An underwater facility that housed civilians taken from their homes. Researchers who manufactured monsters from people. A call to action was made to stop the operation and rescue the hostages trapped within. The hero association must've been desperate if they had to allow students to partake in the mission.

Elijah took a breath as he delved deeper in the structure. Not like he was any better for signing up.

It was raids like this that they've been training for in their tenure in UAU. Lives were at stake. As heroes, they were meant to save them and contain the disaster that was to hit the country should the monsters be released to the masses. He wasn't officially one yet but he was getting there. For now he was just an additional body to fight for their cause.

A crystalline cave was what the scarred student was met with eventually, and just from entering Elijah was met with opposition in the form of bugs charging at him. Thrown knives and dagger slices were all it took to take the first wave down. Well, that and a few had to be diverted to walls due to their massive size. A simple endeavour but time-consuming. The clock was ticking. They had to clear the way before the enemy could set up.

Though it seemed too late if the crack was anything to go by.

As Elijah pulled his last knife from an insect, he turned to the source as the man's head was- eaten. Ah. Right. Undergoing a transformation itself, it turned to him and spoke a few words before firing electric arrows at him and two other people he happened to be with. He had a split second to think his course of action, which he was unable to use to save the others.

He could only hope they had their own means of evading the attack. They had to. They made their choice coming here.

The sophomore launched his grappling hook to the ceiling and reeled himself upward. Finding that he was closing distance with a group of stalactites, he readied his dagger. "Heads up," was his only warning to his potential allies before he slashed at the formations, sending the freed spikes below.

OOC: Elijah uses his daggers and throwing knives at the wave of bugs. He replenishes his supply before using his grappling hook in The Kit (gear) to dodge the electric arrows. Once he reaches the ceiling, he slashes the stalactites with his dagger to send spikes down. Crossing fingers it damages the egg 🤞

"Thank you." Credit where it was due, Recall went the extra mile by apologizing, even if he found it unnecessary. At least it was one less person for him to contend with when it came to his name.

Elijah nodded at her explanation of her status within the university before his brow rose slightly. "So you're aware." It shouldn't be that surprising. She and Lone Wolf were coworkers, so they could've discussed the lessons they taught at some point. Though he found it odd that she would remember him in particular learning from the gunner hero. He wasn't exactly a standout among the student body.

But it did make his request easier to convey. "But yes, a firearm. In a literal sense." Bringing his metal arm up to reveal his hand, Elijah flexed it to deploy the knives from within, positioned as if they were claws. "Since I am capable of using one of my arms as a tool, I see a benefit to adding a prosthetic to my arsenal that can shoot bullets."

Another flex tucked the knives back into his fingers before he crossed his arms. "Lone Wolf voiced his concern with its trigger being internal as I wanted my left hand to be free. I'll agree to any safety measures incorporated so that misfires could be prevented."

Elijah sighed through his nose. "Hawthorne." A mistake he could forgive when they've barely interacted at all. The real test was when she would make another attempt. Would she course correct? Not care? Give a 'fun' nickname he'd make no further attempt at correcting? All options held at least one person by now, so who knew where this instructor would lie?

The sophomore stepped into the room and took a seat as offered. No point standing when the request wasn't a quick one. "I understand you teach the support courses here, so you're familiar with crafting devices. I would like to request one from you." He leaned back in his chair. "I would ask one of the support majors for it, but given the potential volatility of the project I'd rather someone pragmatic take it on."

One half of this ordeal done, now it's the other half.

Elijah's not a social person. He sits in the back of the room during lectures and does as told in his exercises, nothing more, nothing less. He's good at what he does but beyond his unnecessary quips he's not a standout in his year. He's the most average person he knew.

Average was no longer the case when he had to use his Quirk now. No longer posing as Quirkless - or at least trying not to - his Quirk was one of the best when it came to evasion. When others had to remain exposed, he was in the walls, relocating himself and biding his time to strike. He thought of a way to make that aspect stronger but the classes wouldn't be enough for what he had in mind.

So against his nature, he reached out for once.

First were shooting lessons from Lone Wolf. Elijah had taken them as seriously as everything else, honing his accuracy as he fired shot after shot after shot from the training pistol the hero loaned him. It still wasn't as good as the man's - his hits fully encircled by a hair tie and not the quarter he wanted - but it was at least close enough that he could walk to the office to make a request. Projects took time, and best case scenario he'll be skilled enough by the time the product was finished.

Once he reached the appropriate door, the student knocked on it with his real hand before peeking his head through the opening, eyes glancing at the figure sitting by the desk. "Recall? Are you free?"
