yeah, this whole thing is like, uber ridiculous.[break][break]
hikari only ever joined uau cuz she wanted to get famous as hell, and yet here she is, signed up for events and things that simply don't matter in the long run of things. there's no cameras she can see, she has to ruin her beautiful, incredible hair in the process of her action shots, and she has to work with this goddamn peanut gallery of a team. two losers she doesn't recognize, one with white hair and one with black, and then two losers she definitely recognizes. first of all, whats-his-face from the beach who likes to act all high and mighty as if he's god's great gift to the earth, and jun, the crowning queen of losers. really, it's impressive how much of a loser she is. while hikari doesn't really care about winning or doing well here, she certainly does care about making fun of jun in the process. and, hey, lucky for her, jun's already done something that is worthy of making fun of her![break][break]
hikari's already running from the massive cymbal monkey before jun even gives the order too, cowardly as the redhead is, but she takes the time to glance over her shoulder to find jun wielding... a car door at the thing! that's absolutely hilarious, and hikari wastes no time in showing her distaste for the other girl. "hahahah!!! a car door!" she shouts over the chaos of the toy department store, running amongst the ranks of her other teammates. "great! useless as always, jun!"[break][break]
luckily for hikari, one of her gear items seems to always have something useful in store for her, something she would no doubt brag about in a few moment's time. running through her holographic item selection screen with one perfectly manicured finger, hikari selects her just-in-case briefcase, which materializes into her arms within nanoseconds. with a wide, model smile stretched across her face, hikari opens the briefcase mid-sprint, allowing the golden light of a random item to bask across her face. what's inside?! what's inside?![break][break]

jun, peppy? laugh out loud OUTRAGEOUS. possibly the funniest thing hikari's heard that day. in fact, when jun lets those words fall from her lips, the redhead can't help but burst into a fit of laughter, her stomach cramping and her arms across her abdomen and her back bent down underneath the weight of her own humor. common decency interdicts hikari from knocking jun to the ground and spitting in her face like they're in preschool, but there's no doubt that she intends her voice to do that very thing; like a delicate rose, she's lined herself in thorns, beautiful in concept, but dangerous in action, just as eager to bite as she is to please. "model? you?" hikari guffaws. she takes a brief moment to wip a tear from the corner of her eye as condescending mirth thickens into poison on her tongue. "auden must not have very good taste if he's choosing you to be a model. i mean, really, you looked like a drowned rat who dressed herself in the dark, and you don't smell much better. what are you, the diversity hire? need a few uggos to round out the pack? tbh, i would only hire you to make the real models look good."[break][break]
hikari cocks her hips to the side, and she straightens, crossing her arms across her chest. somewhere out there, some cosmic entity is apologizing desperately, hoping for retribution—i'm sorry, i'm sorry, this may be her at her best. afterall, how do you interact with a girl who grew into an inflated sense of ego as a defense mechanism? how do you talk down a woman with fiery red hair who had every good part of her killed in an incident she can't remember? like the hue of her hair, she's alight with condescension. vanity, and every trait one would hate to see in a hero. at the very least, though, she's honest with herself.[break][break]
"everybody wants to be me, even if they don't realize it," hikari fires back. all vestiges of polite conversation evaporate within seconds. "but who in the world would want to be you? you have next to no presence, you do things without thinking, and you hurt people in some dumb, misguided attempt at proving yourself. you have no honesty with yourself, and i think, truthfully, you know nobody would ever bother being around you if you were. say whatever you want about me, but at the very very least, i know who i am, and i'm not afraid to show it."[break][break]
at hikari's very last breath, in comes a silenced telephone call. fake or not—which hikari highly suspects it is a fake call, if only because people have done this before to try and escape her—her eyes narrow and a sickly sweet, saccharine smile curls across her lips. this girl is remarkably phlegmatic and boring, the exact type of outcast hikari would have an absolute field day with. unique to kaida though, was some actual teeth, which hikari wasn't quite used to dealing with given these types of girls. hell, even though jun literally threw hikari off of a chair, she offered to patch hikari up shortly thereafter. it seemed social ostracism didn't dull the shine of this girl's knife, which ultimately makes an exchange of words much more exciting than usual. just like a smarmy politician, hikari would delight in running speech circles around this rando.[break][break]
"soooo i guess i was right on the mark with you being stupid, given that you don't seem to know what tanning oil is," hikari jabs, recovering from mental anguish just in time to leverage a toxic grin on her face. "oh, or you're just acting like you don't so that you can make a half-assed insult at a girl who couldn't give half of a shit about you! was making yourself look like an idiot worth it, or do you wanna try again?"[break][break]
to hikari, it's surprising that this is even happening given how benign the other girl seems. regardless, the idea to keep jabbing at her with ruthless words ossifies into hikari's head shortly thereafter as she leans back on her hips and curls her arms across her chest just beneath her bust. if she can't spy and gossip, the next best thing is to bully!

