Misaki seemed to be a very colorful person, which might've attracted many but certainly would be draining to the likes of Enma. His social battery couldn't handle the dance of him's and haw's made for the sake of a person's boredom. Maybe it was the toxins of working customer service talking, as that made even the cheeriest of people not so pleasant for the mentally ragged Enma. He had been working the stand all day, the end nearing. She was sweet, which was a nice change from the impatient that zoomed in and out. As she asked for the silicone bands, he would begin packaging them and ringing her up simultaneously. "Alright, let me grab the bottles." Zooming through the inventory himself, Enma put those legs to use as the several levels of product formed a tower behind him. Without using the handles, he would run up and down a rolling ladder. Dropping down, he would package the fresh bottles and click-clack in the item numbers. "You won't be disappointed, my father made sure to tackle the product quality before he considered marketing too hard. It's the only reason we beat out others for this stall." Nodding but not smiling, Enma spoke with clear confidence in what his father provided. Totaling her, he would walk her through the payment process and gave a customer service smile to the compliment. "Thank-you, apparently I am supposed to face someone tomorrow in the exhibition matches. I hope I don't disappoint." Enma was excited, he didn't know who it was but it would be one of few times where he could unwind. There were strict instructions not to really wound the opponent with his sword, but the students of UAU were made of tougher stuff than glass. "What do you do for work? Anything to do with the festival?"Making small talk as a sort of "finalization" to the customer's experience, he also figured he may see this person on campus at some point and wanted to leave a good impression. In his time working for his father, Enma has seen some battered equipment. A lot of it came from people who didn't know how to regulate their strength from quirks or they didn't buy the proper equipment. He wasn't on the clock, so he wouldn't crush the person's hopes that the bat was still functional, but he knew that it was...it wasn't in great condition. He respected the appreciation shown by its owner, but it was done. The problem was that baseballs shouldn't so easily sunder the bat, so what were they hitting? Enma didn't try to know all the heroes out there, but considering they were at the festival, they must've just been one of the many dozens. "Your bat isn't up to code for baseball regardless, even if it gives it its all." That was his way of breaking the news to the poor boy carrying the mangled bat. Was it even for baseball? This had to be hero's weapon. "My father's stand here has plenty of bats, but she might also be able to help. I'm Arashi Enma." Giving a nod out of respect, he looked to Masao to see if she was game for a little repair. It might not be done quick, but she would have in better condition than it was before. At the idea of them being siblings, Enma cringed. "She's...not my sister. Actually, she's a very prestigious daughter of the Ando family. You can trust her work, nobody compares. I, on the other hand, am simply a student hero." Enma gave a humble explanation, almost cracking a smile but his crushing social anxiety keeping that stoic face constant. 🆁🅴🅼 Masao Ando

Enma didn't mind waiting for Masao, it gave him time to steel his nerves and not appear to be the bumbling fool who has been falling head-over-heels for her. If he froze up and couldn't function every time he saw her, the charm would wear away quickly. Though, when he thought about Masao, he felt this warmth in his chest that has never been ignited by anyone else. Clutching his chest and reading the text, he pursed his lips and exhaled while nodding. "Okay, she'll be a moment. I guess I will limber up in case we do a lot of walking." As he would do stretches, it passed the time and took his mind off of the strong Masao. She was a majestic knight, but today would bring another surprise. As she came to the entrance to UAU, he would take her in and the same awe that struck him on their first date would tear away any notion that he had the fortitude to not melt in her presence. It was a sight to behold. The duality of someone's fashion really showed in Masao, and Enma couldn't stop himself from smiling. Looking forward to talking and listening to her, mostly listening, Enma gave a two-finger salute. "Masao, you're beautiful. Just...stunning. I've...I feel lucky." He felt as if this was a treat for only his eyes. He'd never seen her dress up like this and as he stepped forward into her space by instinct, he froze once more. Did they kiss now? Were they on that level? Something was born within Enma that was almost primal. His hand would go for her arm gently and he would look up at her, eyes just peaking above her chest. "I don't know why I moved in so...suddenly. But, uh, is it okay if I..." Mustering up the courage was hard when it was the girl you were falling for. Beating bad guys? Saving hostages? Easy work. Romantic partners? The biggest challenge in the world. "My first instinct was for us to kiss. I'd rather have your permission, dear Masao. I've missed you." Way to play it cool. Afterwards, they would depart and he would need to pull himself together. Making their way into Tokyo, they would cross the street where Enma would show the large sports equipment shop owned by his father. It was flashy and warm in its design, something that called on the locals to support. "I figured since we're making our way to grab dinner near here I'd show you the store. You've saved me from boredom more times than I can count there." Keeping to the sidewalk closest to the road as a way of protecting Masao from falling into it, he couldn't help but take glances at her appearance. One could not tell she was a smith when dressed so elegantly. "What inspired today's outfit? Showing your boyfriend how many ways you're so beautiful?"Where did that come from? It felt true but unnatural, pheromones taking full effect. Being connected to Masao has made him feel more human than he ever had and has grown his confidence ten-fold since they met. The idea of protecting her, feeling her, spending time with her has been blossoming in his mind for weeks now and now he's said his first overly flirtatious line. It also assumed one thing that hadn't dawned on him until he said it: he declared himself as her boyfriend. When he realized what he had done, his eyes widened and his face went pale. Would this be the day he dies? Masao Ando

