She smirked, waving her hand dismissively. ''Take your time, Kanjo-san. I am not exactly starved for manufacturing work, and I would rather you put in a commission that you would be satisfied with, than to rush your order.'' To think she had come in here thinking Jun had started an arms race for mice, only to discover that it was for a game thing. She couldn't help but feel like a bit of an idiot sometimes. ''In any case, I should get to work. A quick head count tells me that I am behind you and we cannot have soldiers show up to the battlefield unarmed, now can we?'' There was no hour as eventful at UAU as lunch hour. While other students were chatting away with each other all she could do was think about her latest project, unable to stop brainstorming even during lunch. So much so, that she didn't notice she had taken one egg less than her usual by mistake. Looking down at her lunch tray she couldn't help but feel a little bad... Was she being too hard on herself? Maybe she needed to take a break this weekend and cut down on the training hours. Her attention was quickly grabbed by Mutou's loud disapproval of the lunch thief... Was that maniac carrying a sword into the cafeteria? By the time he leapt over to Hayaka, Masao was already on the move. Just as she had assumed, things were only starting to go sideways as a student with a mud quirk directed his powers at Mutou. ''That's enough.'' She raised her voice at the student who had their lunch ruined, trying to get in between him and Mutou. ''As a fellow student at UAU, you know full well that we do not use our quirks against other students outside of teacher sanctioned sparring matches.'' She glanced down at his lunch, before turning to look at Mutou, offering him a hand to help him back up. ''Mutou-san was hasty, but I doubt he had any ill intentions. If you had taken the time to ask him, rather than attack him while his back was turned you would be able to confirm as much.'' Ismini's words were at once encouraging and comforting, but also a disturbing wake up call of how wrong she had been about her own philosophy. Masao thought she had it all figured out, that she was the one in the right and that Ylva was a fool. However, it was becoming increasingly clear to her that she was just as much, if not the bigger fool out of her and Ylva. She frequently thought back to their match in the Sports Festival arena. How her and Ylva had a surprising amount of things in common... And yet, they had both turned out so different from each other. ''Is that so? I suppose I did neglect keeping up with my training in wielding a weapon because I was too busy forging them during my second year.'' She admitted with a shameful smirk. ''As I am now, I cannot compete with Riis-san.'' She averted her gaze as she said it. ''As her roommate that will not do.''She felt like she was trauma dumping on Ismini, but part of her felt at ease sharing these things with her. Her doubts, insecurities, her contempt for her own family, or at the very least her parents. ''...Thank you.'' She paused and took another look at Ismini. ''Sensei, forgive me if this sounds odd, but... Have we met somewhere before?'' Although she couldn't remember it herself, this wasn't the first time Ismini and Masao met. Only, back then Masao had been much younger than she was now. ''I see, then I will do just that.'' She nodded firmly, gripping her spear tighter as light enveloped her body. She offered a smile, but couldn't help but feel a little bad for Jun. Was everyone's families dysfunctional like her own? It sounded like Jun had her own battles to fight with her family name. ''That... Certainly is family, is it not? At all its best and worst moments.'' Her gaze wandered to the figurines that Jun finished painting, then the ones she had already done. Did she really do all this by hand? It must have taken her hours, if not days, and by the time she finished that army to use in a match against Enma, it wouldn't surprise her if Jun had ended up putting in whole days worth of effort. Her comment about fabricating intrigued Masao, and it got her thinking that perhaps she had been too fast to pass up on making a bookshelf. ''Indeed, you are very correct that a craftsman cannot simply be content to make one thing and one thing early, so how about this.'' She smiled, bowing her head politely. ''You make a request of me, and whatever you request, I will make it to the best of my ability. Whatever your heart desires, Kanjo-san.'' She had only walked in on this whole thing while they were in the middle of an argument, and between Mitoki talking back to Lone Wolf, and the teacher generally displaying an astounding lack of manners, she was totally okay with not inserting herself any further into the situation. ''Is that so?'' She wanted to talk back, but she also wanted to get out of here in a hurry. ''Well, in any case, we will be on our way, sensei.'' She bowed her head respectfully before turning to Mitoki and Mutou. ''I have some supplies I need to bring to my workshop first, but I will be joining you in a couple of minutes.''It was just a quick detour and soon Masao found herself joining back up with the two new students again. She wasn't really hungry at all. In truth, she had already eaten, but she also felt bad leaving them alone when it seemed like they had gotten into a pretty bad argument with one of the teachers. Perhaps, maybe even foolish. However, she wholeheartedly believed this was the path she had to walk. The one that wouldn't just make her any odd hero, but a hero who was worthy of the armor and hero name of Paragon. Someone who her family could put their faith in. Just then, she felt a buzz in her pocket as her phone display lit up.
