Right in the thick of things as always. Sho wasn't alone this time however as somehow he had ran into Freja Helt once again. She was out doing vigilante things and he, as a civilian, happened to be in the area. [break][break]

The Elementals created a perfect opportunity for chaos. The damage to infrastructure made it so it was harder for heroes to respond in a timely manner and there was no better place for this than where The Rumbling occurred. Damaged buildings, destroyed roads, and countless deep craters meant that if a villain could block the only viable paths they could wreak havoc. Which was exactly what they were dealing with.[break][break]

A villain with ice powers was going wild in the center of Nerima having put various ice barriers around the area. "Freja strike fast and hard, don't stay still" he called out jumping out of the way of another ice block coming his way. If he used his quirk he would definitely be identified as Gyrfalcon if there was anyone observant watching. He would slice through another block as he trie to get closer to the woman who was shouting her name over and over again; The Ice-ekiel.

The ruins of Nerima were still all too familiar to her. She still remembered the anguish she felt when they first found Emi. She didn't even know her voice could make sounds like that. Currently taking cover behind an ice wall that had almost crushed her moments prior, she was looking up at Sho for directions. It was getting so cold that she could see her own breath, could Sho feel it too? Was he weak to cold type quirks? How was he so fearless in the face of danger?

Her mind began to wander, but before she could be sucked into a cold induced daydream, he snapped her out of it. ''R-Right!'' She patted herself down, shook her arms and legs, anything to bring a little bit of warmth back. She had to get closer to Ice-ekiel. It wasn't hard to assume that she was in charge considering how proudly she was shouting her name. Freja lurked, waiting for her opportunity and just as the villain threw an ice block at Sho she ran around the other side, sprinting to try and get to the middle before the ice villain noticed her.

With one good strike she could probably end this, that was all she had to tell herself. Soon she would be back home with a warm tea and this would all be behind them. Heck, maybe her and Sho would laugh about it the next time she came to the dojo.

If Ice-ekiel wasn't as powerful or Sho could have used his quirk he probably could have ended the fight in one strike. One slash through the air and the light would leave her eyes. This however was too public and he was a civilian in this case, using his sword for self defense. If anything Freja had more of right to be the aggressor as she was a UAU student. So he'd need to function as support for the time being.[break][break]

Surprisingly observant given her penchant for shouting her name over and over again. The villain would fire off a rapid barrage of icicles towards Freja which Sho saw coming from a mile away once she turned her head. He would kick off the ground, holding his sword in reverse-grip style, before releasing what would look like instantaneous slashes to shred the ice to bits using rapid sword movements that made it appear that he only swung his sword once. It was a taxing maneuver that required his maximum speed and stamina output, but it was better than letting Freja get skewered.[break][break]

"Pump yourself up" he'd pant as the cold in the air made his breath visible "Even if you avoid the ice we still have to worry about the cold, I'm just a civilian so I don't have the same pull as you do as a UAU student." it was a bit of a burden to put on Freja but she should be able to handle it.

She had entirely misread the opportunity she had committed to, pretty much dealing with what amounted to an instant counter when the icicles came flying towards her at a speed she could only describe as too fast for comfort. Closing her eyes, she braced for cold death, only to open them and find that Sho had somehow closed the gap and intercepted the attack. He was right. He would get in way more trouble than she would. Civilians really didn't have it easy in this world.

''Anytime I try to get close to her, it's like she knows exactly what to do to keep me away.'' That old Freja fire quirk would have been real handy right about now. Maybe if she aimed a grappling hook shot at her? No, she could just protect herself behind another ice block. Not to mention, running and aiming a grappling hook shot was not easy, and nowhere near as powerful as her just striking the villain with her bat up close. ''The heroes are on their way, right?'' Her thoughts fell back on comfort. On the idea that no matter what, help was coming, but it wasn't going to help them here and now.

''Any ideas on how we can get close? I can use BBB to try and hit her, or fly right into her if I aim it right, but a well-placed ice block counters that immediately.'' She was really wracking her brain to try and find a way out of this one. If only Sumi was here, she would think of something, or Emi, she would just tank this ice no problem, probably even throw it back in Ice-ekiel's face.

The ice villain continued to cause chaos, upset with the idea that someone could block her attack. She would shake the growing frost off her fingers to keep her going. Her quirk really sucked when it came to efficiency if she wasn't able to resolve her "problems" quickly she would slow down considerably or need a break. The swordsman was a pain, but the real target was the girl. There was something about her that she didn't like to an instinctual level. Could it be the vestiges of her fire quirk? Or at least the quirk in her body.[break][break]

This focus on Freja wasn't going unnoticed. Luckily because of his skill with swords it wasn't too suspicious that he was good in a fight. Hell, his own master was even stronger than he was and could definitely resolve this even faster. "The grapple?" he thought to himself for a moment before coming up with a tentative plan "If you grapple towards her she'll probably just use more ice. Keep moving I think there's something off with her. She keeps pausing longer between attacks." right after he said this another wave of ice would fly towards them this time as a circular spinning saw. Sho would grab Freja by the waist and move out of the way once more, just barely able to dodge it entirely. "I'm gonna count until the next attack. Get towards cover I'm gonna to see if I can draw her attention." a two-fold maneuver to see how long it would take her to recover and if she had a personal grudge against Freja. Both could be used to their advantage.[break][break]

She hated opponents like this. The type where getting close to them was near impossible and all she could do was run around like a headless chicken like she was playing a game of the world's deadliest dodgeball. That's how it felt anyway. ''Mm. It's my bat's hidden function.'' She pointed to the bat in question. ''She's pausing?'' She looked back out towards the villain. She hadn't even noticed that, could it be that she was actually overextending her quirk and using up too much of its power fighting them? If so, they could reasonably win this battle of attrition like Sho proposed, so long as they could stay in the game and avoid getting hit.

