Anything of note, Date? A voice would say in her head. The security operative was getting impatient. Based on the information she was hearing, there wasn't anything that was of interest to Hojo in the slightest. Some maniac that wants to take over Japan? What else is new. Another villain of the month as one of her supervisors put it. She doesn't get it. Those type of people never seem to think past step 2 of taking over a place. By some extension, these guys usually end up being fascists and don't understand the next thing about running anything efficiently. Only can rule with fear for so much time. What did Date learn so far? Villains concerned about another villain? How boring. That's not something interesting or desirable. All these people think in minutes. Hojo thinks in decades. A company like them doesn't survive for 300+ years and many changes in the world by thinking in the short term. Based on that, this entire meeting was a waste of time for her. She did meet someone interesting though. Maybe she could be a future asset to her. Sometimes she liked diversifying people who would do jobs for Hojo. Hits, info gathering, and spying on the competition was always welcomed by her supervisors. Holding out a small data chard, she waited for the Tsukiko to accept it. "Crack it, it calls me. If you need a job. Hojo can offer one. These avenues seems to be a waste of time." Date smiled before turning towards the rest of the room. This was a colossal waste of her time. She gave no shits about some maniac who thinks he can rule the world. Not saying anything, she communicated to her detail that she was leaving. Without any word, Date simply ignored the rest and left the premises. If anyone tried to stop her, she would open up her mantis blades and very much acquainted the walls with their innards. She doubt any of these people be that stupid. Stepping back into the street, she simply would get into the car she came with and return to the office. This was going to be a short report. So short, she had written it before she got to the office. Criminal meeting. Discussing the Elemental appears to be main topic. "Whatever you prefer. I have no preference." Date was a professional. She could care less about how she was addressed. Being addressed -san or -chan isn't the most complicated thing she has done. She's pretended to be one of her colleague's wife for a mission. What Date does for Hojo. There isn't a place she wouldn't go for them. After all that was her job. Jumping up, she gave a small bow to Tamaki before heading for the exit of the office. Mostly, her job was done for now. At least, Tamaki's job for tonight.
Date still had some things to do. Pay a visit to a former employee who might need some realignments regarding their nose. Maybe need to pop a socket or two. Depends on how stubborn they'll be. This guy was a small fry anyway. Cried when he was fired. Getting fired was going to be least of his worries now. "By the way, Yamada. I wasn't here. What we are doing isn't a official job. Counterintelligence does not exist. Only the employees who work there and you know that we exist. So, try not to mention it to our colleagues on why I was here. Your boss is gonna have question why someone like me would need to talk to you. Just say its related to the patent we are filing that's on your desk. Remember, a brighter Future. Together." Date gave a small smile before bowing out of the office. It wasn't a pleasant smile though for those people who knew what Date was about. It was a threat. It was a keep in line. It was a way to show who has the power.
Date has the power. Hojo has the right to determine what is wrong and right. Hojo has the power to bring justice. Hojo will bring justice.

Good. A employee that doesn't need to be told every detail to catch on about a plan. That's a the type of worker Date appreciated. No wonder Hojo hired someone like Tamaki as a lawyer. Tapping her foot, Date put out the cigarette on her arm (it doesn't hurt as her arm is mostly cybernetic), she threw used bud into the bin in Tamaki's office. Flicking out another cigarette from her a pack she carried, she extended on to Tamaki in case she wanted one. It looked like Tamaki didn't have a ashtray so she probably didn't smoke but Date didn't want to be too rude.
Lighting up the cigarette, she nodded to what Tamaki was saying "Yes, you would be a 'get together' as people like to call it. Nothing too invasive. Kinda catch up, see if she tries to probe you on your work." Date wanted the journo dealt with. Feeding her false info wasn't enough. She wanted to make an example. A private example but still a example. Leading her into a trap where she gets arrested for trespassing would be the easiest way.
"I'd be there as your work friend that happens to run into you while you're catching up. I will walk in once she says something she shouldn't know. Then I will talk to her. We'll go on a walk. You don't need to be present for that if that occurs." Date didn't state on what would happen but the walk would include the consequences of the journo's meddling. Those can range from benign (To Date) to fairly violent but she doubts it would come to this.
Any objections?" Date would add, pulling on her cigarette.

