She offered the student a small wave as they exited her workshop. ''Stop by this time in a couple of days, your sword will be ready for the training grounds by then. Any final tweaks or additions I can add after a practical test.''And just like that she had secured herself another customer. She had to admit it was a relief to know that people were still interested in her craft, especially since getting into advertising during her first year as a support student had proven to be a steep learning curve. She was neither social, nor appeared friendly at a glance. Add to that, she was from a prestigious and rich family, all of this was bound to alienate her, and yet, somehow, she was managing. Taking it one step at a time. She took a sip of water and a short break before she got to work drawing up the exact estimates and materials she needed, then she fired up the forge and got to work. She couldn't help but look surprised. Pass her ahead of time? Was that kind of assessment allowed, and what did she mean by Masao being hard on herself? Wasn't basically everyone? She wasn't the only one who wanted to perform at her best, who wanted to become a hero that could make a difference. Still, being told she passed so suddenly she couldn't help but blush a bit and respectfully bow her head. However, because she didn't want to disrupt the training she refrained from launching into one of her trademark monologues. She hoped that her attempt to disarm Ismini would be successful, but felt her whole body tense up as she got past her with ease, her eyes widening a bit. She winced as the butt of Ismini's spear smacked her hand. She clearly didn't mean to do any serious harm, but it was clear she was a serious teacher. As the back of her hand stung, the grip on her spear slipped through her fingers as she turned to face Ismini. She rubbed her hand gently as she looked at her teacher with awe. There was a reason she had such a fine reputation after all. ''The lack of range that I possess due to my specialization and my quirk is a serious flaw in my fighting style.'' She readily admitted, her eyes hopeful as she asked Ismini. ''How can I deal with opponents that try to outrange me, or how can I try to outrange them?''Ismini Demetria

‘‘That would appear to be the case.’’ She agreed with Ismini. ‘‘In the case of UAU I believe the strictness serves a good purpose.’’ Even if she hadn’t been able to understand why UAU would even give someone like Ylva a sliver of a chance at their school. It had taken her time to realize it, but Ylva was capable of becoming a strong hero. Not just a strong hero, but one that could do a lot of good for society too. She tried to remain as stoic as ever, but she was nervous when Ismini inspected her handiwork. By Masao’s own standards it wasn’t nearly perfect enough, she could easily spend another week polishing it and making it look even better. That’s why she was all the more shocked to hear Ismini’s verdict. She passed? That easily? There had to be a catch. ‘‘Huh?’’ She still wasn’t fully registering what was going on even as her head was being patted. ‘‘T-Thank you, sensei. I will work hard to be worthy of your trust and name.’’ She bowed her head, letting out a small sigh of relief. ‘‘Do it for yourself?’’ She asked, thinking about how her mother and father had essentially forced her down this path at first. Then, she gradually came to enjoy it, but was that because creating and fighting with weapons was all she had ever known? Could she truly say she was doing this for herself if someone had manufactured and planned this path for her from the beginning? Pushing the existential dread aside she looked over at Ismini with a smirk. ‘‘Understood.’’ She raised the spear as they took their positions, giving it a quick twirl to feel its weight before grabbing it firmly. Then, in one swift move, she dashed forward aiming her spear for Ismini’s wrists in her best attempt at trying to disarm her. Ismini Demetria

If you want to protect something, do it right… She took those words to heart, and although she wasn’t sure what the full meaning was, other than not screwing up, she intended to find the answer to it on her journey. ‘‘Those are wise words indeed.’’ She paused her work for a brief moment to give Ismini a tiny smile in acknowledgement. In the past, she had practiced smiling a little more in conversations because she knew she could come off as tense, but she wasn’t just doing it to be polite, she genuinely was enjoying her time with Ismini, even if she didn’t end up passing and becoming her apprentice. ‘‘Riis-san is a brute.’’ She said coldly as she turned back to her work, and while it was easy to mistake Masao’s words and tone for complete disdain, that wasn’t the full story. Her mind drifted back to their match in the arena. When quirks were stripped away, when they were just throwing punches at each other, she realized her and Ylva had a lot in common. Well, there were some key exceptions. ‘‘She acts like a brute. The world has treated her harshly, and while I do not know her well myself, I have inferred that she does not have many people she can rely on.’’ There was a melancholy to this conclusion, but it wasn’t hard to draw considering the type of image Ylva was cultivating in the first place. ‘‘But I am one of those people who stand in her corner.’’ She looked up at Ismini and realized she had been rambling a bit, and… Didn’t she just admit that she didn’t dislike, but might even find Ylva tolerable? She very nearly dropped what she was holding, but managed to catch it as she straightened her back and cleared her throat. ‘‘The school entrusted me with the safety and assimilation of Ylva Riis into our UAU system. I do not wish to lose that trust.’’She nodded firmly when the request suddenly changed. ‘‘Understood, sensei.’’ Usually she was able to clear her head when she worked, but now thoughts of her friends and rivals were flooding her brain. She assumed that Ismini simply wanted a spear that was compatible with electricity, but didn’t care too much about the little details, so she just got to work on putting together something fast, given that this was all happening live. Within minutes she had a rough, but working prototype, picking it up and spinning it around before stabbing it at the air. The feeling of the spear was there, a little on the heavy side, but she could make more tweaks as she went. Then, moment of truth, holding down a button on the side of the spear caused the tip to light up and crackle with sparks of electricity like a taser would. ‘‘It lacks the flair and attention to detail my family is known for, but it is a spear that can conduct electricity.’’ She looked over at Ismini, bowing her head formally. ‘‘Any other requests? And, sensei, if I may be so impolite, you too picked up a weapon to aid you in your career. I am curious what inspired you to do so.’’Ismini Demetria

