Darkness shrouded their path as they forged on ahead. They were pushing forward in their respective wings, but came together for this particular operation. An investigation deeper into the labyrinth that was the East Wing, where there was a likelihood that people were trapped within so they may never be found. Well, not on Vox' watch. The ones behind the experiments made the mistake of making it personal.

Eventually they came across an obstacle, in the form of a gargantuan plant using one poor soul as energy and the other as target practice. As much as Vox wanted to continue ahead and ignore the creature - and he could, he was confident in his speed and flexibility - he knew he still had a responsibility to uphold. He was a hero. His selfish desire shouldn't blind him from their ultimate goal, and that was to shut down the lab before monsters were unleashed to the world and free more hostages than just Kei.

A way to achieve that was to clear the way by ridding themselves of this thing. It would benefit them either way- if his brother was somewhere in this wing, they wouldn't want to run into the live flora again on the way back.

Vox was glad Jun had the same mindset. Nodding, he readied his hands. "Sounds good to me! I'll leave this with you two, it'll only take a moment- [NONCORROSIVE]!" He slapped both Jun and Yaoyao's backs with the word, sympathizing over the redhead's reluctance with touch but it was the only way he could use his Quirk. Neither have armour as encompassing as Vox' either- he could hopefully resist the acid without the word if he was hit, at least for a little bit. "Now keep a tight grip on the vine!"

With that command given, the hero rushed forward and jabbed a tendril with his blade, swinging himself upward before pulling his sword out and continuing his way. Even if the plant fought against Mood Ring's hold, his experience with traversing on rough terrain would push him onward along the large vine until he reached the thinner ones. A leap and quick swipe against some - one of which was absorbing the poor man's essence - would hopefully free him from his fate.

If it wasn't already too late that is. But Vox had always been an optimist.

OOC: Ryota applies 'noncorrosive' on Jun and Yaoyao in response to the acid display before pulling himself up to run along a large tendril. When he reaches the thin tendrils, he tries to cut them to stop whatever it's doing to the man on the ceiling.

Bunny hail and one well-aimed strike was all it took to collapse the floor and send the beast far, far down. Vox distanced himself from the newly created pit, raising his arms As Enma was pulled to safety by none other than Stellar herself. "WOOO! Now that's what I'm talking about! Excellent work!" The celebration however would be short-lived as light bursted from the hole, and the armoured hero had to turn away from the source lest he blinded himself. "But it looks like we're not done yet unfortunately!"

That wasn't their only problem either. The owl was still alive and kicking, its screech causing Vox to crouch and cover his ears. In doing so, he noticed the ground felt more firm than it should. His Quirk was still working - that much was certain - but it was weaker.

He did turn when his name was called though, face alight under the mask at the plan Stellar was insinuating. "Great idea Stellar! Let's hope it's still works while my Quirk's not at 100%!" Then he turned to the student scorched from dealing the decisive blow on the dragon. Poor guy still took the heat despite the word but he couldn't dwell on that now. "Fall back Helsing, you're losing your word! Aid however you can, we're plugging this hole with both of them in it!" Then, rubbing his hands together, he aimed them at the ground once again.

"[SLIPPERY]!"

Who knows, maybe his weakened state would mean only the owl would be truly affected by the floor taking an ice-like quality. Vox would make a skating motion with his legs to move away from the beast's path to the hole. "Steady your footing everyone! Don't want you all to slip too!"

OOC: Ryota congratulates the others on the execution of his plan before turning away from the pit when the light appeared. He agrees to Stellar's plan and tells Enma to fall back before applying 'slippery' to the floor, hoping the others could slide the owl into the hole before Rahul plugs it with his diamond meteor.

One archer remaining after Stellar dispatched her own, and the owl he was gunning for was handled swiftly by Helsing instead. Then Playboy's army continued to overwhelm their opposition. It made Vox proud, knowing he was fighting alongside such outstanding individuals. Though a curious eye was drawn to a new combatant in the fray; clad in dark attire and handling the salamanders as well as the best of them. A new hero maybe? He should familiarize himself with the roster again.

It was when he took care of the final archer that the battle shifted; fire critters converging into a mighty dragon while the felled avian took on new life as a master of storms. Its winds blew Vox off his perch but with some quick thinking - "[HARDY]!" - he crashed on the ground without much injury, digging his blade through the floor so he wasn't blown back further. "Alright Stellar! Anyone who's ill-equipped to handle this new threat, fall back to her!" Hopefully they'd heed his order. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to bite more than they could chew.

The owl was going to be tough to deal with given its range- oh someone was shooting it now! Another new face, he definitely needed to review who was assigned to this raid when he gets back to base. That left the dragon remaining. His brow furrowed, eyeing the molten footprints it created before turning to his fellow sword wielder. "Helsing! If you're staying, get close to me! I have an idea!"

OOC: Ryota takes care of the last of the archers before falling to the same level as the team, applying 'hardy' to himself to minimize his injury. He digs his sword into the floor to root himself in place, telling everyone getting overwhelmed to go to Stellar before calling out to Helsing to execute a plan.

Many of the archers were dispatched, Vox's quirk carrying him through the motions. Arrow deflected here, an enemy tripped off the wall there, and things were going well enough. His actions towards the actions may have been too harsh but he felt it necessary. Lives were at stake. None of the monsters were backing down.

His eyes grew wide as the army of salamanders crawled into the scene, their flaming projectiles readied and launched. He had no answers for them. That was the limit to his power; strong at changing the pace of battle but it couldn't do much against a horde. So it was a relief that Misaki and Rahul came into the scene, supporting Enma as they cleared through the creatures. "Masterfully done, all of you!"

Perhaps the students weren't the ones he should worry about however. As an owl descended on an archer and stared him down, Vox felt his movements slow. He hadn't realized his word had gone away until an arrow scratched his arm between the plating, leaving a burn in its wake.

Vox groaned before calling out to the others. "Be wary of the owls everyone! One disabled my Quirk!" The masked hero opted to hold his blade one-handed as he worked through the other archers, the bird becoming his main target. "I'm unsure if my Quirk is still aiding you Stellar so keep that in mind!"

OOC: Ryota warns the others about the quirk-nullifying owls as he took an arrow to the knee arm. Working his way towards one of the birds, he warns Stellar as well that she might not have his word anymore.

"Yes! One vote for me!" Ryota did a fist pump for good measure, which was probably a hilarious image given the fact he was dressed as a fictional serial killer. "I knew I could count on you Stellar!" Did he know it was likely favouritism that got him the vote? Yes. Did he care? Absolutely not, not when there were no stakes in the impromptu competition anyway.

Which Mai didn't seem to understand. He placed a hand on his chest though, touched by her words. "Aw, thank you Mai. That's so sweet of you to say! And hey- your costume is amazing so no talking it down!" He waggled his finger in admonishment so his response sunk in better, non-the-wiser to her inner turmoil. "Besides, it's not about who's worse, it's about who's better. There's a difference."

Upon hearing the familiar name, Ryota turned to the person Mai was addressing and lo and behold, there was the shark girl. He smiled underneath his mask, then raised his arms when he realized she wouldn't see said smile. "Mar! Glad you could make it! I see you too are saddled up for a good time! Why, that's another fun comparison between you and-" Ryota paused. Right, can't have everyone address the man at once.

Instead he focused his attention back to the group and kept his voice low. "Guys, I'm worried about Mark. He wants to be alone but I don't think he's in a good headspace for it right now. I feel like we should take turns checking up on him."
