The sapphire-eyed Titan had only met his roommate this morning but he couldn't help but appreciate the dude's presence. Kei seemed like a kind person, little on the goofy side but kind. Kei was a year ahead of him but the school had put them together since Zenkai has spent the last 4 years in a monastery and no idea what the hell was going on. Apparently Kei would be the perfect person to help him with acclimating once again.

Their initial meeting was kind of awkward with the two of them exchanging the normal greetings and talking about the room before it was decided that they should go to Ikea to grab some things to make their dorm room feel more like a home. It was to be a bonding trip, or at least that was how it was explained to Zen. The Titan himself didn't mind much, he didn't exactly know anyone in U.A. and their orientation wasn't until tomorrow so a little adventure to deepen their friendship seemed like a good idea. As long as Kei didn't try and find out too much about him they would get along just fine.

So, the two of them left the dorms, leaving Beary-chan behind much to her chagrin, and got on a train to tokyo to go to the Ikea that just opened up. It would be a good place to get some nice things for their dorm room, easy to build, good looking and cheap. Plus, Zen had heard good things about their meatballs and couldn't help but wonder if they would live up to the hype.

"I think they've also got some cute stuffed animals too, though we're not getting the bears, Beary will get jealous and just destroy that thing." Zenkai looked down at his much shorter roommate. Kei had probably made a list, he seemed like the kind of person who would make a list instead of keeping it all in his brain like Zenkai was doing. "Think they got some of those fluff pillows and soft blankets? I could use some soft shit in my life."

[Kei Hada]

New year, new roommate.

Well, in this case, an actual roommate.

It wasn't that Kei had the dorm room to himself at one point or anything. He wasn't special enough for that. Instead, it just so happened that during his first year in UAU he barely saw his roommate at all. The guy was nocturnal apparently, his schedule the complete opposite of the support student. This resulted in them never being the room at the same time, and therefore they rarely interacted.

Which was fine. Everyone had their own mannerisms and habits and all that. Thing was, that guy was very different from the roommate he had now.

Zenkai's presence alone took some getting used to- he was an absolute behemoth despite his mellow nature. That didn't even factor in his pet bear which Kei was still trying to figure out how she was allowed on university grounds. Oh right- companion, not pet. Beary-chan chose to stay; she could've left at anytime if she wanted to.

Beyond the introductions and the being overwhelmed however, their conversation somehow shifted to furniture they'd want in their room, and just like that they were headed to Ikea. Already he was spending more time with Zenkai today than with his old roommate the entire year and honestly? It was nice.

Kei, tucked safely inside a maroon hoodie and jeans while he still can avoid the uniform for a little longer, was scrolling through his phone when the freshman spoke to him. Because of course he had a list. "Rugs, lamps, storage for sure- and I'm gonna need a cork board. Do you have pictures? We can look for frames and hooks too."

The sophomore was still adding items to said list as more ideas of what to get came up. He even typed no bears!! next to the stuffed animals entry for good measure. "No bears- but yeah they're in the bedroom section definitely, they have everythin' to fill a house with here! And a mug warmer is underrated so I'm addin' that too."

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai rested an arm on his roommates head as the train chugged along towards it's destination. "Nah, I don't have pictures or anything like that" Zen stated as if it was just a matter-of-fact. The golden boi winced to themself after blatantly stating that information, hoping that Kei wouldn't try and follow up with any questions as to why "Though, put down one for me too, I'm sure I'll have pictures to put up and shit later" To emphasize this point and distract his new bestie Zenkai took out his phone and bent down slightly before wrapping an arm around Kei and throwing up a peace sign for a selfie "Say roomies"

Once the train had arrived at their stop, Zenkai led the way to the Ikea. "How are mug warmers underrated? Like, what if you want to keep the drink cold? I usually have a preference for cold drinks over warm drinks." Kei had some pretty good insights though, he was definitely smarter and more organized than Zen ever was. It was nice having someone around that covered up for his faults. "Also, what's your favorite drink? Chocolate milk has to be the best damn beverage that I've ever drank in my entire life. " It was a simple and stupid conversation but it was a start, and it killed time until they reached the Ikea.