Oh dear... Were these students getting detention or something? It seemed like Lone Wolf-sensei was really giving them an earful. She had better keep out of it. After all, she didn't know exactly what had transpired, and she did come barging in all of a sudden. She was just about to turn around and leave when Lone Wolf replied. ''That's Miss 'Ando', sensei.'' She corrected him firmly, before looking at the two students. ''I see. Are you lost?'' She bowed her head at both Mutou and Mitoki, even though only the former had introduced himself so far. ''Masao Ando. I am a third year support student. I was just on my way back to my workshop before I heard the fire alarm.''She knew that she could come across as a bit stoic and tense by now, so she tried to ease up with a subtle smirk so she wouldn't seem as scary. ''If you need to go to the support building I can accompany you there. I would offer to give you a more extensive tour of the school, but it would have to be at a later date when my schedule clears up sufficiently.'' She waited for a moment for their response. After all she wasn't really in a rush. Haruto Mutou, lonewolf, Mitoki Ōno

She wasn’t sure how to interpret Ismini’s smile, but it was probably safe to assume that she at least didn’t hate her. What was she thinking though? She looked like she was in deep thought, hopefully they were good thoughts. ‘‘I am sure.’’ She responded firmly, and perhaps with a bigger hint of desperation than she would have liked. ‘‘It is true, my profession is creating weapons, but I wasn’t meant to just sit in a small workshop making things.’’ She hesitated as she took a moment to find the words. ‘‘That is what I believe. Sensei, every significant step of progress I have made, it wasn’t making weapons. Ever since I started pursuing a more active path of heroism is when my quirk evolved, it’s when I started making friends, it’s when I started getting people I wanted to protect that weren’t just my fellow citizens. If I didn’t continue to follow this thread, to see what lies ahead, I would regret it for the rest of my life. That is what I believe.’’ She bowed her head again. ‘‘I want to beat Riis-san, but I also want to protect her. I want to protect Takanashi-san, and Enma too… What good am I to them if I cannot do that?’’She hadn’t expected that she would get so emotional, but maybe it was because her body was still readjusting after her emotions were tampered with by that villain in Tokyo Bay? ‘‘Then…’’ She took a deep breath to compose herself. The pat on the shoulder helped her too. ‘‘I suppose I will have to do just that.’’ She smirked back. ‘‘I was always taught to give it my all. In crafting and in life.’’ She followed after Ismini, wondering what the specifications of the crafting challenge was going to be. Thankfully she wasn’t going to have to wait long. Picking up the blueprints she looked them over. ‘‘Spear of Athena?’’ She did in fact know her history, although she wasn’t a walking encyclopedia either so she would have to let this information come back to her slowly. ‘‘I see…’’ She took one more look at the blueprints before putting them down and tying her hair back. She couldn’t remember the last time she had been evaluated live, but it didn’t bother her in the slightest. Like usual, once she had a design put in front of her, or once she had her mind set on what she wanted to make her brain went into work mode. This was the side of her, as much as Ylva seemed to enjoy ridiculing her, that she almost never got to see. ‘‘Recently, I’ve realized how much of a fool I am.’’ She continued talking while working unhindered. ‘‘I want to make up for that. For myself and for those I care about.’’ There was a certain melancholy to her voice, regret, shame, but she was also hopeful that she could improve and course correct herself. Ismini Demetria