It was finally time for their second date. The first was a wonderful but emotional experience and Enma was happy that Masao wanted to keep seeing him. With everything so new, he wasn't sure what to do to maintain the wonder that captivated the two of them. What if Masao wasn't so amazed by him? What if their careers pulled them apart? These fears were typical of someone who'd never had a romantic relationship or interest before. Washing away his fears in the shower, Enma remembered just how sweet Masao was. How she accepted him and was generally someone he could share very personal, very difficult things with. There was a reason he brought her to see the painting his sister made, and there was a reason that his heart shined for her. By now, he was able to control it but the days that were normally filled with thoughts about villain-slaying and training had become less monotonous. She was on his mind all the time. How to impress her, what he could do to show her that he cared for her, how to protect her. A whole new fear began to settle in: what if he couldn't protect her? He was strong, stronger than most of his class. That was a fact, but the voices of his father and grandfather telling him he wasn't good enough had been barking whenever that particular fear loomed most presently over him. Finishing the shower, he looked at the mirror and observed his scars. They weren't earned through heroism, simply being markers of his tumultuous childhood (or lack thereof). Feeling them, he reined in his anxiety by remembered what it was like to kiss Masao. To touch her... For someone of her expertise, she was so soft. So sweet. Masao... Exhaling, he would get dressed. This time, he was wearing a red turtleneck that had no pattern but was a brighter shade, duller in saturation. He wore his black slacks and some casual, spring-season geta. Of course, he wore socks with his geto. Apparently in other parts of the world, that was frowned upon. In Japan, one who didn't wear socks were asking to not have skin on their feet. Shooting a text to Masao, he would meet her at a dumpling place in Tokyo that they'd do take-out with and go to a hill for some privacy. It was later in the evening and classes were done for the day. Feeling weird without bringing Raiju, Enma started overthinking scenarios. Hey Masao, would you like me to wait by the UAU entrance? I hope you had a nice day. I'm excited to share dinner with you again.Smiling at his phone, he would put it away and wait at the entrance instead of heading off to the city. He figured they could just leave the University together. Masao Ando

Despite them being adults, the two truly led sheltered lives socially. Enma was taught to appreciate literature, nature and a warrior's spirit. Masao was taught to work hard and never let up, always trying to accomplish the proud admiration of her family. It was inevitable that they would lack in things like how to hold a person or comfort them. How to run with the moment, even. Most relevantly, how to kiss. But Enma didn't expect Masao to be a good kisser, nor did he expect himself to. It wasn't about good or bad to him, because she was connecting on all crucial points. She accepted him, she supported him, she felt natural to talk to and be around. Her aspirations were inspiring, her work equally so. So much for Enma to idolize that he forgot about his fears and his darkness. He needed to be careful, as sooner or later he would need to contend with a lot of unknowns. The deeper he bonded with Masao, the deeper the well of unknowns he must draw water from. Still, as they bumped noses softly, Enma didn't chuckle, he just smiled. A laugh might scare her off, despite it being nobody's fault. No, he took the kiss in full stride and let their lips dance together. With the warmth and softness of each other's pillows, he felt confirmation in his heart. The feelings, the truly big feelings he had for Masao were real. He didn't want the kiss to end. Something was born between their kiss, be it a budding love for each other or a love for affection. Pale fire rolled from Enma's body and used the surfaces of their embrace to swirl around. His heart and his tears shined. When the embrace finally ended, he didn't let go of Masao. "That was wonderful, Masao. I won't lie and say I'm any good at it, but it felt right."The date could not have gone any better. A share of emotions, refined and mature. An appreciation for art. Vulnerability that would invite mutual sharing. An acceptance of romance that could paint the memory so vividly and clearly that he would always remember this day. It won't last forever, but it will drive him even further into his heroic aspirations. He won't be alone, either. "You bring so much out of me that I didn't know was possible. Thank-you. Now, dumplings?"A sweet date, the next he decided to make much more easy-going for them to enjoy. Still, he didn't know that sharing his sister's painting would be such a bonding experience. The fear regarded it as selfish and too much, but Enma knew Masao would appreciate it. He just knew. Masao Ando