ooh, yikes. that one got pretty close. the only thing to keep her from becoming mince meat is some fast reactions on her part and a sudden interception from farrin, who grips it's tail just as she notices the danger she's in and rapidly backpedals. some people, like farrin, are used to these kinds of life-ending spectacles. other people, like hikari, have never experienced anything like this in their lives. this marks the very first moment hikari has actually been fearful for her life, and the pounding in her chest and the adrenaline pumping through her ears becomes an uncomfortable backing track to this cacophany of chaos. for the observant, they might notice that everytime hikari puts on airs of self-importance, it always serves to poorly mask widened eyes, panicked breathing, and jittery movements. for a girl that was never allowed to be anything less than flawless, genuine dread becomes an all-encompassing emotion for which she has developed no coping mechanisms. if farrin has yet to notice, she was not built for this life, and even she will admit that. she's only in this program for the publicity stunt, after all.[break][break]
and, even despite her terror, she remains intransigent even in the face of the demoic beasts. farrin's words fall on deaf ears and fail to penetrate her rock-solid inflated sense of self and ego. as she stumbles back into a lowered position, sending a spray of send up in the process, she rapidly masks her fear once more with overconfidence. "oh, stuff it, you weirdo!" she cries back—her comebacks seem to get worse with stress. "if you wanna be a little baby, then do it somewhere else!"[break][break]
beating back the crab-sharks seems more peremptory than ever, though. verdant scintillations of light spark into life around the shards that constitute hikari's shattered halo, and a few pieces lift from the whole with verve, forming a silhouette of a fallen angel slaughtered against the backdrop of blood-tainted sand and glistening red waves. like a deadshot, she closes one eye to minimize distractions, and she stills her breath with tremendous effort from her brain. she's in her happy place for a second. she's with papa and her kitty, shawshank. they're having a warm meal and talking to eachother from opposite ends of a very long table that should have seated many family members, occupied only by two people. they're laughing, back when papa could laugh. as her breath stills, the shards of her halo coalesce into one pin-sharp stake. there are whispers on the wind, each in hikari's voice, but in different melodies. not all of them are her as she is now. some are more childish, some are kinder, some are older. all she knows is that the voices stop when the shards fly forward at breakneck speed and embed themselves directly into the head of one of the shark beasts foreheads, going at least a foot deep.

the nerve on this dude! sure, she may have set almost half the block on fire, and she may have had it caught on camera like an IDIOT, and the cat may have almost died, but... okay, yeah, she did something pretty bad. she can admit that to herself, but she definitely won't let hiro win on those grounds. she harumphs and tilts her nose upwards, as if looking down upon him and the little kitten would absolve her of any wrongdoing. "so what?" she sneers. "at least i looked hot while doing it, and not like some dinky little... whatever you are."[break][break]
and after all of that, he still seeks to insult her! he's nothing if not exhaustive in the game of back-and-forth, almost as skilled as hikari herself. suddenly flaring up in righteous anger, hikari's quirk activates in a sheen of verdant energy as she sends warbling, star-like shards of her halo flying towards hiro to land right in front of his feet, thereby snaring him where he is as he attempts to walk away with the kitten in hand.[break][break]
"uh, no way, weirdo!" she trills, almost baring her teeth at him and she strides towards him from behind. "the hell do you think you're doing? that cat is now... umm... evidence! in an investigation against... you! for setting the fire. so i advise you to hand over the furball so we can get busy with that. and stuff."[break][break]