''No offense, Misaki-san, but your ego hardly needs any buffing.'' She couldn't help but smile at her friends silly antics, for a second she even thought she might be crying, but by now she knew better. Misaki was just that skilled at expressing her vast range of emotions. ''I-I do not have anything bad!'' She protested, her face red at Misaki's reaction. As it turned out, the people who were closest to you knew how to best tease you and make you lose control of your stoic facade. ''He's just... I care about him, he's kind and hardworking, I admire that.'' She said firmly, like she wasn't totally head over heels in love with Enma Arashi. ''It is not that kind of portrait, he made it for me before we were dating. I hung it up in my room, I can show you when we get back.'' With her face redder than her hair she did her best to regain control of her emotions and got ready to get serious for their training session. ''A reactionary technique? So, you only use it in response to your opponents attack?'' She asked, trying to gain a better understanding of where she was coming from. It made sense that someone as fast and agile as Misaki would develop a move she could presumably use against other fast or aggressive targets. ''Mine is puzzling to say the least. I can create a new type of armor...'' She paused for a moment before continuing. ''But it does not protect me like my regular armor, it does not distribute damage like my Divine Aegis. In fact, it just drains my stamina faster. I still have not solved the mystery as to why.'' She smirked, before taking a step back. ''It sounds like yours is the most complete concept as of now, can you show me?''Takanashi Misaki

''Sickness does not care about whether we have time or not, Kanjo-san.'' She said with a soft smirk, finding her response amusing, but also a bit alarming, and far too relatable. It was all fine and dandy being busy, but once you really got sick there was no way out of it other than to tough it out. ''Sounds like your grandmother was a kind person. My father has always said something to that same effect.'' Despite their upbringings clearly having stark differences, maybe her and Jun had more in common than she first thought? ''It is certainly not for everyone. Depending on the type of weapon, it could also get in the way of you using your quirk, so training without one is perhaps the wiser choice for now.'' She commended Jun on knowing her limits and more specifically, what she wanted to specialize into. Her and Jun rarely talked about the past like this. Maybe it was because they were both such career-minded people and workaholics who were focused on what was right in front of them, but it felt nice to reminisce with a friend for once. ''Sailors? Most impressive, you must have grown up by the seaside, then.'' Her next question amused her, but she suddenly felt how incredibly limited her brand of manufacturing was. ''Bookshelves? That would be more akin to carpentry than smithing.'' Not a weapon? She certainly could, but weapons were her specialty. That being said... ''How about a trinket, or a good luck charm? Or perhaps a custom, steel figurine.''junsuina

Her armor quirk clanked with each and every step as she walked down the hallway carrying a huge crate of weapons she had made herself. An assortment of swords, daggers, axes and spears, all blunt of course, since she had made them for the Body Improvement Club to use during club training sessions. When she suddenly heard a fire alarm go off, she almost jumped out of her armor, stumbling along as she just barely managed to catch a dagger before it tipped over the edge of the crate. Without hesitating, or even thinking about it, she put her crate down, undid her quirk armor and grabbed the nearest fire extinguisher before rushing towards the sound of the alarm. Did a fire break out in one of the classrooms? If no one else was here to manage it, things could turn disastrous in minutes! She slid to a halt in front of the classroom as she ran in wielding the fire extinguisher in both hands. ''Fire! Where is this fire?!'' She panted, looking around realizing that there was no raging flames consuming the school at all. Just a couple of students and Lone Wolf-sensei. Upon making this realization she straightened her back and cleared her throat. ''...Perhaps my ears deceived me. I heard a loud ringing just now, not unlike that of a fire alarm. However, it is plain to see that there is no trouble here.'' She blinked her eyes and looked at the three of them. ''My apologies, am I interrupting something important?'' She awaited Lone Wolf's answer specifically, as she would feel bad if she had interrupted some kind of extracurricular lecture. Haruto Mutou, lonewolf, Mitoki Ōno

''Presumptuous she says. Riis-san, need I remind you of your past track record at Shiketsu? Calling your ability into question is entirely justified. That you seem to contest this point shows how truly delusional you are.'' She couldn't tell if Ylva stretching beforehand was because she was going to get serious, or just lulling them all into thinking she was, only to ruin it as soon as the game began. Misaki's comment earned her a silent glare, Jun too. ''Takanashi-san, that you would infer such a dynamic between me and Riis-san from our interactions is entirely revolting, and speaks volumes about what you lack to become a hero.'' Despite remaining stoic, the suggestion that she even remotely liked Ylva had gotten to her, even if it was a joking remark. She would rather redo all of her second year than go through this exercise with a band of misfits. That being said, once Misaki actually started talking about a game plan and started making sense she did take a step back and remain quiet. She only interjected once to correct her. ''Ando. Not An-An.'' She said firmly, but didn't press the point. Despite being so good at taking the bait, she knew better than to try to argue with people like Misaki and Ylva about not calling her nicknames. While she would love to argue that she was more than just muscle, the truth was that had become her niche within this group. Stepping up she also made sure to touch the ball and have her signature registered. ''I agree with Kanjo-san. It would be most beneficial that we get this over with now. Let's focus on defending our 'bomb' and not overcomplicate things. Think you two could manage that?'' Once again she addressed Misaki and Ylva specifically. Taking a page out of Ylva's book for once, she decided to stretch her arms and legs while they still had the time. junsuina, Takanashi Misaki, Ylva Riis

