''You were spinning all over the place.. I think I broke a bone.'' Boy was it not going to be fun dealing with the pain after her adrenaline wore off once this whole thing was over. ''I'm okay, I was a little sea sick but I feel better now.'' Good enough to use her Rollback watch so she could save Emi. In the blink of an eye she vanished and reappeared in a new place, free from the purple tile. ''I did it!'' She was about to turn towards Emi to help her when she noticed the bubble. ''Is that Momo?'' Then her vision started getting all funny. Oh no... As nausea took her, Freja fell to her knees and doubled over, hastily pulling her hair out of the way as her breakfast came back up again. While she was dealing with the side effects from the watch Satan himself had crafted she witnessed Emilia go flying. That wasn't from the berries, right? She was totally fine, right? ''E-Emi.'' She stood back up with some effort, still feeling incredibly nauseous. ''You're okay.'' The berries had worked! Eh, well, sorta. ''Y-Yeah she's in trouble.'' She looked at the javelin, wobbling as she tried to take a throwing stance. ''Should've given me the bat..'' She muttered as she proceeded to miss the bubble with a dozen throws before Emi popped it. Looking further ahead she spotted Noa. Was their teammate about to use a cool new piece of gear that could turn things in their favor? ...Didn't look like it. Someone really had it out for them today. Was every arena group like this, or were they deliberately messing with group 4 for the giggles? Her thoughts were cut short when the villain started singing again, forcing her to cover her ears to be free from the tone deaf nightmare. ''Emi, everyone!! I-If you can hear me!'' Hopefully they could, as she shouted as loud as she possibly could to try and break through the music. ''You're stronger than me, I'll give you an opening!'' She took the pouch of fire berries and downed the rest of the content. She didn't count how many there was, but she made sure to swallow until it was empty. With Emilia as her inspiration, she was going to try and distract the villain by rocket blasting herself up towards him. Sound be damned, booms be damned, she was going to push through all of it, or fail trying! TL;DR: Freja is hit hard with the nausea, tries to help Emi pop the bubble but can't seem to get a good throw in, still salty she didn't get a bat item. In a last ditch effort to stop the villain and the robot she eats all her Firestarter berries to try and trigger the drawback so she can rocket blast herself like Emi did, to get to where the villain is. ''That's not cheating, that's just smart. I guess Tiamat really is worldwide, isn't it?'' Even though Sumi had the possibility of hearing Danish through the overseas Tiamat branch, that didn't make her proficiency any less impressive. A big part of her being this good at pronouncing words already was also in the effort she dedicated to it. The best part was she made it look so effortless. She wasn't a genius for nothing. ''Have you gotten used to the shorter hair?'' At this point she almost forgot what it was like. She had considered cutting her hair many times, but hadn't done it yet out of respect to old Freja. They were sharing a body after all, right? ''Y-Yeah!'' She blurted out, before giggling at how silly that was. ''The official one, a very serious seal.'' She finished with a nod before taking a sip of her coffee. For a moment she considered offering Sumi some of her food, but how weird would that be? She didn't even mean to ask for some of Sumi's. It was offered and she just kind of took the opportunity to try it. She looked back at Sumi to gauge her reaction. She didn't seem to mind at least, and she had offered anyway. Maybe she was just getting stuck in her own head again. ''Hm?'' Before she knew it she had already taken care of the bowls and was headed back to Sumi. ''I was never really a fan of rollercoasters.'' She admitted arms behind her back as they walked. Freja was a fan, Elias wasn't. That was pretty much their dynamic. Freja was the reckless one, Elias was the careful one, and yet he somehow got involved with gangs and all that. ''But I feel the urge to go on one a little later.'' She smiled back at Sumi, greeting the employee that let them onto the sightseeing lift as they boarded. ''That must be the live stage!'' She pointed towards the stage in the distance, beaming. ''It looks so small from here, but this is easily the biggest amusement park I've ever been to.'' She wasn't necessarily afraid of heights, but she had to admit she wasn't a fan of looking straight down. All the more reason to use Sumi as her anchor, not that she needed an excuse to look at her. ''You like traveling, right?'' She knew how Sumi felt about those fancy parties and how they could sometimes become a bit too much, but did she actually like to travel, or did she just do it for the sake of Tiamat? ''You do have a really good eye for those!'' By comparison, Freja was the type of girl to buy new sunglasses