She continued to look at him through the silence, giving him as long as he needed to respond while refusing to show any signs of weakness. She wasn't the same helpless little girl she was when they first met, she had grown a lot over the years, especially after her death. ''Fine, I will. You're too dangerous to be left alone.'' She huffed, following closely behind him. She had to admit, of all the people to bump into out here, she was happy that it was Diego. They were fighting for opposite teams now, but for the time being their goals aligned. Gradually as they walked, she started walking next to him instead of behind him. He was clearly making good on their little alliance, seeing as he had plenty of opportunities to attack her by now. ''Sounds like he's been making enemies left and right ever since the elemental attacks.'' For a moment, if she forgot the fact that there were killer monsters on the loose, a raging war being fought under the ocean and that they were both kitted out to fight with their lives on the line. If she ignored all that, she could almost see them being just another couple, walking together on an island vacation. As they walked she couldn't help but hold onto a grudge from their previous conversation, letting the silence hang in the air for a moment before speaking up. ''I never got us in trouble, by the way, I just speak from the heart.'' She crossed her arms, pouting to herself. ''Teach always told you to be quiet in class, or think things through before you act. If it wasn't for the fact that you're a traitor, I'd say you are the one who hasn't changed a bit.'' She replied smugly. ''Where are we anyway? You never answered me.''Diego Ibarra

His yelling startled her a bit and she quickly duck down and held her breath, looking back at him as the monster came back their way. She missed him so much, even more so when she saw him like this. Why did he have to turn his back on heroism? Did he realize how much he had hurt her? How much she cared for him even now, even after he had most likely done so many unspeakable crimes? ''You're too loud, that's one of your bad habits!'' She retorted once the creature disappeared again. The fact that he had called her Luci didn't escape her either. Not many people called her that, and even if they did no one said it like him. No one made her heart race this way. She let out a quiet huff as he walked past her and started telling her to go home. Didn't he take her seriously at all? He may be some important villain now, but she was a hero too! And not just some rookie! As he started walking away she followed him, speeding up and grabbing him by his wrist. ''Stop, Diego.'' She replied firmly. ''I'm not going anywhere, there are hero students down there and they are my responsibility.'' She tugged on his wrist. ''And so are you...'' She looked off to the side for a moment. ''You saved me, I'll admit as much. Thank you. But I'm still arresting you, and we are not leaving this place until the Elementalist has lost, so you are going to have to come with me.''Diego Ibarra

He was here to beat up the Elementalist? Maybe the villains weren't as united as they were led to believe? ''Yeah right! I've been training, you don't know what I'm capable of now!'' She huffed, throwing a couple of shadowboxing jabs at him that would turn into real punches if he dared step any closer. That was until they were spotted and she froze up mid-pose. She stared back at the eyeballs as she thought about what to do next. Activate her quirk and take flight? Was it a better idea to run or fight? Before she could make a decision it had practically been made for her when Diego scooped her up over his shoulder. ''H-Hey!'' She called out, feeling her face light up with embarrassment at being carried like this. But then it was like the feeling of danger vanished all at once as she remembered their first year-up exam together. She had used up her quirk to make temporary shelters for civilians, but had no energy left to run from the danger. That's when he scooped her up just like this and ran faster than she had ever seen him run before. As he squeezed them into the supply shed she held her breath, waiting for the creature to pass them by before she even thought about saying something. Her face only grew redder when Diego turned to look back at her. ''What do you think you're doing?!'' She whisper-shouted as she pouted and punched him lightly on his chest in protest. ''I don't have time to be hiding away with you here, move!'' She insisted, finally taking a moment to catch her breath after she had thrown a few weak punches his way. ''...Where are we? How did you get here?'' She asked, having regained her composure as she tried to get a clear picture of what they were doing. Diego Ibarra

