a girl with some severe only child syndrome.
at first glance, hikari's vibrant energy is what immediately captures one's attention. she exudes vivacity and exuberance, her very presence radiating with an infectious enthusiasm that can illuminate any space. this effervescence makes her incredibly charismatic; she possesses a natural magnetism that effortlessly draws people in and captivates any audience, whether it be a small gathering or a large crowd. her lively aura is like a beacon, beckoning others to join in on the fun and excitement that surrounds her.
but beneath the surface of this charming persona lies a more complex character. hikari's cheerful demeanor often veils her conceited and attention-seeking traits, which can sometimes overshadow her true self. she thrives in the spotlight and will stop at nothing to maintain her place at the center of attention. this need for recognition and validation stems partly from the fragments of her past that still haunt her, and her desperate desire to establish a firm identity in the present. though her flirtatious and impulsive behavior may come across as charming, it is also a calculated means to an end – ensuring she remains in the limelight.
despite her initially perceived self-centered demeanor, hikari possesses a remarkable adaptability and creativity that shines through when it comes to utilizing her unique quirk. she is able to think quickly and come up with innovative solutions to complex problems, catching others off guard with her ingenuity, especially in high-pressure hero-related situations. this same creativity also spills into her personal interests, particularly in her love for fashion and performing arts where she expresses herself with unparalleled flair and originality. whether on the battlefield or on stage, hikari's creative spirit sets her apart from the crowd.
even so, there is a well of vulnerability within hikari. her aversion to monotony and criticism speaks to a deeper sensitivity and fear of being powerless or insignificant. her past has left her with a deep-seated need to control her narrative and be seen as powerful and competent. this need also manifests in a reluctance towards situations where she feels overlooked or overshadowed, as they strike at the core of her deepest insecurities. like a fragile flower shielding itself from the harsh elements, hikari's guard remains up, masking the delicate soul beneath.

» HEIGHT: 5'5"
» WEIGHT: 125 lbs
» EYE COLOR: teal
» HAIR COLOR: red
» SKIN COLOR: pale
» FACE CLAIM NAME: jack-o' valentine
» FACE CLAIM SERIES: guilty gear
of average height but boasting legs for days, hikari tends to command attention in every room she enters with her flamboyant red hair and loud, trilling voice. from a young age, the most common compliment hikari receives has always been on the topic of her fiery river of a mane, so she always wears it down, where it meanders past her hips and brushes against the wind. there's never a hair out of place, a testament to hikari's concern with her own appearance. more striking, however, is the underside of her hair, which boasts a pearlescent white hue. while hikari claims it's natural, many peers have come to the conclusion that she's merely meticulous about keeping it dyed. most striking, though? the shimmering, pale yellow halo hovering over her head, emitting a faint warmth and buzzing softly in silence. upon closer inspection, one can see tiny, spiderweb fractures across its surface, cutting it into pieces.
hikari's personal sense of fashion is doubly striking. where japan has fostered a culture of demure, cute, and unassuming outfits, hikari always goes bold, claiming she'll always be remembered over some "mousy shy loser". she means it, too. she's not afraid to show off her, admittedly, incredible physique, and always opts for revealing, tight, colorful threads even in inappropriate places. this is, undoubtably, just another cry for attention that she masks as a personal interest.
most unassuming are the depths of her teal eyes. they're duller than the rest of her, from her personality to her clothing to her hair, and almost boring considering everything else about her appearance, that which she's put a great deal of care into. though she experimented with colored contacts in her youth, her eyes are au naturale nowadays. her first excuse is that contacts hurt her eyes. her second excuse is that she keeps having dreams about somebody with the exact same eyes.
but that's silly, right?

studies show that most children make their first episodic memories around the age of three or four. hikari, unfortunately, had no such luck. to her, her life began on a balmy summer morning at age 6. she was playing with dolls in the spacious living room of her father's grandiose mansion. she remembers the light shining through the windows, and she remembers the feeling of the sun hitting her cheeks. before that, no matter the amount of work she puts into mustering up an aged, dusty memory from before that moment, her life was empty.
but her life was good. her father was ridiculously wealthy, and when she got to the age where she started to care about her appearance, he gave her a hefty allowance. she never failed to take a chance to flaunt this in front of her childhood friends. in truth, though, she was obnoxious. entitled, loud, and selfish, she often failed to impress her teachers, and only managed to keep a good circle of friends in her youth by having her father surround them with luxurious vacations, birthday parties, and gifts. come high school, and hikari still had no real friends, just a revolving door of sycophants and falsehoods. hikari didn't really seem to mind, though. she was popular, rich, and rotating from party to party every weekend.
come graduation, hikari had little plans for her future. everybody else was off to college, and while hikari had an acute interest in fashion and acting, she didn't care for sitting through school for four years just to get a few marks on her resume. it was at this point in her life that she hatched a plot: become a hero, gain a fanbase through that, and transition to modeling and acting once she got a following.
her father was more than a little reluctant, to say the least. his worries fell on deaf ears however, as hikari begged and pleaded with him to pay for her way through UA University, where she could further foster a rising star status without having to bother with classes she perceived as useless. her father agreed, albeit quietly. hikari never quite felt the need to inquire on how her father paid for the entirety of the tuition given that the only job she's known him for was a nonprofit environmentalist charity... nor how he paid for anything else in her childhood.
regardless, hikari's off to UAU, and she's excited to hog the limelight all for herself!