Great. One of those types. Bleeding heart who has opinions on how Hojo does things. Those things were always annoying. If it was a openly malicious actor, Date could just do a hit and call it a day. No. These people would be noticed or missed if they go missing. They would just get replaced by another bleeding heart and the cycle continues. It was a frustration that she wished she would not have to deal with. Luckily, there was some new bills in the Diet that would make journalistic attacks on Hojo harder. "Alright, so spotty rep in the past. If she goes public, that be easy to bury. Our reputation would easily outweigh her's."
Data tapped her finger on her cigarette before jumping up from the desk. It was concerning to think about that someone might be leaking info. It has been a option that she considered but that wasn't her area. She probably could put Section 7 on that matter. They're good at finding internal leaks. "I'll get Section 7 on observing if there are any suspicious information packages or data being duplicated. They can at least find the internal." Data sighed, tapping her finger on her cigarette again.
"If she's selling info, it wouldn't be to other corpos. We have that stuff down pat. Plus with our relationship with UVS, it wouldn't be them trying to encroach on our markets. We'll keep an eye out on the news outlets as well." Date gave Tamaki a contemplative look, impatiently tapping her foot. "Could you get a meeting with Kurosawa? Nothing formal. Just going out for coffee or somethin?" Even if they didn't get along, it be a easy meeting for her to listen to.

Date's eyes followed the lawyer's movement precisely, tracking what she might be doing. The thermal vision was a very handy thing, especially if people had their hands on a concealed weapons. Like a taser for example. It probably was the standard issue. Something Date could shrug off but she would doubt it would come to that. Date was a very diplomatic person when it comes to loyal employees, something the data file scrolling past her eye was telling her. Lawyers like Tamaki are useful. Know enough to get shit done but not enough to bother the higher ups.
"Oh we do. I'm the paperwork you got called in to sign." Date smiled before flicking her fingers. The office door behind Tamaki locked. Perks of being logged into the system at all time.
Getting up from the desk, she gave Tamaki a small smile. "Date. Now. If you look up my name in the standard databases, we have the same employer. Standard manufacturing job." That was the normal cover for Date's office. Working on manufacturing plans. Something most people in Hojo would pay no mind to.
"I'm in the Counterintelligence Office. We clean up messes so no one has to worry about their jobs." Date paused before flicking a data shard at Tamaki. "Journo. Overheard a newby talking about some secret quirk experiments. Thinkin we are doing things wen't supposed to. Name is Kurosawa, Ai. Real peach. Want info on her and I know you have it. School acquaintance, right?" Data does her homework.

The fucken media rats of all people. Of all that Hojo has done for them and this is how they repay us? Date was really peeved. A pile a shit was put on her desk. A pile of shit she had nothing to do with. Some employee was blabbing too much at a bar. Talking about quirk experiments and let some details slip about when Hojo conducts these quirk experiments. The official line was always been that quirk experiments and studies were performed on consenting adults and were within the confines of Japanese law. The people that work on those experiments are sworn to secrecy. Each assignment was on a need to know basis and very limited AND YET! People couldn't shut up.
Some newby from Kyoto. A thing that she already had to deal with but that was delegated to someone less important. No, no, no. This journalist was here problem to deal with. A problem that could be either very easy or a massive pain in her backside. She would always hope it was the latter but she wouldn't have her job if she was doing easy jobs.
Sitting on Yamada's desk, she was waiting for the lawyer to arrive. Yamada would only be told that some documents needed signing urgently, hence why coming in at such a late hour. Clicking her tongue, she looked out of the opened window. Hojo corporate plaza. Full of buildings that Hojo owns or operates. The pride of Japan. The beacons of light. Date isn't going to let some journalist sully the name of the corporation and the family.
Sighing, she took another pull from her cigarette. What a miserable fucking night.

