Vox is an energetic and boisterous hero, one to jump straight into danger and make a show of it. Even if a whisper is enough to get his Quirk going, he calls them out loud anyway, his confidence overflowing in his ability to do his work and do it well. What's more, he pushes himself to pull off bigger and bigger feats with a smile, never one to back down from a challenge. Underneath the mask, he's just Ryota. He's unrecognizable from his hero persona with how subdued he is, taking on a more quiet confidence compared to the in-your-face approach Vox adopts. Let it be known however that the most acute can still connect the two. He's still goofy, laughs at the worst jokes and his competitive spirit has never left him. He strives to lift people's spirits up with his mere presence and it shows in his optimism towards every situation. It's the stance he takes, standing tall in the face of adversity despite his height being only a little above average. His body is toned, built for strength and flexibility. Along with his trademark red bandanna he's seen more with than without, his eyes have plus-shaped pupils that are a minor tell to what his quirk involves. His hero outfit is iconic; his entire form covered in bright red armour. As if he wasn't recognizable enough, a large V is also plastered on his mask and belt, signifying his hero name. His scarf billows behind him even when there's no wind, due to the Floating trait he puts on it when he doesn't need his Quirk for anything else. Without his costume, Ryota is usually in business casual wear. Button ups, sweaters, fancy coats - it's rare to see him as anything but professional. He prides himself in looking well put together. [attr="class","ryota-content"] [attr="class","ryota-title"] History[attr="class","line"] [attr="class","fa fa-file-text"]Vox didn't always have a sword. His shot to fame started while Ryota was still in UAU with a provincial license, the costume he chose shining in the sun as a hero reminiscent of the ones seen in cartoons. Many marvelled at his ability to take down foes without lasting damage, catching them by surprise time and again with his Quirk instead. The fact it was as entertaining as it was helped - turning people's hair neon to confuse them caused more than a few laughs from bystanders. It was shortly after he graduated that his armour was seen with two blades equipped. Speculations were raised. As more Quirks entered the conflict between heroes and villains, maybe the students were taught to be prepared for anything; that non-lethal methods were no longer enough in this day and age. Some thought he was lacking compared to his peers, required to train himself in using the weapons so he didn't fall behind. No one needed to know that Ryota picked them up of his own volition. No one needed to connect the decision to an attack that occurred far from his university. He hadn't pulled out his blade for more than self-defense, and not on a person directly without sacrificing his Quirk to make it Dull. It was an additional challenge, he'd say. How well can he fight when using his power to weaken his weapon? He didn't say he would put them away for good once one individual was taken care of. Permanently. [attr="class","ryota-row"] [attr="class","ryota-content"] [attr="class","ryota-title"] Quirk[attr="class","line"] [attr="class","fa fa-step-forward"]Emitter - B By touching something, Ryota can give it additional traits that can change aspects of its design by saying these traits out loud. Whatever he used his Quirk on will retain these new properties until it leaves Ryota's field of influence, he replaces one trait with another or he falls unconscious. Whichever comes first. In terms of affecting a person, each augment can change one attribute by one rank per tier. As an example, he can raise his speed by 3 ranks by applying Fast to himself. [attr="class","ryota-title"]Drawbacks - He's limited to two active augments, and he often has to use both on the same thing as one doesn't affect the other. Small things he makes Large still retain their original weight, so he has to make them Heavy as well for it to be a viable weapon. In the opposite end, he often uses Small and Light to make something easy to carry. - The augments he adds is only in relation to the item he uses them on. Putting Large on a coin would only make it grow to a foot in size. In the same vein, adding Fragile to a steel wall doesn't make it as weak as glass. It just makes it weaker than it was originally. - He has to make direct contact with a tangible item to use his Quirk on it. He can't manipulate the state of air, and just because two people are holding hands doesn't mean they count as "one item" when he uses his Quirk on one of them. - He can't change what the item is made of. He can make something Flammable but he can't turn something into wood by saying it's Wooden. - He can't change the shape of the item. Words like Bent and Broken hold no effect on an item that's neither bent nor broken. As such, his preferred fighting style isn't much of one at all, but rather a hodgepodge of techniques that involve a lot of context switching from how quickly he can add and remove traits from himself and other things. Even without his Quirk his hand-to-hand combat is nothing to sneeze at. His methods can be difficult to keep up with, and that fact is all the more advantageous to him. Way of the blade! - B- In cases where a sword is necessary, he will come out swinging! Ryota is proficient with the wakizashi and katana, brandishing them when fists aren't enough in a fight. He can give his blades special effects using his Quirk, and while they're mostly for show (glowing blades are especially fun to show off), he can dull them to the point where he wouldn't slice his target, hitting them with a blunt object instead. Twinkle toes! - B Ryota is always on the move. Nimble on his feet, he can reach difficult places with careful limb placement and balance. His spacial awareness is heightened as well, enabling him to dodge incoming attacks easier and spot secret areas to get to. But it does make it easier for him to climb walls due to increased traction in his hands and feet. And most importantly, his armour allows him to use his Quirk on himself without having to smack his own face. Sharp edges! - D Just a katana and wakizashi set made to match his armour. They're nothing particularly special, at least currently.