yeah, this whole thing is like, super fuckin' boring. who the hell are these weirdos? hikari's never seen most of these people before, which is ultimately very lucky for them, because hikari would absolutely bully each and every one of them relentlessly. the weird, mousy showrunner? the madlib hero? fucking red girl???? from the curtains, hikari can't help but laugh at every introduction made from the start of the show to her spot in it, and she doesn't laugh quietly either, making no attempts to stifle her condescending giggles. boring as it was, it was definitely fun to laugh at the forerunners and gossip about them to the people at her sides, from how gaudy she thinks red girl's costume is to how she derides vox for being, in her words, a dinky nerd. of course, when both of them hop off stage to return to the curtains, hikari musters a saccharine smile and ondescending words of encouragement that drip with poison. the true two-faced bitch of ua, as it were.[break][break]
well, next up is the shattered seraph herself. there's some amount of decorum to this whole activity, be it expressing one's desire for being a hero or determining one's gimmick, but hikari didn't block any of these neccesities into her introduction, if only because she didn't feel like she particularly needed to. instead, as curtains were pulled away from the back of the stage to reveal hikari's form, it's quite clear that all the redhead cares about is making a good impression and looking hot while doing it. the stage is completely dark save for the shards of her halo, shining as bright as any spotlight, and hovering ethereally in a concentric shape behind hikari, backlighting her form in a sumptuous way. the glow of her halo highlights every curve, from the dip of her waist to the buxom shape of her hips, and it only gets more shapely when she begins to strut forward in silence. her heels clack against the stage and echo throughout the auditorium, punctuating every tilt of her hip and every shift of her head, until she pauses in place at the very end of the stage. suddenly, a spotlight erupts on her form, and she strikes a pose that can only really be described as seductive. from a breast pocket on her pure white jumpsuit, hikari grabs a handful of business cards.[break][break]
"the name's nova luna," she rasps, eyes half-lidded and voice sultry. "heaven's never far when you're with me."[break][break]
and then she throws her business cards into the crowd. when all of those are out of the air, she grabs more from her breast pocket and throws them all over again. and when even those have run out, hikari instead resorts to posing again and again amd again in the hopes of more and more fanfare. hell, she could do this forever, if not for...

hikari barely pays jun any attention. that's the mindset of girl who fully and completely believes that she has everything that everybody else could only really dream of. riches, looks, body—what else could any girl want, truly? that's the main reason that hikari doesn't really get along with other women that well. she has this compulsive thought constantly that she's better in every way when compared to any given girl, and she has no problems with making this known. very few women actually meet hikari's standards for being worth her time, and even then, hikari has to be the worst "friend" in the world, and at her best she only sometimes allows her "friends" to talk to her about something she doesn't really care about. so, yeah, of course she doesn't really care about jun or anything she says about her. water off a duck's back. what DOES pique her interest is the mention of auden—the model? owner of her dream job? though hikari doesn't quite reveal that she's listening a little bit more closely now.[break][break]
"trashy?" she echoes with a poisoned little laugh, so practiced and refined that it oozes condescension in every syllable. "it's no wonder you think it's trashy. if you touched any piece in my wardobe, you'd kinda just look like a dumb, frumpy middle-schooler."[break][break]
hikari pauses walking, and turns around fully to place her critical green eyes directly on jun. she eyes her from head to toe, and then leans back on her heels, popping her hip out while she allows one of her hands to linger near her mouth. "like, totally no offense, but you're just super not hot. kinda fugly, tbh. i honestly just think you're jealous that i look good enough to show some skin while, you're, you know..." she gestures vaguely to jun's entire being. "stuck with this. a lil embarassing."[break][break]
hikari turns, flipping her long red hair over her shoulder, and laughs. in her head, she's laughing so hard. she doesn't often get the chance to be just openly antagonistic, but when she does, she can't help herself. it's one of the few things she's really good at—tearing people down. as she continues walking, she can't help but let out one last quip.[break][break]
"but hey, don't be sad about being ho-nasty. at least you're good for something!" hikari trills in a high-pitched, upbeat voice. "getting me coffee!"