Once inside the swedish furniture store Zenkai grabbed one of the big-ass shopping carts, Kei was the brains so it was only right that he be the muscle. Zenkai made his way to the kitchen area since that was the starting place in the labyrinthine store, there were a few shoppers that he didn't care to pay attention to and absolutely no employees which went completely unnoticed by Zen "So...Mug warmers?" He asks "Any other kitchen things we need? Matching aprons?"

The answer got Kei to tilt his head. "No pictures?" Even he had a few for his family and girlfriend, already framed as he had been in the dorms the year prior. The titan would be right that he would ask about it out of curiosity more than anything, but he was distracted by the weight of the guy's arm around his shoulder and a camera on his face. "Oh! Roomies??" Whatever picture was taken would have Kei with a shaky smile at best, unsure expression at worst. He wasn't the most photogenic person.

But you know, at least he had a peace sign too!

Though he couldn't help the relief he felt at the train reaching their stop, prompting the photos to end for the time being. Kei let the other student lead as he followed him out. "I drink tea and hot cocoa a lot, so not havin' to go outside to keep 'em warm while I study is really useful especially in the winter months." He recalled a time in December when there was an actual line for the microwave. Eugh. "I like soda the most though! But you're right, chocolate milk's amazin'."

And just like that they're in the building. While Zenkai manned the cart, Kei would take a pamphlet from the information stand so they had a map of the place. He traced a line from kitchen to bedroom and storage to workspace with his finger so the other student could see; areas they needed to visit today. "Mug warmer-" Eyes moved from the map to the appliance in question and he smiled.

Two mug warmers placed in the cart later, Kei looked up at the titan with curious eyes. "Matching aprons? I don't cook that often honestly, do you?"

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai grinned as he assessed Kei's choices of beverages, Kei seemed like a sweet person and his beverage choices only backed that up, tea, hot chocolate, soda. The soda part definitely checked out. Kei wasn't fat but the soda probably wasn't doing him any favors, though Zenkai couldn't be one to judge, ever since he had left the monastery his diet consisted of mostly junk food and fast food.

It literally took Kei less than five minutes to find his beloved mug warmers getting a matching set for the two of them which was pretty sweet of him. "I mean, I've been working on cooking more, or baking at least, everyone likes baked goods right? Figured it's an easy way to make friends." The titan held up two frilly pink aprons that were covered in cupcakes. "Figured it could be an activity we do together"

Zenkai grinned as he looked at their cart which was steadily filling up with the various containers, rugs, blankets, pillows and other assorted items the two needed to make their dorm room a home. "So, what else do we need? I remember the Blaja's but that's about it" The titan grinned as he leaned down to peer over Kei's shoulder and at the list his room mate had made.

Suddenly a scream ripped through the Ikea and forcing Zenkai's eyes away from the list. For the first time since they entered the Ikea, Zenkai realized that they were alone, no patrons, no employees, just them and the eerily still floor room they were in. "Correct me if I'm wrong Kei...I don't think people should be screaming in Ikea"

As they made their way through the store and Kei played errand boy by fetching things to toss in the cart, he couldn't help but notice the lack of staff on the floor. Usually there'd be at least a couple to field questions about where certain products are located. He'd be more worried if talking to Zenkai didn't ease him from their absence.

Kei let out a laugh when the frilly attire of choice was revealed. It wasn't his usual style but he wasn't going to be a spoil sport about it. Yaoyao would love it either way. Therefore, Zenkai received the thumbs up he deserved for his choice. "Those are perfect, add 'em to the cart! And people definitely love baked goods, I can help ya if I see you in the kitchen makin' some. I don't bake much but I follow directions well enough."