She was relieved that Jun was unharmed, and hoped that this mechanical creature was the worst that these villains had in store for them. A cold chill ran down her spine as she stepped into the elevator, deactivating her armor for the time being to make herself lighter again. ''What is this message supposed to mean?'' She stood there reading it over and over again. 'Paragon of lies?' Did that have to do with her, or her father? The Ando family in general? Why would someone be targeting her, just because there was pro heroes in her family? It left her lost in thought for a moment. Just enough to carelessly let her guard down around the metallic creature, which wasn't done tormenting them just yet. ''Look out!'' She couldn't stop the beast itself, but she quickly pulled Jun out of the way and behind herself, trying to shield her with her own body as she braced for the worst. That is, if Olivia didn't intercept the monster before it reached them. junsuina, Olivia Liang, enma

“That is correct.” She bowed her head in respect. It was an outrageous request, for a student like her to approach a teacher so brazenly, asking for additional help. As much as she wanted to rely on herself, on her own skills, her own intuition, time and again she had come up short. Enma, Misaki, Ylva… They were all rushing ahead while she was falling behind. “Your abilities are unparalleled, and while we differ in many ways I believe I can learn a lot from you, should you give me the chance.” She looked up at Ismini who seemed so laidback. Was she being too tense? Too nervous? “Yes.” She blinked her eyes, taking in the surprise of her response. “You know about Riis-san?” Somehow she hadn’t made the link that their Sports Festival match had so many eyes on it. To her and Ylva that fight had been important, but to the public eye she assumed it was just another fight in the tournament. “I do, I want to become someone who can protect others. As I am, I could hardly call myself ready to become a hero.” She couldn’t help but get distracted by the keys a bit. “A proper spear? Certainly. While my title is that of a weaponsmith, my specialty is spears.” First step sounded easy enough, build a strong, robust and proper spear. It was the second one that threw her for a loop. “Fight without my quirk?” She repeated, more confused than before. Relying too much on one’s quirk was dangerous of course, but she was a tank, a shield. Unless she fashioned a suit of armor that wasn’t quirk powered she couldn’t possibly hope to become as durable as her quirk. “Sensei, my quirk is the source of my power, it is the very reason I’ve made it this far.” She caught the spear and looked it over for a moment before following Ismini. “You’re saying I need to abandon it?”Ismini Demetria

When Ripp3r fired its harpoon-like swords and they flew up into the air, for a moment she feared the worst, that the monster was strong enough to contest with her and Enma at the same time, while being able to go after their friends too. Fortunately, that wasn't the case, as when the swords circled back around she realized she was the intended target. Unfortunately, she was about to be in a lot of pain. As she braced for the blow that might kill her then and there, she did everything she could to stay true to her mission. Hold onto Ripp3r and stop it from advancing while making Enma's job easier. Moments before impact she recalled her conversations with a UAU teacher after she had failed her provisional license exam. How they had praised her for her quirk, but told her overreliance on the armor could get her killed... Wait, why was she thinking about dying now? Was it really too late for her? She didn't even hear Jacko's words as he called out to taunt her. She didn't hear anything but her own heartbeat. Playing one final, defiant melody before Death itself. In a move that was more miraculous than anything, Masao jerked her body to the side and just barely managed to make one of Ripp3r's blades glance off her shoulder plate. While the Alluring Blade failed to break through her armor, however, the Malicious Blade managed to break through and stab her in her abdomen. She froze in place, her grip on the beast weakening as intense pain emanated from her wound. In a flash the helmet to her armor disappeared as Masao staggered back weakly, spitting blood onto the ground. Her head was spinning, the searing pain of being stabbed unbearable, but it was nothing compared to what came next. Her mind was flooded with fear. Fear of not being good enough. Fear of failing everyone, fear of being a bad daughter, fear of dying and fear of leaving Enma all alone. Her eyes went wide as her emotions amplified, her mind inundated with every fear she had experienced throughout her entire life, hitting her again as if she was experiencing it all at once. Had she succeeded? Did Enma get the chance to deal a decisive strike like she had hoped? Collapsing, all Masao could do was scream in the face of Ripp3r. The personification of all her fears, and the bringer of her demise. Kikurage Shimeiji, enma, Delirium, Takanashi Misaki, Ylva RiisTL;DR:- Masao stays true to her goal and intends to keep Ripp3r in check. She manages to avoid damage from the Alluring Blade, but gets stabbed by the Malicious Blade and proceeds to lose her mind. Masao is completely defenseless for the next round!
