The Dream World Park is here for a limited time. Working in tandem with Tokyo representatives, Dream World Co. has orchestrated this event for everyone in Tokyo and beyond to be a part of. With a low admission cost of only 1000 yen, it's suitable for anyone to come! Enjoy what Dream World has to offer and get the most of it by coming back for this limited two week long exhibit! [attr="class","likedosub"]EVENT DETAILS This event has two parts. Part 1 is prompt based event centering around the temporary Dream World location in Tokyo. You will have a total of four areas to choose from that have varying activities to partake in which can be seen in detail in the EVENT LOCATIONS section. Please label your threads using the abbreviation [DW1] for Part 1 and set them in the Tokyo board as much as possible! You have until June 1st to complete and submit these threads! [attr="class","likedosub"]EVENT LOCATIONS The four areas of this event are listed below, as well as visually on this map: Grand Stage - This is were big shows and events are held. The opening ceremony thread was held in this location, and there are a variety of things to do throughout the day. Amusement Park - As you would expect, the amusement park is filled with rides and interactive activities for people to enjoy. Games/Leisure - This is the typical games and extra attraction area. You can find many carnival games here, as well as more relaxing activities that may be a nice break from the loud and crowded nature of the amusement park. Food/Shop - This is the area where people can refuel, rest, and then dec themselves out in Dream World merchandise. You are able to sign up ALL of your characters for this event. Even though you can sign up all of your characters, each character will only get the reward ONCE. 3. oh. i'll be honest, i don't quite know how to describe myself. this is around the age where most people start to transition into truly discovering themselves, but i've had some difficulty with that part. my therapist tells me that it's in part due to my childhood and the incident. that's the kind of thing that can prevent someone from fully developing their sense of identity. but, also, i have this little inkling in the back of my head that tells me that maybe, just maybe, there might be something wrong with me.
i think i might just repeat what other people have told me. in school, all of my classmates told me that i was a very quiet girl. i think that's probably true. i don't tend to speak unless i have been spoken to, and even when i do, i'm always very polite and reserved. you might think that made me popular with the teachers, but it only made me a little bit more invisible than i already was. though my test scores were high, i never sat with anybody at lunch, and i never joined any extracurricular activities. it was a bit of a tragic existence, but, honestly, i like slipping into the background. some people love the limelight, but i don't. i'm like a vampire—put me in a spotlight, and i'll start sizzling.
that doesn't mean i was all that happy with my situation. i've never really had any friends, and for a very long time, i've relied on myself and my stuffed animals. my babies are good to me, but after a while, i've kind of started to want some actual, genuine connection. i'm not a kid anymore, and i find it difficult to imagine my stuffies talking back to me nowadays.
i guess the only problem is that it's hard for me to open up to people. i'm not a very genuine person, honestly. i don't tend to talk about myself. from the social interaction drills my therapist made me do a while back, i learned that people really like talking about themselves, but i've taken it too far and all i do during conversations is ask questions. that's a big weakness of mine, i guess. i honestly don't know how to talk to real human beings.
oh well. i'm sure i'll be fine.

i'm really tall. it's probably the first thing you'll notice about me. compared to the average height for women in japan, i tower over most of my peers, and it was especially a talking point when i was in high school. since i'm both very tall and pretty skinny, a lot of people liked to call me a skeleton. i mean, i don't really mind that. i think skeletons are pretty cool.
beyond that, though, i mostly differentiate myself from other people with my sense of style. while i'm still not very sure about who i am as a person, i think i've put my finger on what i like to wear. gothic, alt, lolita is what i tend to go for, featuring mostly black, including lace, chains, belts, fishnets, and chunky belted boots. also, on particularly nervewracking days, you might see my favorite stuffed animal, dorian, make an appearance.