She yelped when an ice wave came for them, not just any either, but a spinning saw attack?! How was it that her attacks kept getting more and more intimidating the longer this fight went on? She was still breathing like she had never tasted oxygen by the time Sho had taken her to safety. ''Okay.. So that changes everything!'' She focused on stabilizing her breathing as she got into a stance where she was ready to run for her life. ''I'll run to that one!'' She pointed to a nearby car, looking back at Sho one last time before she took off. Several months ago she could never have pictured herself in this scenario, but here she was all the same. Was he right? Was it working? She couldn't help but sneak glances towards Ice-ekiel just to catch if she was prepping another attack.

She may not have been able to hear them, but their strategy planning session didn't go unnoticed. They were the only ones in the area that were putting up any sort of fight so she needed to eliminate them as fast as possible. How else would she turn Nerima into her ice kingdom? The destroyed buildings and roads should have been enough to keep any heroes at bay and yet she was fighting two of them at the same time. Well, one but it wasn't like she knew that. [break][break]

"Yup. As long as the two of us avoid getting frozen, she'll eventually run out of stamina...hopefully" he couldn't be too sure but it seemed like the most likely win condition. This time it took her 35 seconds to recover which was at least 10 seconds longer than before. Once Ice-ekieal was ready she'd rise further into the air, creating an ice pillar for a better vantage point. The swordsman was standing in the open but she was focused on the other one, with a swipe of her hand she would send a large vertical slide towards the car in an attempt to cut it in two. "It's coming! Move Freja!" Sho would shout as he began to advance on the ice villain. If she continued to focus on Freja he would make sure that she couldn't ignore him by getting into close combat range. [break][break]

Avoiding getting frozen when fighting the ice queen? How hard could it be? As she dove behind the car she inspected her hands for a moment. They had gone red by now, burning with agony, so much so that she figured if she dropped her bat now she wasn't sure if she could pick it up again. Her feet were cold too, never mind running, even just standing hurt immensely.

She didn't see Ice-ekiel raise the ice pillar up, but she definitely heard it. With terror painted on her face she looked up at the attack as Sho called it out. ''Shit!'' It took using all her energy to shift in place and jump out of the way, her legs and arms feeling more like frozen stumps that were weighing her down with each passing second. With a tumble she rolled out of the way, breathing heavy as she struggled to get onto her stomach and push herself up to her feet again. ''What's your deal anyway?!'' She shouted at Ice-ekiel, blinking her eyes, something she would soon come to regret as she could feel her eyelashes fighting against her, almost like they were about to freeze over too. The cold was spreading and it was spreading fast. She didn't even know where Sho was anymore, but his plan seemed to be their only hope. Holding her bat at the ready, she kept her attention focused on Ice-ekiel, ready for another attack to get thrown her way.

The cold was definitely getting to a point where they wouldn't be able to take it anymore. The only reason Sho was able to tolerate it was due to her own experiences. Training as much as he did his master didn't stop at just the basics instead opting to have him practice in inclement weather. The blizzard training up north was definitely coming into play now. He could focus his mind on his blade and take deep breaths in order to phase out the lingering cold sensation.[break][break]

Running forward with his sword in hand, he would turn back towards Freja, watching her slowly succumb to the icy vapor. She looked like she was going to pass out and she was trembling, not in anticipation or fear but the cold seeping into her body. He'd skid to a halt which was a bit harder on the ice and would whip his head around "Freja use your bat! Pump yourself up" he'd mimic using the flat side of his blade to smack his forehead. He knew that this maneuver inflicted enough pain to shock yourself back into focusing and was frequently used in martial arts to keep yourself going. [break][break]

As for Sho had was now moving forward at a quicker pace, sending all of his intent to strike the woman down in order to pull her away from Freja. It seemed to have worked as the woman was now looking at him. She had used too much energy earlier so she couldn't attack him right away, mentally counting down the seconds until she could throw something at him as a deterrent. Sho, who wasn't going to let this go unnoticed, would yell back at Freja "Now's the time! Move in, we'll attack from two directions."

She was ripped from her daydream once more. That was David's voice, the memory where he handed her, well, Elias at the time, a knife. Elias never went through with it, but it was still something that haunted her to this day. Why was she thinking of stuff like that now of all times? She didn't have time to be zoning out. ''Pump?'' She looked down at her bat and took a deep breath. This was going to hurt. Closing her eyes she braced and whack!

