This was not what Michi had expected to get tangled up in so early into their hero career. Eventually someday as a pro, or maybe even in their final year of UAU when they were doing sidekick work or something. Minor crimes and good Samaritan stuff sure, that was something Michi felt fully prepared to handle even without official training from UAU, but super villain stuff and big scary monsters? Right about now they were wishing they had slept in, maybe called in sick this morning...
Michirou hopped backwards as the monster took another big swing at him and forced him to focus on the present, the impact put a worrying cracking dent in the ground. Eyes and hair both red he bolted forward to try and level as strong a kick as he could muster to try and knock the creature off balance and do some damage... and instead all he really did was make it stumble back a bit and quite literally shrug his Quirk-powered kick off. Landing with a scowl on his face he tried to ignore the twinge of muscle strain, shifting his weight to his other foot warily. How was he supposed to fight these things? Where had the teachers and other students and heroes gone? Well technically he was the one who had gotten lost but he would really appreciate some back up right about now!
A sudden warning being shouted out caught his attention, briefly turning his head and catching a glimpse of someone running towards him when another monster attacking from the side caught his attention and he dropped in a sudden crouch to avoid it taking his head off with a swipe while calling back: "Brain Chain? What're you doin' here?" Arsenal,

Conversation salvaged! Michimi relaxed with a little relieved sigh, giving a slight shake of her head to convey that she didn't come here much. Mostly because it was her first time here ever, but that was a little harder to convey with just a shake of the head. More importantly though Amber approved of the shared cookie, the pink haired girl smiling around the spoon in her mouth. It was nice running across someone who appreciated a good snack, and knew the pain of eating ice cream too fast at that. How people managed not to inhale it when it was so good was something she'd never been able to wrap her head around.
The offer caught her by surprise, blinking and murmuring a quiet "Eh?" in contemplation. On the one hand she wouldn't mind the help, on the other hand she didn't want to impose on Amber's free time if she had such an insane amount of studying to do herself... but on the other-other hand it wasn't imposing if Amber was the one offering in the first place, right? And on the other-other-other hand she was really nice and friendly and Michimi wasn't at all opposed to hanging out with her some more. Glancing down at the plate held out to her with a smile, she took a piece off the cake and gave an enthusiastic nod and a quick "That'd be great!" in reply before popping the bite in her mouth and savoring it with an appreciative hum.
"You have great taste in cake, too! Do you know the menu pretty well here?" Michimi crossed her arms over her chest thoughtfully for a moment before adding. "And if we're meeting up for studying, what kind of time would work best for you?" Arsenal,

Michimi made a face at the mention of grammar that made it clear she wasn't a fan of it herself, but she couldn't be grumpy about grammar when she was busy enjoying her snack. Even though she was splitting her attention and missed Amber undoing her transformed finger, she did catch the little wince and the way the other girl slouched in her seat. "Mm, that's a fair stance I think." She murmured in agreement, popping another spoonful in her mouth. Whatever heavy topics lurked at the edges of this conversation the smile on Amber's face gave Michimi the impression that there wasn't any need to dwell on it.
And then Michimi snapped her free hand up to place her palm over one of her pink eyes, other eye half-scrunched and hissing "ow ow ow" under her breath. Shaking her head lightly from side to side and setting her spoon down she plucked one of the not-freezing-cold cookies from the top of her parfait and quietly munched on it for a moment. Pulling her hand away as the sudden headache subsided as quickly as it had appeared, she flashed Amber a sheepish smile and offered a simple explanation: "Brain freeze, sorry about that... uh, I was going to say something... want a cookie?"
It was probably a silly offer since Amber clearly already had a cake to snack on, but it was what came to mind first. Arsenal,