Of course, Enma was foolish for having such an easy choice of attack. Lawbringer was fresh, uninjured and staring directly at him. Even if he was fast and strong, the man would just know where to move and didn't have to worry about the boy adjusting. The difference between using a weapon and not was also the difference in how committal certain attacks were as well as the ability to adjust fluidly. He should know better, which made him feel frustrated. As he was shoved, it would catch him off guard and make him stumble back as he was lost in his own thoughts. Clearly, Enma needed to think about how he was going to adapt himself. Taking a moment to breath squarely, he would zoom forward once more. This time, he would keep his senses sharp and not commit to a full-force attack. As the distance closed with his speed, he would throw a simple jab. This jab would be followed by a second in quick succession, throwing jabs like a double barrel shotgun. To end the rhythmic attacks, he would try to strike with a side elbow. Fully expecting Lawbringer to block, he wouldn't hold back as he wanted to be quick, efficient, and chip away at that armor. Enma couldn't believe how the teacher was talking to him, but he could believe what he said. He needed to do better, show that Helsing was capable with or without his sword. "Keep pushing me, Deveraux-senpai."Lawbringer

With the Sports Festival ongoing and the bond between Masao and Enma growing, he figured that he would show her the equipment stand rented by his father. It seems as if his father was using the festival to gauge if he should expand at all again, either opening a larger location or a second one. His last attempt didn't go well, with consistent success coming from having just the one in Tokyo. He knew that it would just be one of the clerks working together, so there wouldn't be an awkward meeting between his father and Masao. If he was caught with someone he clearly had a thing for, his father would not be calm. Especially if he found out it was one of the Ando line, it might make him encourage some sort of political marriage. They didn't need that, so Enma decided it was best if she did NOT meet his family any time soon. Bringing her in, he would give Masao a tour of the place and point out some of their key products. That's when someone entered and exclaimed they had a broken bat. If he was his father, he'd fix it with his quirk. At the moment, it seemed as if that perk only worked for things special to him. Deciding to let the clerk deal with it, they explained how there wasn't any repair services and offered to help them browse the bats and see which one was a good fit. The unnerving detail was how the bat was mangled, but Enma didn't think much of it. "So, yeah, that's the stall. I'll be working it a few times, my father will be running the store in Tokyo."Hands at his waist, he looked at Masao to gauge her reaction. "What do you think?" He also had a surprise for her waiting for when the clerk was done with the customer. He learned that he could give Masao a lot of surprises that pleased her, so he would keep doing it. As long as he avoided bad surprises. 🆁🅴🅼 Masao Ando