Despite the circumstances she couldn't help but feel relieved to see Diego again like this. Sure, he was a feared villain now and committing crimes left and right, but he wasn't as corrupted as she thought. Maybe she was just deluding herself, but part of the same old Diego she used to laugh with was still present in his eyes and in the way he acted. Even better, he looked to be in good health. It was probably safe to assume he was eating well and looking after himself. She smirked when he seemingly agreed to a temporary alliance. He probably came to the same realization as her, that they couldn't fight with two wildcards on the loose. She didn't like to ally herself with villains, but in rare cases such as this it might actually reduce the number of civilian casualties. Diego was strong and she knew it, far more of a fighter than she was. These Sango Brothers didn't know what they were in for when the duo of Diego and Luci united once more to take them down. ''Touché!'' She exclaimed, capitalizing on the moment he had given her by slicing into one of the Sango brothers with her talons, covering either side of him in sludge too, so that if he fell he would bounce off the ground and slowly come to a halt like he was bouncing up and down on a trampoline. And even if he didn't fall, it would still be really distracting while they fought. Flying towards the other brother, Lucille honed in on him and tried to draw all his attention, setting Diego up for a potential sneak attack. Diego Ibarra

''Y-Yeah? So what? That doesn't mean I'm going to let you get away!'' Besides, hadn't he technically snuck up on her and had ample time to strike her down? Maybe he was waiting to get the jump on her by activating his quirk, but then why not do it now? She knew his specialty was fighting at close range, so if she took flight that would make things much harder for him. ''Huh?'' She hardly had any time to react before the bomb went off, rescued at the last second by the guy she loved. The guy who had betrayed her. ''Are you okay?'' She blurted out as she landed on top of him, her hands on his shoulders. Once she realized they were a little too close for comfort she quickly sat up again and looked in the direction of the teleporter just like him. ''The teleporter!'' She exclaimed in horror, running over to the wreckage. How was she supposed to get back to her students now? Stellar, Vox, she had to try to contact one of them to let them know what had happened, but for some reason her device was out of range. Was it because they were under the ocean? She turned to face Diego again, entering her battle stance once more. ''Did you do this? Did the Elementalist tell you to capture me alive? I'm not going down without a fight!'' The fact that they were stranded hadn't dawned on her just yet, as she was still a little overwhelmed from everything that had happened in such a short span of time. That, and she had to expect the worst from Diego, even if he was a former friend and her crush. Diego Ibarra

''Yeah, let's get to business.'' She smiled at Mar. ''Bakuretsu!'' Lucille decided to call out, knowing that she was going to draw way more attention to her than Mar once Mar was on the ground. Retsu should have plenty of ways to deal with a flying opponent, so trying to be all sneaky was a moot point. ''This is Phantasmagoria with her Heroes Association, stand down now, we've got you surrounded!'' Given that she was used to raise her voice around the rowdy UA students, shouting over all the chaos wasn't all that difficult. She waited until the dust settled and flew a little closer. Goodness, they hadn't even been that slow getting to the scene and Retsu had already caused this much damage? ''Let's talk. I can vouch for your safety.'' She tried to meet Retsu's eyes with her determined own. She couldn't show her the same kindness she showed other lesser criminals, but she did want to take the non-violent path provided it was an option. If not, then Mar was most likely getting in position to jump her as they spoke. She glanced around her, knowing how destructive Retsu was she didn't want to risk anymore damage be done to the city, or that anymore civilians got swept up in the fighting. If only it wasn't someone like Retsu, she would help with the evacuation efforts herself, but Retsu was a terrible match-up for both her and Mar, and they couldn't risk letting her get away because they split their focus. One moment she had been in the middle of the great battle, fighting to protect her students and bleeding out at the foot of a teleporter. Had she died then she would have died with lots of regrets. Most of all, there was one person she regret hurting. Fortunately, as fate would have it she didn't die, and was even saved by a villain. The problem was that... Well, her savior was a villain. Once Mummy had healed her, as if she was playing some kind of cruel joke on her, she pushed her through the teleporter, leaving the creature alone to do whatever she wanted with her students. Due to the way she was shoved through, rather than step out all heroically, Lucille came tumbling through the teleporter, rolling backwards over herself until she came to a sudden stop. ''That little...'' She whined, rubbing her lower back as she slowly sat up. She inspected her midsection again, finding that the injury really had been healed, but there was a clear tear in her hero suit where she had been clawed. ''Thinks she can do whatever she wants.'' She sighed and stood up, dusting herself off as she still didn't realize she wasn't alone. It wasn't until she stood up and was about to step through the teleporter that she thought to look behind her. ''Waaah!''She immediately took a couple of steps back and raised her fists at him. ''D-D-Diego! What are you doing here? Are you working for the Elementalist?'' Getting over her initial shock she was prepared to throw hands if she had to. Diego Ibarra

