He did it. He actually did it.

Much like with the thrown kukri, Elijah was able to land a hit, feeling the impact travel through his arm to his shoulder. More direct this time. He was improving.

Not improved however was his reaction time once he came out of his melded state. If Lone Wolf followed through with smacking the freshman with his gun, he probably would've been down for the count. He was fragile like that; meant for quick dispatches, not prolonged fights.

Only his eyes shifted from the weapon to the man holding it. "I already failed this exercise. As you surmised, I would've been dead had you been using real bullets. I saw no point in continuing as I was when nothing would've come from it."

Slowly, Elijah rose. Put some distance between himself and the instructor with two steps back before tucking his hands in his pockets. "I did hit you though. You now have information to give me as part of the deal."

Mark put his pistol away, looking over Eli and nodding. "Fair enough. Let's get you to the nurse first, try to get a handle on all the welts you're gonna have. I have no doubts movin' is gonna be hard for a few days," he says, indicating that Eli should follow him. If he does follow, Mark will come out and say, "I can see the future." Which was a bold faced lie, but Mark was confident about it. He couldn't actually see the future, but he could make pretty accurate predictions. This was further reinforced by his actual quirk, but there was always a margin of error. Whether or not Eli called him out on it was up to him, but if he demanded proof he could always give the bullshit answer of, "It's not precise, and the future is constantly changing. If it were reliable, do you really think you would have managed to hit me?"

His eyes remained on the hero for a while. Was the man the kind to trick him into letting his guard down? Was he still being tested since they were both still standing? Not anymore it seemed, by the way his instructor put his gun away. When Lone Wolf signalled for him to follow and began the walk to the infirmary, Elijah sighed. He let himself trail behind with slow movements so he didn't aggravate some bruise suddenly.

And there was the Quirk. No wonder many thought Lone Wolf was Quirkless; he must be able to keep his visions to himself. He didn't even need to bring his excuses out. Elijah came to the same conclusion without hearing it. "What an unreliable power. You may as well be Quirkless when the future's never set in stone."

But at least the hero honoured his end of the deal. Elijah took a breath, then a sharp sigh at the pain the action caused him. He's gonna be lying down for a while.