The niceties were something that reminded Enma of his father. His father was a fantastic host, always offering heaven and earth for his guests. Who someone truly was when hospitality wasn't the mission was what mattered to him, but this person seemed genuinely kind. The offers, however, did make him anxious through the reminder alone. Still, Enma was not a rude guest and did have proper manners to respectfully decline. "No worries, Kodai, I appreciate it."Nodding, he could tell that the only at-ease person here was the third year in their presence. They likely had seen and experienced a lot and by year three, a student really should be used to strangers and colleagues. Enma entirely avoided that in his first year, the second year being where he needed to break out. Still, his presence in the class was so he didn't end up like some controversial heroes he's overheard others discussing. "I...can do calligraphy. We can make specialized messages and use the flowers as part of something." His talent with calligraphy assisted when engaging in the artistic ability of his quirk should come in handy with the quality of the product they made for the sake of charity. Though, if there was anything he could take from his father, it would be his business sense. "My quirk won't help in this, but we should discuss logistics. I can leverage my father as a contact."While normally he wouldn't like aide from his father, he knew that the money and visibility in Tokyo would be a huge help. Branding and product quality was everything to his father. It was also a cause that would help them get the right backing, with any other assistance being welcome. They needed to make the product themselves, but maybe his father could help manufacture what they needed as well. "We will likely want to keep it simple, efficient but still invoking an emotional response. I assume that's how marketing works usually, right?" He didn't consider himself a strong marketer, but some talent was inherited from his father. The ideas brewing between them were evolving and it seemed like everything connected nicely, which put some confidence and comfort into Enma. They might actually make something really good. When Enma was young, his grandfather made sure to numb the emotions he still had from the dysfunctional home he came from. Where his father and him could not get along, he feared and respected Papa Arashi. The toxic nature of both homes had been in two forms, one where his father did not try to understand or care properly for his child and one where his grandfather was cruel to make a warrior out of him. It took a long time to realize what love was like, but he knew the kindling fire within was for Masao and because of Masao. He couldn't say it yet, it was too soon. He needed to let the fire grow, test it against the winds. The moment they shared for such a heavy first date was beautiful, but it helped him realize that his father and grandfather didn't show love like they should've. They didn't cultivate it, they were too busy building their masks and trimming their bonzai trees to let a child be a child. The scars on Enma's body were not entirely real, but signs of his journey with his family that he wouldn't realize had manifested from his quirk. They were so realistic that anybody could mistake the scars on his body for healed over wounds. Some were, patterning and weaving together between real and false scars that made his body look more weathered than it should have. The mark on the side of his head from his time in Kyoto was the final symbol of him becoming a warrior in Papa Arashi's eyes. So many big feelings from his past came to the surface when he was held by Masao. Touch so welcome that it melted the adamantine armor he wore on his skin at all times. He didn't look ridiculous. He didn't feel ridiculous. He felt like he was in the right place, being around Masao. With great admiration, he would see her accept him and show him that emotions were okay, even if it was just for him. Enma needed to return this great service to her, he needed to be a sword for her to wield. "Yeah...I'm okay, Masao. I'm okay because you are with me." While they had known each other for a while, this would be the first time they would be in a romantic setting. This was also the first time that he dealt with such a variety of big feelings and felt safe in letting another see it. "I'm feeling...a lot. You being with me, here, seeing this painting and accepting me...it means a lot Masao."Through teary eyes, he smiled and gestured for them to leave. "I am hungry for some dumplings. There's also something we must do, but not here." Once they finally left the museum and began walking towards a place to eat, he would stop and suddenly pull Masao into him. "Masao. I am confident because of you. I am feeling things I should have known how to feel because of you."On one of many hills in Tokyo that overlooked the down-curve of the city, the setting sun struck both of their faces. He looked at her passionately, with deep and sincere romance on his face. "I only know how to express myself like a war spear, so I can't wait any longer. May...I kiss you?" There was heat in his breath, the rising and fall of his anxious chest even more accentuated. Trembling hands held Masao with the most soft puppy expression one could ever capture from him looking up at her. Did she feel the same? Masao Ando

Illusions worked best on those of addled, muddied minds. There was something within Enma that wanted to be let free in the face of conflict, but he wouldn't realize the harm he may bring Yuki Onna by doing so. The rainy night was the perfect mask for someone who's quirk could use it against them. Vile, as manipulating two heroes into fighting could potentially be very bad for those looking onward. Enma wouldn't immediately grasp this, as he took a safety step backwards. Eventually, the elemental mask would ripple and disrupt as space was created between the two originally unwitting heroes. His eyes widened as he felt like he peered through the water and saw the professional hero. Feeling wet all over, the weight of his clothes clinging to his skin, there was an induced sense of claustrophobia. How could things be so distorted so quickly? If the distance let them see who they really were, then that means the scope of the illusory effects was fragile. Unsure if she could hear him properly, he called out regardless. It was going to alert their assailant, but Enma was confident that if they were one to resort to tricks...they certainly couldn't outrun the swordsman forever. "Yuki Onna!? I think we're under some wicked spell!" Rotating frantically and keeping a strong stance, he would stay away from any water elementals unless they tried attacking him. Now, he would need to be on the defensive and only return attacks to ward off anybody who thought of him as monster. Thankfully, there weren't bystanders at the time of them entering this part of Shinjuku. "Did I hit you? Are you okay?" Feeling bad about the strength behind his blow, he hoped he hadn't fractured any bones. They needed to figure out how to evade this quirk and discover their enemy. Fast. Shirayuki Mai