It was like he couldn’t even hear her. Was he being controlled? Was someone threatening him? Who was putting him up to this? Where was the Diego she had made so many happy memories with? She looked at his fist as she realized what was about to happen. A gravity attack- she needed to make a move now- Unfortunately there was nothing she could do, feeling the blow against her midsection as she was slammed backwards. It wasn’t all that powerful, not for Diego anyway, but it was still enough to knock the air out of her for a moment. This was bad, should she call in backup? With another hero on her side bringing in Diego and the Sango Brothers together would be a lot easier, but would that hero be too hard on Diego? What if they hurt him, or even went overboard and killed him? She knew she was compromising her mission, but she couldn’t risk it. She looked at the hot air balloons that dotted the sky around her. So many happy couples and here she was, unable to move on, unable to harbor feelings for anyone else. The guy she was in love with only saw her as a nuisance, as an enemy to brush aside while he continued to do evil deeds. It hurt. Her heart hurt more than any of Diego’s remarks, or attacks could. It was because of that pain she knew she couldn’t give up on him. Having taken a moment to catch her breath, she flew forward once more, catching back up with the fighting. ‘‘Everyone, please don’t panic and evacuate the scene immediately! I am Phantasmagoria, I’m with the Heroes Association!’’ She looked back at Diego defiantly, but she knew a fight with him would only get compromised if they had these two idiot brothers on the sideline taking shots at them while their backs were turned. Honing in on the brothers, Lucille tried to attack from the blind spots Diego created with his attacks, hopeful that she could slash one or both of them with her talons while they were busy fending off that fearsome villain. The worst possible person was hiding under that hood. ‘‘D-Diego?!’’ She couldn’t even bring herself to use his ‘villain’ name. She knew he wasn’t beyond redemption, there had to be a way to bring him back to the path of good, to restore those good old days they had lost so many years ago. ‘‘I can’t let you! I need to bring them in, alive.’’ As much as she wanted to see the guy she grew up with in him, she also knew the reality of the situation. She was bound by rules that he weren’t, and there was a non zero chance he was here to kill the Sango Brothers on the scene. The loosened pressure wasn’t lost on her, could it be that he was trying to conserve his power? Her and Diego were like rock and paper, countering each other in different ways, in different scenarios. He could easily force her to land if he so desired, so why wasn’t he? Normally she didn’t have any trouble keeping her cool under tense situations like this, but the presence of Diego had thrown her off completely. Before he could get to the other Sango brother, she would fly forward and attempt to slash at him with her talon. There wasn’t much strategy behind her play other than to do her job… And protect Diego. ‘‘After this, I’m bringing you in too! Don’t think I’ll let you run away just because we know each other!’’ She was trying to be firm and level-headed, but it was clear that her emotions had been thrown for a loop. Diego Ibarra