dude with weird accent hits the ground and a wave of sand is sent over a newly-appeared gaggle of beasts that emerge from the sea, water sloughing off their bodies in addition to clumps of wet sand. though they are unbothered, it does give some time to strike them where it hurts while they're busy wiping sand from their eyes with their little auxilliary arms. hikari's first instinct is to start slicing them into little sashimi-sized pieces until farrin—apparently—gives her an order. hah! as if he thought of it first! hikari can't help it—though she has some positive traits, most of her peers would argue that her wealth of negative personality traits might outweigh the good. namely, she's stubborn, and she despises being told what to do. in her mind, she's better than farrin, she's better than all of her classmates, and she's better than every damn volunteer on this stupid, stinky beach. so, since she's so much better, she doesn't need anyone to tell her what to do, especially some foreigner who feels like he matters enough to tell her his name.[break][break]
"first of all, don't care, didn't ask," she barbs back at farrin, shattered halo shards glistening with arcane, warbling energy as they splinter around her head. "second of all, nobody tells me what to do!"[break][break]
as the shards of Hikari's halo swirl around each other, they form a star-like disc and head towards one of the shark monsters that farrin hasn't covered in his initial attack in direct violation of his order. the disc slices through the air with a high-pitched whine, leaving behind a trail of shimmering light. the beast open it's jaws in preparation to clamp down on any flesh it can find, but her shards reach it first, slicing through it's tough, rough hide like butter. it lets out a high-pitched cry of pain as blood erupts from the wound in it's chest, sprinkling the sand with crimson, and only flowing with more sanguine ferocity when the blood-covered shards of light suddenly disappear from it's wound and reappear above hikari's head.[break][break]
of course, that leaves the sand covered shark-crabs unaccounted for. one has already stopped clearing off it's eyes, and with a growl of warning, it immediately tumbles towards hikari, whose already busy flicking blood from her halo with a few telepathic orders. she's distracted enough to not even notice the danger she's in, fully focused on appearances.

it's an empty threat. hikari knows just as well as the shards of her halo that breaking any shard is extremely painful for both her and the shard, and it's not quite the outcome either of them want, but it's enough to get the damn thing to just SHUT UP. hikari flicks away the telepathic conversation by gently shaking her head back and forth, but the headache remains from the pecking incident, reverberating through her upper body and sinuses like dissipating waves of water. she raises a hand to gently pressing on her temples in hopes to allow the pressure to relieve itself, and though it works for a second, it only returns as soon as her hands leave when she finds herself approached by someone.[break][break]
black hair, citrine eyes... oh god, it's the girl hikari was spying on. to confirm, hikari locks her eyes with the shard held in kaida's hands, and her expression quickly sours. with a roll of her eyes, hikari attempts to control the shard and wrest it away from kaida's hands to return it to it's rightful place atop her head, and in the process, the buxom redhead rises to her feet and crosses her arms while popping her hip out.[break][break]
"am i okay?" she hisses, eyes narrowed and brows furrowed as she stares up at the taller girl. "uh, no! do you like make it a habit to randomly go picking up other people's things? or are you just like stupid or something???"[break][break]
there's a lot of unwanted aggression for someone who was very obviously in the wrong, but anybody whose seen hikari would immediately clock her as a girl who feels entitled to her own fury in every situation.