so, i guess i'll come right out and say it. i'm the reason my dad killed my mom.
i know, it's a tough thing to just admit right off the bat, but it's the kind of sob story you only need (or want) to hear once. so tuck in for a second.
mom and dad were high school sweethearts. grew up together, family friends, went to high school together, the whole thing. from what i've been told, they were pretty cute back then. problem is that mom got pregnant with me right out of high school, and since both their families were really traditional, they had to get a shotgun wedding to hide their shame.
[spoiler]i was born alright, but a bit premature. i had to stay in the nicu for a bit, and then i got to go home with my parents. there, life began a slow but steady downward spiral. first it was shouting matches, slammed doors, holes in the walls. then, it was black eyes, bruised knuckles, and threats of the unthinkable. though dad never hurt me like he hurt mom, and he was okay to me when i was a bit younger, as i grew up he started telling me i was at fault for trapping him in a loveless marriage. i was a kid, i didn't get it, but when a few incidents of this a year turned into every month and then into every weekend, it started affecting how i saw myself. my mom told me she loved me everyday, and kept secretly make plans to help me and her escape the household, i couldn't help but start giving credence to what my dad was telling me.[/spoiler]
[spoiler]there was one day where dad did try to hurt me like he hurt mom, around when i was seven or eight. when mom went off to try to take care of herself, dad turned to me, apparently still angry. i was terrified—i didn't want to end up like my mom, i didn't want to end up worse. as he approached me, fury in his eyes, i suddenly discovered my quirk. suddenly, he wasn't mad and i wasn't scared. hell, he didn't even seem to notice that i was there. it was like he forgot what he was mad about. he left the house to go out drinking, and by the time my quirk wore off, i went to mom and cried and screamed into her arms.[/spoiler]
though it was scary, this became both me and my mom's defense mechanism. everytime it looked like dad got into one of his moods, i would pop my quirk and he would calm down and everything would go back to normal. suddenly, it was like we had a way to defend ourselves. this worked for a year, around the time when my mom figured out a way to finally leave with me and get out of the house. she was packing up with all of her stuff, trying to get me all ready to leave while dad was at work, when he suddenly came home early.
of course, he was furious. yelling, screaming, wailing, hitting. he was angry enough to the point that even my quirk didn't make him stop. in fact, when he finally realized i was the one who had been preventing all of this from happening for around a year, he only got angrier. dad was just about to get to me when one of our neighbors called the cops. while he was being taken away in handcuffs and paramedics were trying to revive my mom, dad kept yelling at me that it was all my fault, and that it always had been.
i learned in the hospital that my mom passed away from her injuries, and that my dad pleaded guilty to all charges in the courts. while this was lucky, because that meant i didn't have to face him again, nor testify against him and his lawyers, it was bittersweet. in a way, i did believe him, that i had ruined the family, that i had prompted him to kill my mom, and that i was the root cause of all the issues we had been having.
of course, the government made me get a therapist as i went to live with my aunt on my mom's side, where the story of me and my parents became a big family secret. my aunt is a saint, but she's like the rest of them. if i ever tried to bring up my parents, how nobody bothered to get me and my mom out of there, how my grandma even blamed my mom for the whole situation, my aunt would just shut it down. no one talked about it. as far as the rest of the family was concerned, it never even happened, and i was essentially just an adopted vagrant.
the one good thing that came out of all of it is that i realized i could actually protect people with my quirk. it takes away most hostility and aggression, just enough to get everybody on an even emotional field and descalate situations that could become deadly. maybe when i signed up for ua university, i was hoping to do just that.
more realistically, i'm only in uau to make up for my mom. maybe there's a chance that heaven will forgive me if i save enough lives to balance out the life i indirectly ended.
maybe all of it is just wistful thinking.[/spoiler]

gloom aura allows the user to emanate an aura of emotional suppression. upon activation, the user emits the aura, and everybody within has intense emotions dampened to the point of apathy unless their vitality attribute is greater than this quirk's rank. additionally, the aura makes the user less noticeable socially. though the user is not physically invisible, they become less prone to being noticed and are capable of slipping under the radar with ease. in daylight, the aura is invisible, but at night, one might see a shimmering black mist emanating from the user.

With a touch, Yumi is capable of rewriting life itself by making choice alterations to a living being's genetic code. To do so, she must lay all five fingers on a living organism of her choice and mentally walk through each step of the genome. For organisms with less genes, this process is almost lightning fast, but for humans and similarly complicated beings, this process can take up to minutes for larger modifications, albeit that time is significantly reduced if Yumi is making minor changes. What constitutes as a minor change is essentially a buff or debuff: Yumi can rapidly enhance one of an organisms base attributes by four ranks or she can rapidly devolve one of an organism's base attributes four ranks, to a minimum rank of D-. These enhancements and debuffs rarely last more than a few minutes at most. Yumi can apply these edits to herself as well.[break][break]
Major modifications are far more taxing on Yumi, last way less time, and take way longer to implement, requiring stillness for an extended period of time. What makes them worthwhile is that major modifications are essentially limited only to Yumi's creativity and knowledge, be it adding entire extra limbs or adding single, powerful traits from other organisms. The actual experience of gaining these modifications is, however, a painful one, and powerful modifications require a significant amount of either pain-numbing medication or simple perseverance.[break][break]
Regardless of the type of modification Yumi is making, she can only have one active at a time.[break][break]
[b]LIMITATIONS:[/b][break]
[ul type="disc"][li][b]Close-Range:[/b] Yumi can only activate her quirk if she has direct, skin-to-skin contact with the organism she is trying to edit. Given that her quirk has little use beyond this, actually getting close enough to enemies to utilize her quirk's debuff is a constant struggle.[/li][li][b]Focus and Drain:[/b] Yumi requires an immense amount of focus to make even the most basic of gene edits. Loud noises, chaos, and pain can make it difficult for Yumi to get through the process at all: or, in the worst case scenario, she does get through the process, but the result is not exactly what she expected. Additionally, the process is incredibly taxing on her mind and paves the way for mental fatigue. Too many edits, and her decision-making becomes incredibly questionable.[/li][li][b]Temporary Effects:[/b] Genome edits are short-lived at best and incredibly ephemeral at worse. If somebody knows what they are dealing with, all they really have to do is wait out the edits for a few minutes and then Yumi is pretty much useless.[/li][li][b]Unpredictability:[/b] While Yumi has gotten minor edits down to a science, major modifications are a whole other beast entirely. While humanity has made incredible groundwork in understanding the genome, many genes are still a mystery, and this is no exception for Yumi. With every major modification, there's a very large chance that Yumi introduces a dire drawback to her subject as well, making major modifications more of a gamble than a boon.[/li][/ul]