He was checking each item off the list as they were obtained, and soon enough there was nothing left. The titan would see every entry in Kei's list crossed out. "Blajas?" He looked up at the freshman curiously. "What's that?" The sad fact was he only went to Ikea for the furniture. He never thought to visit the plushie section no matter how cute they were.

Thoughts of unknown sharks were thrown aside at the scream though. Suddenly he remembered how there were no employees around, and not even a single customer either? Were they the only ones in the place now? How did that even happen? "Uh," was the eloquent reply Zenkai would receive before he'd find the support student move closer to him. God, he should've mentioned the missing staff. "Unless someone's complainin' about a product bein' out of stock, no."

Kei eyed their surroundings warily. "Maybe we should head to the checkout."

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"] Zenkai wished he could have agreed with Kei, checking out and just getting the hell out of here sounded like a great idea. Unfortunately the scream they heard sounded like someone in trouble which meant Zenkai couldn't really ignore it. He could have but the guilty conscience associated with leaving like that would far outweigh the benefits of paying and going home. Nope, Zen didn't have the luxury of just going to the check out line. Besides, there were blajas to be had and the titan would be damned if they left without their sharky treasure.

"Fuuuuuuccccckkkkk" Zen let out an exasperated groan as his shoulders slumped, giving into the duty that was required of him. "No can do Kei-bae...Someone's in trouble" Zenkai knew full well that his roommate was a support student and didn't exactly deal with the heroic side of the school like he did but, regardless of the support student's wishes he would be dragged into the rescue effort that was about to occur.

The enlightened one began to push the cart forward as he spoke, beckoning Kei to follow him as he did so. "Alright, new plan, we go check out the scream, find whoever did it and if they need help we rescue their dumbass" Zenkai began to pick up the pace as another scream rang out throughout the building "And after we find them, we grab the Blaja's and get the hell out of this creepy ass place" Zenkai just hoped that Kei wouldn't be the kind of person to worry about paying if shit went sideways. Zen had no will to come back to this Ikea when it was in a better shape, at this point he just wanted to get their shit and get out.

It didn't take very long for Zenkai to locate the screaming person, after all their screams increased in frequency and volume as the two continued on through the furniture store. After a few twists and turns the roommates were greeted to a scene of a woman and her child being assaulted by a singular employ who was appeared to be trying to grab them as they ran. At first glance the yellow shirt seemed like a normal employee but he felt wrong. The employees limbs were too long and the second they showed up and it turned to them it was clear that the thing didn't even have a face.

Zenkai let out a small sigh as he took his hands off the cart and turned to Kei "Alright...Here's what we do, you nab the mom and kid and...Idk, I commit felony assault or some shit. Got it? Good"

No can do Kei-bae, someone's in trouble.

Yep, he was afraid of that. Not of the nickname, mind, though it caught him off-guard when he heard it. They just met after all, and already the guy was coming up with new names to call him. But no, what he was afraid of was the heroic instincts kicking in for the other student. Which meant he was joining the titan in a rescue operation that neither of them were qualified for because no, Zenkai was not licensed yet even if he was on the way to getting one.

Look, it wasn't like Kei wanted people to get hurt. It's just that last time he played hero he blew something up. It wasn't human but it was still a living thing. A creature that died by his hand, terrorizing his classmates with the memory of what he could do with his Quirk. It's why he hadn't told anyone the full extent of it.

He couldn't just abandon his new friend though, so he let out a nervous groan at the guy's plan. "Okay. Save whoever is in here and get out, got it. But I still have no idea what blajas are." Despite the complaint he followed Zenkai to the source of the scream, making sure to stay behind the behemoth all the while.

They eventually reached the mother and child, being chased by - a monster? A person with a Quirk that made them faceless? Kei didn't want to immediately think they weren't a person but the lack of features was making it hard. Wide eyes turned to the freshman, his face revealing how much he didn't want to do this but agreeing to the plan regardless. "Yeah okay."

Assuming that Zenkai would charge in and act as a distraction, the support student would split from him to get to the family and grab their attention. "Hey! Just stay close okay, we'll get out of this place together."

