When they arrived near the fallen contestants, Raito got an eerie feeling when he saw that there was no sign of struggle to be found. Thankfully none of them seemed to be harmed, but that raised a question, how did they get knocked down so easily? “They didn’t even had the chance to fight back…” He commented thoughtfully, looking for anything that could answer his question. That’s when he noticed the small things that were littering the ground, they looked like little pellets, which means….

But Raito’s train of thought was suddenly interrupted by a loud PING! Right in front of him. “What the…!” He screamed in surprise, he was sure he didn’t heard the shot being fired, the weapon the shooter was using was totally silent and he couldn’t be sure of how much time he had before the next shot. “Emi, get to cover, now!” He screamed as he used his quirk to dash diagonally to dodge the next shot. But he needed to do more than just dodge the shots, he needed a way to find where the shooter was, it was their only lead to find the actual hostages and would be too dangerous to move forward without knowing where their enemy was. The only question was how would they find a hidden enemy with a silent weapon? But soon enough, a plan started to form in his head, if he was a good one? Only time would tell. “I think I have a plan! Stay back and try to find something big to use as a shield! ” He informed Emi.

He frantically dashed around, trying to be as unpredictable as possible, as he could not rely on any sound or visual cue to help him dodge his opponents shots, he could only be as mobile and unpredictable as possible. His plan to find the shooter was simple yet risky, as he dodged the shots, he would try to pay attention to where the pellets were hitting. With that, he would try to trace their origin, using the fact that they seemed to be shot from an upwards position and aimed at him. “There seems to be a shooter on the upper floors of a building, they are shooting at us now, but be careful.” He tried to message mentally the other two, hoping that Psi-Ko's quirk was still in reach.

When Emilia landed near them, Raito turned to hear what she had to say, but a frown of worry formed on his face as soon as he noticed how distraught she was. “Hey now, take a deep breath and try to calm yourself.” He said calmly, while he tried to absorb everything she was telling them. The prospect of a bunch of other participants lying unconscious this early in the exam was a bit terrifying, even more due to the fact that he didn’t hear any sound or sign of fighting. “I’m not sure… It’s all very weird, maybe that’s the work of the villain who’s “protecting” the hostages…” He guessed, scratching his chin, but it didn’t feel right. “Well, thanks to you we might just be able to avoid the same fate, so let’s keep our cool, put our heads together and make a plan so we don’t end like them, alright?” He said with a confident smile on his face, trying to sound reassuring as he could to the rest of his group without telling them lies, he was confident that they could overcome this, but the risk was always there.

A bunch of possibilities and thoughts raced through Raito’s mind as he tried to come to grasp the situation and come up with a plan for their next move. “I say we try to go around and try to approach the place where you saw everyone unconscious from behind and try to see if we can get whatever downed the others by surprise.” He suggested, hoping that the element of surprise would give them enough of an advantage to deal with whoever was doing that. “I know it’s dangerous, but it’s our best lead to find where the supposed hostages are. Besides that, we need to get those unconscious guys to somewhere safe, right now they’re in as much danger as the hostages.” He finished, alternating his gaze between Emilia and Psi-ko, as if he was asking if they were onboard with his plan.

As the others started forming other groups around them, Raito was trying to think of a plan for them to rescue the hostages when his thoughts were interrupted by another voice calling to them. He quickly turned to its source, raising an eyebrow due to the outfit the guy was wearing, looks like someone had his hero outfit, or atleast a prototype more or less sorted out. “Hey, the more people we can get to work together, the better right?” He answered with a smile on his face, signaling that he was okay with the newcomer joining their group.

Raito then turned back again to the rest of the group. “Yeah, this is new for all of us, but if we work together we can do this!” He said with a confident smile, trying to keep the group motivated and in a positive mood. He then crossed his arms, bringing one hand to his chin when he heard Emi mention a game plan. “Well, it’s kinda hard to make a plan without seeing the place first, maybe we should tell each other what we can do?” He suggested, as no other idea came to his mind. "I can do some short dashes around and I can hold my own with a sword."

Akagi’s enthusiasm was almost contagious and Raito felt a bit relieved and happy that he went along with his idea. “Cool! I think I will go with… “The Shogun of Sorrow”, what do you think?” He asked, it was a name from a villain from a very old show he used to watch. He just hoped it wouldn’t sound cringe or lame to his partners and his opponents.

He did a positive nod to Akagi’s decision of staying in the bomb room for now. It was a reasonable decision and at the moment seemed to be the best course of action. “Yeah, you’re right, they might have some kind of sneaky or invisibility quirk and sneak right past us.” He would pause a few seconds, scratching his chin before continuing. “Besides, like you said, it doesn’t give us any disadvantage if we can fight without damaging the bomb, but they might have some trouble with it!” He had no idea of what quirks or fighting styles their two opponents would use, but it was better to maybe have an advantage to having none at all, right?