It was painful how lovey dovey and couple oriented this whole fiesta seemed. If she didn’t know any better, she would think fate or God was somehow playing some kind of cruel joke on her. She knew that wasn’t the case, this was just work, and she had observer bias. Maybe she was just that bit better at spotting the couples because she wasn’t happy in love herself. ‘‘Hero! That’s a hero!’’ Two kids stopped their game and one of them pointed at her. It couldn’t be helped since she had shown up in her uniform. With a smile she waved back at them. ‘‘Phantasmagoria! It’s Phantasmagoria! She was waving at me!’’ The one kid laughed as they started running away while the other interjected. ‘‘Nuh-uh she was waving at me!’’She wished she could have stayed in her spot and listened to more innocent chatter, but her reason for even being here in the first place was to stop criminals. Something which she unfortunately would have to do today. Noticing that something was up she immediately activated her quirk and transformed her arms into wings. Oh well, it beats looking at happy couples with a heavy heart. Following the hooded figure who was suspiciously flying through the sky without any sort of wings or other conventional modes of transportation, she happened across a skirmish by the time she arrived a few seconds after Diego. ‘‘Stop right there! In the name of the Heroes Association I order you all to stand down!’’ She called out, mistaking the hooded figure for one of the Flying Sango Brothers. ‘‘If you don’t surrender now I will take you in by force. Don’t make me repeat myself!’’ She only just managed to finish her demands when she felt a familiar pressure, one that could very easily take her out of the sky, or keep her from flying all together. It was powerful, unimaginably powerful, it almost felt like a natural counter to her quirk. Why was this feeling so familiar? Diego Ibarra

On any other day she would have loved to come down to Saga to enjoy the balloon fiesta for herself, unfortunately she was here as a hero on the job and not as a civilian. Why would a Tokyo hero come all the way out here? Put simply, according to reliable sources one or more villains were going to appear at the fiesta, and with so much of the celebration being related to the sky, it wasn’t unheard of that they might use it to their advantage in some way, or attack the hot air balloons with people in them. Hence, they had called on Phantasmagoria, a hero who specialized in flight and was good at keeping her cool even during emergencies.
But for a celebration like this to be targeted by villains… She had to admit, on the surface it all looked so calm and festive. Civilians of all ages were attending, none the wiser of what lurked in the shadows. Seeing couples walk by she couldn’t help but wonder what it was like. To live a normal life, one free of the pain and troubles that came with heroism. Thinking back on her childhood however, she wasn’t sure if she had much of a choice. Sure, she was adopted by a loving hero mother, but she was never cut out for an office job, and she didn’t really think she had any special skills that didn’t involve using her quirk.
Maybe Diego could have told her, or encouraged her to take another path…
She felt a stinging pain in her chest, remembering how she hurt him in the past. Hopefully he was doing okay and hopefully, one day, she could talk him back to the side of good.

It was always the troublemakers and arrogant ones that were the first to cry foul if they felt wronged, so she wasn't all too surprised that both Rahul and Ylva spoke up. What she didn't expect was how personally Rahul seemed to take being called out. A tantrum like this she would expect from a first or second year student like Ylva, but Rahul was supposed to be in his fourth year and about to graduate, and yet he was making a scene because she told him not to hog the spotlight. Then he supposedly saved Enma from having a panic attack all by himself, despite small training accidents like this being commonplace. Sometimes it felt like she was teaching hero middle school. ''Your complaint has been duly noted.'' She smiled at Rahul. ''That goes for you too, Riis-san.'' She turned her attention to Ylva. ''Being assertive and blunt isn't necessarily bad, but you are all studying to become professional heroes. You need to be able to distinguish between when you should take the initiative and when you should follow the leader.'' The leader in this case being Farrin. ''Don't make your problems other people's problems. Now please,'' she indicated Farrin and took a couple of steps back. ''You're here to learn, let O'Rourke-san lead you!'' She smiled warmly. ''If any of you have a problem with what I said today, we can talk about it later in my office.'' She decided to hang back for a moment and continue observing as she took some more notes, scribbling down this conversation with Rahul and Ylva so that she would remember to log it later. She would have also have to apologize to Farrin for this diversion after the lesson was over. junsuina, enma, 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐲, Kikurage Shimeiji, Farrin, Mafdet Khepri