and not get a new pair until her current pair was broken and needed replacement. Was that wrong of her? Should she try to be more like Sumi? Like more... Fashionable. ''Huh? Really?'' She looked at Sumi's hair, picturing how difficult it would be to braid it when it was so short. Her brain only caught up once she was shown the old pictures of Sumi. ''That's you?! You look totally different! Uh, but still pretty all the same!'' She recovered with a smile, not intending to sound rude or anything like that. Still, her heart was pounding like crazy. ''Yeah that would get in the way while you work, wouldn't it?'' She perked up at Sumi's pronunciation of havregryn. ''Hey, that's really good! You're a natural.''Normally she didn't, but in the company of her best friend she figured why not and closed her eyes to give thanks as well before eating. ''Mm?'' She finished chewing her food and put her spoon down when Sumi held out her chopsticks. Wasn't this that thing they made a really big deal out of in anime? An indirect kiss? She tried not to think too hard about it and leaned forward, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she took a bite. She could just blame her blushing on the Japanese summer heat, right? ''If you like it? No way it's bland.'' She sat back down as she chewed, eyes lighting up as she gave Sumi a thumbs up. ''It gets the Freja seal of approval!'' She was conscious of her hair, moving her braid so that it wouldn't dip into the milk in her bowl. ''Sightseeing lift? Sounds perfect! Let's us get a good view of everything so we'll know where to go next.'' She took another spoonful and finished chewing before speaking. ''To be perfectly honest I'm glad you didn't say rollercoaster. Some people can do it, but I feel like if I went right after eating breakfast I'd get sick.'' She chuckled. Once they had finished eating Freja offered to bring their dirty dishes to the nearest cleaning station where the staff at the park would presumably wash them later. ''Amusing. I'd like to see you try.'' The gladiator replied with a smirk. In a contest of speed alone, Farrin had him beat thanks to his quirk, as evidenced by the fact that he only barely managed to block the jab that came his way by lifting his blade arm to use as a shield. Even then he staggered back and nearly lost his footing. Freja only caught glimpses of what Farrin was clashing with as all her attention was focused on the other one, the faces one? It didn't matter who she was as long as they beat her here. The bullets made for a dangerous combo with this gladiator guy, considering he could easily corner either her or Farrin alone, and then she would have the perfect opportunity to take them out with a stray bullet while they were distracted. Farrin could handle the gladiator. She knew he could, which made it all the more important she didn't let this lady interfere with their 'duel'. ''O-Okay!'' She nodded, smacking the first round of bullets that was still being slowed out of the way with her bat. ''Don't worry about your back, I've got you covered, just beat the shit out of that guy!'' Was she fast enough to stop bullets like Farrin, like other heroes? No. In the end, she was just a quirkless human. She had no superpower to fall back on, no enhanced reflexes or durable armor. Perhaps that was why she had honed her skills with blunt weapons so much. Dodging was all well and good for her, but it didn't actually keep Farrin safe from the bullets coming in from behind, so she decided to ground herself, planting her feet firmly in the ground as she stared the many faces down. Once they fired, she concentrated every fiber of her being on deflecting what was moving faster than she could realistically perceive, letting her inhumane skills with the weapon guide her, trusting that she could overcome this quirk attack despite her human reflexes. The end result was loud, bullets battering against metal, but none of them had gone past Freja. Panting, she pointed her bat's tip at the woman before firing the grappling hook at her, an obvious, but fast attack. A distraction as she entered into a full sprint to close the gap between them. ''There are people who would pay handsomely to see you dead and buried, Farrin O'Rourke.'' Much like Farrin, this guy wasn't playing around and immediately swung his blade arm at Farrin's neck, attempting to end the fight quickly. ''Perhaps the only way to save yourself is giving up now and joining us.'' He grinned, his propeller hat almost like it was on an egg timer, spun once more, but since the only target close to him was Farrin it landed on him again after a couple of seconds. ''Think about it? Betray that troublesome bat girl for us, betray heroism for us, and you won't have to fight for your life like this. There are others after your head, right? We can make them go away. Did Sumi just call her cute? She blinked her eyes a couple of times, almost choking on her food, but saving it at the last second as she looked away discreetly, red all over her