Bean was working just as hard as everyone else in the aftermath, though not in the same ways. Where someone like Eiji had to hammer things together, she could just work her Quirk and presto, some piece of wreckage was un-wrecked. Not to mention repairing broken equipment for the gang. She was tired well before noon but doing her best to keep her own lazy impulses at bay, mostly managing it by making promises to herself about ice cream.
"Bean-san!" One of the gang members calling out and waving as they rushed over caught her attention, glancing up from the bike she was busy disassembling. "Boss got a letter from Boss," Bean just tipped her head and the gang member hastily clarified. "That is, Boss-Eiji got a letter from Boss-Yui, and wants you to come over and read it."
Perking up and suddenly energetic, Bean smacked her hands together and hopped up from her work. "On it, thanks!"
She hadn't heard from The Brain in ages it felt like, and as she scurried over still clearly in engineering mode - big gloves on her hands and sweater tied down around her waist - she waved back at Eiji and nodded enthusiastically at the letter. Giving another nod she dropped her hands down to her hips and went up onto her tip toes in an effort to try and peek at the letter as Eiji opened it. "I heard, and I bet! It's the Brain of the Hummingbirds, after all."
The green girl visibly got more excited, then the mention of being unable to fight had her face scrunching up with worry, but then the passing of the torch to Eiji had her going wide eyed with excitement again. Normally she would have jumped right to congratulating Eiji, giving him enthusiastic pats on the back and rambling at a hundred miles an hour, but the extra bit that caught her eye kept her still for a bit longer. And put her in a more considerate mindset once she read it, settling down and looking right back at Eiji before giving him a warm smile and a light shake of her head.
"She's serious. I don't know if she's okay, but if she's writing that calmly it's probably not life threatening, right? And if it is serious, we can always help her out." Bean crossed her arms under her chest, looking contemplative. She didn't know what it was and if her Quirk could help fix it or not, but that also wasn't important until The Brain had actually returned. What was important right now was the friend right in front of her. Bringing one finger up as if to try and interrupt Eiji's train of thought she pointed out. "No real change though, right? You've been leading us just fine for months now. Maybe the Brain gets better and can take over again, maybe she doesn't, but you got this either way... and if you ever think you don't, I'll treat you to some ice cream."
She wasn't sure how well that helped, but she was going to do her best to support Eiji and the hummingbirds as she always had - that was what it meant to be one of the Talons, after all. |

Bean goes about day to day life with a carefree enthusiasm that is easy to mistake for being on a perpetual sugar rush. She doesn't get bogged down in what-if's, maybes or should-haves and even when things go wrong she is quick to bounce back or let it roll off of her like nothing happened. This can sometimes give the impression that she doesn't take things seriously or doesn't value the feelings of other people. In truth, she just is a naturally positive person that has a hard time dwelling on the negative or bad feelings at all and tends to forget that other people don't work the same way she does in that regard. Mistreating people and especially her friends is a quick way to actually piss her off and when properly motivated she is just as willing to throw down as anyone else - even if it means getting beat up. As Bean got older, he privately struggled with questions of who he was and other difficult subjects until one day realizing that some of the people he idolized were more in the 'I want to be' way than anything else. Around this time, Bean came across and ended up becoming friends with a girl that was endlessly curious about what his power could do until eventually asking about swapping pieces of bodies permanently. It was a scary experiment, with lots of trial and error, but after succeeding Bean has since fully embraced living as a woman and finally feels more at home with and confident in herself. This works on anything solid and Bean can choose to disconnect an object from itself, connect two different ones together, and reconnect objects in different ways than they originally started - such as swapping someones arms and legs with eachother. This Quirk is completely nonharmful even though it looks like things are being cut apart, mostly good for crafting or 'surgery', and disconnected parts are protected to a degree: a disconnected heart would not have the fragility of a heart removed through other means, though it is not impervious to damage either, and would continue to function and keep the owner alive despite being seperated from the body. Disconnected parts are still linked to eachother even when placed far apart or in different orders than they were originally and parts capable of movement are still capable of moving after being affected by this Quirk. QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Being touch reliant makes Relove Relax bad at handling anything from a range and has no effect on 'intangible' things such as the different types of energy, and similarly cannot affect gases or liquids - it has to be at least an amorphous solid like glass to count. While this Quirk is able to reorder things like putting a wheel on the roof of a car or an arm on someones back, it cannot change the actual composition of the things it is working with - Bean can change where the fingers are on a hand, but they'll always be those specific fingers. Same-thread usage of this Quirk can be undone by negation of the Quirk itself, a strong 'Presence' combating the effects of the Quirk, and for living creatures simply expiring over time unless whatever effects were done are considered desirable by the target. Bean goes about day to day life with a carefree enthusiasm that is easy to mistake for being on a perpetual sugar rush. She doesn't get bogged down in what-if's, maybes or should-haves and even when things go wrong she is quick to bounce back or let it roll off of her like nothing happened. This can sometimes give the impression that she doesn't take things seriously or doesn't value the feelings of other people. In truth, she just is a naturally positive person that has a hard time dwelling on the negative or bad feelings at all and tends to forget that other people don't work the same way she does in that regard. Thanks to her Quirk, Bean looks a lot different than she used to and sometimes changes up small features about herself - most commonly trading eyes with someone to change eye color. She usually doesn't change anything about her actual build as she is fond of how she is now: short with a hourglass build and short hair with a perpetual case of bedhead. She also has seam-like lines along one arm and leg and around her neck, along with large staple-like pieces of metal, that seem to be a visual manifestation of her Quirk - even if she trades pieces of herself for someone elses these always appear in the exact same places on whatever her current parts are. Bean like all members of The Hummingbirds has a tattoo of a hummingbird, in this case on her left shoulder.
Bean carries herself with an upbeat and casual confidence, often bouncing about when she walks or talks or even standing still and could rarely be considered to actually be 'still' in any real sense at all. She is always moving her arms this way and that, and is comically prone to quite literally losing her head in her more scatterbrained moments.