Peering down at her currently yellow handlebars and the odd little switches on it that definitely weren't just the brakes, Michimi twisted the front wheel from one side and then to the other while staying stationary as she tried to get a feel for the unfamiliar bike. There was nothing wrong with it at all, it just felt a little oversized for her current form. But adapting was what she prided herself on so she didn't make a fuss, instead turning her attention as someone next to her spoke up. It didn't occur to her that the other student was talking about literally which direction, instead giving a quick shake of her head and a smile as she cheerfully replied: "Nope!" To Michi that was half the fun though, finding out the route as they went through it and whatever obstacles might come up.
Her bike shifting from yellow to green, she started to pedal as the group started off. Some tried to race off ahead right out the gate, but Michimi was content to get a feel for it for now. And she kind of wanted to talk to the other student a little more while they had a chance before things got more exciting. So she did her best to keep pace with the cat-like student, giving a laugh at the comment that she assumed was a joke. "Probably red, right? Since blue is going forward?" But then she pursed her lips thoughtfully, letting her bike coast on its own momentum for a moment. "Oh, but Red is usually stop too isn't it..." Mafdet Khepri,

Michimi blinked at the sudden enthusiasm from Amber and the one question that always threw an awkward wrench into any conversation. It was something that came up annoyingly often these days, even if it made sense for college students to be thinking about it a lot, and her answer never seemed satisfactory to whoever was asking. What was wrong with just going into hero work because her folks were heroes and had pretty much told her she was going to be one too her entire life? It wasn't like she hated the idea and was being forced into it, she just wasn't really all that invested in it either?
But thankfully Amber had more to say and Michimi could back-burner that question for now.
Giving a giggle of her own at the Mondays joke, the pink haired girl couldn't help but smile at how passionate Amber was. Sure it was about learning, and maybe a lot of people would have called that lame or something, but she found it endearing and refreshing. She gave a little nod to confirm she had known about mitochondria, even if admittedly it was second hand knowledge from old jokes and it randomly coming up in games and manga and stuff like that, and made an "Ahh" sound about how Amber was playing catchup.
Eyes flicking over to the waiter and the cake for a moment Michimi was reminded of her own order and gave an impatient glance around - she really wanted that fruit parfait right about now! But the question pulled her attention back to Amber and her embarrassed smile, giving a partially reassuring and partially amused smile of her own.
"Nothin' wrong with that. I think for me, it really depends on what it is? Like..." She trailed off trying to think of how to convey how arbitrary seeming her own interest in things could be at times, eyes dropping down to the cake being cut in contemplation. "Like it has to hook me, you know? But once it does I can spend all week learning about it. And... I guess I haven't really found something that'd hook me for my entire life?"
Michimi wasn't sure how much that made sense, or if Amber even recalled asking if she knew what she wanted to do with her life, but thankfully before she could dwell on potentially being embarrassed about it her order was placed down in front of her - a tall glass piled with layers of fruit and ice cream and a big crunchy looking cookies sticking out of the top. Pink eyes lighting up she immediately scooped it up in one hand, other grabbing a spoon and gave a sing-songy "I~ta~da~ki~mas~u~!" before promptly popping a spoonful into her mouth. While she was savoring that first bite she thought of another question, popping the spoon out of her mouth to prepare another scoop before asking: "What about you? Found anything that really hooks you yet?"

Michimi recognized that briefly blank look and self-conscious reaction, often getting really laser-focused on what she was doing and having moments exactly like that. Offering a sheepish smile, she was about to apologize for interrupting when the beginning of a conversation unfolded. "It does..." Michimi side-eyed the pile, hand still propping her head up, before glancing back at the other girl in surprise. That sounded like it was mostly voluntarily excessive homework... Michimi couldn't imagine doing that for anything that wasn't extremely interesting to her. But then again, maybe that was the case here? Nodding along that studying at a cafe made sense, she gave a small smile at the introduction.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Michimi." She brought her head up out of her hand, sitting up properly to talk. "If that was my homework, I'd need a cake break too. Funny though, that's actually the same reason I'm here right now." Michimi shook her head and laughed like it was a joke, but she meant it. Hero School had its rough parts and plenty of studying too but a good amount of it was physical activity that didn't melt her brain. "You like it? The studying, I mean."
Maybe it was a guess that'd miss the mark, but the vibe she was getting from Amber was solidly in bookworm territory. But on the other hand maybe she was just so busy she had to keep ahead of the curve to stay afloat?