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]It was pretty clear that Kei didn't want anything to do with what was about to happen but he was a good lad and would do it anyway because that's what heroes did. To be fair, Kei wasn't exactly a hero, he was a support student but he was still at a hero school so he had to have had that little need to help...didn't he? It didn't really matter at this point, Zenkai was going in and as a good roommate Kei was basically required to back him up.

The titan wasted no time charging at the faceless monster while Kei went over to gather the family and get them to safety. Zenkai quickly ducked under the monster as it reached out to grab him, tackling it to the ground before raising his fist to bash it's head in. The faceless being was faster than Zen thought and grabbed his arms before he could start the pummeling, trying to rip them from their sockets. It hurt like hell and he definitely heard a pop as his left arm dislocated from it's socket but it wasn't about to stop the golden boi from committing the assault he had set his eyes on. without missing a beat the titan slammed his head into the monsters face over and over again until he felt the pressure on his arms go away.

The monster was still wriggling on the ground as Zenkai stood up, trying to grab him and pull him back to into the darkness. Once it realized it could no longer get up it let out a miserable, bone chilling howl. Through the darkness Zenkai could make out more figures beginning to approach them and he was in no mood to figure out if they were friendly or not. Judging by their lanky limbs the golden boi assumed they were almost certainly more of the monster's friends.

The titan spun around and bolted toward Kei and the other two holding onto his arm and slamming it into the nearby pillar letting out a loud groan as he popped the shoulder back into place. "we gotta go! we gotta go!" Zen shouted as he grabbed the cart with one hand, picking up the little girl with his other. The titan groaned as his shoulder ached under the weight of the girl as he carried her like a sack of potatoes. He wouldn't stop though, they needed to get out of here and fast before the monsters caught up to them.

As the two of them ran through the empty Ikea, looking for their exit Zenkai finally found the treasure that he had been searching for the entire time: The Blahajs. The stuffed sharks were in a large container, as helpless as stuffed sharks could be, in need of the two heroes to rescue them.

"KEI! THE BLAHAJS! GET ALL THE BLAHAJS! WE HAVE TO SAVE ALL THE BLAHAJS! DON'T LEAVE A SINGLE ONE BEHIND!"

Kei didn't need to be told twice; he and the mother and child already had a head start through the building, leaving Zenkai to do what he was trained to do. Well, that was a lie, they did stop eventually so the hero student wasn't left behind. It was only when the monster screamed and the titan rejoined them that they really started running, with the titan even picking up the woman's daughter despite what happened to his arm moments ago - yes Kei witnessed him ram his own arm into a pillar and it was as terrifying as one would expect.

His eyes only widened once they landed on the so-called Blahajs the titan was raving over. "They're sharks?!" How the guy could think of shark plushies at a time like this absolutely baffled Kei. Surely all that was gonna do was slow them down. The bin they were all in didn't even have wheels. They would lose too much time transporting them all.

But Zenkai did so much already, even bashing the first creature's head in with his own so it stopped chasing them. And he still had their cart despite everything. So sure, okay, maybe saving some stuffed animals was the least Kei could do for the titan. He saw a decent set of wheels they could use while they were running anyway.

Kei held his hands up at the woman they were trying to save. "Stay here okay? I'll be right back!" He veered left and disappeared in the shadows, and for a tense few seconds there was nothing but the distant noise of monsters closing in on their location. No support student in sight.

That is, until a pair of headlights shone in the darkness and it moved forward.

It was a forklift. Kei was driving a forklift so he could pick up the whole bin of Blahajs with its prongs. "Hop on! This thing can move faster than us!" he yelled at the woman, which he will definitely apologize for once he stopped panicking and they were no longer at risk of dying.

As soon as she jumped on the back of the vehicle, he steered it so it was next to Zenkai. "Just put the kid on my lap- you need your hands free dude!" He couldn't exactly punch another terror in the face while carrying a child. There was probably a rule against that somewhere in Heroism 101.