He gave Akagi a curious look when he described his powers. “Ooh, do you mean you get stronger when you get hit, or can you do a super counter-attack after they hit you?” Akagi’s quirk seemed to be a simple but interesting and potentially powerful one. Raito then prepared to showcase his quirk. “Mine allows me to do some sort of a dash, I think it’s better to show you.” He then faced an empty direction, standing still. Suddenly, he dashed forward on a fast motion, slashing the air with his sword, dashing backwards and sheathing his sword shortly afterwards. “Pretty cool, right?” There was a smile with a bit of pride printed on Raito’s face. “Not that cool if there’s a wall in the way though!” He joked, laughing a bit, but that was true, running into any solid obstacles in the middle of his “dash” could severely hurt him.

Raito’s eyes perked up when Akagi mentioned the idea of setting a trap with a bucket. “No, no, no, that’s a great idea!” Imagine their faces if they get caught in something like that!” Raito said cheerfully, as that reminded him of some pranks he used to pull with his friends when he was younger. “Now we just need to…” He then stopped talking, as if he was deep in thought, his face turning serious. “Akagi, we have a problem.” He then turned his face towards his companion. “We don’t have a bucket.” He said in a rather sad and disappointed tone, as he noticed that the building was completely empty, except for them and the bomb.

Raito found himself staring at his reflection in the bomb prop in the middle of the room, deep in thought, while unconsciously taking his hand to the practice sword in his waist. It was kinda ironic that his first assignment in the UA, a university for heroes in training, was to play the role of a villain in a bomb scenario, especially considering his not so clear record. But welp, now was not the time to be thinking about that, the exercise would start in a few moments and he needed to be ready.

“I’m glad we don’t have to carry this thing around, damm, look at the size of this thing!” He said in a jokingly tone, as turned around to face his teammate, he had heard his name during class and probably seen around campus, but he never had an opportunity to ever actually talk to him. “Akagi, right? So…Since we’re the villains, do you think we should come up with some really cool villains names or something?” Raito would suggest, maybe it was just a dumb idea, but he would be lying if that didn’t sound kinda fun though.

As they waited for the exercise to start in the bomb run, the hero team was probably getting ready to enter the building as soon the teachers have the signal, Raito couldn’t help but wonder what kind of strategy the enemy team would use, were they just going to rush in after the bomb or did they something in mind? And speaking of strategies… They would also need one, or at least make sure they at least were on the same page. “Hey, any ideas on how to approach this?” He would ask his partner, while unsheathing his word and doing some slashes and strikes in the air, both as a way to warm up, and show off a bit. “Do we wait here or bring the fight to them?”

“Either is fine by me!” Raito wasn’t one to care much about the whole naming thing,whenever someone called him by his first or last name it didn’t matter much, as long as he didn't get any weird nickname. He couldn’t resist but giggle a bit when he saw how embarrassed Freja was about the food. “Hey, hey, don’t worry too much about it! I just like to cook, really!” He said while raising both of his hands, trying to calm her down. “ Although if you want to cook next time, I will not oppose it!” He said with a smile on his face, accepting her offer.

“Well, to be fair Freja, I think unless you’re going to visit some penguins or polar bears, most places' heat will be something else compared to Scandinavia!” He joked, hoping it wasn’t a bit insensitive of his part. “Eh, sometimes it’s like this, but we also get some quite chill days.” He then adjusted the shared-sword on his belt with his left , readying it for their incoming battle, although unlike Freja with her weapon raised up, he did not unsheathe his. “Don’t worry, I don’t plan on making that mistake!” He announced, with a warm smile on his face.

Raito face then turned into an expression of concentration, closing his eyes for a few moments, while his right hand twitched a bit, suddenly he opened his eyes again, with his gaze meeting Freja’s and in a moment’s notice, he dashed towards her, closing the small distance between them and as soon as his dash ended, he he quickly drew his blade, doing a vertical slash attack agaisn’t his opponent’s torso. He would then try to keep the pressure by constantly attacking with a flurry of slashes to try to set her on the defensive, as he believed that if he gave her enough room for her to swing that bat and get momentum would probably means trouble for him because of the sheer difference of weight of that metal bat and his sword.

Freja Helt

Studying at U.A was still a little bit weird for Raito, for a guy like him who never had formal education besides the last two years of intensive education, being at one of the best universities in the country and possibly in the world was something that still felt a bit off. He didn't know if he would ever feel right in a classroom, but he was enjoying the practical side of the training. And speaking of training, today he was going to spar with one of his colleagues, Freja Helt. She seemed to be nice and cool to hang around, but as far as he knew, she was quirkless, so he was kinda curious on what she could do.

Raito had decided to cook something before going, so that they would have something to eat after they were done sparring. But doing so made him almost lose track of the time, making him hurry in packing everything up as he noticed that he was going to be late at this rate. He quickly changed into the school’s gym uniform, buckling up a sheathed training sword on his hips and made haste for the training grounds.

As he entered the training grounds, at a distance, he could see Freja’s figure. “Hey Freja! How’s it going?” He waved at her with a smile on his face. “Hope I’m not too late! I was making something to eat after the training and almost lost track of the time!” He said, as he placed a lunchbox on a shaded spot, protected from the scorching sun. “Probably gonna be a hot summer this year, no?” Raito asked,looking up a bit, before returning his gaze towards Freja. “So, you’re ready to start?”