another day, another snoozefest of a class.[break][break]
if hikari didn't know any better, she would ask why she was sitting in a desk, listlessly staring out windows, wearing the worst uniform known to man. but hikari does know better. the truth of the matter is that the professor of this class, a rather scary woman with deep black hair and eyes that remind hikari of something that makes her head hurt, had threatened to fail the young student if she skipped any more sessions of this class. the truth of the matter is that, seconds in to sitting in a chair and the class beginning, hikari hadn't been able to grasp any of the concepts the professor was talking about. probably because hikari hadn't been to any of these classes... whoops. totally not her fault. she has an addiction to tanning and it's critical.[break][break]
so hikari pulled out her phone and began texting and snapfacing and whatever. and then when the professor took away her phone, hikari started doing her nails. and then when the professor took away her nail polish, hikari began to stare listlessly out of the window she was seated next to, dreaming of a life where she could become effortlessly famous without bothering to go through the trouble of a publicity stunt. every so often, a sigh leaves her lips, wistful and true. every so foten, she tunes into the class instruction, declares that it's not something she cares about, and turns right back to daydreaming.[break][break]
...until, suddenly, everybody is rising from their seats. hikari suddenly comes back to earth, glancing up and around her with bewildered eyes. "huh? is class over?" that was, like, way too short for class to be over, right?

a slug. on her arm. slimy and wet and ON HER ARM. SLIME. ARM. SLIME. but from WHERE??[break][break]
hikari's horrified eyes crane back upwards, and she locks her gaze with antoine. then back to the slug, then back to antoine, then back to the slug. is it staring back at her? is it MOCKING her???[break][break]
"ew," hikari starts, quiet at first, and then her voice slowly crescendos into disgust laced with acute panic. "ew ew ew ew ew EW EW EWWWWWW EW!!!"[break][break]
all this flirting, all this lobbying, all this lionizing, all to get SLUGGED ON!! if hikari didn't know better, perhaps this very situation would have eventually become her villain origin story, the seminal seed preceding the tall tree of villainy, excess, and evil. at the end of the day however, she's a simple girl. she would prefer to not have men vomit slugs onto her body if she could help it. is that too much to ask for?[break][break]
hikari rapidly flicks the slug from her arm and, though she is whispering something under her breath, something to the effect of 'ew ew ew ew ewww', she says nothing to antoine when she rapidly rises from her seat atop him and leaves shellies entirely without even taking a survey sheet. if she could have her way, hikari would like to forget that this night had ever happened.