It wasn't hard enough to knock herself out, but she undoubtedly had a big red spot on her forehead now, and she could definitely feel the pain. ''T-Thank you, Sho-san!'' Seeing Sho move in on the villain and hearing another callout she already knew what they had to do before he finished his sentence, as she took off into a sprint spinning the bat around so that she was ready to swing the second she came within range.

She had put the two of them through a frozen hell of pain, now it was their turn to dish out the payback. Hopefully the school wouldn't be too upset at her for getting involved with another villain again. If they asked she could just say she was preoccupied with protecting Sho, right? He was a defenseless civilian after all. At least on paper.

Sho smiled back at Freja taking his advice to heart. Had she decided to use a bladed weapon instead of a bat he was sure she would have already surpassed him. Quirkless or not she was more competent than she thought she was and this just proved it. Some would have hesitated to strike themselves especially in the heat of battle.[break][break]

Ice-ekiel grumbled to themselves flexing their fingers over and over again to jumpstart their quirk. At the last minute, she was able to generate some energy, but the two of them coming from completely different directions meant that she only had enough juice to chose a target. Even if that feeling of contempt from Freja didn't go away she viewed Sho as more of a threat. Bringing her pillar up higher she's send a wave of hail-like bullets down at him. If he was fast enough to cut the bigger ones apart lets see if his fancy sword skills could deflect a rain of bullets. [break][break]

Sho would respond in kind, kicking himself into second gear as he used fancy footwork and a few well-timed deflections he would avoid nearly all of them except for one the caught his shoulder. It would immediately freeze over the wound and he'd lose feeling in that arm. Quickly swapping his sword to his free hand he'd continue his advanced, taking his sword in reverse grip once more and slicing through the ice pillar and then doing it again and again. With Ice-ekiel feeling every stroke of his sword she decided to leap off the tower, unable to use her quirk at the moment but at least she'd be safe. Well that was unless Freja had anything to say about it.

The adrenaline was pumping through her at full throttle as she raced in to close the gap, she only briefly registered that a hail of ice descended on Sho because while she was worried for him, she also knew she wasn't fast enough to stop any of them. What she could do however, was use this chance he had given her to strike down Ice-ekiel. ''You're not going anywhere!'' There was real anger in her voice as she watched the villain leap from the ice tower. She was pissed, she was done with this whole thing. She wanted nothing more than to take a long warm shower and wrap herself up in a blanket and cry for the next couple hours.

But first, Ice-ekiel was going down.

Bringing her bat around, Freja shifted her momentum as she readied a full-on homerun swing. It was lined up perfectly, all thanks to the opportunity Sho had given her. At this current angle she was probably going to send Ice-ekiel flying into a wall if she hit her, but none of that mattered. She couldn't afford to hold anything back, she needed to put everything she had into this next swing, and she did. It wasn't just an attack against the villain, it was a last ditch effort to end the fight and come out victorious. She was pulling out all the stops as she swung, aiming for Ice-ekiel's midsection as she let out a battle cry, releasing emotions that had been building inside her since the beginning of this grim fight.

The results of their combined efforts were happening quickly. The ice woman had made the choice that he expected her to do, especially once she realized that he wasn't just an average civilian as was capable of cleaving through the ice she made. Sho wasn't going to just back off, he was already on the move heading towards where Freja was setting up what would be a homerun. Literally.[break][break]

Ice-ekiel was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Of course there just happened to be two people here that could not only tolerate her cold but even break through the effects of her quirk. She could see the girl winding up getting ready to swing at her but fortunately she had a secret weapon. The cooldown period of her quirk usage wasn't mandatory, just a suggestion to keep her from developing frostbite. As she was heading towards the ground she would shoot out a blast of ice to propel her backwards.[break][break]

Unluckily for her Sho was already on her, flipping his blade to the blunt side he would swing at her catching her back and knocking the wind out of her as she was 'pitched' back towards Freja. It all happened in an instant and with enough force behind his own swing hopefully, Freja wouldn't hesitate to go all out. Someone who was willing to hurt innocents indiscriminately deserved to be hurt.

It happened so quickly that she barely even had time to feel dread over her missed attack before Sho pitched her back into the homerun swing. A swing which she poured all her remaining power into, practically falling over from the force she had applied once Ice-ekiel had been hit. She didn't even care if they had won the fight here, if this was the end, because truthfully she couldn't move another muscle even if she wanted to. ''D-Did we do it?'' She breathed, looking up at Sho. No ice attacks yet, which was a good sign. They were also fighting in a pretty public area, so reinforcements should be upon them any minute now.

''Thanks, Sho-san. I would have freaked out and messed up if you weren't here.'' She admitted, closing her eyes and rolling onto her back. ''I don't think I've ever been this tired in my life.'' She had gone through an experience much like this one the day that she died, only it was surrounded by flames back then. She strained to keep her eyes open. ''Are you hurt?'' She thought back to that hail attack and forced a smile. ''The heroes will be here soon. You'll be treated, you'll be okay. Just... Just hold on.'' She closed her eyes again, feeling unusually tired. Hopefully the cold feeling would fade from her body soon. A cup of tea would be nice right about now.