''If that was all, Lawbringer, then I will have to excuse myself. I appreciate your advice and your guidance, but I have somewhere to be rather urgently.'' She bowed respectfully before turning and walking away, heading outside as she took the phone. If failing her provisional license exam had dealt a blow to her confidence and pride, having to tell her family absolutely didn't make her feel better. Almost always stoic and serious, Masao is not good at making first impressions or socialzing. Her devotion to her craft and her career is absolute meaning that making friends often comes second to all that. It doesn't mean she isn't eager to help. She is always ready to offer a helping hand and will happily craft weapons for those who need them and intend to use them for good.
She holds herself to an impossibly high standard, both as a person and as the symbolic hero she aims to become. However, she also holds others to the same standard and will call out other students or heroes who lack honor or conviction. While Masao can come across as intense and unfeeling, it couldn't be further from the truth. She cares a lot about those around her and is very loyal to her friends. I was born into the Ando family as their only child. My parents wanted a son to inherit the family manufacturing business, so I was given a boy's name and raised as a boy. My earliest memories are of my parents showing me the workshop and the forge I would one day use to tame steel just like them.
At the age of six I inherited my mother's armor quirk. It was an armor just like hers, with an activation switch akin to my father's quirk. At the time I was ecstatic, but I soon learned it would take many years for me to earn this armor, this heavy burden. My parents wanted me to have the world. To use their status and experience to train me to be the best weaponsmith in Japan, but they also forced me to train towards becoming a hero. To use my armor for the people.
I named my power ''Fake Divine'' when I learned firsthand how impossible it was to meet their expectations, and yet I press on.
I passed the UAU support student entrance exam. It was no surprise that they were impressed with my product, I had been honing my craft since I was a child. In my first year at UAU I excelled at every written test, every practical test, my weapon production was steady and of high quality. The problem was, it wasn't good enough. By the end of my first year I hadn't managed to stand out at all on the manufacturing front. I was doing well, but I wasn't the shining example of hope that my parents hoped.
I intend to remedy the mistakes of my first year heading into my second year. The only problem is this former Shiketsu student. She's on the hero course and she's a troublemaker. I am to be her student liaison. Monitor her every move and make sure she keeps up with school because she's too immature to do it by herself. It's irritating, but it's just another hurdle I need to overcome on my journey to becoming a hero.

[b]QUIRK DRAWBACKS:[/b] Her armor is heavy and will cause her to sink fast in water, it is also conductive due to being made of metal and for similar reasons can very easily overheat if exposed to fire. She has to be mindful of when and where she uses her quirk, as the armor will always appear with a flash and produce a lot of noise, making it pretty much impossible for her to commit to stealth with her quirk. When she overuses her quirk or her armor absorbs too much damage, it will automatically fade away and leave her exhausted, often unable to run or stand for a short period of time.

[b]ULTIMATE DESCRIPTION:[/b] Masao's chest begins glowing with the same light that normally appears when she manifests her armor. However, the light is sustained for longer this time, blinking to the beat of her heart until it manifests into a new set of armor. This armor has a special property change to it that makes it soak up damage. In addition, the light, rather than fade completely, forms a circle around her feet. This circle moves with Masao. Anyone who stands in the circle gets any damage they take transferred onto Masao instead, they also manifest a suit of armor, though this armor is entirely for flavor and has no mechanical use.