Ever since he met Lawbringer, Enma knew that he needed to hone his weaponless skills. Hand-to-hand combat was very real and he would be at a disadvantage if he ever found himself fighting without Raiju or the sword Masao made for him. Arriving at the training grounds after some time of talking himself up, he heard there was a third-year that was leading it. In fact, the third-year was of some renown. Oberon, the Time Turner himself. If there was anybody who could help Enma translate his fighting prowess with the sword to his own hands, it would be him. In that respect, Enma had little problem getting himself break from his comfort zone and attend. Quietly, he would appear and see the lesson was already ongoing and saw the teacher who recently held the bomb run simulation, Arbogast. Not trying to startle her, he would appear by her side. "Arbogast-senpai, good morning. Am I still able to join the class? I usually am...very punctual." He didn't immediately make way, observing and wondering how Farrin was as a teacher. Hands behind his back, he gave his teacher a bow and conducted himself formally. There was excitement behind his hesitation, held back only because he would be that guy showing up late. Enma was not that kind of person and didn't like the attention. Farrin Lucille Arbogast

There were a lot of feelings every time Enma visited his sister's painting. When he was younger, he didn't understand why she would paint a woman in a birdcage and it filled him with confusion. As he spent time away from his father, only being dragged along to visit the museum begrudgingly on what would be her birthday, he began to feel it. Only half of the feeling would sink in, as his father wanted to cage his children and control their careers. This painting almost didn't happen, but he was happy that it did. What was once confusion became acceptance. In his time at U.A.U., he slowly grew a greater appreciation for the caged lady. Now that he had someone to share it with, he could uncage his own emotions. He might not know exactly why it would hit close to home for Masao aside the frustrations between her family's expectations and her success, but he would feel it all the same. The power behind the artistry really spoke to how he's been caged all of his life, not allowed to grow and bloom. The scars on his body buzzed in response, tingles that told him that he shouldn't have had the upbringing he did. With his mother and his sister gone, he was left with his father and brother in Tokyo and his grandfather in Kyoto. Most of his extended family were non-factors, drifting away and estranging. Standing there, feeling weakness in a way he hadn't allowed himself to feel for so long, he began to feel wet on the peaks of his face. As rivers ran slowly and subtly down his cheeks, he would bring a hand up to them. The feeling was new, and as he looked at the equally emotional Masao, he wondered if she cried too. "I know, Masao, and I know you'll be an amazing hero and smith in your own right. I'm glad that her work could invoke emotion...but, well, this sounds silly..." His tears grew as they felt this beautiful moment. Suddenly he would take her other hand, bringing them together and holding them firmly. "I've...never cried in front of someone. Or anyone. Or, really, at all...since I first found out." Since he first found out they died. The rest of his words collapsed back into his throat, nervous to say them as big emotions flooded in. Who was Masao becoming for him? "Let's go have dinner together. Before I look too foolish."A laugh. Out of that stoic face. Nervous and trembling, he really was afraid of letting everything out there. The strength it took holding in the pain was incredible, surely Masao had her own pain to hold in. When they were in private, when they were clear, there was more room to let go. Masao Ando

If she didn't like physical contact, it would make sense if she avoided using her strength much. Enma started drawing up positional scenarios like football coaches did for their plays, but in the style of war games. He didn't know it, but he would love Complete War: Shogunate 2. Another war game that could be appreciated, like 80K. "A sparring partner would be appreciated. We'll call it even after you teach me 80k."Nodding, he appreciated that he could take his own time to study the books. It meant that he didn't need to be social and could focus entirely on reading them. After re-reading Dracula for a third time, he needed something new to read. Maybe some more hobbies help diversify and sharpen his mind. "Give me two weeks and I will be ready after reading. Then you can give me a refresher." It was a commitment, a pleasant one for Enma. A new friend was to be made, surely Masao would love to hear about it! "I must get to where I was going, I wish you luck on the rest of your project. Just in case, here's my number." If she would accept an exchange of numbers, he'd be quick so that he could get moving. "Whenever you want to lend me the books and we're both available, let me know. It was really nice meeting you, Kanjo-san." Giving her a polite bow, he would be on his way. junsuina