hikari's not necessarily dumb, but she's not particularly erudite either, and she displays this best in that her first instinct when facing this abomination is to grab wild fistfuls of wet sand and toss it at the thing's face. in any other situation, that may have been useful, but pocket sand doesn't work so well when it's moist and clumped together so tightly, and doubly so when the victim is a crab-shark. when the sand slams uselessly against it's face, tiny auxilliary arms, it's maxillipeds, reach up towards the two inky black eyes that poke up from it's head to gently scrape away the sand, like mini-windshield wipers. hikari, of course, despairs. "WHYYYYYYY," she whines aloud, her face twisting into an expression that can only be reminiscent of actual, genuine pain despite going untouched since this situation's advent. the only thing to break her from the despondency flushing through her mind is the sound of a voice punching through the equally outrageous noise of the shark-crab clicking it's mandibles together.[break][break]
he says something very reasonable, but hikari only barely hears him because she is very busy FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. she's here to be HOT, not be in life ending situations!!! she only scrambles to her feet because she risks certain death by willfully ignoring him. "you think i don't know that?!" she snaps at him, as if it had been her plan all along to get up and not get eaten by the weird crustacean monster. overweening as she is, she spends a significant amount of time wiping sand off of her backside as she retreats to higher ground, up and away from the abyssal seabeast.[break][break]
now, hikari breathes hard, chest heaving up and down, as she stands in the sand some yards away from the coastline. her green eyes survey the rest of the beach, which now crawls with the exact same monsters, each of them accosting either hero students or proctors, and even some unrelated civilians overseeing the beach cleanup. given that hikari's safety is secured now, though, it gives her just enough time to regain her poise. she assumes an overbearingly confident stance, throwing her arms out in a melodramatic display of false prowess. "that's ok, nova luna, the shimmering angel hero, is more than enough to like... kill these things, or whatever!" god, she hopes there are some cameras watching her. she's just so cool, afterall. "watch out, guy with weird accent. i'll save you!"[break][break]
hikari's eyes slowly glance up to her own shattered halo. ok. ummm can you like kill the shark pls.[break][break]
nooo.[break][break]
hikari's brows furrow. um. yes?[break][break]
why should we? sounds dumb. omg, just like u![break][break]
a frustrated sigh leaves hikari's mouth. cuz i'll get us iced coffee after?[break][break]
fine. but u better make us look cool while doing it.[break][break]
thank god. finally, a spectral shard of hikari's iridescent halo breaks away from the shattered seraph. with blinding speed, it zips towards the shark, and hikari's cry of victory is drowned out only by the beast's pained grunts as the shard slices open it's left side. blood flows from the deep wound down to the sand, mixing with the rising tide in an eddy of gore, and the scent of it only serves to anger the monstrosity further. the beast suddenly tumbling towards hikari on six clumsy claws cuts hikari's victory short, and she is once again left standing on the banks, clutching at herself and crying with panic.

a lot of silly interactions usually leave the two parties involved laughing with eachother, but whenever elects to let a giggle slip from her lips in this situation, it's always certainly under the impression that she is laughing at jun. her eyes crinkle, her tone is sardonic, and every word that comes out after is sickly sweet and saccharine, like a mother talking down to a misbehaving child. especially when jun lays down the somehow cuter bandaid onto her knees and makes a strange comment about how... cute?? ... hikari is, hikari can't help but clutch her stomach in a desperate attempt to keep her laughter in. "wow, no wayyy, you're like, so much cuter! sooooo cute. i just, like, LOOOOOVE how frumpy and homely u look!" hikari chimes, and then promptly rips the bandaids off her knees and tosses them away without a further look. "anyways can we stop playing house so u can go get me coffee?"[break][break]
and there she goes, packing up! beautiful, this is great! it's coffee time, and coffee always tastes better when its free and bought for you by people who don't matter at all. hikari rises soon thereafter, swiping her hands over her backside to rid herself of any debris from the grass, and then swipes a hand through her brilliant red hair to flip it over her shoulder. she's inspecting her nails for any chips when jun tells her to put some damn pants on (as if she wears pants in the summer), and hikari sends a piercing glare in the other girl's direction. "um, ok, like, gimme a sec?" she says, and then resumes looking over her nails. "at least one of us has to make sure we don't look like shit."[break][break]
damn, a chip. that's ok, it's probably time for the next manipedi anyways. one melodramatic sigh later, and hikari is redressing herself--well, not like it's any better than before. her outfit almost entirely consists of very high-waisted shorts that barely reach past her bikini line and a crop top that might as well be functioning as a bra at this point. regardless, that's what she's come with, so she tosses all of her sunbathing supplies back into her versace tote, dons her sunglasses once more, and a take a firm hold on her large tumbler with one hand while the other supports her bag. she takes one last second to don her wedge sandals, and then she's good to go.[break][break]
"okay, follow me!"[break][break]
and off she goes, leading a path off campus!