As much as their parents had prepared them for hero training all their life more or less, Michi still found themself grumpy about the sheer amount of homework. Which had led to a brief moment of burnout, declaring to their textbooks that they needed some fresh air and heading out for a walk. The way they saw it, if they tried to just power through right now they wouldn't get anywhere and wouldn't benefit from the studying anyways.
Random Play looked like a cozy enough place to catch their, right now her, eye as she passed and the pink-haired girl paused in a moment of debate before popping in. The little bell on the door jingling, Michimi glanced around curiously. Not too crowded, that was nice. "Welcome to Random Cafe!" Another girl greeted from behind the counter, dressed up like a fancy bartender of all things. It wouldn't have been out of place in a restaurant or an actual bar, but here it was just odd enough to be amusing to Michi. "Take a seat and we'll be right with you!"
Michimi did just that, passing by a table with papers stacked on it to take the next seat over. True to her word the girl manning the counter had scurried over to offer a menu and in only as long as it took for her pink eyes to land on the word 'Parfait' before she was placing her order and handing the menu back to Jingjijng. "Fruit Parfait, one with ice cream and a nice crispy kind of cookie if you have it, please!"
With her order placed and nothing to do but patiently - drumming her fingers on the table and propping her head up in one hand in a distinctly impatient way - Michimi glanced over at the table full of papers again before asking: "Big exams?" Arsenal,

For currently being a dagger, Chain Brain sure was expressive. The refusal to spill the beans though prompted Michirou to sigh, so much for trying to give the cops some info over his phone. The sudden warning made him tense up, turning his head warily even as he voiced some more skepticism: "Really, a gun here in Tokyo?"
He stared at the empty space behind him, no victim returned with a gun or anyone at all. No attempted sneak attack came either. Should he not have looked? No, that was just as dangerous as looking half the time. And if the victim really had come back with a gun, the weird reversal of trying to convince them not to shoot the would-be assassin would have been too risky even for him to feel comfortable. He wasn't bulletproof and guns could go off really easily if everything he'd seen in stories and shows was to believe. Not bothering to confirm that Chain Brain had made a hasty escape he brought his phone up to his ear and stood up to stretch his legs. "Uh huh. Yeah, they ran away. Whoever they wanted to kill got away too. Out by the bay, yeah. Called themself Chain Brain, couldn't see their face or anything. Machida Michirou. Yeah sure, I'll stick around."
Michirou had to file a report now, and even though nothing major had technically happened... it was still pretty serious and a drag on such a nice day. They had all the info he knew anyways, so maybe he could just slip away quietly and pretend something came up later. A quick intentional 'side-effecting' of their Quirk later, Michimi was strolling away from the bay and casually telling a passing officer that she hadn't in fact seen any boys named Michirou around. Michirou's expression twitched at being called scared. Of course he was cautious, he didn't know how strong Chain Brain was or wasn't! And it wasn't like it was a sparring match, they were trying to kill someone until he'd interrupted. "Hey, hold on a secon-" He cut himself off with a wary hop backwards as Chain Brain announced their ultimate attack for real this time, hands coming up in front of him to get ready to try and block or deflect or do whatever else he might need to do... only for Chain Brain to turn into a small dagger on the ground.
"Eh?" Michirou glanced down and stared for a few moments before cautiously sliding one foot forward and inching closer. If Chain Brain didn't suddenly lunge at him or transform into something more threatening, he'd do it again until he was beside the flopping dagger, giving the transformed Chain Brain a little nudge with the tip of his shoe if he could. If he still didn't get attacked he was going to squat down with a half-wary, half-curious look on his face and his phone still in hand - the police station on the other end. "This isn't the ultimate move, is it?" He asked just to be certain, even though his skeptical tone made it pretty clear he didn't think it was any kind of ultimate move at all. "Well, anyways, the way I see it is if your goal was to kill that guy, and my goal was to stop you from killing that guy, and that guy isn't being killed for now, doesn't that mean I won? And... why would you want to kill that guy anyway?"
It made perfect sense if you asked him. Not all fights, or even most fights, were about who beat up who harder. It was all about what you were trying to accomplish! But if at any point Arsenal did attack him again he was going to do his best to scurry out of harms way once more. Arsenal,