face. ''T-Thank you, you look great too. Relaxed but stylish, it really suits you.'' She looked down at the braid that fell over her shoulder. She had worn the odd dress here or there before, but a braid, this was a first for her. ''I never once considered braiding my hair even though it's so long, but now you made me want to get good at it.'' She smiled from behind her cup as she took another sip. ''Kurigohan? Haven't tried that before is it good?'' She was about to stand up too, but then Sumi offered to pick-up her order too. ''U-Uh, havregryn! Could you get me a bowl of havregryn?'' She put her hands together to express her thanks before turning back to her cup again, Sumi's wink living rent free in her head as she fidgeted with a map of the park. It was such a tiny gesture, but it brought her so much happiness. Thinking back on it, Sumi was good at that. Doing lots of little things that made her unreasonably happy. The odd text here or there could turn a bad day into a good one, and even though she was embarrassed at the memory of getting sick at her place, part of her also cherished it. She had been there for her at a real low point and turned it into a night she remembered fondly. ''Do you plan to ask her?'' Sadako's voice faintly sounded in her head. She wanted to ask Sumi, but she was so scared to hear an answer that would make her upset that she hadn't even asked yet. Like many other denizens of Tokyo, she had seen the broadcast that morning. Dream World, a place that seemed to good to be true, with outrageously low prices and security that made it so it could never turn into an event like what they all experienced with the elemental monsters. She hadn't retained the details so after class she looked it up again, even rewatched the broadcast online, or was it her first time watching it? Had she watched it that same morning, or heard about it from rumors around campus? Somehow it was all so unclear, but it seemed like a fun time. A fun time which could be made even more fun with Sumi. She knew she had to act fast, so she stopped by the support labs to look for her. If she didn't catch Sumi before school was out for the day however, she would simply text to invite her to go. This all led her to the current scene, having free breakfast at Dream World with Sumi. The amusement park boasted with a wide variety of things to see and do, so they had decided to start their day out here early to get the most out of taking a roundtrip around the park. ''For free breakfast, you would expect them to go cheap, but this is quality stuff.'' She picked up her coffee cup with both hands and gently blew on the surface. Sumi had helped her dress-up for the occasion and to say she was scared of getting stains or crumbs on herself would be an understatement. She had never taken such a careful sip of coffee before in her life. ''How do you like to start your day? I usually don't go with anything too heavy for breakfast.'' Somehow she was breathing fire, but it wasn't hurting her to the extend she had feared. Maybe this was what it was like to have a quirk? Watching the speaker melt she felt a great sense of accomplishment well up inside her. Leave it to Sumi to make a flawless gear that would help turn the fight around in their favor. Looking over to see Momo successfully taking care of the other speaker too she cheered, leaving her completely defenseless to what came next. Maybe her takeaway for this arena was that she needed to learn to watch her surroundings? ''E-Emi?!'' If she ever watched the footage of arena 4 back, she was definitely fast-forwarding through the part where her and her roomie went flying onto a purple tile. ''Ooow..'' She groaned, trying to get her bearings, but she couldn't even lift her head to look around them. ''Are you okay? I think this tile makes us heavier.'' Even speaking was straining on her, but to be honest at this point she was hurting in so many places that she hardly had time to focus on it. Then, a brief light of hope when Noa managed to trap the Rocker. She wasn't sure what exactly it was, some kind of gear, but it was impressive nonetheless! ''Great job! We won.. We've won, right?'' He was bringing in a special guest? As in, a teacher was going to show up and congratulate them, right? Looking up, that light of hope she had felt when Noa captured the villain had manifested and taken physical form as a giant ball... Wait- why was it growing legs? When the music started up and the thing began stomping everywhere she went into full panic mode. ''W-Wait a minute, wait!!'' She was yelling, fighting back tears. Why of all times was her and Emi caught on a purple tile now? UAU was definitely trying to kill all of them here today. ''Emi, Emi!! Here!'' She fought against the gravity with all her strength to roll a few Firestarter berries towards Emilia. ''Eat them, they're safe! They cure nausea.''They didn't, but Freja had convinced herself they did. ''I'll get you out of here before that thing flattens us, just stay right there!'' She looked down