[b]ULTIMATE DRAWBACKS:[/b] Due to the energy required to sustain Divine Aegis, Masao can only keep it up for a very short time. She can also only use it if her quirk already isn't active, as the ultimate armor can't overwrite her normal armor. While she can shield anyone that steps into her circle from harm by becoming a damage sponge, the moment they leave the circle they are no longer protected by her. Her Divine Aegis also cannot distinguish between friend or foe. Anyone who steps into the circle automatically gets shielded assuming there is room.
Once Divine Aegis runs out, or Masao sustains too much damage, her quirk will completely shut itself off and cannot be reactivated for the rest of the thread. The more damage she has to take, the faster her stamina and ultimate armor depletes. Masao doesn't decrease the amount of damage taken from attacks through her ultimate, she simply redirects it to herself.

She couldn't help but eye the other teams nervously, knowing that a stray quirk could get fired off in their direction at any moment and sent them all plummeting towards the bottom. She looked back to Jun and nodded as she received the bomb and followed her instructions. ''Understood.'' She could only hope that Ylva and Misaki were just as cooperative to Jun's plan, which to her credit, was working out thus far. Masao carried the bomb for as long as the rules would allow before handing it over to Misaki. ''We are almost across, Takanashi-san.'' She tried to reassure her even though she didn't know if her roommate needed it, and ultimately she probably did it to reassure herself more than anything. She wanted to address Ylva too, but between everything that was happening she simply didn't have the time. ''If you need to recenter yourself, do not hesitate to hand the bomb over.'' She looked ahead and whether they made it across or not, Masao would feel absolutely beat by the end of the exercise. She clenched her fist, furrowed her brow and turned away with a ''Hmph!'' crossing her arms. ''You are not getting another confession out of me, Misaki-san.'' Whatever trickster god had possessed Misaki to act this way, she sure knew how to leave her flustered. ''It is nothing that exciting, it is just a painting.'' She tried to downplay it even though she absolutely adored Enma's portrait of her. She flashed Misaki an encouraging smirk as she witnessed her eureka moment in real time. ''It sounds like a tall order, but if anyone can make such a noble aspiration come to life, it would surely be you, Misaki-san.''She turned to face Misaki more directly. ''Do not let anyone tell you that it is naive. You walk the path that you must walk, and you stick to the principles that you abide by. That is what makes you the hero, Soundwave.'' Just as they were talking about Misaki's super move, she didn't expect the discussion to fall back on her again. ''Certainly, although it is not difficult to manifest, I will do my utmost to sustain it.''She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as she focused. Almost immediately light began to cover her body, but rather than manifest into armor, she focused it into one spot as she put her hands together in prayer. For Divine Aegis, the light flowed into her heart, this time, however, it was her hands. Then, in a flash, a new kind of armor manifested, delicate red robes mixing in with the chainmail of her new armor. ''Heavenly Glow!'' She called out as she donned the cleric armor, her helmet replaced with a tiara that matched the rest of her armor. ''This is it.'' She looked down at herself, before turning her hands up so Misaki could look at her palms. ''As you can see, light is seeping out of my hands. I tried using them in the dark, but it is too dim to act as a torch. What's more, the light does not bring harm, or damage to anything I touch, inorganic or otherwise.'' She gave Misaki sometime to react before she took a step back and watched her friend's new super move idea closely as she began to sing. Her pleasant, harmonious voice filled the air as she sang, starkly contrasting the amount of destructive power she was about to output. Only... Something went horribly wrong and Masao could tell immediately as her face turned pale. She shielded her own face with her arm before calling out to Misaki after the shrapnel. ''Misaki-san! Are you all right? Do not worry, I will escort you to the infirmary at once!'' Masao glared at Misaki, but didn't say anything because ultimately she was right. Actions did speak louder than words, and right now, what they needed was action, not to stand around and bicker. Although, she was going to have a long talk with Misaki about calling her nicknames so casually after this test was done. She crossed her arms and looked over at Jun as she snapped at them. ''...Whatever gets us through the exercise.'' She gave a frustrated sigh before turning her attention ahead as well. She would join the line wherever the team deemed she was needed the most, being pretty much done with this whole thing, but not enough to quit, just enough to cooperate