damn, the kitten's like, actually cute. that isn't surprising, of course. hikari's always been cat person, ever since her dad brought one home to her on her seventh birthday, a pure white molly with iridescent fur and bright blue eyes. she was deaf, of course, a curious but common affliction for cats that looked like her. nonetheless, the kitten was hikari's confidant and partner-in-crime before hikari began conflating popularity with importance. on long nights when dad left her home alone again, hikari went to sleep with little bao in her arms, drifting into dreams with the gentle, rhythmic rise of both of their chests. and then, only 6 months after bao arrived in the mansion, hikari watched a hawk take her into the sky with sharp talons around her small torso, blood flowing from the punctures in her fur just as much as tears flowed from hikari's eyes. poor thing couldn't hear the beating of wings. hikari may have, but she can't remember. regardless, she blames herself for bao's death, one of the only things she actually laments nowadays, and the only thing she blames herself for.[break][break]
maybe that's why it stings so hard in her chest when she looks at this soot-stained stray, a patchwork of smokey-black and white fur and wide green eyes. it's not just like bao, but it's close enough to pull on hikari's heartstrings, to the point that she asks hiro her next question in a poised, nonchalant way that only barely reveals how much she's hinging on his answer. "so are you keeping it or what?" she intones, though she purposefully keeps her eyes off of the furball mewling in hiro's arms. "or are you just gonna hold it up and stare at it like a weirdo?"[break][break]
and then a comment about her suit. who the hell is this dude? first he saves the cat he was trying to say and then he makes dumb comments about her rockin' bod? hikari rolls her eyes SOOOO HARD.[break][break]
"um, like any other person, duuuh?" she points her voice like a viper at hiro, and even sends him a withering glare, though a smile has risen to her face. "do u need like a lesson or something? are u that stupid?"

think regina george training to have to capability to level cityscapes—yeah, that's hikari. too selfish and conceited to be a real hero, but equally too loud and proud to be a normal girl. hell, she doesn't even try to lie if you ask her what the hell she's doing in the hero program at UAU—in fact, she's proud of it. given the media attention lauded on UAU graduates, hikari kirameki's only goal for graduation is to get out of the program with a bunch of fans and followers! if that happens before she graduates, well, then she just drops out and goes on to do what she really wanted to do: be a model. that's right, this whole hero thing? it's all one big marketing stunt.[break][break]
her personality doesn't really make up for how selfish her goal is. she loves being better than people, and will do anything to take everyone else around her down a notch so she can shine brighter than all of her peers. she's a master of manipulation, lying, and general bitchery, and she's proud about it. to her, she is a winner surrounded by losers, and getting past that conception is an uphill battle that might not be worth fighting in the first place.[break][break]
what she doesn't show, however, is that there's more to her than meets the eye, a glimmer of something true beneath all the glitz and glam that only shows in the quiet moments. who would ever be worthy of witnessing such a thing, though?

if you want to dive in love me, love me — hikari's had her fair share of love affairs gone wrong, and so nowadays, she only really deals with "romance" if its to get ahead, and even then she's only tangentially invested. now, of course, she also doesn't particularly mind if the person she's pursuing is already taken. want some messy af drama in your romance plots? hikari's here to ruin everything![break][break] gross, a real hero — is your student, like, really into the whole hero thing? a real goodie-two-shoes? never fear, hikari is here to make fun of them, sabotage their endeavors, or otherwise be a thorn in their side as her selfish ideals clash with your altruistic ones. afterall, who can say what is good without an example of what is bad? hikari can be that bad example, no need to look any further.[break][break] uhoh, media problems — for a girl who really wants a spot in the limelight, hikari has a surprising amount of skeletons in her own closet. maybe your character leaks a damning secret to the public, or maybe the public finds out of its own accord and you're one of many people trying to find out if what they're saying is true. either way, it's no good, especially for hikari.[break][break] nighttime blues — most days, hikari's a gold-plated maiden of alpha girlhood. some nights, though, she's the opposite, left staring at her ceiling, rendered incapable of sleep because of constant nightmares that have plagued her since she was a child. maybe you find her in the throes of trying to walk it off, or you're one of the very few people she feels comfortable confiding in. either way... bonding?