Great crowd, Date. would her driver remark through her comms relay. One of the fun perks of always being plugged in with her employer. It was interesting experience for first time operatives but Date was very much not that. What was not interesting was this crowd. Some real odd ones, most of which knew each other to some extent. Not that this was an issue for Hojo or Date. Easier to filter out people that Hojo would have no interest in employing on a contract basis. So far, most of them did not reach the criteria that Hojo sets for contractors but the evening was still young. Things can change. For example, the smoke girl that approached Date was something of note. Outside of the smoke blowing, the gear was rather intriguing. Something she Date took a slight interest in. Scanning the gear with her cybernetic eye, she couldn't help but raise her eyebrow slightly. Orion Belt huh? Doesn't have the signature of the released gear before that guy went MIA. Prototype I assume Asuka. Make note of that. Looking at the smoke girl, Date simply remarked "Nice belt. Rarely see Orion's gear much these days." Date didn't really indicate what she knew about the belt manufacture and what Hojo knew about him. Not something everyone needed to know. Date's mood was slightly raised. Maybe she wasn't wasting her time. Ah, the Elemental incident at that tower. That's neat. Wonder what the villains know. Hojo knew a lot and generally didn't care about what happened. It happened to be good for business. Everyone looks for them at time of disaster. As they should. Before Date could think more on that, another psycho had found their way into the event. Asking about train tickets. As if Date carried train tickets on her. If he pressed the matter a little too much, he might receive a little poke from a blade. Lets hope it doesn't come to that. These meetings were always interesting to Date. "Openly Advertising" your villainous meetings on a network that people like her watch was certainly a choice. Granted, Hojo would never raise their nose at finding "resources" for jobs that they rather not have their Counterintelligence division being directly involved in. These sort of meetings offered opportunities and Hojo loves opportunities. The company wasn't necessarily threatened by heroes. Most heroes used some sort of gear provided by them, even if it had little effect on their work. Heroes haven't looked into their business and she hopes that isn't going to change. If it does change though, it is nice to have options. Yes. Villains offer options for Hojo. Villains can play a role in the brighter future Hojo seeks to create. Date arrived at the meeting with her usual Hojo WSA Autopistol, Medusa 2000 (hidden in her suit) and her charming good looks. Her vitals were being watched by a net runner in case anyone played any funny business but she doubted any villain would be so stupid to touch her and risk having a army descend on their position. Getting out of her car, she connected with her driver so she could contact him if need be. Arriving, she gave a glance at some of the company present already. Scanning them with her eyes, a little pop told her they were associated with Legion. Interesting. Wonder what uses those anarchist could have. "I see the party hasn't started yet." Date would remark, scanning the area. She can easily trigger any sort of tech in the room to cause havoc in case she needs to do a get way. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. He would be a very valuable recruit to this company. It would also put her in good with her higher ups. If she keeps performing like she has, she'll be a section chief job soon. It's getting tiering breaking fingers literally and figuratively for some recognition. Hell, she was able to bridge a pretty good deal for the company not too long ago.
"Have good rest of your day!" Data would wish Kei before going behind the booth. She had some messages to attend to and some information to relay. Step one of the plan completed. Now only Kei needs to apply to the job and he'll be theirs. She didn't want to resort to those other methods. Not worth her time.