Michimi didn't mind the headpat or the commentary, but she made a show of rolling her eyes on principle alone anyways. The pleased smile tugging at the corners of her lips gave her away though and so did her delighted tone. "True, it is pretty normal to get..." She trailed off at being told the dorms were on the opposite side of campus, bringing a palm up to smack herself in the forehead. How had she gotten THAT turned around? No wonder she couldn't see it from anywhere over here! Palm still pressed against her forehead she nodded at the offer, falling into step alongside Lucille - trailing just a little bit behind so she could follow her lead. "It's pretty nice, and not yet! But I'm looking forward to fighting classes. The dojo is one thing, but this is like... different!"
She wasn't being vague on purpose but she didn't know exactly how to describe it. Training in a Dojo was fantastic and she adored it, but it was very controlled in a way? Field training, and training in a hero school explicitly for rough-and-tumble fighting against villains sounded like it'd be a lot more... MORE, to her?
"What about you, Au... Arbogast-sensei? Is it fun teaching here?" She glanced over at Lucille, genuinely curious. Lucille Arbogast,

Michirou dodged away with little "Oop" sounds. He didn't know how seriously Chain Brain was trying to hit him or not still, but either being riled up had really messed up their coordination or they were really good at holding themselves back despite being riled up. The latter was actually a lot more concerning. Coming to another pause as Chain Brain pointed a sword at them, he poked his index finger into the '1' button a second time and tilted his head to the side. The senpai sounded really strong, and he didn't doubt there were people out there who could kill him that fast. Or maybe they just had a really lethal Quirk that was hard to deal with?
But the threat of an ultimate move pushed those thoughts aside, Michirou's stance shifting and his expression hardening as he focused on preparing himself... only to blink at the reveal that the victim had escaped, looking around the same way Chain Brain was. "Huh, when did he slip away?" Michirou crossed his arms and brought one hand up to cup his chin between his index finger and thumb as he tried to recall, still holding his phone in his other hand. "It's a good thing they got away, but I really should be more observant than that..." He murmured distractedly, before turning his attention back to Chain Brain. "I guess there's no reason to fight now, since I already won and all."
He gave Chain Brain a good natured smile, but his thumb was ready to dial '0' and finish calling the cops if nothing interrupted. If Chain Brain injured or killed him before they got here was the real concern now...

One corner of Michirou's lips twitched into a hint of a smirk at Chain Brain's reaction. They were the kind of person that was easy to rile up, huh? Then the panicked rambling as he moved to call the police on his phone, Michirou pausing at the mention of a senpai. From the outside it probably looked like he was second-thinking it from the threats, but he was actually just thinking about the idea of an assassin-villain having a senpai. It was something he'd never considered before, always taken for granted in manga and stuff, but if fighters and heroes-in-training like him had senpais... then it was only obvious bad people could have them too, wasn't it?
Blinking as Chain Brain charged him and he snapped back to focusing on the present, Michirou's eyes went wide at the sword-arms and quickly hopped backward to get some distance. Brow furrowing in focus he was going to keep trying to dodge if they kept attacking. They were fast, and that attack didn't feel like it'd been serious and he wasn't sure if it was from underestimating him or from not really wanting to attack a civilian. Which one it was mattered a lot and he'd have to figure it out if he didn't want to get himself killed here... So he finished pulling his phone out if something didn't interrupt him, moving in a deliberately exaggerated way to tap his index finger on '1' as the first number for calling the cops. "I guess I just thought an assassin would look cooler, and act cooler. Maybe you should call your senpai so they can show you how to assassin properly?" Arsenal,

The familiar face calling out her name - and not just Michimi or Michirou, but her official name of Michi - prompted the pink haired girl to turn her head. Recognizing Lucille immediately her eyes lit up and a smile crept onto her face as she brought her free hand up to wave back. "The one and only!" She confirmed only to wince immediately after as the question set in on how obviously lost she apparently looked. Shifting to a slightly sheepish disposition, she brought her hand down to pat at the side of her head. "I guess you could say that, Aun- Lu... uh..." She trailed off for a moment after cutting herself off before saying 'Auntie' and then 'Lucille', trying to remember what the teacher in front of hers family name was for a second. It was only a seconds hesitation before she remembered though! "Arbogast-sensei, that's the one."
Nodding to herself, and telling herself it was totally normal to briefly forget when she never used Lucille's family name much in the first place, she glanced around. "UAU is a lot bigger than I thought and I kind of don't remember where the dorms are?" Lucille Arbogast,