Who Bean's parents were, or why Bean ended up alone in the streets one day as a toddler, is completely unknown. Maybe they died tragically in some kind of incident Bean can't remember, or maybe it was a sad case of being abandoned intentionally. No matter what the cause, a member of The Hummingbirds came across a lost, exhausted and starving boy that couldn't even speak coherently yet. While most children in situations like that ended up being sent to orphanages, The Hummingbirds ended up raising the boy themselves. They taught Bean how to talk, and even a little bit of reading and writing, and came up with the name 'Bean' - although back then it was 'Lil Bean', a nickname that still gets used by the more affectionate members of The Hummingbirds... and sometimes by enemies trying to be mocking. Growing up, Bean was a bit strange compared to many orphans because he never questioned who his original parents were at all. As far as he was concerned The Hummingbirds were his actual, one and only family and that was plenty for him.
Instead, a lot of his childhood was spent idolizing the older members - in particular @eiji despite being the older of the two - and wanting to find some way to be useful to the gang. He was usually told 'when you get older' and things like that, but being useful to the gang actually came a lot sooner than anyone would have expected once Relove Relax revealed itself. Even though it couldn't do very much at first, being able to take things apart and put them back together at a touch was an incredibly useful skill and it was almost a given from that point onward that Bean was destined to be their mechanic. It didn't take long for Bean to discover there was more to his Quirk than taking apart and putting together objects, learning that it could be used on himself and other people - thankfully safely and without the horrifying results that taking someones arm off would normally have. As Bean got older, he privately struggled with questions of who he was and other difficult subjects until one day realizing that some of the people he idolized were more in the 'I want to be' way than anything else. Around this time, Bean came across and ended up becoming friends with a girl that was endlessly curious about what his power could do until eventually asking about swapping pieces of bodies permanently. It was a scary experiment, with lots of trial and error, but after succeeding Bean has since fully embraced living as a woman and finally feels more at home with and confident in herself.
Currently she still works as The Hummingbirds mechanic and is just as much a member of the gang-family as ever, and known as the Left Talon of the Hummingbirds due to her help supporting the group - a title that often gets misunderstood by outsiders as implying she is dangerous or some form of enforcer. As a way to help people, she has taken to using her Quirk as an unlicensed service to assist people with various bodily issues be it prosthetics or swapping things around, and her primary motivation is making people as happy with themselves as she is with herself.

