arrin walked away from the support labs with quite a smile framing his face. Maybe he wasn't wielding a lightsaber like he and Zenkai had hoped, but what did it matter? Everyone's quirks were changing to abilities not unlike those of the Force from that old and awesome Sci-Fi, Star Wars. Farrin had been gifted with one of the most iconic powers of the dark side, electricity spinning between his fingers. Luckily, unlike the old series, the use of the ability wasn't drawing him to some dark side. 

He was going to have to find out how to get his actual quirk, Chronokinesis back, but shooting lightning from his fingers would certainly do for now. The time-turner, now lightning thrower, was moseying across the university's training grounds where other students were playing with their own newfound quirks. Some had enhanced speed, others telekinesis, and a few had some sort of precognition. Whatever divine powers were playing with the world now, they were certainly a Star Wars fan. 

Coming up the hill where he usually trained, Farrin found himself relatively clear of potential bystanders. "Alrighty then, let's give it another go," he spoke lowly, then cast his hands ahead. Lightning arced from his fingers and scorched the grass at the top of the hill. All that remained of the small patch he targeted was a small splotch of charred black and flames. Luckily, they were small enough that Farrin could stomp the fires out. So the lightning was in fact hot enough to dry the greenery it came into contact with, then set it ablaze. If he was stuck with lightning he had to know its limits. There were others who had lightning quirks in the past, but the bolts they fired didn't always move quite as real lightning or sometimes didn't burn as hot even if it looked exactly like the natural thing. He needed to conduct more testing.

'Give a man enough money and he'll walk through hell barefoot.'

"Let a geek reshape the earth and they'll throw everyone they know into hell for ya," Jo mumbled aloud to herself while heading onto the training grounds. This clearly had to have been the case, someone must've thrown their entire family or loved ones or something into a volcano and some eldritch lord granted their wish.

What omnipotent force will decide to reshape the world, by giving everyone some abilities based on some old IP that only people who like nostalgia bait enjoy? That series had to be at least over a hundred now and let's be real it doesn't have the best reputation, especially near its end when they shot the dang thing in the head and let it fall.

Ah well, it could be worse, everyone could have screwdrivers and talk about how people don't understand the genius of it all.

So this was her life now until she broke her neck and went back to her real one what are ya gonna do?

"Hey Windy!" Jo called out until she saw the man scorch the earth with lightening from his fingers and she decided to stay quiet at that moment. The last thing she needed was to be the next small patch that he let the thunder reign down upon.

t was a good thing Farrin couldn't read minds. Had that been the new quirk he was blessed with, he and Josephine would have some words - or some fists - exchanged over those shots taken at the age-old gold that was the Star Wars! Instead, with his hands flushed out skyward, he launched another barrage of lightning. This time, he willed the individual bolts left, then zagged them right. His control was far from perfect, but he could redirect them to some extent. Useful in a scrap. 

Farrin turned to Josephine's voice. "Oi, hey there, lass. What's the craic - eh, I mean, how's it goin'?" He asked, pausing a moment to see if she would display her own newfound power of her own volition. Impatience got the better of him, though, so he followed up with another question. "So, what quirk the divine see it fit ta' bless yuh' wit' now?" 

So far, there wasn't a single soul that didn't appear unaffected by these weird changes. A part of Farrin longed for his chronokinetic ability's return. It was weird moving at slow-mo Joe speeds like everyone else. But 'force lightning' or whatever it was called now was something he could get used to. No drawbacks aside from his heated fingers, too. Temporal sifting, chronokinesis's toll, weighed heavily on Farrin most nights. To never experience that again, well, maybe things weren't so bad as they were now. 

"Yuh' did experience a change like e'eryone else, no? I haven't met anyone yet today that has the same quirk they did yesterday."

"I can push things with my mind?"

The answer came out as a question because if Jo was being honest, she wasn't entirely sure how this worked. Were there telepaths in the IP, if you put a gun to her head and told her to name ten characters throughout the whole thing she'd probably be able to name three of the robots and hero guy and that was about it. Oh and the big villain daddy dude...

In other words that was only five so she was still likely going to get a bullet in her face from the person asking the question.

She looked up and watched him make the bolts dance in the air for a bit before like a firework they simply fizzled out. Now initially Josey was looking at the boulder nearby and was going to turn it into pebbles.

That was until she realized that would be a very stupid thing to do and give away everything that she had been hiding. So instead she decided to stare at a singular pebble on the ground.

