Devilutions' Disastrous Developments
Down into the twisting, cavernous labyrinth of the Southern Section of the Takamagahara Raid, many would find themselves twisting in paths that seemed like it was ignoring reality. Just like the original main area, it felt like there was different sections where the floor wasn't always exactly down, with downward slopes that would somehow wind up sending some individuals on a higher elevation. Twisting paths intertwined that could easily cause groups to accidentally split up, and find paths crossing with different people.
Some of these paths would lead some into a rather spacious room where there was a scene already unfolding. Some hero that seemed to be overflowing with electricity was seemingly stomping on small Noumu that seemed almost harmless. Granted they all stood in a varying size of half a meter to a full meter large, identifiable by their oddly geometric shaped bodies with yellow dots on their indigo shells, and yellow glowing eyes peeking from within the shell.
Near the entrance of the room from where the new people would enter from, a swarm of these bugs would attempt to headbutt and ram into the newcomers. Almost mindlessly and with a single-minded purpose of inflicting injury and damage. Evading and Killing these Meter-large Noumu Bugs would prove no issue whatsoever, however the strength behind the headbutts wasn't anything to scoff at along with the sheer amount would waste time of the newcomers as a development occurred at the furthest end of the room.
Crushed carcasses were scattered about numbering almost double digits, with some seemingly looking different from one another in some oddly distinct fashions. Some seemed a bit more rock like, some seemed to be crushed into a slime like mold, and one that was located by the corpse of what looked like a robotic-looking hero was also dead with some oddities of extendo-limbs growing from the body that almost seemed to have been stopped midway through... something? Regardless, it seemed like they were all dead.
Except for two that were skittering by his feet.
"Almost... Gottem all..." The guy seemingly charged with electricity would stomp on another Noumu bug, crushing it with a thunderous boom. Electricity would spark around it, shocking one of the Noumu Bugs still on the ground. The Shocked Noumu Bug started to glow and radiate with an odd electrical aura, leaping up at shocking speeds to headbutt the Electrical Hero. A deafening crack could be heard as the Hero's neck was broken from the impact, having lost against this onslaught of a Noumu swarm.
But that wasn't the worst of it. The Noumu Bug was making it's own cracking noise, as a mouth hidden underneath its body would unhinge open in a rather violent fashion. Reaching up and over, the bug would consume this hero's head whole. In just a matter of moments, this lone bug would start to grow as strands of hair grew from its shell with a pair of horns growing from its newfound crown. The skittery limbs would extend and morph, as it reshaped its body to look closer to like a one meter large puff ball with blue pudgy arms and legs. Violet eyes looked around, as it spoke it's first ever words.
"Ho'kay. Ho'kay. Am good. Feel bad, but good?" Almost getting some sort of cognizance of the situation as it looked over at a violet colored crystal located right next to it. Inside seemed to be what looked like Decahedron shapes that shared the same indigo shell and yellow spots like the Noumu bugs, but more shaped like an egg. "Food for friends, yes? Yes," Each passing moment, it seemed to grow from almost infantile movements to something much more accumulative to experience.
It would turn to the party as they would probably have finished handling the initial waves of Noumu Bugs, as this Fluffball Noumu would have sparks building along its horns. "Hi. Sorry, gotta propagate more! No take personal offense please," The creature seemed to apologize as the electricity sparked between this small Noumu's horns, before two arrows of electricity zapped towards the group in an attempt to electrocute the newcomers of Church, Elijah, and Meara.
>> Paths going deeper into Takamagahara South section almost seemed Escherian with how it twists and turns. >> Some of the paths [the ones Elijah/Church/Meara are] would converge into a wide open crystal cavern. >> Half-to-Full meter large Polka-dot Noumu Bugs would attempt to swarm and headbutt the characters with a decent amount of strength. Low accuracy, and barely any effort is needed to exterminate them >> At the opposite end of the room, a hero is fighting these swarms, last of his group as they got overwhelmed. >> The final bug got zapped with electricity, launched into a headbutt that snapped the hero's neck, and ate his head. >> This bug transforms into a fluffball that seemed to continue developing... >> Fluffball Noumu charges electricity through its horns, and launches two electric arrows in order to zap the newcomers.