This Quirk is completely nonharmful even though it looks like things are being cut apart, mostly good for crafting or 'surgery', and disconnected parts are protected to a degree: a disconnected heart would not have the fragility of a heart removed through other means, though it is not impervious to damage either, and would continue to function and keep the owner alive despite being seperated from the body. Disconnected parts are still linked to eachother even when placed far apart or in different orders than they were originally and parts capable of movement are still capable of moving after being affected by this Quirk.
[b]QUIRK DRAWBACKS: [/b]Being touch reliant makes Relove Relax bad at handling anything from a range and has no effect on 'intangible' things such as the different types of energy, and similarly cannot affect gases or liquids - it has to be at least an amorphous solid like glass to count. While this Quirk is able to reorder things like putting a wheel on the roof of a car or an arm on someones back, it cannot change the actual composition of the things it is working with - Bean can change where the fingers are on a hand, but they'll always be those specific fingers. Same-thread usage of this Quirk can be undone by negation of the Quirk itself, a strong 'Presence' combating the effects of the Quirk, and for living creatures simply expiring over time unless whatever effects were done are considered desirable by the target. Overusing Relove Relax causes Bean to randomly fall apart until she can rest and recover.

Bean gave an agreeable "Mhm!" about the kids so being stoked over ice cream season, and then promptly gave a mischeivous giggle like she had some big secret she was unveiling. "The hotter it gets the more ice cream I'm allowed to have." She was mostly just being dramatic for the fun of it and a second later she was right back to happily eating her ice cream, red eyes glancing off towards the ferris wheel as she imagined what Eiji was describing. It honestly did sound really great, and now she was feeling motivated to help make it a reality. "Don't worry about it Guts, we'll have it up in no time. Where did that hero girl get to anywa-"
The sudden call of their names startled the green haired and green skinned woman, nearly dropping her ice cream and leaning forward precariously on the ledge as she tried not to - solving the small crisis by just shoving what was left in her mouth entirely and hopping down onto the ground. Thumbing a stray bit off the side of her lips, she put her hands on her hips with a huff. "You're not afraid of rats are you?"
She was mostly just teasing though, giving a nod towards Eiji and falling into pace beside him as they headed off for the tunnel of love. "Think a whole nest of them got spooked or something?" |

Tag along Bean did! Bumping her head in surprise when Eiji came to get her, falling in beside him while asking this and that and everything that came to mind. What was the problem, who was the problem, was it The Spiders, did someone need their limbs rearranged, all kinds of things. She probably just came across as hyper, and that was true, but she was also confident that with Eiji and the rest of The Hummingbirds here, there wouldn't be any cause for serious concern. Even if Eiji did explain though, she was still going to find herself surprised when they reached the entrance and saw the big crowd and all the heavy machinery.
"Wha... Jeeze, they just rolled right up with all this? They could at least check in first!" Bean complained while keeping pace with Eiji, crossing her arms under her chest with a huff. Granted, she had no idea if they had actually tried to check in or not. She was busy a lot of the time and as scatterbrained as she was there was a high chance she'd have simply forgotten anyways if they did. Still, it was pretty rude of them to park all this machinery outside their front door like some kind of threat! |

"Hup!" Bean hopped up onto a concrete ledge, giving a quick little twist to swing herself around before dropping down to sit on top of it with her legs dangling over the side. The ledge wasn't that tall, part of some kind of decor back when the park had been in active use, but her feet didn't reach the ground anyways. The green haired, green skinned woman had a ice cream cone in one hand - swirl softserve - and leaned back just enough to brace her other hand down beside her. "It's finally ice cream season again~"
She said that last part in an almost sing-song sort of way.
The Left Talon of the Hummingbirds was just relaxing now after some errands and busywork, catching up with The Heart - Eiji, of course. Not that any of the Hummingbirds ever went all that long without seeing each other really. When they all lived here, at this old abandoned amusement park, it was more like a tiny little neighborhood in a way. Or a really big house? Maybe somewhere in between... they certainly interacted with each other more than some neighbors did.
Decked out in what she considered her mechanic clothes, baggy coat tied around her waist and a checkered tube top, there wasn't a spot of grease on her despite what people usually pictured when they thought of street mechanics. Kicking her feet lightly against the side of the ledge, drumming her fingers against it and swaying just a bit from one side to the other, Bean somehow managed to be moving quite a lot for someone sitting still enjoying an ice cream on a warm day.
"You think it'll get as hot as last year, Guts? Even hiding in the shade was pretty miserable..."