to get through it. ''Is everyone all right?'' She asked her team as she continued to cross the gap using the shields Jun had provided for them. A diamond in the rough... It gave her something to think about as Ismini... Was she saying she was the diamond in the rough? She stood at attention as her spear flicked upwards, catching it with both hands on the way down. She looked at Ismini's weapon as she lowered it, listening intently to her story. Two conclusions? She paused and took in what her teacher was saying and... Yeah, she definitely fell into the category of the former. ''...Is that so?'' She asked, smirking but feeling a bit uncertain in herself after realizing how much of a fool she had been. ''Physical conditioning?'' Indeed, in just about every area except her niche of taking damage, Ylva outclassed her. ''If it is what I need to do to reach my full potential, then I will do my utmost to reach that level.'' For once Ylva was making some amount of sense, but she hardly had time to think about that when Misaki was pushing her buttons. She couldn't stand the way she conducted herself throughout this test. It was almost as if she was taking the games too lightly and trying to make them all look like jokes. How could someone like her ever become a fully fledged hero? Instead of coming up with some kind of witty comeback in the mere seconds that was left before the games begun, she instead just resigned to giving her an angry glare. The type of glare that let her know that she had made her shit list, although she was probably already aware of that. Almost within record time Ylva, brutish as she was had taken out another team. Easy for her to encourage everyone else to have a good offense when her quirk was built for it. Someone like herself, summoning a suit of armor? She didn't have the range, she didn't have the speed. At best, she could tank blows and that was probably going to be her role in this hellish obstacle course. Handing Ylva the bomb, they were all set to continue. Of course Misaki had to chime in with her abhorrent commentary too. ''Takanashi-san, focus on the task at hand!'' She scolded her for her condescending comments against the losing team. Was she serious? Was she really leaving them behind to take care of the bomb and climb the rock wall? She would have shouted at Misaki again if she had the time, but they were on the clock. ''Riis-san, make sure to pass that bomb before you drop it!'' She glanced over at her teammate briefly as she started climbing. ''Kanjo-san, careful!'' She didn't see what it was, but some kind of quirk attack knocked some rocks loose and for a second there she almost thought Jun was going to fall down. She blinked her eyes when Jun called her Saber. ''It's Ando!'' She called out just as she was helped up by being flung. She hated having to rely on the likes of Ylva and Misaki. ''Think you can do that, Takanashi-san? Help someone for once in your life?'' Her eyes were filled with just as much spite as the tone in her voice, but she would be damned if they failed this exercise because of her. Once at the top she would accept the bomb back, before passing it to Misaki. This way, it had already passed through everyone's hands once. ''A bridge?'' She panted, looking at the next obstacle that awaited them. Seeing as it was a log bridge suspended over a mud pit she immediately knew that her quirk would be useless here. As Ripp3r thrashed Masao let go and kept a hand over her wound, blood staining the gauntlets of her armor as her face grew pale. Still, she couldn't help but smirk seeing that Enma had been successful in his counterattack. However, a mixture of pain and the loudness of the screams from Vec and Ripp3r forced her down on one knee as she gasped for air, doing her best to keep her composure as the fear coursing through her veins left her paralyzed and unable to move closer towards Ripp3r. She felt her head spin as she tried to stand up, drawing her sword with her other hand. However, no matter how much she tried to compel her body to move towards the beast it refused to obey her, tears welling up in her eyes the more she stared at it. ''Helsing... We need to run.'' She wiped a streak of blood from her mouth as she looked over at the others. They were still fighting Jacko and Vec, but it was impossible for her to tell how they were doing on account of how much blood she was losing. That's when she noticed the ticking. At first she thought it was the beat of her heart, but it didn't take long for her to pinpoint where the noise was coming from. ''That monster...'' She felt a sharp pain in her midsection as her quirk reverted completely and forced her down onto the ground again, losing the grip on her sword in the process. What a blunder... She had taken too much damage. Her whole body trembled as she sat up, eyes glued to Ripp3r and what it might do next. If her suspicions were right and it was going to explode, what kind of explosion would it be, and how big? Could she act as a shield with her ultimate move if she was able to recover in time?