Kei had said he didn't know what Blahajs were but like...what did he expect? A table or some shit? It was fine though, Kei seemed like a capable kid and could probably push the large container and carry it out with them. It had wheels after all...wait...No it didn't. The titan began to worry, they might not be able to get Sharkeesha, Biter, chomper, Finn, Slate, Thirsten, Dot, Jaws, Dory, Pirate, Barry Cuda, Biggummas, Goblin, Bruce, Lunchbox, Fat Steve, Skinny Steve, Sir Finley the lesser, Sir Finley the greater, Professor Swimmingly, Mr. Baskington Lord of the reef, Sawtooth Sam, Hammerhead Harry, Priscilla the Predator, Marlene, Oceanic Orlene, Bluey, Greeny, Mako the bringer of storms, Abigail the sinker of ships, Penelope the Precious, Bullford, Winona the great white whino, Cookie the monster eater, Big Bertha the boss bitch, Antonio the Alligator eater, Omnomnomegeddon, Ferdinand, Rodrigo, Betsy and Sharky Mcsharkface out alive.

Then, Kei ran off into the darkness leaving the golden boi with the screaming mom and screaming girl. If Zen didn't know any better he would have assumed Kei crumpled under the mighty weight of his task as the shark savior and went to save himself. But he had known Kei for about a half day and the dude didn't seem like someone who'd run from trouble, in fact, he seemed like someone who'd run directly at trouble. That was more hopeful thinking than anything but Zenkai trusted his roommate to do the right thing and do the right thing he did.

Moments later the mad lad returned with a forklift solving two problems at once, they'd be able to rescue the sharks and get away faster on a set of wheels. well, Kei and the civilians would, there was no way in hell Zen would be able to get on that thing without causing major trouble.

Just as Kei told him to give him the girl over his shoulder another two of the faceless monsters appeared as if summoned by Kei's words. Quick thinking saved the day though as the enlightened one tossed the screaming girl into the large crate of Blahajs before launching himself at one faceless employees, dropkicking it directly where it's nose would have been and slamming it directly into the pillar behind it.

"Kei, get the people and the Blahajs out of here, I'll be catch up once I commit more felonies"

"I don't know," Kei said despairingly. "I thought they'd be something more important than stuffed animals!" Seriously, all this effort expended just to bring some plushies out? Come on now. But you know, it's fine. He found a forklift to carry the bin of them with. It's fine. They're fine. But not really as there were still more faceless creatures running at them why weren't they heading to the exit yet-

Kei flinched as one of the "employees" were slammed into the pillar, cross eyes frantically looking at the titan responsible for the action. "Dude I can't just leave you here." But he eventually turned to the mother and child riding with him, the former gripping their vehicle with white knuckles while the latter was deposited in the shark pile. He groaned.

He was going to have to leave Zenkai behind if they want to get the civilians out.

Another frustrated sound escaped the support student as he lifted the e-brake. "You better know what you're doing!" where his last words to his roommate before he drove on in search of the exit. Unfortunately, while their transportation was fast, it came with headlights and brake lights which no doubt would attract whatever else laid in the dark. He ducked instinctively as another scream tore through the department.

Kei wasn't sure what he'd do if the monsters came after him and the others instead of the titan.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai had absolutely no idea what he was doing but he at least knew that Kei would get the civilians out of here. Kei was a student at U.A.U. after all and the hero courses they went through were top notch, even if he was busy sleeping or eating through most of them. Inevitably a few seconds later the dumbest monster in the school realized that Kei wasn't in the hero course, he was in the support course which meant that he hadn't taken any of the hero courses. which also meant that Kei had no idea what the fuck he was doing. Fuck.

Zenkai let out a loud groan that sounded vaguely similar to the employee monster's scream before grabbing the body of the now unconscious body of the monster and charging after his room mate. It didn't take long for another monster to make it's appearance out of the darkness of the furniture store. Zen didn't have time for this shit though and Zen needed to get to his roommate before the dude became his former roommate. So instead of duking it out and adding another felony to the list the titan instead threw one monster at the other before taking off in pursuit of the forklift.

