"Hup!" Bean hopped up onto a concrete ledge, giving a quick little twist to swing herself around before dropping down to sit on top of it with her legs dangling over the side. The ledge wasn't that tall, part of some kind of decor back when the park had been in active use, but her feet didn't reach the ground anyways. The green haired, green skinned woman had a ice cream cone in one hand - swirl softserve - and leaned back just enough to brace her other hand down beside her. "It's finally ice cream season again~"

She said that last part in an almost sing-song sort of way.

The Left Talon of the Hummingbirds was just relaxing now after some errands and busywork, catching up with The Heart - Eiji, of course. Not that any of the Hummingbirds ever went all that long without seeing each other really. When they all lived here, at this old abandoned amusement park, it was more like a tiny little neighborhood in a way. Or a really big house? Maybe somewhere in between... they certainly interacted with each other more than some neighbors did.

Decked out in what she considered her mechanic clothes, baggy coat tied around her waist and a checkered tube top, there wasn't a spot of grease on her despite what people usually pictured when they thought of street mechanics. Kicking her feet lightly against the side of the ledge, drumming her fingers against it and swaying just a bit from one side to the other, Bean somehow managed to be moving quite a lot for someone sitting still enjoying an ice cream on a warm day.

"You think it'll get as hot as last year, Guts? Even hiding in the shade was pretty miserable..."

''Yeah, the kids are gonna be stoked too.'' He grinned, black shades firmly shielding his eyes from the wrath of the spring sun and adding to his coolness factor. At least according to him. He was sat there shirtless in nothing but his red shorts and a pair of old sandals, the hummingbird tattoo on his abs on proud display. ''Probably, it feels like it gets hotter every year, doesn't it?'' He looked over at Bean. ''All the more reason to fix up the Ferris wheel before the hottest season rolls in.''

It had been working in the past, but it broke down routinely, the thing was getting old after all. Maybe Eiji would save up some money to buy some better parts for it. Not that he had any kind of professional engineering knowledge to speak of. ''Imagine that, the heat wave rolls in, but you take the wheel up to the top where the breeze is stronger.'' He sighed blissfully. ''I need to get on that, but things have been busy around here, haven't they? Between The Spiders and that hero girl showing up.''

''Ahhh! Bean! Guts!'' A few guys running past them looked up at the pair as they were just vibing in the sun. Two of the guys were holding capture nets of some kind while the others were wielding improvised weaponry. ''What's up?'' Eiji leaned forward, pulling his shades down.

''There's a rat problem in the tunnel of love! Think you could lend a hand?''

Eiji looked over at Bean and gave a casual shrug. ''Wanna see what this is about?''

Bean gave an agreeable "Mhm!" about the kids so being stoked over ice cream season, and then promptly gave a mischeivous giggle like she had some big secret she was unveiling. "The hotter it gets the more ice cream I'm allowed to have." She was mostly just being dramatic for the fun of it and a second later she was right back to happily eating her ice cream, red eyes glancing off towards the ferris wheel as she imagined what Eiji was describing. It honestly did sound really great, and now she was feeling motivated to help make it a reality. "Don't worry about it Guts, we'll have it up in no time. Where did that hero girl get to anywa-"

The sudden call of their names startled the green haired and green skinned woman, nearly dropping her ice cream and leaning forward precariously on the ledge as she tried not to - solving the small crisis by just shoving what was left in her mouth entirely and hopping down onto the ground. Thumbing a stray bit off the side of her lips, she put her hands on her hips with a huff. "You're not afraid of rats are you?"

She was mostly just teasing though, giving a nod towards Eiji and falling into pace beside him as they headed off for the tunnel of love. "Think a whole nest of them got spooked or something?"

He laughed at Bean's comment about having more ice cream when it was a hot day. If anything she had earned it for how hard she worked around the park. ''Afraid?'' He grinned, ''They're just pests, there's nothing to be afraid of.'' He hopped down and got ready to move out with the rat extermination team. The girl Bean had been asking about was that UAU student, Freja. Eiji had been thinking about her too, but since no news had come up about her tragic fate, he had to assume that The Spiders had let her go after her little incident with them.

''It's possible. Who knows how they sneak their way in here? No matter how much we patch up holes they always seem to come crawling back.'' An idea crossed his mind as the tunnel of love came into view. ''We should get some cats or something. That oughta help with the rats at least!'' He was very enthusiastic about his totally original idea, genius of the Hummingbirds they called him!

''T-This is it...''

''Hand me that.'' With a flashlight in one hand Eiji turned it on and looked back at Bean. ''Let's go, Bean. We'll take things from here.'' He smiled back at the other guys. If anything, this type of enemy was a great matchup for his quirk, being that he was able to create fire. The tunnel was still a little flooded from a storm a few days prior, the water going up to about Eiji's ankles as they wadded further into the darkness. ''If you hear or see anything let me know.'' Strangely enough, he couldn't hear any scurrying yet. Were they nesting up all the way in the back?