An underwater facility that housed civilians taken from their homes. Researchers who manufactured monsters from people. A call to action was made to stop the operation and rescue the hostages trapped within. The hero association must've been desperate if they had to allow students to partake in the mission. Elijah took a breath as he delved deeper in the structure. Not like he was any better for signing up. It was raids like this that they've been training for in their tenure in UAU. Lives were at stake. As heroes, they were meant to save them and contain the disaster that was to hit the country should the monsters be released to the masses. He wasn't officially one yet but he was getting there. For now he was just an additional body to fight for their cause. A crystalline cave was what the scarred student was met with eventually, and just from entering Elijah was met with opposition in the form of bugs charging at him. Thrown knives and dagger slices were all it took to take the first wave down. Well, that and a few had to be diverted to walls due to their massive size. A simple endeavour but time-consuming. The clock was ticking. They had to clear the way before the enemy could set up. Though it seemed too late if the crack was anything to go by. As Elijah pulled his last knife from an insect, he turned to the source as the man's head was- eaten. Ah. Right. Undergoing a transformation itself, it turned to him and spoke a few words before firing electric arrows at him and two other people he happened to be with. He had a split second to think his course of action, which he was unable to use to save the others. He could only hope they had their own means of evading the attack. They had to. They made their choice coming here. The sophomore launched his grappling hook to the ceiling and reeled himself upward. Finding that he was closing distance with a group of stalactites, he readied his dagger. "Heads up," was his only warning to his potential allies before he slashed at the formations, sending the freed spikes below.
OOC: Elijah uses his daggers and throwing knives at the wave of bugs. He replenishes his supply before using his grappling hook in The Kit (gear) to dodge the electric arrows. Once he reaches the ceiling, he slashes the stalactites with his dagger to send spikes down. Crossing fingers it damages the egg 🤞 Jesse Church Blackburn Meara O'connor

[attr="class","alpha"] [attr="class","beta"] Church wandered the odd paths with an amused grin, quite enjoying the strange directional phenomena. However as he heard sound echoing from down an alternate branch in his path, he suddenly turned and headed down the other route with little to no hesitation. As always, he let his curiosity guide him as he entered the room filled with intriguing things and took in the carnage. Almost as soon as he arrived he was suddenly moving, not so much fast as it was accurately, as he dodged the various strange bugs attacking the assembled raiders in a swarm. With a smirk he set to killing a few with his dagger, slowly distancing himself from the other two raiders while remaining near. As the bugs flung themselves at him, he used their own momentum against them as they charged past him straight into his back-handed strikes, and after a moment the wave seemed to quickly peter out around him. He didn't concern himself with checking for ones left near the others, figuring they'd be fine if even he could kill them, and was instead watching the toupee-on-legs get it's barings further into the room. The assumed Nomu looked like a fuzzy static ball, and he eyed the two horns on it's head with an expression that seemed far more curious than concerned. Clearly it was electrical, and he could guess why it's horns looked like rods. As it spoke, he casually kicked off his shoes as his black bodysuit took on a glossier wet look. All the while his eyes remained on the creature as he waited for it to make a move. When it did, he immediately bounced in the direction away from the other two, watching from the corner of his eye as one of them took off towards the cave-like ceiling in the same moment. As long as he avoided a direct hit, Church was confident his bodysuit would protect him from any residue shock from proximity. If not, well, he'd figure that out when he got to it. [newclass=.alpha]background-color:#ffffff;padding:20px;width:450px;[/newclass] [newclass=.beta]background-color:#444444;color:#ffffff;padding:20px;line-height:15px;text-align:justify;letter-spacing:2px;word-spacing:1px;[/newclass] Elijah , Meara O'connor , Jesse , TL;DR- Kills the bugs that go for him, distancing himself a little from the others but not by too much. - Removes shoes and starts wetting his bodysuit with pure H2O to make the nylon even less conductive. - Dodges in the opposite direction from other two as it fires the electric arrows at them.

Meara could not believe just how sgite her luck was. She had just started to get a feel for her new home when she got roped into what was turning out to be a decent sized operation. “Ain’t this a flippin turn of events. Not even a month off the jet and UAU is already asking me to hop on it and start doling out ‘Justice’ and fight bad guys.” Meara muttered under her breath as she turned another corner. She had been separated from her pro that was supposed to be showing her the ropes as well as acting as her translator. But there had been a big ass mutant looking creature that quite literally brought the building down on top of them and caused her to fall through the floor and deposit her into this underground labyrinth. “God damn it!” The young Irish heroine cursed as she walked around another corner to nowhere. She was becoming more and more agitated by all these winding turns and dead ends that caused her to retrace her steps and take a different path. Meara had been trained in tracking and navigation in the military but that was more for urban and typical wilderness like mountains and forests, not bloody cave systems. “Damn it I could really use you right now Dylan… you were way better at this.” She thought as she continued down her latest path.
Meara was lost in that thought about her dead twin brother when she stumbled upon an open cavern that was riddled with crystal formations. As soon as she stepped past the threshold of the cavern she was swarmed by a pair of these giant polka dotted beetles that went right for her head. She just managed to duck out of the way and she felt the familiar sensation of her quirk activate as her body was quickly engulfed by what from a distance looked like Liquid Metal but was in fact trillions of microscopic nanomachines that formed a power suit around Meara’s body. Meara's right arm had transformed into a cannon and taking aim she launched a grapefruit sized sphere of searing plasma at the first big she saw. The plasma splashed over the body of the beetle and sent it crashing into the wall as it’s hard shell was quickly eaten away by the white hot plasma. The second one lunged at her now armored head but thanks to her quirk it just bounced off of her with minimal damage. With her left hand she grabbed ahold of the insect and slammed it against the wall before blasting it point blank with her cannon. “I hate bloody bugs.” She spat as the partially incinerated creature fell limply to the ground.