Well for starters... Robert had only JUST discovered his quirk. Basically, he is a late bloomer.

Meaning, that there is a whole mirage of problems...
For starters, The enhancements granted by Solar Energy Absorption are minimal and may not significantly surpass the abilities of an average person. The increase in strength and vitality is subtle and not substantial enough to grant remarkable abilities. Not only that, but the absorption of solar energy is slow, requiring prolonged exposure to sunlight to activate the Quirk's effects. Quick bursts of sunlight exposure may not provide enough energy for any noticeable enhancement. Naturally, this comes with a knock on effect that the enhancements provided by Solar Energy Absorption are short-lived. Once Robert moves away from direct sunlight, the effects diminish rapidly, returning the user to their normal abilities within a short span of time.
But wait, there's more: While the enhancements are active, Robert might experience a sense of fatigue and strain on his body. The absorbed solar energy might cause mild discomfort or exhaustion, especially if used for an extended period. This can discourage prolonged use of the Quirk due to the physical toll it takes on his body. Ontop of that, the effectiveness of Solar Energy Absorption can fluctuate based on the time of day and the position of the sun. Early morning or late afternoon sunlight might provide insufficient energy, resulting in weaker enhancements or even the inability to activate the Quirk at all. Don't even get me started during night time. It simply does not work. At all.
And of course, there is the simple fact that, because he is a late bloomer in the Quirk department and due to the minimal nature of the enhancements, controlling and harnessing the increased abilities might pose a challenge. Ryuji is at a glace a tiny silver dragon. His curved wings come to blunted taloned ends. He has two long, smooth dark silver horns with black tips, pointing up and back from the head, accented below by frills on the hind of his jaws. His scales are more like a snake's, small and smooth with his underbelly, frills, and wing membrane being white.

Ryuju was born in the United States and he was quite a shock to his parents and the hospital staff, for he wasn't human looking like his parents but was in fact a tiny dragon. His parents were endowed with minor dragon-themed quirks, his father was able to create patches of scales over his body for protection and his mother who had dragon wings, served their government roles during the early chaos of the Vigilante Era. The dragon quirks, symbolic of power and resilience, allowed them to protect society. Still, tragically, they fell victim to members of the Quirk Rights Movement, leaving Ryuju's parents injured and forcing them into early retirement where they moved to Japan. Growing up in a society where crime and civil unrest were evident, he witnessed the struggles of both quirked and the very few non-quirked individuals. Entering U.A. University marked a significant chapter in Ryuju's life. Inspired by his parents' resilience, he pursued admission to the prestigious hero institution, driven by the desire to use his dragon quirk for the betterment of society. The dragon quirks passed down from his parents became the foundation of his strength, embodying the spirit of protection and the power to overcome adversity.

In addition to the inherent limitations imposed by Ryuju's small dragon size, his diminutive stature also presents challenges in performing certain tasks that require physical reach for example. He may struggle with manipulating heavy equipment or accessing items to big for him to use, highlighting the practical constraints imposed by his size and shape. The smallness of his frame, while advantageous in certain combat situations, proves to be a hindrance in scenarios where physical presence and reach are crucial. Whether it's grappling with larger opponents or interacting with objects designed for beings of more standard size, Ryuju must navigate these challenges with inventive approaches, compensating for his limitations through agility and resourcefulness. Right now his biggest complaint is not weighing enough to open the automatic doors at some stores.

he's a little underweight and chronically exhausted. touma is not the picture of a threatening figure or of an imposing stature. he is a scrawny person whose hair has grown down to his shoulders when it isn't tied back, and whose eyes have thick bags underneath them. his clothing hangs off from his body no matter how careful he is with the sizing; he is frail, easily knocked aside, and can often be seen dozing off when not directly being spoken to or interacted with.