It took a little less than a minute for the golden boi to catch up to the forklift and it's driver. "Try to keep up Kei-bae, exit's this way" Zen taunted as he ran ahead of his partner to guide him towards the exit. Lucky for both of them the titan at least knew where they had come from, mainly because he had seen a blanket that looked particularly soft and he was debating on going back to get it before they left.

After about a minute or two of slithering through the isles of beds, couches and refrigerators Zen had finally managed to locate the exit and like the gentleman he was, threw a bed through the doors, creating a nice large hole for the forklift to drive through.

Not knowing what the fuck he was doing was fucking right alright.

Look, okay, Kei knew the basics of how to save people. He wanted to be a hero in the past and he's been in one of the most prestigious hero colleges in the world for a year now. Ignoring such lessons was practically impossible when you were surrounded by students who majored in it and you've gotten requests for gear from them because it'd make their jobs in heroism easier.

So yes, maybe he knew how to throw a punch even if he didn't attend the classes. And when to throw a punch. And also ways to strategize the fastest route to safety. And how to bring whomever you're protecting down that route as efficiently as possible. You know, beginner stuff.

But none of that mattered in the real world where he's driving a forklift with both hands on the wheel and he's pretty sure that monster behind them's closing in way too fast and he doesn't know what to do-

Then another monster was thrown at it and they both toppled to the floor as the titan himself came into view. "Oh thank god." Then came the incredulous laugh from the smaller student. "I'm goin' as fast as I can okay?!" He had no idea what the guy's Quirk was but he guessed whatever mutation he had gave him super strength and super speed. Something Kei was thankful for honestly.

Eventually they reached the glass doors they entered through to begin their shopping journey, and the sophomore squinted at the light that was let in when Zenkai respectfully threw a bed through it. Kei easily drove past the opening and skidded to a stop, helping the mother and child off the vehicle and telling them to run as far away as they can before turning back to the store. Because now they had another problem.

If the other student joined him and the family outside, Kei would run to him, worried expression honed in on the broken doors. "Okay, so we're out. How do we keep those in though?" He pointed inside the store, where the monsters starting as specks were slowly getting larger and larger. It'd be easy to join the family and bolt but he was sure to feel guilty if he let the creatures escape.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Freedom had finally been given to them and yet they couldn't get away from them just yet. For some reason Zenkai had felt like they would just inside the building. He was wrong, they were still coming after them and would undoubtably try and cause chaos to the outside world. God damn pain in the ass, this was just too much work for a little Ikea trip. The golden boi sighed and shook his head as he ran back inside, grabbing as much cheaply made shit as he possibly, stacking it up against the hole before finally chucking the bed on the outside, sealing the place in.

"That'll keep them from coming out at least until the heroes arrive. I'll call my Granddad, he'll know what to do" Zenkai sighed as he pulled out his phone. He hated the idea of helping his grandfather get more fame but this was a situation that called for experience than Zen and Kei had. It was a problem that Zen didn't really wanted to deal with. They had gotten their blahajs and now he wanted to go home and decorate their room with Kei.

After the heroes arrived and took over the scene Zen insisted on tracking down the family to at least find out what the hell happened in there. It surprisingly didn't take as long as the titan thought it would. The mom had sought out the police and was being comforted by them as the two of them approached. The only thing that they were able to get out of the woman was that some strange man went around the store and every employee touched turned into one of those things and started attacking all of the shoppers. No description was given which meant they had absolutely no leads. It didn't matter anyway, this wasn't their problem...Right?

Zenkai stretched and let out a yawn as he grabbed Kei and led him away from the family and the cops. "welp...Looks like we'll just leave it up to the actual professionals and hope the dude doesn't come anywhere near us." Zenkai grinned and grabbed the massive crate of Blahaj's "You take the stuff we shopped for, I'll grab the blahajs."