Soon the pebble began to rise into the air specks of dust falling off it. Looking over at windy she smiled and nodded while still keeping an eye on the pebble.

"Looks like I can pick up things too."

h so she had telekinesis like Zenkai, though Josephine did seem less sure of herself. Whether that was due to her ability or Zenkai's generally boisterous confidence remained to be seen. Meanwhile, they did have things to figure out. What were the true potentials of these abilities and would they be truly viable replacements for their former quirks? As much as Farrin enjoyed the lightning, Chronokinesis was often described as a generic jackpot quirk, and with good reason. 

"Well them, Jo, let's put these new powers ta' the test," he said, waving Josephine along to follow. 

Down the hill, back toward the center of the training fields, a number of training dummy bots were lined up. Few were fighting back, most were withdrawn to tank the hits the students were dishing out with their new abilities. Everyone needed to test their new upper limits. Now it was Farrin and Jo's turn (not that he knew she was holding back).

When they arrived, a series of five bots stood lined up and unattended. Poor unfortunate robotic souls were about to feel the wrath of the dark side... not that Farrin was actually dark. "Looks good as any. C'mon, let's see what we can actually do." Farrin flushed his hand forward and released a single bolt which crashed into the leftmost dummy. Sparks flew, and the concussive force behind the blast knocked the bot into the ground. Cold, resilient steel warmed red, then blew open entirely. The machine was still mostly intact, but no average crook was taking that and getting up anytime soon.

Well, it seemed some people were completely okay with God taking the omnipotent eraser and changing out everyone's situation. Jo unfortunately wasn't one of them, how exactly was she supposed to deal with this situation? It was one thing when it was the quirk ya know spent an entire lifetime figuring out and hiding.

It's a whole other thing when you get something brand spanking new and ya have no idea how tough it is cause you've immediately been put on the spot and are surrounded. So it was best to do what she always did in these situations.

She watched him launch his lightning and needless to say windy innate power within him let itself be known. Of course, the others in the area noticed and acknowledged as he deserved to be acknowledged.

This however was bad for her, more people were focused on his results which meant more people were eventually going to be drawn to her own performance.

"Good job windy, Thor would be proud!" Jo gave a couple of claps while looking at her own bot before her.

"I dunno, I'm suddenly having a moral compass about messing up one of the bots."

Jo spoke hoping to find an out. I mean it's not like a teacher or something was telling them or requesting the action.

 quizzical crook of the brow was aimed Jo's way. She didn't seriously believe the machines were about to revolt and take over, did she? That was all in jest last time. She had to know that. Sure, advancements in technology were both great and dangerous, but the rise of the sentient machine was surely some ways off still. 

"Eh, yuh sure 'bout that?" He asked, "It's probably fer' the best we train wit' these new power here n' now, rather than chance havin' ta' learn 'em on the fly later on. What if our former quirks dun' return ta' us? Could prove fatal not ta' know what yer' fully capable of." 

He wasn't going to force her to display the full extern of her new abilities. It was Jo's decision to make, not his, but it seemed a risky decision at the very least. The whole point of the school was to train where their lives weren't on the line. If her new powers didn't prove particularly strong, she could train it. Quirks were like muscles and all that. If it was too powerful she could learn to regulate it.

"Yer' no' actually feelin' bad fer' the bots, are yuh'? Yuh' know they're no' aware o' anythin'. Just bits o' programmin' tellin' 'em ta' do this or that. Nothin' ta' worry 'bout on that front. They dun' even feel anythin'." Hopefully that would put her mind at ease, but if not, she was free to opt-out. Nobody would force her. 

"Still, if yuh' rly dun' want to, that's okay I guess. I just think it's goin' against yer' own best interests."

"No offense but if someone were to draw a happy face on a lamp sitting in the garbage I'd likely end up feeling for bad for that too."

JoJo spoke smiling. Windy had given her the perfect out in that moment. Would she look like a chicken and a pansy to everyone else in the immediate area?

Absolutely!

Though who cares, the further she led everyone away from her actual strength it was perfect! No longer having to worry about this or that. Now it was time to lay it on a little more and hook the last measure. Jo headed towards the bot a slight stagger in her step. Looking towards Windy a small sad face appeared on her face.

"Ya see windy, whether it a bot or not ya can't help but feel-"

JoJo was about to make her point until she accidentally put a plan up to the bot behind her. In a moment's notice, the bot went flying like a cannonball. Slapping a couple of times against the ground and soon it crashed into the wall on the opposite side of the grounds.

"...oops."
