Akaiken took her spot on her team's side of the field. She glanced at her teammate(s?) and back to the center. The redhead began stretching out her legs, sitting on the ground and performing her warmup. If she'd known it was a team event she wouldn't have signed up, and just opted for fighting her way through. Although, maybe she could use this as training. After all part of being a pro hero was winning despite other heroes butting in and holding you back.
Yeah she could absolutely dodge the obstacles her teammates provided while still stealing flags and slaying the enemy. Speaking of the enemy, it was kind of exciting fighting unknowns in this sort of contest.
In any case she stood back up and cracked her back with another stretch before prepping to take off running as soon as that darn buzzer would signal the start.

Akai glanced up from her meal seeing someone approach... False alarm, the tall man turned and went to another empty table. Good. She turned her gaze back to her food taking another bite when she noticed two people approaching from the other side!
She looked up a a white-haired girl asked if she and a super tall red-haired girl could sit there, but sat down before Akai could finish chewing that bite. "Hey!"She choked out as they prattled on about... wait, now that she was paying attention she realized they were talking about swords. Her eyebrows furrowed listening to the content of their conversation before the tall redhead apologized for 'hijacking the conversation' and introducing them both. She thought to comment on it but decided better muttering a small "Nice to meet you." not bothering to introduce herself.
Instead she opted to jump straight in "Wait, living organic or dead organic? Because bone knives and wooden swords already exist. Although both are inferior to steel they could make a good jumping off point, for example since bone is porous you can infuse it with another material." her head tilting slightly as she spoke.

Akai stared down at her plate... This was their hottest level? It didn't even look red like at all?? She glanced up at the lunch server who gave a thumbs up. "Thanks..." She stared quizzically down at this really normal looking karaage curry. Well, whatever she'd deal with that later... She turned walking out of the end of the line and towards the tables of the cafeteria.
Groups of students were naturally congregated together among the tables but she'd done enough social exercise recently. She walked to an empty table sitting with her meal before looking down at that curry. She tentatively took a bite, her face falling with the realization that yup. Totally weak!
Well, it was a good thing she was always prepared. She took a small bottle of chili oil out of her school bag and putting only 3 drops on her plate before stirring it in and taking a taste.

Akai glanced up catching Ylva's gaze and gesture at the surrounding group. "That just means you're not doing it right." She commented, glancing away and directly at that wagon of sweet pastries, before swallowing to steel herself before she would approach.
Unfortunately, she heard a familiar voice butcher her name before she could convince her feet to move. She paled slightly, turning her head to see... Khepri. Shit. That bubbly menace was practically skipping over here! Akaiken's eyebrows furrowed as Khepri approached excitedly saying she'd introduce her to everyone. Even worse.
"No touching." She grumbled as Khepri started trying to drag her over by the arm, yanking it back but reluctantly following regardless. She muttered a flat "Nice to meet you." after each incomplete introduction, but giving a special scowl at the girl dragging the wagon of sweets before taking a seat with her plate.

Akaiken took a deep breath as she took her place on the field. With all this meltable metal around this is probably what a kid in a candy store felt like, right? She was fairly excited to see what she could do with this much ammunition.
She wore the standard UAU gym wear instead of her hero costume, considering that she hadn't come up with one yet. It was kind of sad giving up her old work outfit, and it'd been difficult trying to come up with something else in the mean time. Sure she could just ask for another black on black fitted suit but well, she was the one who chose to give up that lifestyle. It didn't sit right with her to use that outfit while trying to put what it symbolized behind her.
In any case she started to stretch her legs out and do some light jogging in place to warm up. What was the goal again? She looked around and noticed a protective case behind her almost resembling a briefcase. That's right! Defeat the Villain while protecting those Secure Documents that needed to be given to the professor at the end of training. Couldn't touch it until the match started.
The redhead cracked her knuckles finishing her small warmup. "Come on let's get going already!" She grumbled waiting for the alarm to go off and wondering how she could mitigate the annoyance of carrying that damn suitcase.

A Barbecue! Finally something to look forward to! While the expression on her face was a poor gauge for telling her mood or what she was thinking, her stride was almost bouncy. Her casual-wear consisted of a black fitted Tshirt and dark jeans. As the faux red-head entered the main area she seemed to be blinded to all going on around her and immediately zeroed in on the food spread.
In short order she had a plate stacked with well, primarily different forms of grilled meat. That's what a barbecue was for after all! She took a bite as she walked towards the middle of the event starting to look at seating. Her first instinct was an empty table but she could hear her old boss' voice chastising her. 'Akai-kun, you know you won't make any friends that way!' Of course, she didn't necessarily want any, they tended to be more trouble than they were worth. Or at least more painful in the end.
But, she had made the decision to turn her life around and become a hero, right? So maybe she could push herself outside her comfort zone in things like this too... Maybe just this once.
She sighed and took another look around spotting a table with seemingly more and more people joining it. Maybe she could slide in with that group too. She started in that direction before something caught her ear, she turned watching a girl with a broken arm pulling in a wagon full of... "Shit."
She immediately backtracked nearly scrambling back from the cart full of sweet pastries. She was lucky her plate was full and the smells of the barbecue overpowered any sugary sickening sweet scents. "Ugh, gross." She muttered under her breath turning away and looking for another table.