at her Rollback watch? How long had she been stuck on this tile? With the stomping disco hell descending on them she had totally lost track of time. Might as well roll it back far and try her luck! TL;DR: Freja gets thrown onto the purple tile with Emilia, panics when the special guest appears and decides to offer Emilia some of her Firestarter berries, promising her they will cure her nausea. Then, she activates her Rollback watch once again to try and teleport back to a time before she landed on the purple tile, in the hopes that she can help save Emi before the disco ball steps on her. She had a total out of body experience for a split second after using the watch, but then found herself standing upright again. ''I-It worked! I did it!'' She celebrated prematurely, arms above her head in excitement. A small victory was still a victory after all. Then she took her first step forward and immediately felt her whole world spin. She was reminded of that one time when she was little and she went on a wild carrousel with her parents. She had just had cake moments before, but insisted to go on the carrousel anyway. At this rate she was going to stumble and fall over again, good thing she had her bat to support herself on. ''Oh.''She only realized her mistake seconds before she stumbled and fell again. ''T-Time out I need a minute.'' She pleaded to no one in particular as the tiles became even more powerful. Lightning and flames? Were they actively trying to kill them off? ''This is the worst.'' Hopefully Emilia and Noa were doing better. At least it looked like the bat thief Momo had made her way up to one of the speakers. ''And a one, and a twoooo..'' With some effort she got back onto her feet, cursing under her breath for using the watch and making herself sick. The path to the second speaker was somewhat clear, right? All she had to do was avoid the murder tiles by listening to the music and not let her motion sickness get to her. She probably looked ridiculous making her way across the dance floor, but she had to do something to be useful to the team like everyone else. She couldn't even tell how far away the speaker was, was it close enough? At this rate if she got any closer she might get attacked by elemental tiles at worst, or completely locked into a purple tile at best. It was time, she had to risk it all on the red berries. Dragons could usually breathe fire at a range, right? How long was her range going to be? Was it far enough to reach the speaker? She hoped so and just to double down on her gamble, she stuffed her hand into the pouch and fished out a handful of berries, eating them all at once. ''Take this! F-Fire attack!'' She shouted at the other speaker. Time to make Sumi proud!! TL;DR: Freja battles her motion sickness, tries to get close to the other speaker, but hesitates due to the dangerous light up tiles on the dance floor. Freja let go of a breath she didn't know she was holding, looking at the gladiator, then back at the face in the alleyway. No crows... Were these people working for The Spiders? It pained her to see Farrin hurt his knee, but she also knew she had no time to drop her guard. Heck, if anything he got hurt because she simply wasn't fast or alert enough on her own. The gladiator remained stone cold, expression unchanging as he had failed to assassinate Farrin all in one go. ''There are three ways I like to have my sandwich. Refridgerated, toasted, or open-face.'' He finally turned his glare on Farrin, his expression still just as serious. ''You avoided certain death, most impressive! If I could take us across time and space, indeed, I would prefer to fight you in the Colosseum.''His propeller helmet began spinning once more, then he guarded his jaw against Farrin's first jab and the next two phased right through him as... Click!The arrow came to a sudden stop, pointed at Freja this time. He then quickly brought his bladed arm around to try and cut her, but she managed to deflect the blow this time with her metal bat. ''My quirk is called Do Or Die...'' He looked over his shoulder at Farrin, the propeller arrow spinning and clicking back on him as he turned to face him, turning his back completely on Freja. ''It locks you into a duel you cannot hope to win.'' He lunged forward, throwing a feint at Farrin as he made it seem like he was trying to impale him again, when in actuality he brought his knee up instead, attempting to kick some air out of Farrin's lungs, should he be successful. ''He's impressive that one, Farrin O'Rourke.'' Another voice spoke up and Freja turned to look on the roof just above the alleyway, where a long-haired woman was lounging. ''Of course you're not too bad either, Freja Helt, otherwise you wouldn't have survived this long. How many of us have tried and failed to kill you? Three? How embarrassing.'' She laughed to herself. Freja only ever remembered fighting two assassins sent by The Spiders. That giant one alongside Farrin and the bear trap one with Kenta. Nevertheless, something else was on her