Meara turned around as she heard someone yelling before quickly being silenced. That was when she saw it, one of these bugs had literally bit a guy's head off, and she froze in place. The image of what she could only assume was a hero lying lifelessly in a growing pool of crimson sent her brain into a spiral as images of her last mission flashed through her mind. Her breathing became quick and shallow as she failed to realize that the bug that had eaten the poor bloke’s head had transformed into a strange fluffy creature. She also failed to recognize in time to see electricity sparking between its horns as well as a figure who was hanging on a crystal on the ceiling yelling out a warning to her. She looked at the creature as an arrow of electricity was launched at her, striking her in her chest. Meara let out a pained scream as her body was wracked by the electricity, feeling it course through her entire body, a healthy number of her nanites throughout her body. She dropped to a knee as her body locked up on her, residual electricity arcing from her form. “Shite that hurt.” She said as her HUD was filled with static momentarily. “I F*****g hate electricity.” She groaned as she finally felt her body relax enough for her to stand up.
TLDR; Meara dispatches two of the nomu insects that came after her with her plasma cannon. Upon seeing the dead hero’s corpse she has a mild panic attack as her ptsd causes images of her last mission with her squad causes her to freeze. Due to this she is unable to react to Elisha’s warning and takes a direct hit from the electricity. Meara and electricity do not mix well.

Devilutions' Disastrous Developments
With the Beetle Noumu swarm, any kind of pushback would stop or even kill each of these large bug-like creatures quite easily. It was nearly effortless and easy to dodge their movements on an individual level and take them down subsequently. One after another would find themselves split apart by blade, charged past them and splattered against nearby walls, or turned to ash from plasma cannons. With only one of the beetles having survived, skittering about in an odd fashion on the ground and towards the body of the deceased robot hero from earlier. It would attempt to eat at the remains of the body, finding its attempts at fresh flesh to have failed pretty badly.
Meanwhile the Fluffball Noumu would find its electric blast landing the mark pretty easily, especially noting that the electric element it had adapted from its original host was extremely effective. What wasn't effective was its own diminutive stature, as it would look up and notice that one of the humans was on the ceiling. Slashing at stalactites that would cause it all to come crashing down. "Don't." It tried to plead whilst having more electricity spike from its crown, creating an electric bubble in an attempt to protect itself from the sharp falling rocks.
It didn't do much as one of the spikes would graze its body, as well as some of the rocks falling onto the crystal hosting the eggs within. "No no!" It spoke without any emotion, reaching out towards the crystal as cracks began to form. Thankfully for the creature the crystal didn't break apart yet, but it was definitely at a 50% structural integrity at this point. Looking at the aggressor clinging to the ceiling, the Fluffball reached for his horns. Clinging onto it as it absorbed information he had witnessed of the three people before him, as electricity just charged through his horns.
A rapid evolution occurred as its legs elongated while body morphing different colors. Growing to a full 7 feet tall with a muscular form. The fur of its body would soon morph into hair, revealing a more human-esque face whilst the horns seem to grow and elongate, connecting with itself to create what looked like a crown. Violet eyes formed along the crown to match its face, as the crown eyes locked onto Elijah, and his violet eyes locked onto Meara and Church.
"You two may leave," Its voice retained its unemotive state, yet held a more adult level eloquence as it reached a peak evolution state. "You, on the ceiling. For the sake of the Hive, you must perish." His crown starting glowing , charging with a kind of electricity as it travelled down its head towards its extended right arm, which was aimed at Elijah. A ball of electric plasma would form, almost like Meara's own Nanite-based plasma cannon, before unleashing an energy blast that would aim to shock and blast Elijah against the ceiling.
It's facial eyes would remain locked on Meara and Church, however, watching them with an animal like instinct like a hawk. Protecting its nest with a fervent, emotionless passion.
>> Y'all killed all but one of the beetles, the beetle scurrying off towards the robot hero corpse >> Fluffball having successfully shocked Meara and observing the humans in the room, gets distressed at the danger the Eggs were in. >> Elijah's stalactite tactic work, grazing the fluffball and as it wasn't dextrous yet and inflicting 50% structural integrity damage to the crystal encasing the eggs >> Fluffball goes into a Rapid Evolution, using the information it learned to adapt to what it perceives as a more advantageous form >> Mimics Meara's Plasma Blast, aiming it for Elijah at the ceiling, whilst offering Meara and Church a chance to escape with their lives
