. Dylan’s quirk manifested not too long after. After that Meara became fascinated in becoming a hero and using her quirk. The next ten years were full of Meara getting herself and Dylan in trouble from using her quirk to shoot random pieces of rubbish and trees. For the most part she only got them in trouble with their parents and only had minor problems with the local police. Dylan was always hesitant about Meara’s open use of her quirk but her abilities were always stronger than his and she always got him to go along with her plans, that was until one fateful fall day. Meara was trying to get Dylan to go along with a plan to do some vigilante work to get revenge against a group of hooligans that had accidentally burned one of their families fields during a drunken night of partying. Dylan was firmly against the plan because they had already been warned that they could get in serious trouble if they used their quirks in public, but Meara wasn’t having any of his “wussy” attitude. She continued to egg him on and call him various terrible names and push his buttons. She activated her quirk in an attempt to intimidate him into going along with the plan like she had done many times before. This time however, something happened that would change their relationship forever. Meara slapped Dylan and insulted him one too many times and Dylan snapped, she never saw it coming. Dylan unknowingly manifested a shadowy sword and swung out in a blind rage and sliced through what Meara always thought was her impenetrable armor like it was wet paper. Both siblings were in shock as they saw the blood pouring out of a large gash in Meara’s abdomen. The next thing she knew, Meara was waking up in the hospital two days later. After she was discharged two weeks later, Meara had to deal with the fallout of the incident. It took Meara only 2 months to almost fully recover from the incident thanks to her quirk, but the damage caused to her relationship with Dylan was far from being healed. It took Dylan another 6 months to finally talk to her about what happened in a serious manner. Meara apologized to him for the thousandth time and they finally started to mend their relationship fully. Unfortunately the two of them were about to be forced into an even worse situation. Shortly after they graduated from primary school the twins were in downtown Belfast when a group of villains attacked. The group had just robbed a bank and were in the process of escaping when Meara and Dylan crossed their path along with a handful of civilians. Meara and Dylan were initially keeping their heads down and not getting involved but it wasn’t to last. The group of villains were beginning to use the other civilians as shields against the local police force. Dylan kept telling her to wait for a government sanctioned hero to show up and Meara initially agreed, that was until one of the villains grabbed a mother and her baby. The twins silently agreed and they jumped into the fray. Meara caused a distraction by shooting one of the villains in the back as Dylan ran in and tackled the one that took the mother and baby hostage and sped them away using his enhanced speed. The two of them tried to escape with the other civilians but then one of the villains caught up to them. It was the one that Meara had shot and he was out for blood. The twins defended themselves and managed to hold off the villain until help finally arrived. But by the time they arrived, a lot of collateral damage was done to the nearby area, and unfortunately, several civilians were severely injured by the fiting and they both were brought to the jail. Meara and Dylan were convicted of using their quirks without licenses and because it was impossible to say who caused the damages and injuries, they were held accountable for that as well. The judge was merciful as they did save the mother and her child and it was argued that they were in imminent danger of being taken by the villains anyways so the results were inevitable and possibly could have been worse. So instead of being sent to prison, they were instead inscripted into the army at the behest of a SAS Captain who spoke their behalf during the sentencing. Captain McMalley was in charge of a special operation unit that was made up of individuals that had quirks and were used in operations where the enemies were quirk users. And thus the twins became soldiers for the United Kingdom. They worked underneath Cpt McMalley in his task force and went on several missions, taking out several inserection and terrorist groups across the globe. During this time they were trained relentlessly in how to fight and use their quirks in the most effective and efficient manner, and they both became extremely effective soldiers. While the twins were almost as close as prior to their incident, Meara couldn’t help but feel as if Dylan was beginning to grow more cold and distant each time they were deployed. While Meara was worried about her twin, she couldn’t help but feel like she was doing what she was put on earth to do, and she felt more and more comfortable with that life each time she went on a mission. They continued on this journey together for three years, successfully completing dozens of missions. Then one day, everything went to shite. They were on what was meant to be a routine mission where they had to infiltrate an insurrection compound and take the leader into custody. Everything was going smoothly and they had their target in site. Meara and Dylan cornered him on the third floor of a building and were about to take him when he pulled out a detonator while using his wife and small child as a shield. The bastard had rigged the building to blow and was threatening to take them with him as he became a martyr. The mission was to take him alive as the local government was wanting to avoid him becoming a beacon of rebellion. But they also knew that they had to keep themselves alive. In that briefest of moments Meara froze, she didn’t have a clear shot at the bastard, she heard a voice in her mind telling her to take the shot and don't worry about the collateral. So she hesitated to do what she had to do in order to protect herself and her brother, and in that hesitation, he pushed the button. Dylan moved so fast that she didn’t even know that he had pushed her out a window until she saw the explosion send a fireball through the now broken window as she made contact with the ground, Dylan nowhere in sight. She tried to get up and run into the collapsing and burning building but her teammates grabbed her away, it took four of them to drag her from the compound. For the next week she was in denial about what happened and she was certain that Dylan was still alive and tried to convince the captain to let them mount a rescue mission to get him. It wasn’t until he gave her a small package that the foreign government sent after they went in and cleared the compound that reality finally set in. Inside the package was a pair of burned and charred dog tags, reading Lance Corporal Dylan O’Connor. It was like a gunshot straight to the heart, her brother, her twin was gone, and it was all her fault. They had a ceremonial funeral for Dylan three weeks later, no body was discovered, assumed to be ashes. Meara was granted an extended leave of absence and eventually was removed from active duty for the time being. She continued to work on the family farm, going through the motions of everyday life until one day, McMalley came to her home. McMalley offered Meara a chance at a fresh start, to heal her mental wounds and do something to honor her late brother. That chance lay in Japan, at a hero university where she could become a professional hero like she had dreamed of as a small child. The UK had been working on an exchange program with the university for a number of years so they could open their own school in the UK. Meara would no longer be contracted to the army and couldn't be reactivated while she was abroad. This was her chance to honor Dylan’s memory and sacrifice by doing some good for the people there. Initially Meara was hesitant to go and wanted nothing to do with hero work, but after several long discussions with her parents, she accepted. Her dad told her that she needed to heal her soul and that Dylan wouldn’t have wanted her to waste her life feeling sorry for herself. So she packed her belongings, said goodbye to her parents and set off on her new journey, with the promise to make them and Dylan proud. Though as she left, Meara couldn't shake the feeling that McMalley wasn't telling her the whole truth behind her being released from her contract, and she still ponders how he got the hook into the prestigious university, and more importantly, why he seemed so intent on pushing her there. These “Nanites” as she has come to call them have replaced her white blood cells and have boosted her natural immune system. When she activates her transformation she becomes coated in the nanites as they combine with one another to form an exosuit that enhances her durability. The suit also allows her to create an arm cannon that fires condensed plasma by her Nantes super heating the air molecules as well as the iron in her body.QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Because of the nanites running throughout her body Meara is susceptible to strong electrical shocks as well as EMPs. She also isn’t a huge fan of strong magnets. She also has to consistently consume an excess of 8000 calories daily to maintain the nanites. While her nanites do regenerate somewhat quickly it still takes time and if Meara takes enough damage with her armor there will start to be glaring openings in it, she can shift the Nantes to continue to protect her vital areas by taking armor from less vital areas.[attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]SKILLS SKILL NAME: Military Combat TrainingSKILL RANK: B