mind. ''What did you do to Tomio?'' She pointed her bat at the villain like she was aiming a gun. ''Oh? Your little grandpa is fine don't worry about him, hiding the body is such a hassle, he's hardly worth the kill. I just wanted to get to know you and Farrin a little better. And I already know you. Very well, in fact...'' The woman jumped down into the alley to face Freja, touching the wall behind herself as she landed, making more faces appear. Students from campus, people her and Farrin might have met at the grocery store or while exploring the city. It was a whole catalogue of faces. ''Y-Yeah, the one with the bat.'' She smiled awkwardly, handing Jun her change. Maybe this was what it was like when people were just remembered for their quirks and nothing else? Nevertheless, she was happy to help fund future projects for the business department. ''Grilled tilapia?'' Her eyes lit up at the fish merchant, happily taking some. ''Thank you. ~'' With how unique Khepri looked she at least felt like she would remember talking to someone like them. While she was already accepting food from others she also got a pastry from Momo. Just how much food had people brought to this barbeque? ''Thank you! Red Girl, right?'' She couldn't help but notice the cast and relate. The hero course was a fierce beast. Seeing the tall blond approach she gave an affirming nod. ''Yeah, the money goes to the business department.'' His face seemed familiar somehow, but she hadn't seen him in class before. ''Have we met before? What year are you?'' She asked Shinto, trying to place where she recognized him from. Maybe she had just seen his face around campus? With the amount of food that was piling up on her tray she finally decided to start eating her way through it. At this rate she wouldn't even have to go back for seconds. ''Yo Kenta!'' She waved, quickly swallowing her mouthful of food before she continued. ''How's the channel? Did our fight go viral?'' Out of context it probably sounded like her and Kenta had beef, but in reality they had been attacked by a villain while livestreaming. It was a scary experience, but she found that making light of the situation now helped her cope. Khepri was nothing if not hyper. The music was grating on the ears, if only because it was so loud she could hardly hear herself think. They were probably a weapon that amplified the rocker's power, but that also made them a weak spot they could target. Could her fire berries burn a speaker? If only she had gotten a bat. If she had a bat she would feel a lot more confident. She could only imagine how everyone else felt. It must be weird for them to not have access to their quirks when they were so used to it. To her this was just another Tuesday. Well, save for the zombie-like mass of civilians, the evil rocker and the blaring music. She squinted when she looked down and saw the floor light up, blinking in time to the music. Were the teachers suddenly going easy on them? It wasn't ideal lighting, but it was lighting all the same, suddenly it was so much easier to see ahead of them. Without really thinking about it she pressed on, stopping on a blue tile to quickly assess the situation. Emilia and Noa were still behind her, Momo had charged ahead too... Was the AC on? She could have sworn she was sweating a moment ago. She started to shiver as she looked around frantically. A cold quirk?! Was she being targeted? She quickly turned back to the Hamburglar girl to warn her. ''Look out! There's-''Only to see her collapse on a purple tile. Knees first too that had to hurt. ''Are you okay?'' She called out, wait- what was that on her arm? A stick? A bat??? No it couldn't be, what were the odds? Why was it tied to her arm, was her arm broken? Why had they allowed this poor girl to sign up for the arena in the first place? She was hugging herself to combat the cold, she could feel her whole body shake, even her voice. ''H-Hey i-is that a bat? I'm actually really good with bats maybe we could- AH!''Right. The brainwashed civilians were still after them. The concert-goer successfully managed to ram into her from one side as the Hambatler shouted out her order from the other. ''Huh what? What are you doing?!'' She successfully acted as a springboard for Momo, although a rather unstable one as seconds later she slammed face first into the blue tile under her. Blue, purple, red, yellow... These colors weren't just random. Of course she would have loved to really sit down and dissect what the dance floor was all about, but if she didn't move she was going to get pinned down and become a burden on the rest of the team. Looking to her wrist she set the timer back and activated it. ''Please work, please work, please work, please work!!'' She braced herself, shutting her eyes as she let the item work its magic. TL;DR: Freja helps Momo springboard forward, gets rammed by concert-goer on a blue tile and decides to use her watch gear to try and get back to a point in time a few seconds back where she was still standing up.