This was going even better than expected but Data isn't going to celebrate until she sees a name badge with his name on it. People can show interest and never apply. That could lead down the path of more forceful methods. Social engineering. Manipulate the information available about a person. Replaces truths with lies. Lies become truths. It brings people to their breaking point and is probably one of the more ruthless tactics Hojo will do. It's something Data doesn't usually take part in. She normally is peeling people's skin with a potato peeler. Kei seemed the kind of person where Hojo would not have to resort to such extreme measures. Clicking her fingers together, the board switched the Hojo job board and their current openings. "We currently have a couple openings in the Quirk Research Department. They're the entry level positions for recent or soon to be college graduates. We usually hold them open so people can easily get started at the company. At the lower levels you'd probably work more broadly and as you gain more experience, you'll start getting assigned to specific projects." Flicking to the next slide, added "More information can be found on our official job board. You can get more information by scanning that QR code or inserting a data shard." Data had to think about that question as Hojo tended to deal with people who were abandoned by the medical system in the country. Most of their cases were last ditch efforts. Expensive last ditch efforts but groundbreaking research isn't cheap. "So obviously we usually provide support to hospitals for the more basic ailments that come with quirks. People often forget that not everyone gets the quirks we see heroes have on TV." Data smiled a bit. Her opinion on hero society were less than savory but that's what made Hojo such a wonderful company. They never had to rely on heroes for their problems. Heroes have issues with Hojo because Hojo wants to make them irrelevant. "We recently made news as we helped mitigate a individuals radiation based quirk so their quirk wasn't actively giving them or everyone around them cancer. It took several years to find a permanent solution but we did find one!" Data remembers that case pretty well because said person works in the same division as her. It was always funny talking to them, remembering how they used to be just a patient. "We honestly have too many examples to count. We also offer simpler technologies for simpler quirk related issues. We also make gear that allows to people to use their quirk to their full potential. We are a large company that does a lot for the people of the world!" Data nodded before drinking some more water. Date gave Kei a small smile, gesturing at the panel at the booth behind her. Pinching her thumb and index finger together, the screen behind her came to life. A bold Hojo Logo came up stating the company's moto "A Brighter Future, Together." Crossing her middle finger over her index finger, the screen pulled up a slide relating to Hojo Manufacturing and its sub division. "I specifically work with the Cybernetics and Quirk Research branch but if you have questions about the third branch, I'll try my best to answer those." Date did know that most weren't interested in the Consumer Goods branch. Who is interested in washing machines?
"Hojo is at the forefront when it comes to cybernetics and quirk research. We specifically design technologies to better the lives of our customers. For example." Data touched her temple with her left hand, having her eye colour change from silver to red. Instantly, her vision switched to infrared, outlining any sort of heat source around her. Tapping her temple again, her eyes returned to normal. "My quirk gives me thermal vision. Naturally that made it almost impossible for my eyes to function. With my cybernetic implants, it lets me switch between normal vision and thermal vision." Date nodded before flicking over to another slide. "We usually manufacture quirk related cybernetics with consultation of medical professionals to seek peoples needs." Data flicked her fingers again and moved on to a general job opportunities slide.
"We offer a variety of engineering and research positions. We are very flexible when it comes to what sector you want to work in. Want to work on medical devices that help people who suffer from adverse medical conditions because of their quirk? Go ahead. Want to work on equipment for today's hero's? Go ahead. Skies the limit. Any questions? I know I mentioned a lot there." Data nodded before grabbing the bottle of water on the table behind her. She didn't like talking for a long period of time without taking a drink.

Subject identified. Transmitting location. A little notification pinged across her vision. It meant that the target had entered her waters. Expertly moving around the booth of Hojo, which happened to be near the main traffic area, mostly due to how large of a employer the company is. Waving hello to some faces she sees around the office, she had her eye track for movements and faces for the listed parameters. It ended up being a lot easier than she expected though and Kei Hada simply had walked up to her. Usually, she had to deal with more elusive targets but recruitment fairs weren't the same as assassination targets. Hopefully Kei would not become one of those.
"Hello there! Welcome to the Tokyo Job Fair. I'm Date Oshiro from Hojo Manufacturing! Could I interest you in learning more about our industry leading company? Date put on her public mask, the one she usually uses in day to day life. She has gotten quite good at it.