She chuckled at Khepri's response. ''Nice! That's a good start. That's all I'm just checking in, do your best and make sure to listen to O'Rourke-san!'' She smiled, giving Khepri a reassuring pat on the back to hopefully help them loosen up a bit again. Trauma was never easy to deal with, especially not when the world kept spinning regardless of how you felt. As she watched Khepri ask Farrin a question she shifted her focus to Rahul, walking over towards him. ''Clemente-san, do you have a moment?'' She smiled, motioning for him to follow her a few steps away from the group so they could talk. ''I was wondering whether you and O'Rourke-san planned for you to be co-teaching this class. If so, I wasn't briefed on this and I'll have to reconsider the notes that I'm taking.'' After all, she had only been observing Farrin so far, but if Rahul was helping him teach she would need to assess him too. ''If not, then I would like to kindly ask you to leave the teaching to O'Rourke-san. This is his 'classroom' after all. I know you just want to help, and please do feel free to help your fellow students, but this is technically an ongoing test and I am assessing O'Rourke-san's performance as a teacher.'' She smiled and gave him a thumbs up. ''That is all! She allowed herself a brief moment to relax, but even that was too long on the battlefield. The blood was draining fast from her body even though she was pressing a hand down on her wound. However, when Diego, her one and only love she had lost to villainy came out of the golem, rather than panic or doubt what she was seeing, she simply sighed and made her way up to her feet. ''I can't even rest for a few minutes, how cruel. ~'' She kept one hand on her wound as she stared him down. Fate had a way with playing the cruelest jokes on her. ''Don't try it.'' It wasn't so much her trying to negotiate as it was a warning. ''I'll do anything to protect my students.'' She transformed her free arm into a talon as the Diego clone charged at her. ''I'll even hurt you.'' She said coldly, charging at him to meet him in the middle. She was hurt, and she was scared, but she was also a hero and she knew that she couldn't give up until she took her dying breath. Too many people were relying on her. She thrust her talon at Diego, trying to impale him, but she was too slow for him in her current state. Instead, he retaliated by kicking into her wound, making her stumble and scream out in agony. As he tried to stomp on her head however, she quickly rolled out of the way. Giving up on suppressing her bleeding, she transformed her other arm too as she struggled to make her way up again. Maybe she had to go for the kill after all... Just then, stray bullets that Retsu had fired from elsewhere flew past the mushroom platform and two of them connected with the Diego clone, one flying through his head, killing him right in front of her. She stared at him for another few seconds before deactivating her quirk, and for the first time in her life she understood what Diego must have felt when he watched her die in front of him. How cruel... She stood there for a moment, looking at the visage of her dead crush before collapsing on the spot. Matsu, Jinx, Ylva Riis, Farrin, 𝕐 + 𝕐, Arataki Noa

Oh, Oh dear. That hit looked pretty nasty, but at least Kiku was still feeling well enough to complain about it. She was about to put her clipboard aside, but when more students stepped up to help their classmate she hesitated, and was instead content to observe from the back. Enma was apologizing immediately, and given his track record she found it hard to believe there was any malicious intent behind his attack. As horrible as this little incident was, it was nice to see everyone come together. Farrin, even Khepri who was going through a lot of their own trauma didn't hesitate to offer to take Kiku to the infirmary, and Ylva was showing a lot of progress too. ''Hm? Now, now, I think O'Rourke-san is doing a fine job all on his own. I'm here to observe.'' She smiled, completely unbothered by what had happened. When it came to UAU, students getting injured during training wasn't uncommon, and she had been teaching at this place for years. She had experienced far worse than a punch with a little too much force behind it. She had wanted to speak to both Enma and Kiku, but seeing as Farrin managed to keep the lesson going and Kiku was already getting help, she decided the poor girl didn't need more eyes on her by having a teacher check in right away. Instead, she looked to Khepri and waved them over with a smile. ''Mafdet-san! Could you come over here for a minute?'' She made sure to walk a bit away from the rest of the class so they could talk in private. Out of everyone there, they were the most likely to get overlooked. Not many, if any of these students were aware of what Khepri was dealing with. ''You stepped in to help Shimeiji-san so quickly! That was impressive.'' She put a hand on their shoulder. ''How are you feeling right now? You can be honest with me, a simple thumbs up or thumbs down will do.'' She demonstrated by holding a thumb up herself. junsuina, enma, 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐲, Kikurage Shimeiji, Farrin, Mafdet Khepri
